As a Man Thinketh
Assessment by Kevin Obioma Fortune (Nigeria)

1. What is the main idea that the author is trying to convey in the book?

The main idea that the author is trying to convey in the book “As a man thinketh” in his heart so is he. Looking at this incomplete sentence or phrase “As a man thinketh,” Man is basically what he is in the mind; A person is literally what she thinks; her character being the complete sum of all her thought. We are responsible of the direction we want to take and the life we want to live because the result of man’s action and the product of his thought. Man is always the master of his mind, he weed out all the wrong, useless and impure thoughts and cultivates the flowers and trait of right, useful and pure thought which makes a master-gardener of his soul and director his of life.

2. What were the seven ideas which were personally most important to you and why? List these seven ideas allowed by an explanation after each one as to why it was important to you, use example from your own life.

i. Character

A noble and Godlike character is not a thing of favor or choice, but is the natural result of continued effort in right thinking, the effect of long cherished association with Godlike thoughts. Character could be said to be a continuous practice of good moral attitude with a positive mindset and can not occur by chance. In the world today, there are many characters posses by human but the positive mind with a continuous practice produces good character, there is a adage that says practice makes perfect. Although there’s no one that is perfect in life except God Almighty. As a Christian, there are characters I posses not to please man but God and in so doing living a Godly life. One’s character should be built on the right thinking.

ii. Only by much searching and mining are gold and diamonds obtained.

These simply relate to our daily activities both those working as civil servant and sole proprietor. For instance as a sole proprietor I try my best to overcome challenges that comes my way because I have an objective goal which I’m targeting in life. In this case, for man to survive he must strive to show himself approve as Apostle Paul said to the Colossian brethren “Study to show yourself approve a work man that do not be ashamed both rightly dividing the word of truth.” Coming to my Christian life and in the Christianity, the bible made us to know, seek the Lord while he may be found knowing that as human being to get what we need in life or expectation, he/she must fight and search because you cant just seat and your objective will be fulfilled.

iii. Thought

The outer conditions of a person or man’s life will always be found to be harmoniously related to his inner state. This means that man thoughts is indispensable to his development. A man thought is what he cannot do without because as a man thinketh so is he. If we monitor our thoughts and utter them through the spirit of God to be in the image of our creator God than our thought shall be divine. As Christian, I shape my thoughts and direct it to the Holy Spirit moving in me to make my whole being more like God. In so doing, I can set my mind on higher things. Thoughts are like a garden which must be cultivated always or else there will be weed which bring forth useless result.

iv. Character

Thought and character are one and as character can only manifest and discover itself through environment and circumstances. The outer conditions of a person’s life will always be found to be harmoniously related to his inner state. When we talk about character we project forward to thoughts because one cannot possess character he did not conceive in his heart. Character is beautiful when we posses good character. In my life as a young man, people produces character that shows their end, every man is where he is by the law of his being. The thought which he has built in his character have brought him there.

v. Accomplishment

For a man to accomplish his mission or goal he must lay outside any obstacles that will prevent him from accomplishing his objectives. A man only begins to be a man when he ceases to whine and revile and commences to search for the hidden justice which regulates his life, and as he adopts his mind to what regulates factor, he ceases to accuse others as the cause of his condition and builds himself up in strong and noble thought; ceases to kick against circumstances, but begins to use them as aids to his more rapid progress and possibilities within himself. A man accomplishes his goal by directing his thought and mindset towards it because accomplishment is not to build but to make a positive end of a progress. Achievement of whatever kind is the crown of effort.”

vi. Character is the complete sum of our thought.

This implies that our thinking goes a long way in molding and shaping our character. Positive thinking is the soul of a real man as we can see in this book, in my society today even people around me that call themselves grown up men, and women are not suppose to be called men rather boys because boys allow and play with their problems and challenges but men fight, control their reactions even when they cannot control or role their challenges or problem through positive thoughts and actions, facing a problem as a man does not make him but reveals him to himself.

vii. Dreams and Vision

I grew up with this gift as a dreamer and have dreamt a lot about myself and environment. The realization of this fact has led me discover that what I want in life wasn’t what I really wanted. Since I learnt that I do not attract that which I want, but that which I am. This idea has helped me to take responsibility for where or what I am now. Every time when I go to bed, and when I wake up, there is always something that gives me strength and that is vision and dream. I know someday my dreams will become true so I continue dreaming.

3. How will these ideas or lesson help you in a positive way; both in your daily personal life and in helping you to create a better world if so, how?

I am influenced greatly by this idea contained in this book which are enormous. This book is an eye opener to me, it have turn my ideas and knowledge in neglecting my thoughts. This book turn my hidden thought into practical reality. These ideas have help we a lot, teach me to take personal responsibility for what happens and doesn’t happen in my life and also clearly states to me that am the master of my thought and the power to control my character and circumstances. I realize that for my wishes to come through. I need to put it in line with my thoughts and working hard. I also intend to reach out those my friends and teach them the value and worthy of positive good thinking.

4. Quotes: Are there any statement which the author made that particularly got your attention? If so, please quote them and comment as to why they were important to you.

“A man only begins to be a man when he ceases to whine and revile, and commence to search for the hidden justice which regulates his life.”

In one’s life, one need to step out from one point to another because it have come to my notice that people don’t value people around them or what they have until they loose it. In my life, I understand that what I have is what people are looking for just because I made a move from my comfort zone to a new environment. I became honorable in the sight of men.

“Men are anxious to improve their circumstances, but are unwilling to improve themselves.”

Yes many a person wish to become great in life but cannot build or prepare for it, thinking that manner will fall from heaven. In my life I have taught of being great both in academics and in all works of life despite the circumstances.

“Good thoughts and actions can never produce bad result. Bad thoughts and actions cam never produce good result.”

This means a positive mindset and thought can produce a satisfactory result. An orange tree can never produce pawpaw; so in life the bible made us to know that what ever you sow that you shall reap and in my life it have be so.

5. Is there anything in the book that you do not understand or are unclear about or are there any ideas which you disagree with and if so, why?

Jonathan Livingston Seagull
Assessment by Kevin Obioma Fortune (Nigeria)

1. What is the main idea that the author is trying to convey in the book?

The main idea the author of this book is conveying is that consistency and focus is a key to success and for one to be successful he/she must be consistence in that field. This also means that practice makes perfect. The more one practices the better or perfect one becomes in whatever field. No one is perfect except the Almighty God but we should be consistent and focus to show ourselves approved in all manners of life. However, practice must be compared with a desire to learn in order to excel in one’s preferred field.
In this book, Jonathan Seagull’s always aim for excellence, this is one idea that runs in Jonathan Seagulls blood. One of his statement in part one that says “There’s a reason to life,” we can lift ourselves out of ignorance we can find ourselves as creatures of excellence and intelligence and skill. We can be free; we can learn to fly, this can be said that man can be perfect and limitless because Jonathan noted that one thing about all the seagulls that were there, he thought to himself, for each of the most important thing in living was to reach out and touch perfection in that which they loved most to do.

2. What were the seven ideas which were personally most important to you and why? List these seven ideas, followed by an explanation after each one as to why it was important to you, use personal examples from your own life.

i. Being Eager To Learn

From this book you will see that Jonathan Seagull desired to be the best of himself, he want to reach the limit of himself so he continued learning because learning never stops at every phase of life, there is always something for you to learn that will guild and prepare you for a better tomorrow. I realize in life, that to keep learning I must submit myself to a mentor and a higher authority and those that I want to be like. I have been told that humility is one of the key to success both in learning. As a young man that have many dreams and goal to achieve, no matter the stumbling block, I believe is a stepping stone to achievement. Jonathan was eager to learn and later he became exemplary life to other gulls which many desires to be like him.

ii. Practice Makes Perfect

This book have remind me of many things I drop thinking that I can’t achieve them; by so doing limiting myself; of course hard work pays and I have learnt from the book that in other to be great in life, I must learn much now and believe that I can go far in life realizing the need for patience and persistence in practice in other to overcome failure. Jonathan Seagull continued in practice because he knew he has a brighter future and if he did not soak himself in the embrace of continuous practice he may lose it. Jonathan Seagull knew that it was not eating that mattered but flight, which the author states that his eyes are good on the price in learning to fly by practicing. I have come to realize that in life no matter the challenges one must be facing that we should be persistent, have focus believing that one day we will overcome the situation.

iii. Setting Up a Goal

One of the things I believe in life is one to have determination and goal for one to achieve that he/she must be goal oriented; I have a goal does not mean it must be achieved but pressing forward for the achievement is the key. No matter how many times you fail one day success must be yours. This adage that says “Ninety nine days is for the thief but one day is for the owner of the house” so Jonathan identified his innermost heart desire to fly, he set up a goal for himself. So for someone to aspire for better things in life he must set up a goal even though there will be challenges but there is a vision or dream you saw the first day and that dream will encourage you. “Flying out to his lonely practice area, folding his wings for a dive eight thousand feet, he set himself at one to discover how to turn” Stated by the author, because of a high goal Jonathan set for himself, he can fly better, faster and do all kinds of maneuvers in the air.

iv. Having A Leader or a Mentor

Having a good leader is a great thing that can happen to a man. In school today, there are teachers who are leaders while there are teachers who are not leaders. Looking from the society today we have Kings and Queens, Governors and Presidents; all are leaders but the most essential in life is having a good leader because leaders influence followers, so for you to be somebody in the society you must have a good leader. Jonathan was a leader and had won the trust of his students, they took his word serious and he has influence over them. A good leader motivates his students through one way or the other. In my life I have been able to have a mentor who guilds me in everything I’m doing and also I’m a leader leading some group of people so it is my duty to motivate my followers, correct them so that they can grow up into a responsible citizen like how Jonathan taught Maynard gull “You have freedom to be yourself;” your true self, here and now and nothing can stand in your way. Jonathan had a mentor and Kirk Maynard gull was a follower of Jonathan Seagull being his mentor.

v. Motivation is very Important

From the book you can see how Jonathan Seagull motivated his student teaching them on how to fly and also giving them hope as a leader. Chiang exhorted them never to stop learning and practicing, striving to extend more of the perfect invisible principle of life and nature. This idea has made me understand that continuous learning and practicing is very important. Motivating myself in all my doings is also important in life. I now strongly believe that through motivation and continuous practice one can achieve his/her goal. As a leader I will also inculcate the spirit of daily motivation to my followers knowing this as one of the essential tool for achievement of goal.

vi. Breaking the Chain of your Thought
Thought is the master of all in the body. Good and positive thought cannot bring forth bad result nor bad and negative thought bring forth good result. One must direct his thought as the master of all in other to produce a good result. Result all comes through action like Jonathan thought of flying above his equal by having a good thought and thinking looking forward from Jonathan point of view we can see that Jonathan Seagull thought his student on how to break the chain of the thought for them to go far in life. Maynard Gull said “You don’t understand my wing, I can’t move my wing.” “Are you saying I can fly?” this is Maynard gull thought while speaking with Jonathan. I have come to understand that the way you think, the same way it comes to you, positive thought in conjunction with effort amount to good result giving up is not an option for those who have set themselves to excel.

vii. Hard work

We can see that Jonathan Seagull was a hand working man in his day. He left the secondary aspect of his life to the primary aspect by learning how to fly faster not only to fight for food. In my days, people are anxious to be rich without following the due process knowing that hard work pays. In my life as a Christian I have been taught both in church and school that one cannot do without hard work and for a man to survive in this recession, we must put the secondary things back and face the primary basics of our future

3. How will the seven ideas help you in a practical way both in your personal life and in helping you in a better world around? If so, how?

Firstly, I will appreciate the author of the book and also the board director of international institute of global leadership for choosing this book as one among the books we are to read, most especially chapter three of this book taught me a lot on leadership, how to lead and control my followers. Secondly, I have developed persistent and consistent faith in order to achieve my dreams. Lastly, the book has enlightened me that practice makes perfect like Jonathan spent his time in practicing how to fly.

4. Quotes: Are there any student which the author made that particularly got your attention? If so, please quote them and comment as to why they were important to you.

“I don’t mind being bones and feathers, I just want to know what I can do in the air and what I can’t, that all.”

In life, for you to survive you must have a guild or a leader that will lead you or direct you at any point in time. Success can also be gotten by the full step of others.

“You can go to any place and to anytime that you wish to go.”

This quote try to tell as that man is limitless that want ever you what to achieve is in your hand. This means the level of your price you pay determines were you are going to.

“You have the freedom to be yourself your true self, here and raw.”

This means that one can start now and have a glorious future.

“Our purpose of living is to find perfection and show if forth.”

This is the most important aspect even the bible says we should study to show yourself approve. So in life and in field of study we should try our best to obtain a high standard of Excellency in our pursuits.

5. Is there anything in the book that you do not understand or are unclear about or are there ideas which you disagree with and if so, why?

Yes I disagree that perfection is the mark of Excellency. Coming from the religious point, the bible made me to know that God as a supreme being is perfect and no other person in human form is perfect. “Study to show yourself approve a work man that never be ashamed but rightly dividing the word of truth.” So we can see religiously that man cannot be perfect accept God. No matter how much we try excellence does not mean perfection rather being the best you can be despite the short comings.

6. Did the book contain exercises for the reader to complete? If so, did you complete all of the exercise and did you find this helpful?

No it did not.

7. Was there anything you need in the book that you would like to comment on that was not covered in the previous question? If so, please comment

For one to love you must give lover first and for you to b8uild friendship you have to be friend your lover or relation in my life I started early to build friendship with people and not all people but god people. Friendship has helped me a lot and have made me cross some bridges that only me in person cannot cross so friend in harmony is good.
iii. Find out what you want and look for it all the time. Demand much set a high goal believe that you will attain it with the aid of infinite intelligence.

This quote have inspires me this remind me that all my need and want that I can be able to achieve them if I can set a high goal and believing that it can be attainable.

iv. In faith you temporary relax your own reason and willpower and open you’re your mind completely to the inflow of infinite intelligence.

Believe is said to be the last stepping stone to survive in life. For one to have faith it means that what we or want but not yet seen can come to pass only if we believe even the bible which I strong believe in says that we should have faith in god in all time that he is able to save, so one that has faith is great in life.

v. From the habit of saying or doing things every day which will make someone else yield better.

In life I strongly believe that making people happen is far more lasting than making things happen and the people you make today will make things happen tomorrow
This means that the greater trophies one can have achieve is the help u gave others not the things you achieve materially. This implies that the greatest achievement is raising achievers.

vi. The time you begin to recognize that there are only two kinds of problems those you can solve and those you cannot.

Hill said we should be able to identify these two problems. This imply that those problem we can solve should immediately be dealt with by the most practical means and the problem that one cannot solve life and when this two problem are dealt with you will see that your success is near.

This will in turn help me to create a better world.

4.Quotes: Are there any statement which the author made that particularly get your attention? If so, please quote them and comment as to why they were important to you.

“If you would plant for days plant flowers.”

“If you would plant for years plant trees.”

“If you would plant for eternity plant ideas.”

This quote get my attention for like hours thinking over it and I have come to realization that ideas is powerful over others things I see as life challenges, to achieving my goals. It have come to my notice that the problem most are times are not knowing the problem because if we no our problem and share to people it is half done.

“If you can see an opportunity as quickly as you can see the fall of other you will soon succeed.”

This quote also is important to me because I have over look some of the profitable opportunity which see as nothing without known the fruit inside it is great.

“Those who do not move quickly cannot keep up with the parade.”

This is a motivational quote knowing that the world and everything is being made to imply that I should be able to meet up with the changes around the world to be able to fit in my career.

“Your attitude towards life determines your attitude towards time.”

If we can see time as one of the factors of life we will plan and direct our attitude towards it, this means that time don’t wait for any one. If we should be able to meet up with time simply means we know the value of time. In my daily life I have been thought on how to manage what I have in other to achieve success on time.

PsychoCybernetics
Assessment by Kevin Obioma Fortune (Nigeria)

1. What is the main idea that the creator is trying to convey in the book?

The main purpose of this book psycho-operative is to develop a self-image which is created by our thoughts which also lead to our actions – this been talks about how enabling none can be to develop a realistic self-image that will empower him/her to live an effective and a great life. According to Maltz states the science of cybernetic apples to the human mind. He also stated that the self-image we tend to create or reveal is caused by what our conscious mind tells the subconscious mind.
This book is also trying to convey that it is your self image of picture that see the limits for what you can be. The picture you create by our thought determines what and where we will reach in life. The way we talk, our character, attitude and behaviors live consistently with out self image through our thoughts.

2. What were the seven ideas which were personally most important to you and why? List these seven ideas followed by an explanation after each one to as why it was important to you. Use personal examples from your own life.

i. My imagination can guide me towards achieving my goal and be successful.

This idea is so much important to me because most of the things I react on, comment on is in-valued and does not align with my goal. I engage my imagination and thought in things that are not profitable to me and have no impact in my goal. Now this book has enlightened me again on things I feed into my subconscious can’t tell or differentiate between a real experience and imagined thought. This book stressed so much on things we imagine or think about because a positive thinking can not produce negative result rather positive result. Creating a positive mental picture of the way you wish to be

ii. When one engages his or her imagination he allows the positive picture of his goal to drive his imagination and thought.

This have been one of the principles that have helped me in life in being addicted to positive thinking repeatedly that align with my plans and goal. In this book, Mautz suggests six weeks of repetition. When these pictures are repeated, theirs is a communication that allows the subconscious to agree with the new images in creating a positive images it takes processes which one of this process is repetition of pictures that create that images.

iii. The mind of a human being is goal oriented.

For one to get the best out of his life. He must set his mind on things that process it. One of this is having a target, goal and focus. The human mind work perfect when there is direction and guide, it keeps some one on his or her goal track. One needs to set a target for his mind in other to possess the goal in future. In the journal of the mind one need to focus his attention on things that have value or that can add value to the mind in other to ascertain his goal. In my life as an undergraduate I decided to set a goal of early morning reading before taking my bath. I wrote it down on full scalp paper pasted directly to the door and my bed corner so that at any point in time I can view it which also rings in my mind that I will awake as early as 4.am in the morning.
Which have helped me in my academics.

iv. Most failures are caused by misunderstanding.

In this book I have come to understand that the way we react to things and situation matters a lot. This shows whether the communication was past effectively Mautz stated that we tend to react to our situation according to the Image we tend to create and not to know how the situation tend to convey it self. We misunderstand the picture we have sometimes which lead to creating an image through our thought that does not tally with the objective of the picture in place. So this book thought me very big lesson on how I can control and manage situation of things in other to create useful image.

v. Goal setting is patience

Truly speaking I am an impatient human being because I love seeing result of what am doing so I can be able to move to the next level. Sometimes in my life, it seems frustrating for me because when am waiting for an immediate results it does not come and makes me to redirecting my thinking in other to achieve my plans and goals in life. But this book have taught me a lot of things making me to understand, it takes patience to see a goal or the picture thought to materialize.

vi. Our abilities, performance can be refined through consistent practice and by aspiring towards positive and realistic goals.

Life is full of struggles and challenges but it takes men that have the ability skill to consistency practice how to suite into the challenge in other to overcome it. I learned that by constant rehearses one can control his circumstances instead of letting it control you. According to a popular American Industrialist founder Harvey Firestone stated “A man with a surplus can control circumstance, but a man without a surplus is condemned by its circumstances.”

vii. Knowing what you want in your life and creating image of it.

This is a very sensitive part in one’s life because right from the young age most of us said we will be lawyers, bankers, doctors and so forth but we grow and realize that what we said did not work out except those that still have the picture of what they want still retained in their memory and push it with hard work. So creating a positive image of what you need or want in life matters in every one’s life and pushing it with hard work is the new step or to me will be the twin brother of it because we hare plan what in life but don’t achieve it why because we don’t push with hard work.

3. How will these ideas or lessons help you in a practical way, both in your daily personal life and in helping you to create a better world? If so how?

This book, if am to say is a great lesson to me helping me to realize who I am not what people say about me, this also taught me that believers in oneself is powerful act with standing what people say about me. I also learn that anything that has been learnt can be reevaluated and challenged, and anything that can be challenged can be relearned.

From this book I have learned teaches on how to approach situation and be able to make out time to relax my body. Maxwell showed us some of this methods of relaxing. I also came to learn at time we tend to attack the situation we can in and this tends not to help us out in solving some problems.

The above ideas have helped me to improve my thinking and creativity, it have shaped my thoughts on some imagines I create with line not to my academic pursue and life challenges. Practically I have started teaching and enlightening other people on how to picture imagines that a aligned with the purpose and plan in their life. This book have I recommended in the young forum in my church so as to eradicate and plant useful images which in conjunction help in develop the society at large.

4. Quotes: Are there any statements which the author made that particularly got your attention, if so, please quote them and comment as to why they were important to you.

“Discovering you real self means the difference between freedom and the compulsions of conformity.”

This quote has made me to understand that I am who I believe to be not am at any body opinion of my being and true happiness comes form know whom I am and not being ashamed of it.

“Always remember to measure success by your on standard; not “the your mother’s or anyone else.”

“This has helped me to be able to challenges some situations that have been in the enrolment that mislead the society.”

From this quote I learned that some fingers are not equal that we should not use other people’s timeline to measure the other, particularly speaking. I have been this situation where by my parents compete my knowledge with those he think that are brilliant. From this I can now go back an enlightened them that success can not be competition but by each one standard.

“If you postpone your trip to Mexico unto you can speak Spanish like a native, you never see the pyramids of exhibition except in the normal geographic. Frankey shared this quote have taught me a lot of lesson because I live in the world of uncertainty and most of us especially I will always say I will do it vow I will do it wait.”

I will do it wait, after every thing that thing will pass without me achieving it. This book if I am to say are to reach every body and officially recommended hosting from secondary school level to university and many more (post graduates). This book is very technical in reasoning very great ideas that triggers our present situation.

“When other doubt you, mind yourself that their doubt is their problem, not yours.”

This will help me in so many ways, by reinforcing what I am doing to achieve my plans and goal without looking at people’s opinion or doubts.

“Surround yourself with people who want you to succeed.”

This is the fast, because I believe if you surround yourself with 4 wealth people time will come when you will be on fifth peoples and if you surround yourself with poor masses eventually you will be poor unlike Mofna that have poor masses, so I believe.

5. Is there anything in the book that you do not understand or are unclear about, or are there ideas which you disagree with and if so, why?

None.

6. Did the book contain exercises for the reader to complete? If so did you complete all of the exercises and did you find them helpful?

Yes some of them which I completed are. How to discover why I procrastinate.

7. Was there anything you need in the book that you would like to comment on that was not covered in their previous questions if so, please comment.

No.

Please note the following question on a scale from 1 to 10. Ten is good and one is poor.

A. How interesting was it to read? 9
B. How helpful were the contents? 10
C. How easy was it to understand? 8
D. Would you recommend it to others? 10

Assessment by Kevin Obioma (Nigeria)

1. What is the main idea that the Author trying to convey in the book.

In this book “ How to Win Friends and Influence People” the author is trying to convey ways, method and patterns in which we can make other people in our environment to like us and hence become our friends. Thus techniques taught by this author on how to win friends and influence others enlightened me on different ways we can win people for example; wining friends has to do with thinking like and placing yourself in their position to understand their feelings and be able to follow them. Secondly, in human nature everybody is important and unique in his or her own way and for us to win a friend we must accept their importance.

2. What were the seven ideas which were personally most important to you and why? List this seven ideas followed by an explanation after each one as to why it was important to you. Use personal examples from your own life.

i. Give honest and sincere appreciation

It was interesting to learn that one of the things that human being needs is appreciation. To me is like a reminder to be more generous with appreciation. I found out that appreciation give room to honest and easy expression.

ii. Admitting one’s mistake as a leader

As a leader I don’t toil to admit mistakes of my followers because it gives them room to learn more and also express themselves to me. This book conveyed so much things to me on wining friends, reading them and influencing them. A mistake is a common thing that must be engage with knowing and for a leader to understand him or her, he must put himself he must put himself in the same shoes.

iii. Making the other person feel important and do it sincerely

As I have known that mans nature is to be valued and this book have taught me how to value people in other to influence them. As a believer and a worker in the church I have discovered that opening doors for members that are coming and going out makes them feel more recognized and welcomed. So in my work with God as a work I devote my time and strength to pull chairs for the members so as to win them for Christ with humility of heart.

iv. How to make people think the way I think

In my early days in the University, one of the respected lecturer came and spoke to us saying “we are now welcome to this great institution but one thing we will not fail to understand in this place is that when dealing with the people, we should bear it in mind that we are not dealing with creatures not logic but of emotion, people with prejudices and motivated by pride and vanity. So I have learned that for me to influence someone to think the way I think I don’t need to argue his opinion and suggestions but admit that am the one faulty, which is so doing redirected his mindset.

v. Try honestly to see things from the other persons’ point of view

This Ideas seams to be difficult but it is a principle that we must learn in other to influence and not be in separation with others. This principles get me thinking on how to leave our own perspectives, techniques and pattern and focus on “how to win a friend and influence people” have conveyed to me that, in order for me to win and influence in the society I found myself in, I must understand. Some element of truth from other people’s point of view in other words leaving my perspective. In my leaving I don’t belief in these principle have being working for me both in my working place and even in the family. I now go with my family point of view on some challenges.

vi. What it takes to be a leader

Being a leader comes with many challenges and problem with one must face. For one to be a leader, he must show in one’s character, life and charisma. A leader must be a citizen by his fellow no matter his or her effort and what makes a leader is through challenges. For one to be a hero he or she must break in and out the Challenges facing him.
In my life to be a leader you must be honest with them and allow them to express their feelings and also admit their fault. As a leader that will like to influence his followers positively I must appreciate them on anything they do so as to win their heart.

vii. Reputation

For I to win a friend I must live to the expectation of that person so as to be easy to influence. There is a saying that says show me your friend and I will tell you whom you are.

3. How will these ideas or lessons help you in a practical way, both in your daily personal life and in helping you to create a better world? If so how?

The above principles and ideas will help me treat other people the way I want people to treat me. These ideas will also help me to create a better world not only that both in my daily life and association with friends. I have learnt when and how to criticize people so as to win and influence them. To win and influence people I have learnt not to argue with them but pay attention to them in other to get what they have in mind as to the steps to follow them. I have also learnt that argument may lead to do unit by so doing I can’t be able to influence them anymore because a bird that flies together flocks together.
The principles about not to criticize people in public and condemn them will help me communicate with them effectively and efficiently so as to win them as friends. This ideas also taught me on how to rebuke someone in a pure light way and manner so that they can’t get offended. I will say that these ideas are so great and have emptied in me so great and wonderful ways to follow human beings because it is the hardest thing to control on the surface earth. In addition, the above ideas will help me focus more about others in the opinion when interacting with them in other to create a fair atmosphere. By so doing I have created a better and peaceful world. Also I have realized that I always don’t consider other people’s perspectives, therefore it is a habit I have to learn as I daily apply these principles.

I will continually make people whom I meet in my daily works to be more important and valuable so that I can create a better world and also practice secret in discussion with people and also admit my mistakes before my followers which is the bedrock of wining.

In this quote “remembered one thing that the bible said, “The highest enemies is the house enemies which implies that does that are closer to us are the major people.
Who know what we like and dislike, and can find one of the way to fight us for Example when I was in the Secondary level in my academic pursuit. It happens to be that the principles of the school is looking for student that entered the school environment with contraband goods and a very good friend of mine linked the principles to me that I’m among the student his looking for which came to me a great shock.”

This statement is very important to me and some people outside there that whatever you expect from people do same. This statement caught my attention in many areas of life both schooling, working and ministering. We ought to do good if we expect good things to come to us, when serving your master also serve well so when you become a master, his servant will also serve him well.

Success through Positive Mental Attitude
Assessment by Kevin Obioma Fortune (Nigeria)

1. What is the main idea that the author is trying to convey in the book?

The main idea conveyed by the author in the book is the idea of success through a positive mental attitude. In this book (PMA) is trying to tell me that in order to achieve the success and maintain it, we must try and keep on trying with a positive mental attitude also it is explained that any achievement start in the mind, the way you think about it positively is the most important thing and directing your thoughts with positive mental attitude helps to control your emotions and direct your life. The seventeenth principle of success: A positive mental attitude, definiteness of purpose, going the extra miles, accurate thinking, self-discipline the master mind, applied faith, a pleasing personality, personal initiative, enthusiastic, controlled attention, team work, learning from defeat, creative, learning from defect, creative vision, budgeting time and money maintaining sound physical and mental health using cosmic habit.

2. What are the seven ideas which were personally most important to you and why? List these seven ideas followed by an explanation after each one as to why it was important to you. Use personal examples from your own life.

i. “How I can change my world” the world around us well change whether or not we choose to change it but we have the power to choose its direction.”

This principle greatly blessed me and have blessed people around me know this book and study this book especially teamwork, learning from defeat, maintaining sound physical and mental attitude. Among all the principle to success the above listened principle are happening to me to create a better world and have change many things in my life the way I work, my reasoning and thinking.

ii. The power of autosuggestion. In my life as a Christian I have come across many hard times and due to the wrong thing, I have seen and felt. I have so much negative unconscious autosuggestion to contend with after studying this book (P M A) I know I have to create a positive conscious autosuggestion and during the state of my sub-consciousness mind says a lot about me because it is the seat of my emotions, value and belief knowing fully well my sub-consciousness mind work effectively.

iii. Learning creative thinking from the creative thinker.

The fact that every one has some creative ability came as a result to me because I had always thought that creativity is a gift that some people have, while others have to live without it. I tried my best not to be among those who have not learned to use their creativity ability until I heard the result of my creative thinking it was awesome. Knowing fully while that creativity is learning from thinkers.

iv. The secret of getting things done. I have had many experiences on this issue of not doing things at the appropriate time.

In my life as a student I have purposed that whatever principle that I learn in school or I came across like this book (P M A) I will seek to apply them at any given opportunity. It is also important that I learn to act immediately because this is the real secret to getting things done.

v. Seeing is a learned process and that 90% of seeing takes place in the brain.

To see very well I need to have insight and foresight at the same time my challenges will be addressed easily if I am not mentally shortsighted or mentally farsighted
All eyes can look but only few can see what the majority people cannot see. in extension particularly in my life I always plan for pleasant thinking that the pleasant will address the future not knowing the future should be the first to be thought of in the present and prepare towards it. This is why I said earlier in answer to question two that learning from my defeat is among the principles that is happening me to change my world.

vi. I am a mind with a body, not a body with a mind, the body is made for the mind and not the other way around.

Seeing myself as a mind with a body makes me to appreciate the supremacy of God in creation and the importance off my mind over body. As a Christian I learned that spiritual control the physical and that, my mind never dies once it created as spirit only the body is temporal. I have learned that my mind is with a positive mental attitude, building up my mind with positive mental attitude to have the ability to control my body positive.

vii. Developing a magnificent obsession to help others was also important to me.

I know that I am blessed in all round and can therefore be a blessing to others in very many ways, because my bible tells that give, it shall be given unto to you, good measures shaken together shall men blessing you and also that how so ever that giveth shall not lack.

3. How will these ideas or lessons help you in a practical way, both in your daily personal life and in helping you to create a better world? If so, how?

This book has conveyed a lot of ideas to me knowing fully that the greatest weapon I have to use to overcome all challenges in a life is a positive mental attitude. As I said early that a lot of people around me have change their life and world through reading this books and I will continue sharing this book to as many I can reach in other to make good and wonderful life. Now, I know that I can set myself free by feeding my mind with only positive suggestions and to feed my subconscious mind with positive things in other to create a better world. Now sincerely speaking I can face life more confidently because I see people’s wrong attitudes as an opportunity for me to be more positive minded. You can now imagine a world that is full of people with much more stronger minds than bodies: I have the task of imploring others to join the party of great minds.

This means that every wrong can be turned around when we are ready.
