As a Man Thinketh
Assessment by Mbaegbu Innocent Ifeanyi (Nigeria)
1. What is the main idea that the author is trying to convey in this book?
The focal point is that, man is the architect of his own destiny; he decides the direction his life goes from the engine room- the mind- which is the source of man’s every actions, spoken words, thoughts accomplishments, failures, doubts, fears, success ,etc.
In other words, whatever a man chooses to become in his life time is dependent on him and it’s a function of how he/she utilizes the power of the mind in thinking in the positive direction to live a fulfilled life or thinking in the negative direction and end up living and unfulfilled and mediocre life.
2. What were the seven ideas which were personally most important to you and why? List these seven ideas followed by an explanation after each one as to why it was important to you. Use personal examples from your life?
i. A person’s character is a function of his thoughts.
Yes! One’s character is the result of his thought patterns and processes. No man can be separated from his mind and no character can stand on its own without tracing it to its root; thought/mind. This idea is important to me because at some point in my life, about 22 years ago, people who knew me before started complaining including family members, owing to the fact that, I took a decision that I have always been a good boy all my life, it was time for me to change and join the bad boys-friends- and start doing what they were doing. Consequently, I did which resulted in losing of leadership roles I was originally enjoying in every setting I found myself, poor performance academically, distrust from people and parents and even engaged in some banditry acts. Not until I had a change of mind and turned a new leaf before thing gradually began to moves positively for me character-wise and others.
ii. Man, through his thoughts, is the architect of his circumstance
Man, more often than not, ignorantly or unconsciously, has created his environment or circumstance and yet turns around looking for someone behind his ordeals. It is a well- known fact that, no action can be carried out or even word uttered without first existing in the mind at a thought-level. Using myself as a case study, when I was academically backward, morally dead and loss of trust and confidence on the leadership roles bestowed on me , it was a decision I took which was done in the mind and it came out as a thought which I eventually implemented that resulted in failures academically, and morally which was my circumstance at that time. Little did I know at that time I was taking this wrong decision (thought) that I was carving out for myself a bad circumstance which eventually dealt with me.
iii. Good thoughts produce good health while wrong/evil (bestial) thoughts produce ill health
A larger percentage of human race are ignorant of the power of the mind and thoughts. The very few who hold this maxim are swimming in the ocean of abundance and good health. It is no breaking news that our world today, deadly or life-threatening diseases such as HIV/AIDS and cancer kills faster those who are aware of their health status and go on worrying and thinking about it than those who are carriers of the same diseases but yet are unknown to them. The latter moves freely in a good and sound health condition.
Right thinking indeed produces good health in the sense that, if I think rightly, discover my passion in life, work towards it and become successful, I will in turn be a happy man which will reflect on my body and general health. Conversely, if I do the opposite, I will fail in life, and worry will become my life partner, poverty, anguish, resentment will become the order of the day which will take a turn on my health and it will break down and lead to sickness.
iv. Thoughts are more productive when geared toward accomplishing a goal/objective/purpose
When someone has no plan in life or at any particular tie, he tends to have all the free time in the world. He whiles away his time, other people control and make use of his time because he ultimately does not know what to do with his time. But when a man has set out goals/objectives or purpose for himself, every of his second, minute and hour counts. He makes sure that he meets up with his target and in so doing, he engages his mind into productive and creative thinking and activities which will in turn yield to accomplished ventures, successes and that emotional satisfaction and sense of fulfillment. I have excelled in life more when I had goals/targets set out for myself to accomplish than when I had no goal/target to pursue and at the end, I remained redundant.
v. Well-guided/directed thoughts are the bedrock of successes and achievements
It is a truism that when you cannot think on your own for yourself, someone else will do the thinking for you and directly or indirectly gear your efforts/time towards the achievement or actualization of his dream or goals. So the earlier a man discovers to make use of his natural abundant wealth of mind to think out for himself the life he wants the better he will succeed in his endeavors on earth. Come to think of it, no action or word can be taken or spoken without first conceptualizing an idea; it is more like cultivating a land without having any seed to plant on it. After my spell twenty one years ago, my conscious and well-directed thoughts have taken me to where I am today and I am very optimistic that having read this book, and enrolled in this program, my achievement rate will be tripled.
vi. Dreams/ideals/visions are the mother of realities and great accomplishments
A confused man/mind upon arriving the earth might think that the creator has been the one who brought in the various inventions we enjoy in the world today such as airplane, Telecommunication, internet, automobile, computers, skyscrapers, electronic gadgets to mention but a few. But unknown to him that the creator supplied mankind with only all the necessary raw materials and gave man the creative ability to shape his world as he so desired. Having said that, no invention, no matter the size or magnitude came into existence without first been conceived in the mind , either as an idea, a dream or an ideal. If you ask me, I will say our mind is the password where the Creator hid all that we will ever need to succeed and make our individual and collective world a better place to live in. Having realized that, through this book and program, I am assuring myself of leaving a print mark on the sand of success before I leave this planet earth.
vii. Calmness of mind is as a result of man’s full knowledge and understanding that he is a thought evolved being
Mind calmness is the by-product of mastery and application of the power of the mind in handling life issues. A well planned life which results from good use of the mind and good thoughts leads to the success and peace of mind while wrong use of the mind by planting evil and negative thought-seeds will lead to disappointments, failures, regrets which will in turn lead to worries, resentment and other mind unrest.
3. How will these ideas or lessons help you in a practical way? Both in your daily, personal life and in helping you to create a better world? If so why?
Having been fully aware that the mind is the engine house that determines what happens to the rest the body, I have become full conscious of what I allow to creep into my mind. I do everything possible now to ensure that negative thoughts are not allowed to stay more than few seconds in my mind and I have also allowed my mind free access to engage in heavy thought process to allow it to extend beyond my initial placed limit. With this new realization, in the next couple of months and years to come, the good thoughts-seeds I feed my mind with, will begin to produce good fruits which will eventually catapult me to my dream and desired life.
I have learned a very big lesson from this idea or revelation; “a man cannot directly choose his circumstances, but he can choose his thoughts and so indirectly, yet surely, shape his circumstance.” From the statement above, I have discovered that most of the things I have blamed the Creator, nature or fellow humans in the past were actually caused by me unconsciously through the choices and thoughts I gave in to.
Good thoughts produce good health while wrong/evil (bestial) thoughts produce ill health
This too, is a very good eye-opener to me. Most of the time in my life, I do notice that I am losing weight even without suffering from any health or medical challenge. But as a result of negative thoughts of resentment, regrets, anger toward myself and everything around me owing to the circumstance I found myself at that material moment. But with this book I already have an antidote for that.
Thoughts are more productive when geared toward accomplishing a goal/objective/purpose
Yes! He that has refused to plan has planned to fail. Having learnt this ,I have begun to always set daily, goals, weekly goals , monthly and yearly goals and tasking me mind towards achieving them. Recently, even when I forget, my subconscious mind reminds me I have something I set out to do today or this week I have not yet accomplished. Also with the application of this new learnt principle of success, I have discovered that the 24 hours a day is no longer even enough for me to meet up unlike previously when I had all the free time in the world to while away.
Well-guided/directed thoughts are the bedrock of successes and achievements
“As a man thinks, so is he: as he continues to think, so he remains” with the full understanding that a man’s success is tied to how good or bad he utilizes his abundant resources of the mind, I am now fully aware that I am in control of my destiny. Whatever I achieve or fail to achieve is not will not be pushed on any one but on me alone and I have decided to raise my thought process up so that it will feed me with the seed which I must plant and nurture until it starts producing good fruits/success for me to reap.
A man without a vision, ideal or dream is like a man who is driving on a high way without any specific location/destination. He will end up exhausting all the fuel in his car, wear his car out and yet has succeeded in arriving nowhere. This book has helped me to reach out to my real vision and ideals which was some what blur and abandoned before now and it has been reactivated and serves as a sign post to the road leading to my destination in life.
The more tranquil a man becomes, the greater is his success. I have understood through this book that tranquility can only come to a man only when he has understood himself as a thought evolved human being and makes good use of his garden (mind) toward the attainment of those ideals he cherishes. This I have incorporated into my subconscious to enable me reach the level of serenity that is much desired.
4. Quotes: Are there any statements which the author made that particularly got your attention? If so, please quote them and comment as to why they were important to you?
“That humans are the master of thought, the molder of character and the maker and shaper of condition, environment, and destiny.”
This quote caught my attention so much because , more often than not, I have wondered why some continents or countries are so backward while some others have attained great and enviable heights, while some humans are so happy , successful and full of abundance whilst many others are full of bitterness, failures and lack among other things.
At some point, I used United States of America and Nigeria and many
African countries as a case study: while the former is so advanced technologically in almost all fields of life, the latter is wallowing in underdevelopment, poverty, and illiteracy. I reasoned in this pattern that if every individual living in Nigeria was asked to just put on the only cloth he/ she is wearing and do not carry any other item and board a flight to USA whilst every individual residing in USA should also do same and relocate to Nigeria and start living in Nigeria.
After five to ten years, the present beautiful America will be so ruin that no one will ever want to visit America let alone to live there permanently whereas the current dilapidated Nigeria would have been transformed into heaven with the same abundant natural resources she is endowed with to the extent that getting a visa to come to Nigeria will now become a very serious and difficult issue just like the present day America is today. And this book has helped me to find the answer to that question so easily, which is : mastery, understanding, and application of the mind’s products (thought-seed) to mould character, make and shape our conditions(underdevelopment), environment (country, Nigeria) and our destiny.
5. Is there anything in the book that you do not understand or unclear about or are there ideas which you disagree with and, if so, why?
For me, the book is not only self-explanatory but also eye-opening and resources. I have no objection to any idea(s).
6. Did the book contain certain exercises for the reader to complete? If so, did you complete all of the exercises and did you find them helpful?
The book contained no exercises.
7. Was there anything you read in the book that you would like to comment on that was not covered in the previous questions? If so, please comments.

Jonathan Livingston Seagull
Assessment by Mbaegbu Innocent Ifeanyi (Nigeria)
1. What is the main idea that the author is trying to convey in this book?
The author is saying that Jonathan Livingston Seagull is a bird who distinguished himself by refusing to live like every other normal seagull, who believes that their existence in centered on diving on crabs of fish and bread around piers and fishing boats, but chose to pursue a different course in life which is his dream and passion:
speed flying. He refused to allow his environment to define who he is , rather he went out of his way, against all odds to pursue this dream which he eventually achieved and as a result , found better ways of getting richer foods, got fulfillment and in turn set a pace that the entire seagull is now following.
2. What were the seven ideas which were personally most important to you and why? List these seven ideas followed by an explanation after each one as to why it was important to you. Use personal examples from your life?
i. Practice, Ultimately, Makes Perfect:
Jonathan Seagull pursued his dream and in the course of pursuing it, he had fatal accident and series of discouragements but his persistence and consistence practice at different levels, made him grew stronger and better. If he had just had a dream and was never ready to put it into practice, it would have died a natural death.
But, consistent practicing even after he was made outcast, made a champion.
Similarly, in my own life situation, I have come to realize that assumption or mere believe that you know something or you can do something, without setting out to try it out and practice it, you will end up realizing when faced with that situation that you know nothing. Even certain skills or knowledge you already possess and have, if you fail to be practicing it often, you will soon discover that you are out of tune with that skill or knowledge.
ii. Strong Will and Determination Can Move Any Mountain:
Jonathan Seagull faced the kind of obstacle , disgrace and humiliation no seagull has ever faced in the history of seagull flock, even from his own parents. But because , the seed of determination and strong will is already planted in his heart/mind, even in the face of all these distractions, discouragements and resentments, he stood his ground and followed his heart. My lesson here is to be more courageous and brave in my pursuit of any course in life because , definitely, discouragement, setbacks, backlashes and persecutions must come , but if I stand my ground till the end, those who initially opposed and discouraged me will celebrate me later.
iii. Most Beliefs, Traditions and Laws Are Erroneous:
This is so because, all these years, seagulls have been made to believe that their lives begin and end in the sea shores and eating only scraps of fish; fighting over scarce food available on seashores from pearls and fishing boats; that flying is rocket science to their existence and many have come and gone, while these erroneous beliefs, traditions, customs and laws have been going on over God knows when. If not for Jon, whose resilience changed all these false ideology and today the story of seagulls have changed. I am also beginning to see a whole lot of rules, laws , customs and traditions that are very erroneous in our society and I will do everything I can , within my reach to push for a change in this erroneous beliefs and ideology.
iv. There Is No Limit To What Anyone Can Achieve, The Only Limitation
is The One Placed On One’s Mind by One Self
Yes! Jonathan Seagull refused to limit himself. He set a big goal/dream for himself which is speed flying and flying at high velocity and that he achieved. If he had placed a limitation on himself like the rest of the chicken-hearted seagulls, the story would have been same up till now. Practically, anything you tell yourself you cannot do, automatically reasons why you cannot do it will start filtering into your mind and eventually you will find lots of reason you cannot do it and vice versa.
v. More Opportunities abound up there than down here
More often than not, it is said by high achievers that at the top, there are enough space and opportunities like looking for those qualified to assume it. Jonathan seagull decided to liberate himself from the flocks at the bottom who are in their comfort zone and risked his life, his relationship with other flocks and even his parents and moved up the ladder.
When he eventually got there, he made much better friends, who took him to a greater heights and at the end, he himself became a mentor and instructor inspiring others to achieve greatness. In life, we face similar situations, and when one goes out of his/her way to move out of his comfort zone, even though he might not know where he it will lead him to, he will ultimately get to a position where others will now look up to him for direction, guidance and leadership.
vi. It Takes One to Believe In Oneself first before He Can Lead Others:
Jonathan Seagull is being celebrated today in the seagull kingdom because he first believed in himself that he cannot be living only to eat craps from seashores and boats that , there is more to his existence than just that. He believed he has the capacity to live a free and fulfilled life and attain high flight velocity which he did. As a result of this believe he had on himself which propelled him to greatness, others have no other choice to than to revere and adore him and put much confidence in him and automatically he became their leader without even contesting for it. It is an eye-opener to me to have a firmer believe in myself and keep pursuing that dream. When eventually achieved, I will become a force to reckon with in that vocation, field of study and/ or career.
vii. The Love and Desire to Give Back to The Society Always Pay:
Jonathan Seagull, having realized his desired world of unlimited ideas of freedom, an image of a Great Gull and the idea of flying for the joy of flying (self-fulfillment), he was not completely satisfied or contended until he was able to give something of the truth that he had seen to a gull who asked only a chance to see truth for himself.
His joy would never have been complete until he was able to proof to the rest of the gull family wrong and show them that, it is right and normal for gulls to fly; that freedom is the very nature of his being; that whatever stands against that freedom must be set aside; and that seagulls are not just existing to eat craps and flap their wings from one spot to another; that they can fly to anywhere and at any time they wish. Indeed Corporate Social Responsibility (giving back to the society) pays.
3. How will these ideas or lessons help you in a practical way? Both in your daily, personal life and in helping you to create a better world? If so why?
Constant practicing of any skill or knowledge or anything one wants to learn will help one become better in it no matter the level the person has attained already in the act irrespective of the profession; be it football, music, ministerial, etc. this lesson has boasted my spirit to push further in practicing whatever skill I have learned, still learning or I still want to acquire because in the process of doing that , I will discover never and better means of doing that skill or knowledge.
Strong Will and Determination Can Move Any Mountain: We all have seen what determination and a good strong will can do. On my own part , I do not need a prophet to tell me that, “where there is a will, there must always be a way” having known that , I am more than determined and resolute to pursue my utmost desire in life , even in the face of obstacle /mountain; even though they must come. I will not let it deter me because I know that there is always a light at the end of the tunnel.
Most Beliefs, Traditions and Laws Are Erroneous: We can see from this book how the beliefs, laws and traditions/customs that have been governing the seagull flocks for centuries are erroneous- that seagulls have no business with flying but eating and how to get from shores to food and back again. But Jonathan has disproved these beliefs and set a new and vaild record, law and belief. In the same vein, I am working hard to correct certain norms and belief system in my community to show them a better way to do it.
Jonathan Seagull put aside all thoughts limiting him and his life to an ordinary bird whose life is dependent on craps from seashores and boats and who have no business with flying. He placed no limit on his mind and went on achieving a feet no one/bird has ever achieved in their history. I have already started putting to practice the idea of allowing my mind to think freely and positively without placing any limitation on it because whatever the mind can conceive can be attained/achieved.
More Opportunities abound up there than down here: The maxim that the higher you go , the cooler it becomes , its true in all spheres of life. If he had not moved up he would not have met the birds up there who taught him more skills nor would he have mastered those skills of speed flight. I have made it a point of duty to always step out of my comfort zone because the other zone has much to offer than the comfort zone.
People tend to follow the person whom they believe knows where he is going for no one follows a man who has no destination or knows his way out. This fact of life pays itself out in the life Jonathan Livingston Seagull. Having known that, I am work on my personal development and building my confidence and self-esteem. They leadership positions I have occupied was as a result of the belief that I knew what I was doing.
The Love and Desire to Give Back to The Society Always Pay: It paid out for Jonathan, it pays all the time, people like Bill Gates and the rest who keep giving back to society have been soaring higher day by day. At my level now, I do all I can to support the society and I am also working on setting up my None Governmental Organization in the nearest future to help the society.
4. Quotes: Are there any statements which the author made that particularly
got your attention? If so , please quote them and comment as to why they were important to you?
“I don’t mind being bone and feathers mum, I just want to know what I can do in the air and what I can’t, that is all. I just want to know”
This quote is striking to me because, normally, mothers are known to have a way of soothing their children when things are getting out of hand and they know how best to get the truth from their children irrespective of their age, in difficult moments like this.
But Jonathan’s reply to his mum was neither derogatory nor succumbing. It is a spirit-lifting statement that can only come from a determined mind and as he said, he wanted to know what he can do and can’t do, he was able to find out and this is the spirit behind all great discoveries and inventions in our world.
5. Is there anything in the book that you do not understand or unclear about or are there ideas which you disagree with and, if so, why?
Except some bird terms I did not understand at first but after consulting the dictionary and went back to read them, it was clearer.
6. Did the book contain certain exercises for the reader to complete? If so, did you complete all of the exercises and did you find them helpful?
There were no exercises.
7. Was there anything you read in the book that you would love to comment on that was not covered in the previous question? If so, please comment?
None at all.
Please rate the following questions on a scale from 1 to 10. Ten is good and one is poor.
A. How interesting was it to read? 10
B. How helpful were the contents? 9
C. How easy was it to understand? 8

Success through a Positive Mental Attitude
Assessment by Mbaegbu Innocent (Nigeria)
1. What is the main idea that the author is trying to convey in this book?
The author wants to bring into our consciousness that every human living on earth has a mind technically called mental attitude. And that this mind is invisible and has two sides technically called Positive Mental Attitude (PMA) and Negative Mental Attitude (NMA).
Each of this sides of the invisible talisman (mind) has a very strong force that determines what a man becomes in life. While PMA side attracts all good desirable things in life such as happiness, health and greatness and comes with these characteristics features in the form of; faith, integrity, hope, optimism, initiative, courage, generosity, tolerance, tact, kindness and good common sense.
NMA on the other hand repels all the good and desirable things in life and rather attracts failure, poverty, sadness, sickness and has the characteristics feature of doubt, low self-esteem, hopelessness, pessimism, timidity, fear, stinginess, intolerance and senselessness.
Similarly, we translate into physical reality the thoughts and attitudes we hold in our minds no matter what they are. We are encouraged to develop a positive mental attitude so that it will be able to translate into physical reality. The good thoughts and attitudes we hold in our minds that will yield to good and desirable things of life such as happiness, success, wealth, health and greatness as against the negative things of life associated with a Negative Mental Attitude.
2. What were the seven ideas which were personally most important to you and why? List these seven ideas followed by an explanation after each one as to why it was important to you. Use personal examples from your life?
i. Definiteness of Purpose
It is a truism that a purposeless life is a directionless life and invariably is a wasted life. Finding a purpose in whatever one is doing in life gives the person a sense of direction and motivates him to do it to the best of his ability and knowledge. And when one has a clear knowledge of what he wants and the direction he is going, it helps the person to be more focused and pursue that which his heart yearns for unlike someone who has no purpose or objective in mind he acts out of focus and can never go far because lack of direction will discourage him eventually he meets obstacles along the way. Just like it is said “when you know what you want, you know how to get it.”
ii) Man is a Wind with a Body
I can bet you not up to 30% of humanity have this knowledge and understanding of who they really are; a mind with a body rather than a body with a mind. I personally just came to that consciousness through this program and it has triggered a lot of actions in me and will continue to do so until I get to my destination in life. Unfortunately, a greater population of mankind erroneously see themselves the other way round, placing emphasis on their body and limiting the knowledge of who they are to their physical body. But when one understands that his mind is the engine room while his body is the coverage that protects the engine room, he is more than ever prone to go far in life more than the one who sees his body as all and not relying and tapping into the power of the mind to achieve whatever he wants in life.
iii. And Something More (Going the Extra Mile
More often than not, the difference between success and failure, greatness and mediocre, wealth and poverty, accomplishment and un-fulfillment is that something more. Impatience, pessimism, myopic mindedness are responsible for men quitting at the verge of success. Only few men have the courage, wisdom, tenacity to carry on when other men have given up. This something more concept is so vital to me because I have discovered that I have the weakness of always given up when things are tougher but this realization has opened my eyes so I am going to summon the courage to go that extra mile no matter what it takes to achieve that result.
iv. Do it Now
Some of the major problems or challenges of mankind is fear, doubt and procrastination. A lot of inventions, discoveries, ideas, gigantic projects, etc in life have been left unaccomplished as a result of these negatives. So many persons are afraid to act on an idea they have that can transform their lives and that of their fellow men. Others are been dealt with by doubt spirit and I will do it later mentality/syndrome. But this do it now principle is the best antidote to cure this deadly virus that has kept so many persons unfulfilled and unproductive in their lives. I love it so much because it has affected me negatively more than anything else and as I have started implementing it, the sky is far from been my limit.
v. Attract – Don’t Repel Wealth
From what we were taught from this book, our attitudes, thinking pattern and thoughts have the capacity to attract or repel wealth and good things of life. In other words, if we develop and work with a positive mindset or mental attitude, we will always see things from the optimistic point of view and once you have the belief that you can do something, the possible solution to do it will start flashing into your mind and ultimately you will succeed in doing it but when you have a Negative mindset/negative mental attitude, your thought, reasons will be on the negative and you will always find reasons why you will not be able to do that thing.
vi. Learn from Defeats
Failure many times teaches success. While majority of people see failure as the end of the road, positive –minded persons and so many successful men on the surface of the earth became successful as a result of the experience they gained from defeat/failure. Personally, I have come to the understanding that failure teaches success and it serves as a motivating factor for one to excel where he or she previously failed provided he applied a positive mental attitude.
vii. A Burning Desire to Succeed
As it is generally believed that no achievement, accomplishment, greatness, discovery or invention in life was feasible without coming as a seed idea first.
Similarly, no achievement or success can be attained without first coming as a burning desire (obsession) in the heart/mind of the individual who desires to achieve success. I quite agree with this idea based on my personal experience about the things I have achieved so far in life.
3. How will these ideas or lessons help you in a practical way? Both in your daily, personal life and in helping you to create a better world? If so why?
Definiteness of Purpose: Undoubtedly, if you know where you are going to you definitely will find a way to get there than someone who has no specific destination.
with definiteness of purpose imbibed in my subconscious mind, I will be more focused and goal-oriented in my endeavors. My time, resources and energy is now been maximally utilized and shared so that there will be no room for wastage of either time or resources. Definitely, I will be experiencing more productivity now than before and in turn I will be a happier and healthier man.
Man is a Mind with a Body: Personally, I have not had this consciousness before enrolling for this leadership program. I never knew this great and enormous mystical power that lies with the mind of every man. My emphasis has been on the physical body but inwardly I have been yearning for the real and true power or source that great men, inventors, great philosophers and successful men in all spheres of life in the universe have used to attain the level they attained. Thank God that International Institute for Global Leadership has given me this wonderful opportunity to discover this great secret in man that has been hidden from humanity for ages and I have already started tapping from it.
And Something More/ Going the Extra Mile: Gold is among the few valuables and precious ornaments on earth yet it takes only something more to access it. If one is not ready to give that something more, he will get discouraged in the process of mining gold and abandon it halfway as so many persons have done. With this principle of success imbibed in me, my focus has shifted to the something more part of accomplishing a project. So whatever I am pursuing in life, I will reserve enough energy, strength and determination to go that extra mile that makes the real difference so as to excel in my endeavors.
Do It Now: Do it now is a strong antidote that eliminates all manners of excuses, fears, doubts, procrastination, etc. I will do it later, which is the opposite of do it now is a very serious problem that serves as a clog in the wheel of progress. As common and as little as it is been taken, it is more dangerous than HIV virus and must not be treated with a kid’s glove. I personally have started implementing the do it now principle in my life and at the end of carrying out the exercise I was astonished how easy it is to complete/accomplish that same task I was very much afraid of previously.
Attract! Don’t Repel Wealth: It is a known fact that the thoughts, feelings and attitudes we harbor in our minds eventually translate into physical reality whether they are good or bad. In other words, no man can be separated from his physical and real world because directly or indirectly, knowingly or unknowingly, his world is a reflection of what goes on in his hear/mind. Having known this, I am very conscious of the kind of thoughts I think so that I will be able to attract wealth, good health, success and other goodies life can offer rather than the negativity of life.
Learn From Defeat: If you ask me, I will say that this method is the best method or means for man to learn his lessons and make positive impact in life. Just like it is natural for men not to value anything thing he gets free of charge. This same law applies here too because defeat/failure teaches man the same lesson he learns by holding to a high esteem anything he works hard to get. That lesson is inevitable so that man will be serious in his dealing. So, I so much love this success principle and it has been at work in my life before now and I will continue to apply it to attain greater heights in life.
A Burning Desire to Succeed: A burning desire to succeed is liken to a magnetic force. Without the force or that burning passion, nothing will move the person to pursue greatness. It is this desire that draws one closer to his desired objective/success.
I understand this principle and I do not do without it because it is one of the bedrocks upon which success depends on.
4. Quotes: Are there any statements which the author made that particularly got your attention ? If so, please quote them and comment as to why they were important to you?
“If a man is right his world will be right.”
This quote to me is the summation of this whole book and the summary of man’s success or failure in life. As long as one is unable to discover that his thinking pattern is wrong or faulty and find a way to correct it or technically clear the cobweb from his thinking, he will continue to grope in darkness and keep blaming external factors for his misfortune whereas him major enemy is himself. But the moment he decides to think outside the box and correct his thin king pattern, his world will begin to take a new and better shape and at the end he will not only be successful, but will also be healthy and happy.
“We translate into physical reality the thoughts and attitudes which we hold in our minds, no matter what they are.”
This principle or law is also backed up by the Holy Book; “As a Man Thinketh in His Heart So is He” (Prvb. 23:7) and “from the Abundance of The Heart, The Mouth Speaketh” (Matt. 12:34). In other words, the heart is the engine room where ideas are been processed. Whatever is going on in there will be translated or let out as a finished product which comes out as a spoken word, an action or both. Therefore, if I want to produce a great future, I must cook/process quality thoughts/ideas in my mind so that I will achieve what I want in life.
