How to Stop Worrying and Start Living
Thomas Shereni (Zimbabwe)
thomashereni@gmail.com

The author deals with the most proven techniques that can eliminate worry and ignite your dream. The principles that the author highlights can be applied on a daily basis to deal with the contagious but yet destructive disease of worry. Worry has claimed more victims than any of the threatening disease recorded in human history. People who worry don’t live long; they don’t enjoy the beauty of life. The author explains in clear terms the destructive power of worry and how it can be conquered. He suggests a series of practical theories that are feasible for anyone to emulate and adapt. Positivity can erode worry. We should refuse to be victims of our past and future. We should learn to live a day at a time. No one has achieved anything in this world by worrying. The author advises me to learn to enjoy my day every day without worrying about the distant tomorrow. If I live today I can harness the power to deal with tomorrow. My victory is in today. Today is the day I should focus on because I have control over it. I will not be able to control the unknown tomorrow; because it comes with its own surprises. Today is the day so I should gladly accept it and concentrate all my energies.

Below are some key points from the book:

Today well lived makes yesterday a dream of happiness and every tomorrow a vision of happiness. The best lesson I have learned is to shut down the iron doors of the past and future and simply live today. I don’t live in the past and I don’t live in the future but I live today. In my leadership experience I have trained myself to focus on what I can control and not to waste time on things that I have no power over.

Worry will never get you anywhere. Worry will never take me any distance but can only destroy my ambition to reach for the best in life. Worry feeds on my vision and as a result it eats on my energy. As a leader I should be able to take charge of myself and deal with my worries by focusing on what I should achieve today. Success is reached by doing small things every day. Worry will affect my ability to concentrate and it will never get me anywhere. Every time I worry my mind becomes agitated and loses concentration.
Leaders who do not know how to fight worry die young: Anyone who conquers worry lives longer and enjoys his grace on this planet. Worry takes away our hopes and frustrates our dreams. I have developed a plan to deal with my worries by always having positive and inspirational quotes posted in strategic positions in my house that I read every day and every hour.

The formula that kills worry. The most relaxing and recreational forces are healthy, religion, sleep, music and the power of laughter. Have faith in God, learn to sleep well, Love Good and classic music, see the funny side of life and you will attract happiness and joy. Most of the diseases that we suffer are cousins of worry; unless we deal with worry they will always pay us a visit and when they visit us they are expensive to entertain. They drain our wealth. I am always on guard to deal with everything that might want to infiltrate me and cause me to worry.

Keep busy. The worried person must lose himself in action; I believe and exercise mind occupational therapy through meditation. Every day for 15 minutes I empty my mind of every toxic thoughts and I tell myself that this day is my day and I should expect the best.

Think and act cheerfully and you will feel cheerful. Joy comes to people who have trained themselves to act joyful. King David once said that mourning might endure for a night but joy comes in the morning; learn to rejoice and have funny. This will build your enthusiasm about life.

Let us fill our minds with thoughts of peace. Peace is what I want and peace is what I should strive for; peace is what will keep my mind calm in the face of a raging storm. Peace of mind is what will help me to conquer mountains. So I should always cherish peace.

These ideas are so important to me in the sense that they will help me to deal with issues that drains strength out of me. I need tones of energy to be able to reach for my dream so the onus is on me to deal with all forces that leak my energy bank and worry is the number 1 force. The ideas have equipped me to come up with a plan of action that will help me to deal with worry issues. The plan of action is to always have inspirational posts on strategic positions in my house that will always remind me about the consequences of worry.

What Others Are Saying

Vivian Muciri (Kenya)
Muciri.vivian@gmail.com

Serving at the Board of IIGL and being engaged with the institution for years first as a student and later as a board member. I have seen and experienced first hand the transformation that the noble institute offers to all those who take part in its programs.
IIGL is an institute that offers the students an opportunity to start a journey of transformation and servant leadership. One cannot take part in an IIGL program and remain the same. This is the reason I would recommend IIGL to anyone who might be interested to join as a student, donor, mentor or any other capacity within the institution.

Students/Graduates In Action

Congratulations to new IIGL Graduate Paa Kwesi Inkumsah!
Congratulations to new IIGL Graduate and past board president Paa Kwesi Inkumsah (Ghana) inkumsah@gmail.com who is the first student to receive his IIGL certificates from founder Michael Lightweaver in person! Paa is and has been on work/trade assignment at Mountain Light Sanctuary in North Carolina! Paa recently shared: “It’s interesting to note that one upon a time, I was Board President of IIGL. Time really flies and I figured after some 16 years, it was time to complete the cause. Well, many have wondered why I chose to delay. Let me let you on a little secret. I didn’t feel there was a hurry because the books I read needed time to actually implement the principles that I had tried and tested. It’s served me well, my life has a combination of everything you need to make a good and balanced diet. In this journey, I have learned to dine with Kings and also with people living in shacks. More will be revealed, but until then. Think, Believe and Become!”

Dr. Bruce H. Lipton
Brucelipton.com
Bruce H. Lipton, PhD is an internationally recognized leader in bridging science and spirit. Stem cell biologist, bestselling author of The Biology of Belief and recipient of the 2009 Goi Peace Award, he has been a guest speaker on hundreds of TV and radio shows, as well as keynote presenter for national and international conferences. Dr. Lipton began his scientific career as a cell biologist. He received his Ph.D. Degree from the University of Virginia at Charlottesville before joining the Department of Anatomy at the University of Wisconsin’s School of Medicine in 1973. Dr. Lipton’s research on muscular dystrophy, studies employing cloned human stem cells, focused upon the molecular mechanisms controlling cell behavior. An experimental tissue transplantation technique developed by Dr. Lipton and colleague Dr. Ed Schultz and published in the journal Science was subsequently employed as a novel form of human genetic engineering.
In 1982, Dr. Lipton began examining the principles of quantum physics and how they might be integrated into his understanding of the cell’s information processing systems. He produced breakthrough studies on the cell membrane, which revealed that this outer layer of the cell was an organic homologue of a computer chip, the cell’s equivalent of a brain. His research at Stanford University’s School of Medicine, between 1987 and 1992, revealed that the environment, operating though the membrane, controlled the behavior and physiology of the cell, turning genes on and off. His discoveries, which ran counter to the established scientific view that life is controlled by the genes, presaged one of today’s most important fields of study, the science of Epigenetics. Two major scientific publications derived from these studies defined the molecular pathways connecting the mind and body. Many subsequent papers by other researchers have since validated his concepts and ideas.

Make A Difference
Dream Team 22
Please join Dream Team 22 as our goal is to have 220 people contributing $22 per month. We understand that money is energy and that to sustain and build IIGL we need a lot of people pouring their energy into this endeavor on a regular basis. We also know that not everyone can afford to commit $22 a month – especially our students, who live in countries with economies in which this amount can be equal to a weeks’ salary. So we are offering two options for those who wish to become a part of the Dream Team. One can commit to a $22 a month contribution or to spending 22 seconds each day holding the vision of IIGL becoming financially sustainable by the end of 2018.

Will you join the Dream Team and help us create an energetic foundation to support the transformational work of IIGL? You can really make a difference in the world by making a modest contribution of time or money. To make the $22 a month commitment or a one time donation, click the link below.
