Creating your Path through Leadership
Irene Dede Acquah (Ghana)

The IIGL Board of Directors suggested that the IIGL book, “Creating your Path through Leadership” be added to the Curriculum. Below are some key points summarized by a Level One student:

Vision: The students have the same vision for the world and many of the same values related to peace-building and leadership.

A Perfect Timing: Leadership is about taking responsibilities.

Discovering Your Leadership Potential: I was challenged to change my thinking and adopt a positive mental attitude. I am inspired to step out of my comfort zone and reach for my high places. I see the world as a bed of opportunities and no longer feeling like a victim of circumstance. Discovering your leadership potential is a journey, not a onetime discovery. It is something you keep working on and unveiling with time. It all begins with a desire to make a difference by using the opportunities and resources available.

Be intentional: Although some people stumble into leadership, most must work at discovering and developing this potential. You must be intentional about the kind of impact you want to create in the world. Being intentional means seeing the challenges that oppress people and making a commitment to go all the way in discovering and providing viable solutions. It is that inner resolve that will keep you going when everything in you wants to give up. Set your heart on the cause and choose not to waiver, no matter the distractions. The inner resolve to make a difference is what distinguishes average leaders from transformational leaders. Men and women who set their hearts on making a difference and keep working at it, are the people that build lasting solutions.

Immerse yourself in the optimum environment: Joining IIGL was one of the best decisions I ever made regarding my leadership discovering and development. It is through this program that I discovered the kind of leader I wanted to be and those I wanted to positively influence. One of the quickest ways to unearth your leadership potential is by surrounding yourself with leaders who are passionate about creating positive influences because the energy of such people will inevitably rub off on you. Iron sharpens iron, hence the need to surround yourself with like minds. The people you surround yourself with have a huge impact on your vision and manifestation of your potential, as you will be continually challenged to aim higher, thereby expanding your capacities.

Seek a mentor: It is one thing for you to be in the company of leaders, it is another to learn from those leaders. I was fortunate to be mentored by great men and women throughout my IIGL experience. The profound lessons taught me have kept me going through the years. I have become what I am today because these mentors took my hand and helped me never have discovered what I could do, had I not been mentored and supported to “go beyond.” A mentor can teach you in single moment what would have taken a lifetime to learn.

Embrace your uniqueness: I was reminded by Michael Lightweaver, founder of IIGL, that the greatest leader I could ever be was the best version of me. That was a game changer because from that point on I aspired to become the best possible version of me. I do admire and respect various leaders but do not aspire to be any of them because there can only be one original version of them. I was created to be an original, not a photocopy. Many young people think that they can fake it until they get it right but that is fallacy. You can only truly benefit others when you have a clear sense of who you are and what makes you unique. Knowing yourself includes awareness of the personality, strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, experiences and skills that distinguish you from others. Who you are defines the type of leadership style that you embody. Your leadership potential will be fully unveiled when you begin to walk in the authenticity of who you are. Be you and others will want to reflect you.

What Others Are Saying

How have I Changed?
My journey through IIGL so far is the best thing that is happening to me in life right now; it has made me to understand to a great extent that I don’t just exist but that I am very special in the unfinished work of creation because of my development of a healthy self image. It is revolutionary because there has been a mind re-orientation and a positive adjustment of my world view about life as well as a change in my behavioral patterns that are tailored towards success-driven and goal-oriented lifestyle. The positive mental impact IIGL has had on me cannot be easily summarized to the fullest in essay writing as it is better experienced than imagined or narrated. The following paragraphs are an attempt to explain how my journey in IIGL so far has changed me.

Since my journey started in IIGL, I have experienced an adjustment in my self-image to a healthier one at that. I now see myself as a creative life force, a builder, and a blessing to my family, friends, the society and the world at large. I consider myself very important in the unfinished work of creation. This perception wouldn’t be easily made clear to me, as well as consciously and thoughtfully developed if I had not been exposed to the classic book, “Psycho-cybernetics” by Maxwell Maltz as part of my level one books. An exposure to this book has made me passed through the furnace of mental reprogramming. Since I read this book, I have been in the practice of upholding and maintaining a higher sense of healthy self-image by living consciously, improving what I can change and accepting what I can’t change as we all know, self acceptance leads to self improvement; practicing self responsibility; self-assertiveness; living purposefully; planning and upholding a strong sense of purpose and personal integrity. This is as a result of my self-knowledge and my adjusted personal belief system as different from what the majority belief is good about me and for me.

IIGL has instilled in me the habit of passionately reading self-help, leadership and business books alongside my professional books. I tend to become a voracious reader and I have developed the capability of reading at least one of such books per week with a full grasp of the contents. It is said that, “What food is to the body, reading is to the brain,” therefore the benefits I have experienced from being a voracious reader cannot be overemphasized, they include: feeding my brain, improved vocabulary, meeting interesting people with advanced mindset (because of the law of attraction), becoming a better version of myself deliberately, it serves as exercise for the memory, it opens my mind, it improves my focus, and improves the world around me.

Finally, the realization and reassurance I gained from my IIGL studies about the working principles of and how to tap into the power of my mind; my super-conscious mind, my God-mind or the infinite intelligence to be specific, is one of the single most important knowledge and understanding I will forever be grateful to IIGL for learning and internalizing. It is the starting point of great exploit in the world of form and it’s truly the most powerful creative force found in the human body.

What our Students are Reading

Matrix Energetics $10.30
Matrix Energetics is a teachable healing phenomenon which merges the science of subtle energy and quantum physics with the incredible power of our own active imaginations and focused intent to produce physical and verifiable results. You can begin to unlock and awaken the powers, abilities, and awareness that are your birth right and spiritual heritage; the transformation of your morphic resonance of the whole being through Matrix Energetics is a technology of awareness that is transferable, teachable and universally available. Quantum physics teaches us that we are made of light and information; that so-called “Classic Reality” is actually an illusion. Photons move backwards and forwards in time and where they meet creates the present moment. Bartlett has found that metaphorically, we can time travel and access states of health and awareness and bring them into the present moment, instantly affecting beneficial changes in the conditions of people’s lives. This is possible because everything is part of the zero point energy field, what some physicists have called “The Mind of God.”

Make A Difference
Dream Team 22
Please join Dream Team 22 as our goal is to have 220 people contributing $22 per month. We understand that money is energy and that to sustain and build IIGL we need a lot of people pouring their energy into this endeavor on a regular basis. We also know that not everyone can afford to commit $22 a month – especially our students, who live in countries with economies in which this amount can be equal to a weeks’ salary. So we are offering two options for those who wish to become a part of the Dream Team. One can commit to a $22 a month contribution or to spending 22 seconds each day holding the vision of IIGL becoming financially sustainable by the end of 2018.

Will you join the Dream Team and help us create an energetic foundation to support the transformational work of IIGL? You can really make a difference in the world by making a modest contribution of time or money. To make the $22 a month commitment or a one time donation, click the link below. To become a member of the Dream Team 22 by committing 22 second a day to help us hold the vision, contact Deb for details: drosen2@wi.rr.com
