James Oluwanimbe Adanigbo – Assessments

As A Man Thinketh
Assessment by James Oluwanimbe Adanigbo (Nigeria)

1. Discuss the main ideas that you found most important in this book and discuss why they were important to you.

The main idea that I found most in this book is under thought and character and it goes this way saying ‘Man is made or unmade by himself. In the Amory of thought he forges the weapon by which he destroys himself. He also fashions the tools with which he builds for himself heavenly mansions of joy and strength and peace. By the right choice and true application of thought, man ascends to the divine perfection of life . By the abuse and wrong application of thought he descends below the level of the beast. Between these two extremes are all the grade of character and man is their maker and master.

I will say all this words were important to me.

All man is made or unmade by himself why because God almighty has created a man to above all things and he created all man for a purpose and it depends on how you apply the necessary application because before a man can make heaven he needs to work hard towards heavenly things and before he can make it there he needs to apply choice and true application of thought .

All also unmade themselves through how they think and how they apply their thought ,
I mean by not applying the right choice and true application of thought, and he would not be able to rise to the divine perfection of life.

How it affect my relationship.

Man made by himself , it really affect my relationship. I can recollect vividly when I was eighteen years of age , there was a particular time when we were in school then.
There was a girl that I really liked then, but then I don’t have the courage to woo her

So I ask of my close friend to help me out in talking to her for me not knowing he was
doing the whole thing for him self. So when I got to know later. Then it was too late for me because they have gone alone way, and there is way I could express my feelings any more. So when I read this book AS MAN THINKETH, so I now believe that man is made himself.

I can also relate this idea to my believe.

All man is made by himself through the right application of choice and how you build your self that is how things is going to work for you. If you really work hard for something you will surely get a good for it. And I really believe this word.

How it relates to my values.
As man I need to make all my thought work for me by application of right choice and true thought. If a man can apply this it will surely had values to his.

Another main idea that I found most important Is where he says ‘Good thoughts bear good fruit, while bad thoughts bear fruit.’ The words were so important to me because truly good thoughts bear good fruits in it all depends on man as the way I really think and the way he handle is own situation and for u as man to know what is good or bad for you and there is another say that goes like this saying as man lay his bed that is how is going to laid on it. A good work need a good sacrifice too. Because before you can make it in this life u need to go through a lot, I mean a lot of sacrifice. Because it self is not easy on it own so good thoughts really bear good fruit.

2. Can you relate the ideas or concepts in this book to your personal circumstances in life such as your relationships, your beliefs, your goals, your values, etc? Explain.

How it relate to my relationship
The word good thoughts bear good fruit while bad thoughts bear bad fruit. Is really appreciate this words now because is not too late for me to know what I’m doing in term of relating this brilliant word to use as my best friend, later we started dating each other whenever we sit together to discuss any issue concerning future she totally talk something else. I mean she talk out of point something that one can not even relate to any better thing in life, all she got is bad thoughts and according to as man thinketh bad thoughts bear bad fruit, so when I discover that if I should continue with this girl It will lead me to bad thoughts too. So I quickly left her .

I met another girl that is really right for me that has good thoughts as we talk together to know what and what we can put together that will yield us good fruit and how we can forge ahead to make it together while in the first there nothing like that in her mind.

How I relate it to my beliefs.

Good thoughts bear good fruit, while bad thoughts bear bad fruit. This words is really a words of wisdom to me. Iit make me to believe in what I truly want for myself.

How it relate to my goals

Good thoughts bear good fruit while bad thoughts bear bad fruit. It really makes me know how to think well in doing things and how to achieve it.

How it relate to my values

Good thoughts bear good fruit while bad thoughts bear bad fruit, I really consider this words a lot and I know that i really add to my values, before I have to do any thing now, I will consider the words.

3. What are the most important new ideas or concepts you learned from this book? Please Explain.

The new idea I find important in the book.
Where the words says Good thoughts and action can never produce bad result. It is true that good thoughts and action can never produce bad results , because if you want to be someone in life, if only you have thoughts and you don’t put action to it nothing is going to work out but you have good thoughts of becoming someone and truly you put It into action it will work for just as miracle.

The body is the servant of the mind.
Truly the body obeys to whatever the mind tell the body to do. Because sometimes before you do any thing has body the mind need to speak first before the body will now put it to action.

3. What are the most important new ideas or concepts you learned from this book? Please Explain.

Only by much searching and mining are gold and diamonds obtained. Every man on this hearth has a way to make it in life but it depends on how you work to wards it and how you really you really dip into it, because there are circumstances that one need s to face in life but a man is the molder of his life ,builder of his destiny and once you have the knowledge and how to make use of it.

4. Has this book challenged or changed your thinking in any way? If so, explain how?

The book as a man thinketh is a very nice book that really changed my thinking on how to apply the right thoughts at the right time and also putting things into action not only having the thoughts a lone because before you get anything you need to sacrifice for it, I really learnt a lot from these book.

5. Are there ideas in the book that you totally disagree with? If so, why?

The words says a man may be honest in the certain directions, yet suffer privations. A man be dishonest in certain directions. Yet acquire wealth, but the conclusion usually formed that the one man fails because of his particular honesty, and that the other prosper because of his particular dishonesty, is the result of a superficial judgment which assumes that the dishonest man is almost totally corrupt, and honest man almost entirely virtuous. In the light of a deeper knowledge and wider experience, such judgment to be in correct, the dishonest may have some admirable virtuous which the other does not possess and the honest man obnoxious vices which are absent in the other. The honest man reaps the good result of his honest and acts he also bring upon himself the sufferings which his vices produce. The dishonest man likewise garners his own sufferings and happiness.

The judgment here is what I really disagree with, that a man may be honest and will yet make wealth in life while those that are dishonest used to make it nowadays, like those stealing governments funds, fraudsters, sometimes honest people does not reap good at all because is all happening all over in the world, the dishonest man make it easily.

6. What did you find most helpful and least helpful in this book?

What I really find most helpful in the book is under the thoughts – factors in achievement which says all that a man achieves are all that he fails to achieve is the direct result of his own thoughts. What I find least helpful is where the author says change of diet will not help a man who will not change his thoughts. When a man makes his thoughts pure, he no longer desires impure food.

7. In 50 words or less, please describe the main idea the whole book is trying to convey.

What these book is trying to convey is that we should know how to handle our thoughts and put it to action and not only that it also talked about character, circumstances, body and health and our purpose and how to achieves all our am in life.

Jonathan Livingston Seagull
Assessment by Assessment by James Oluwanimbe Adanigbo (Nigeria)

1. Discuss the main ideas that you found most important this book and discuss why they were import to you.

Where Jonathan seagull spent the whole days alone making hundreds of low – level glides experimenting he didn’t know why, for instance, but when he flew above the water, altitudes less than half his wingspan above he flew at he could stay in the air longer, with less effort. His ended not with usual feet down splash into the sea, but a long flat wake as he touched the surface with feet tightly streamlined against his body. When he began sliding into feet up landings on the beach, then pacing the length of his slide in the sand his parent were very much dismayed indeed why, Jon, why his mother asked. Why is it so hard to be like the rest of the flocks, Jon, why cant leave low flying to the pelicans, the albatross why don’t you eat Jon you re bone and feather. I don’t mind being bone and feathers mum. I want to know what I can do in the air and what I cant that is all I just want know.

To me Jon seagull believes in himself and he does not think about food alone despite the fact that his mother was worried and told him is and feather and he also believe he can cope alone with his life without his parent consent, all he wanted to know is how to fly in the air even he has no body to teach him, he does not want to be like the rest of the flocks.

2. Can you relate the ideas or concepts in this book to your personal circumstances in life such as your relationship, beliefs goals values?

How it relate to my relationship
Sometimes you need to work hard for what you want don’t listen to people on how you will handle your life when I was among my friends sometimes I don’t agree with what they say but what I have in be your self even you have a father and mother someday you may lose them, so all you need to do be your self and what you are doing.

How it relate to my goals
As man you need to achieve what you want to achieve as in your heart desire because in life despite the fact your father and mother are no more or still alive you don’t need to depend on them, just work hard to achieve your goal.

How it relate to my value
What I believe most think of what you always want to be and try to be it no matter the circumstances that comes your way just be yourself.

Secondly where Jonathan father said to Jonathan that winter is not far away. Boats will be few, and the surface fish will be swimming deep. If you must study, then study food, and how to get it the flying business is all very well but you can’t eat a glides you know. Don’t you forget that the reason you fly is to eat? You know Jonathan father believe himself as a father because he has given birth to Jonathan so he think he has the final say on him he taught that food alone is all that matters to seagulls life and that is how they have been leaving together. But to Jonathan he has different thinking to what is his father has said to him on his mind sometimes you as man if you really know you can achieve and works towards it, Jonathan did not ague with his father all he did was nodded is head obediently but he has a plan on his mind but for that moment he has to obey his father pretending to be a good seagull. I think that is the best way to handle things among your parent.

3. Can you relate the ideas or concept in this book to your personal circumstances in life such as your relationships, beliefs, goals, and value?

How I relate idea to my relationship
Is where Jonathan father said to Jonathan to study food alone and how to get it? He try to discourage a little about flying, well it has happen to me, among my friend where I raised suggestion about something that will really favored me, all they do is to discourage me but you believe in your self never give up like Jonathan did.

How I relate the idea to my beliefs
Despite what Jonathan father said to him he did not look back on it because he believes he know where is heading to with his plan, I really learn a lot that you need to believe in your self not taking after someone else decision.

How I relate the idea to my goal
If you want to achieve in life you need to make a good decision on your own but you will past through circumstance sometime in life but with time you will surely achieve your goal but with hardworking and good thoughts and putting it to action, you will aim your goal.

How I relate the idea to my value
A man need to be hardworking and also have a good thoughts, putting it to action and also believe in your self not on somebody like what Jonathan did he did believe in what the father told because knows someday is going to be alone so he does not want to be like the rest of the seagull, sometime in life you don’t only work for money alone you work to learn and also to gain experience for a higher work and a better days to come.

4. What are the most important new idea or concepts you learned from this book?

When Jonathan seagull joined the flocks on the beach, it was full night he was dizzy and terribly tired, yet in delight he flew a loop to landing, with a snap roll just touchdown, when they hear of it he thought of the breakthrough, they will be wild with joy, how much more there is now to living instead of our drab slogging forth and back to the fishing boats, there is a reason to life, we can list ourselves out ignorance, we can find ourselves as a creature of excellence and intelligence and skill, we can also be free and learn how to fly. God has bless all creatures way or the other a man need to make way for himself because God has given you the talent on how to do it like Jonathan he knows that they are all creatures and also have a reason for them being a live they must not lack knowledge of understanding and apply action to whatever they want to do because he has the believes they will excel in whatever they do, because they have all the qualities and he knows that they were main to excel in life in term of be free and learning how to fly.

One school is finished and the time has come to another to begin is true I love this words. Jonathan wanted to learn so much in flying, he never want to give up and there is no way in life that one can stop learning life is a learning process on it own each day we wake up we learn different things, but Jonathan is going to be old one day.

Chiang said to Jonathan forget about faith all you needed is to understand how to fly. As man you don’t need believe in faith alone because faith alone can not take you any where if you don’t learn or understand what you are doing as man like Jonathan seagull faith did not work for him not until Chiang told him that he should forget about faith and think how to learn and flying, But if not for Chiang, Jonathan seagull would not have learned so much, sometime in life we learn from other people experience and apply it to our self.

Where worried that there is no place such as heaven. To me there is heaven, but there is also an imaginary heaven where there sweet home, having nice job and a luxury cars just strictly rich nothing you can not afford in the world, but the real heaven is here those that believe Jesus Christ that only get to there.

The New Dynamics Of Winning
Assessment by James Oluwanimbe Adanigbo (Nigeria)

1. What Ideas were personally most important to you in this book? Do not simply list the ideas, but explain or discuss why they were important to you, using personal examples.

The main ideas I find most important in this book are : from the first chapter , To build a good life for me and my family. This point of the book explains one of the basic expectation of every individual. It is the expected that every man’s dreams is to measure up to the expectation of the society ; in which the family duty is considered the first duty to be satisfied before any other accomplishment .

The unexpected is occurring everyday or daily basis .The opportunities are still there certainly , but you are going to have to prepare yourself differently , train more thoroughly , act more intelligent and proactively and anticipate future trends. It takes hard work to succeed . The ability to block out distractions and negative influence in order to achieve total concentration. By this a clear definition of what are disturbance and obstacle must be noted and preventive measures put in place to check any occurrence.

Champions are propelled by desire and not compelled by fear. One of the greatest enemy of man is fea . Sometimes we call it the fear of the unknown but as a determined person, the desire for victory must always be my aim and not fear of failure. This is because the use of fear is counter productive. Fear can become internalized.

Through fear you can put the drive to win in neutral or in reverse all by yourself. The entry fee for the success is total commitment. This point shows the reason why some people have failed in life to make it big or great. Some have the money and the connection but don’t consider it necessary to be physical committed to the organisation or venture. The fact that people will work for them give them the peace of mind the forces them to relax and expect returns. However , it encourages me to be actively best even though things are not working according to plan.

View life as continuous learning experience sometimes I think that by the time I get a bachelor degree in Business Administration then learning stops but it means that everything becomes a school that I have to make the most of it and give it my best shut.

Think of success as a process that you want to continue not a status that you reach once and for all .This point explains the need for me to be vigilant at what I do and never consider enough , the progress I make at a point and think I have it all under control .You need no one else to measure you or your skills .Your audience is your own self-respect .This point means that I should consider my opinion about my self very important and not what people say or suggest about me I must have love burning inside me first before I should love to other people.

Your own self value determine the quality of your performance . Performance is only reflection of internal not the measure of it . This point means I should always give best in whatever I am doing regardless of the reward . Quality is quality no matter how you look at it.

How it relate to my relationships
To build a good life for me and my family at time when I think of what is going to come out the relationship I’m into and what will be the out come of it and you know sometime is not all relationship that can lead to marriage , because everyone one want to build a good life for him and his family , so I have learn from this words , because that is what everyone need to consider before going to any relationship .

Family and we need to work towards it a good life is not easy to get at this present day , but all man need a comfortable life for him and his family. We all a need a good life for us and family , I just want my family happy all time because once you build a good life for you and your family, for you to be able to provide for at any time , this that is sign of good life , for you to be able to give whatever they need in life.

How it relate to my goals
To build a good life for me and my family , I what I really want in life to build a good life for me and my family that has always being my target ,and sometimes when you look at life itself you will find out is not easy to build a good life, why because the situation we find our self sometimes, would not allow us to do whatever we want but my main aim is to build life for me and my family that is all ever wanted in life so that I can have happy family.

How it relate to my values
To build a good life for me and my family , I think everyone needs to consider so important because if you don’t build a good life for you and your family how will you leave your happily or how will you cope , I will use this opportunity to say a good life worth to be build for us and family .and everyone of us needs a good life so that life it self can be easy going .whatever you want to get and with the help of prayer and hardworking too that is what can make a man build a good life for him self and his family.

The most important new ideas or concepts I have learned from this book are the fundamental of coping with every situation in life itself is vast as we all know in term of understanding and aside of God almighty no one person can boast of having or has much knowledge to personally tackle the problems associated with life .and we are in life to learn and we can not stop learning until dead. That is the scope one need to know to follow too so that life can be easy for any of us .

Psycho Cybernetics 2000
Assessment by Adanigbo James (Nigeria)

1. Discuss the main ideas that you found most important in this book and discuss why they were important to you.

The main ideas in this book talks about the role self-image and self esteem in moving you towards success, and their relative preventions and prescriptions to avoid failure.

Maltz talks about self-image as the key to your personality. It is the concept of whom we are created from our own beliefs regarding ourselves. In most cases is based on our past experiences of success and failures , relative reactions of people around us to it. Sometimes our erroneous mistakes emanates from our inability to question the validity of this reaction and go ahead to act on it as the true picture of ourselves and it is in most cases registered in that form.

Maltz also said that you have the power to control your self-image and programme your automatic guidance system for success through the appropriate science of psycho-cybernetic inspiration. This is the science of cybernetic as applies to the human mind. Maltz, said that self-image determines the functions of our internal guidance towards failure or success defining the size and scope of the targets of the shot called “the arena of the possible”. There are no real behavioral changes that can take place unless the self-image is changed.

So before you can change your self-image, you have to first correct your auto mechanism. You must know that it is your thinking mind that program your subconscious mind to function automatically just like when an expert is on a car race. It operates as a creative mechanism, guiding us towards fulfillment of many goals that makes us human and contribute to a rich and satisfying life which is the success we are after. It can also be programmed with bad data that can change this success. In either way, our creative mechanism works according to the way our self-image has programmed it. Most cases, our self-image starts with others’ opinion about us which forms our sense of self. Talking about our servomechanism which we confirm by acting that way. Examples can be seen in the cases of Tina who is having two left legs Brad who was not bright, Greg with poor social skills and Emily who was not good with figures. Their cases show how poor self image can cause individual servo mechanism to operate as a failure mechanism.

But just like a tape recording, a negative self-image can be erased and replaced with new positive self-image. All this can done through the five steps CRAFT” reprogramming. You can cancel the old negative thinking and replace it with new positive one. You continue to affirm it by constantly reminding yourself. You try to focus on it through dreaming and believing your new self-image and finally continue to train yourself and u need to (Fake it till you make it). Maltz makes us to realize that what you want to be is often in bitter conflict with what you picture yourself as being. like the case of Geoff’ his mind was unable to select any positive image of male sexuality and his subconscious mind, which is a “perfect yes man” agreed and complies. But by “faking it” as he grew into his new self-image, he was able to change his mind at the subcucious level. By using CRAFT he was able to create a new image of himself and reprogram his automatic creative mechanism to move towards a goal of healthy sexuality. If you put your creative imagination under the control of your conscious mind, you can erase an old, negative program and replace it with a new, positive program all you need to do is fake it till you make it” and your subconscious mind eventually get the picture and you find yourself with a new self-image.

Maltz make us to believe that it is possible to turn stumbling blocks into stepping stones by engaging our imagination. I think is the process of allowing your subconscious right brain thought to enter your left brain’s conscious awareness. After creating the mental picture of the way you want to be, you eliminate the stumbling blocks placed in your consciousness by your old, destructive image. And repeatedly practice, your subconscious mind agreed towards the new image. Your right brains are brought to consciousness and your left brain act accordingly, making your feelings and actions change and become constant with your new self-image. With this, your self-believe, which are not more than the habits you have learned, can be changed. Maltz also emphasized on relaxation as a creator of super learning which expands learning and memory capacity by keeping the left brain, the body and the right brain from working against each other thereby impending your abilities.

Maltz sugested a few techniques such as Zen breathing, progressive relaxation and radiant light. He equally made us to see how we can defuse stress alarm within us with the application of “SEEDS”. He supported this view with examples of such people like, Frank , Ted and Irene. The stressful ways they responded to problems and the psych-cybernetic techniques they used to keep it from taking over their lives.

These ideas are important to me they help me succeeded in pointing out to me that am the only person who can draw the blue print of my life that is my self-image. Am the only one who can design the plan, and only one who can decide how best to rebuild my personality to my specifications.

2. Can you relate the ideas or concepts in this book to your personal circumstances in life such as your relationships, your beliefs, your goals, your values, etc. explain?

Yea i think listening to other people opinion is very good. I believe life it’s self is a survival of the fittest , sometimes I believe we got to learn from other people experience in a way we can always benefit from it Like my country Nigeria life is not so easy here for the youth and we that we need to not give up our hope, we just need to keep on fighting so that we can get to our goals. My belief is is wit enough struggle we shall surely get to our destinations . Nigeria is not easy for upcoming youth every youth learn on how to survive wit that there is no place we Nigeria youth can not survive because some of us grow up in surviving areas and our government to do not really encourage the youth , but with all this we don’t need to keep up our self respect

Reading through this book, I can now see that the idea of not listening to other people’s view must have emanated from my childhood experience. Somtimes i always believed in my self alone but going through this book make me realise that I’m not perfect because no man can be an island on his just need to spread out your tentacles so that you can make a way life is all about learning and learning from each other .

3. What are the most important new ideas or concept you learned from this book? Please explain.

The most important ideas are in the area of goal getting and goal setting. According to Maltz, functionally, a man is like a bicycle. A bicycle maintains its poise and equilibrium is when going forward towards something.” Terry Paulson, says life is a moving vehicle with no brakes. If you spend too much time looking in the review mirror, you will hit a tree”

Sometimes we always fear that our limitation will cause us to fall therefore we result to procrastination just to make us avoid the limitation of failure. This procrastination comes in many ways like “i can’t do this thing I don’t have time”. The fear of failure is understandable. Once you can recognize and evaluate your goals for procrastination, you can put your auto mechanism to work against it. This can be done by using “CRAFT” just like Christina did .

There are ways you can maximize your progress.
1. make sure u have good plan daily
2. focus on a self monitoring system.
3. You and a friend may agree on a contract to support each others goals. Make a contract with friends and co-worker.
4. Use progressive self-discipline to stay on target. This can be done through pre-planning of your incremental goals in more details.
5. Design your own system of motivational rewards.
6. Control burnout by setting priorities. Don’t pursue goals like Susan by sending resumes to all the publishers in the directory.

You should try and allow your right brain to visualize your future success in vivid details. This will encourage your left brain to hang in there a little longer and then concentrate on the area of planning and priotizing tasks which it specializes on.

4. Has the book challenged or changed your thinking in any way? If so explain how?

This book has made me realise that one needs to be focus my automatic creative mechanism will always be there and is versatile enough to plot a course to any goal been set by me. just need to make it as an habit to apply skills and techniques i have learn so far in this book techniques I have learnt in this book.

5. Are there ideas in this books that you totally disagree with? If so why?

No

6. What did you find most helpful and least helpful in this book?

What I found most helpful in this book is the way you can reach your goals of success through psycho-cybernetic inspirations and how to avoid the obstacles towards your realization.

7. In 50 words or less please describe the main idea the whole book is trying to convey.

The idea is using the science of psychocybernetics to your way towards successful goal seetting

Success Through A Positive Mental Attitude
Assessment by James Adanigbo (Nigeria)

1. What ideas were personally most helpful to you in this book? Do not simply list the ideas, but explain or discuss why they were important to you, using personal examples.

Let’s explore the secret of success; Every invention starts with the review of past event that led to the present point. For every success there’s plan, no one can build without planning. Before I went to school I have thought of all I stand to gain and the pains associated with it.

Identify yourself with a successful image; I noticed that most of those who are successful in their life or chosen field are those who identified with a successful image of someone they read about or had the opportunity of working with; this occurred to me when I was doing my industrial training at a five star hotel. Nobody want to identify with failure especially when you are goal driven. The front office manager through whose influence I got the slot to do my training with the hotel told me how he started before he rose to the office of a front office manager and how long it took him. He said what ever I want to do I should see myself as already doing it and it help me a lot when dealing with guest and customers who can in for business.

Day by day in every way I’ m getting richer and richer; Of course I don’t have a penny in my pocket as I declare this but yet I’m better than even words can describe, to me being rich has nothing to with amount or figures but happiness beyond words it’s just a pity that I can’t get my other guys to experience this great relief, a complete detachment of mind on matter, but putting the mind over matter I look better and feel very happy with myself and thankful to God for the exposure.

Ask Yourself Question ; How often do I question my motives? Only lately did I realize that I don’t fail at anything I do, I only get results for things I do. To fail is to go to hell or be in hell because at that point no second chance, no try again, nothing to work with but pain. If people don’t accept me do not mean I’m bad or if not rejected do not mean I’m good. It start and end with me no matter what. It is not people say about me what I tell myself.

Happiness begins in the home; Only if charity begins at home.

2. Can you relate the ideas or concepts in this book to your personal circumstance in life such as your relationships, beliefs, goals, values, etc? Please use personal examples in your explanation.

Life to me is like when we all look at the mirror at different times. If a book can change the life of one person, then it can change the life of all those who want to change their life, what matters is the perception of the reader. Of course before this book I’ve read other books that addresses issues such as this but not using the kind of techniques as in success through PMA.

Let me start with friendship, in Africa and Nigeria in particular making friends has a lot to do with who you are, what you can offer, your level of influence and all that that follows. Just as iron sharpens iron, so money mingles with money. But to me not anymore because I’m going to run a business of my own and people will work for me and in other not to look down on them I’ll have to see them as people like me with blood like me who feel pain the way I do, would appreciate the way I do.

I don’t think there’s anybody out there who would like to be ridicule and yet feel good about it. Now I see everybody as a friend but I’m not in a rush to stretch because people are the ones who praise and kill. I seek refuge in the lord for all that I am are his, his I am and want to be forever let me tell you he has not fail me, at a point I lost my job and all I could do then was pray , when I look back at those days I wonder how I was eating, I could still buy a shirt my mind was not fretting over the next days provision he did not come down but he was using people to reach out to me. There’s no substitute for God because he’s the richest that is and that will always be. My existence today is by his protection, provision, care, etc. I strongly believe what he can do than any other means can do.

My goal in life is to affect people like Christ did. If I have money I would see it as God’s provision to help those in need and if I become endowed with wisdom then, I’ll teach people how to use what they have to get what they want. But if I have both, then I’ll build a home to take care of the young and help them understand why they are better than what they think. The world we live in is poison to think that money is the root of all evil but the bible made me understand that it is the love of money that is the root of all evil even if it is just a word it makes a lot difference still. People need to be told the truth, to understand that the serenity of accepting the things they cannot change and the knowledge of the things they can change and the wisdom to understand the difference is a GIFT not a title.

3. What are the most important new ideas or concepts you learned from this book?

No matter what I say, the truth is that success through PMA has a lot of new ideas but I’ll have to mention some based on how it has affected my thinking, now I see myself as already on top of my life, on top of my present condition and as a matter truth I can tell the out come of every thing I do, the reaction of people around me under certain circumstance. Again how to treat people is another idea the book has expose me to, people are the ones we look up to for all aspire to do or be sometime we allow their decision to impair our vision sometime where we fall they’ll help us get back on our feet again.

4. Has this book challenge or change your thinking in any way?

If I say I have change would you attribute it to the book or to willingness to allow new ideas to flow through? May be the acceptance of truth because my late dad ones told me that truth is a pill that is very bitter to swallow but if you have the courage to take it, it will transform you and make you whole. If I again tell you that I give a lot of thought about my health who do you think I have to thank for it?

5. Are there ideas in the book that you totally disagree with? If so, why?

If you don’t have money, use other peoples money (OPM); Although my disagreement is not in totality but it’s difficult for even family members who are willing to borrow you some money to start something. There’s so much talent in the land but no base that is why you find people doing illegal things to support themselves. A bank in Nigeria would only give you a loan if you are related to the manager or have some form of connection with it’s ownership. In the book it’s described so easy that upon reading one would just approach a bank ask for a loan to start consumer finance.

6. What did you find most helpful and least helpful in this book?

It’s hard to qualify any part of this book as least helpful because the book has been broken such that each chapter handles a part of the book that is integral as other part of the book. The book is like the human body, it carefully analyze each part for a better understanding. Success is seen as a process and not point which most us to think it is. The most helpful idea is the general knowledge and the awareness the book create for those who are intending to be leaders in what ever field of life. The prerequisites that are basic for a leader to possess.

7. In 50 words or less, please describe the main idea the whole book is trying to convey.

The book success through PMA is a book the I designed to conceive, mould, create, and maintain a leader in bit to making the whole world a place for all. To ensure that the total value of humanity is fully appreciated, to tolerate and help the down cast in the society and creating an enabling environment that accommodate all regardless of color, religion, class, creed, etc. Success through PMA is good book that all should read.

Giant Steps
Assessment by James Adanigbo from Nigeria

First and foremost I want to say thank the Mr. Anthony Robbins and also the man who has really come so far, to building up people both the youth and the adult allover the world most especially the youth in Nigeria and African at large . I’m using this opportunity to appreciate great transformation we gotten so far from your program. Thank so much Mr. Michael.

1. Discuss the main ideas that you found most important in this book and discuss why they were important to you.

Dreams of destiny – there is no journey that will have a beginning.
I was so touch when the word dreams of destiny came to my hearing I ask my self what kind of dreams is this author actually talking about not until I read through the whole book then I was able to picture out what it really convey .

I learn from the book that we all have a dreams and all want to believe deep down in our souls that we have a special gift , that we have to make a difference, that we can as well touch others in a special way and make the world a better place . But when I looked at the whole thing vividly I think Mr. Michael is a man of dreams of destiny, because he has really transform millions of people most especially in African as whole, if not for this program I wont have gotten any knowledge at all, but with all this I have gotten so much experience through most of the inspirational books and it has really transform my thinking .

Dreams of destiny the word really flash my memory as what do I really want in life as man. The book has made me to understand that is not what we do once in a while that counts, but our consistent action, and what is father of all action? What ultimately determines who we become and where we are going in life? The book make me understand that is our decision and its these moment that our destiny is shaped and learn that our decisions, not the conditions of our life, determine our destiny else? How to set your goal by setting our goals we will achieve our dreams, we all must be committed to our goals and know how to choose it consciously like the Author says that set of goals are exciting enough that they truly inspire our creativity and ignite our passion because goals have a great effect on our lives.
Each of us endowed with innate resources that enable us to achieve all we have dreamed of and more. We all should have the inspirational believe and as well as the courage and the awareness that we can control whatever happens in our lives the book made me understand it is only events in our lives that we can not always control, we control our response to them and action we take as a result. And we must learn from our mistake instead of agonizing over them because we are destined to repeat our errors in the future, we should not let our past weigh us down because success is the result of good judgment , good judgment is the result of experience and experience is often the result of bad judgment. Success comes from taking the initiative and following up persisting put everything into action and work it.

We should all know the sense of personal well being and enrichment lay the foundation for every other achievement in our lives. I believe this book has really transform my thinking on how to lay my foundation towards my success.

1. To create a legacy that will makes a true difference in people’s lives.
2. How to contribute, or who or what can you help or what can create.

Finally we should bear in mind commitment is the answer to achieve a goal. Mr. Anthony Robbins make us to understand in this book, that whatever you consistently think about and focus upon, you move toward it, he says its simple yet important way to program your RAS for success saying if your first attempt at achieving your goal seems futile, should you move on and do something else ? Absolutely not because persistence overshadow even talent as the most valuable resources in shaping quality of life and says no on ever achieved a goal by being interested in it achievement but one must be committed .

2. Can you relate the ideas or concept in this book to your personal circumstances in life such as relationships, your goals, your beliefs, your values, etc?

There is no successful life without making a relationship with other people we all need to create a good relationship among our fellow brothers or sisters , our community or the whole country at large like my country Nigeria they believe in man know man for example may be you are a graduate of any university and after sometime you started looking for a job and you don’t have relationship with people out there it will be pretty difficult to get a job because here in Nigeria you have a god father or relations before you be able to get a nice job so relationship is very is very important. Even in family business too there must be cordial relationship among the family member.

Like I said earlier there is no journey that does not have a start you need have the beliefs in your self to really make your dreams come through and once you have the belief of making it and you also show commitment to it and goal setting your dream will be achieve.

Recently I face so many challenges concerning my education, first I school as a part time student at Lagos state university but along the with my program something came up which really affect me mentally, physically and I was out of school there is one thing in me I have the hope of not given up no matter the circumstances I face why? I know the value of education, but to God be the glory I’m in the University of Lagos now. So never give up in life your value for everything really counts.

I always have in mind that I’m going to be one of the best student in my department at my university level through goal setting and I, m seriously working on it to achieve my aim.

3. What are the most important new ideas or concepts you learned from this book? Please explain.

Dreams of destiny and decision goal setting, Carl Sandburg said, nothing happens unless first dream and we must make decision to attain our achievement, and with help of goal setting we achieve our dreams.

Beliefs according to Edmund Spenser it is the mind that maketh good of ill, that maketh wretch or happy, rich or poor, also beliefs have the power to create and power to destroy. Because of their amazing influence on our lives, we must understand there three challenges.

1. Most of us do not consciously decide what we are going to believe
2. Often our beliefs are based on a misinterpretation of the past.
3. Once we adopt a belief we tend to consider it gospel and forget that it is only perspective

Questions are the answer
Successful people are those who have better questions and as a result, gotten better answers

Pain / pleasure and mental
Pain can be your friend if you use it effectively, pain and pleasure link with each other but we link pleasure to shape our destiny.

4. Has this book challenged or changed your thinking in anyway.

Keys To Success
Sssessment by James Adanigbo

1. What ideas were personally most important to you in this ? do not simply list the ideas ,but explain or discuss why they were important to you, using personal examples.

The most important ideas are secrets of Development definiteness of purpose, Creating a positive attitude, Building your self discipline, Oraganizing your time and energy, Cultivating creative vision, Budgeting your money, Perfecting your personality, Making good health a habit.

Like development of definiteness of purpose as man or woman you need ask your self this question where are you going? But what should come to your mind first is achievement, so that there will be no stumbling block, why because for ninety – eight out of hundred people simply find it difficult to define their goal and how to work towards them. Those that have achieved their success they made it through proper planning and devoting much effort and thoughts to the end like Andrew Carnegie . Most people used the idea of this very man to formed mastermind group by creating a plan.

Building your self discipline it can be through emotional control or controlled attention at work. When talk about budgeting money must include time because time and money work together I mean they play important role in our daily life, once you know how to make use of time you will also devote more how to manage your money.

Budgeting your money like what I have read in this book it make me to understand that money should spent with a definite purpose in mind, also create a budget for all your expenses and must be self discipline in sticking to it and the most important thing is setting aside a fixed percentage of your income for saving, and strong growing saving is most thing that will help fight against poverty, like sickness since you have enough saving there wont be any problem looking for money around since you have it in your saving ,making sure you help those in needs

Perfecting your personality. Your personality is the greatest asset or greatest liability for it embraces everything that you control like mind, body, and soul . A persons personality is the person. How it shapes your nature of thoughts, deeds and your relationship s with others, it is the essential that you develop a pleasing personality by pleasing yourself and others.

Making good health a habit. Good health is very essential because if you are not in good health you won’t be able to carry on daily activities as in business, etc. that is why they a wealthy man is a healthy man .

Cultivating creative vision is for you to stimulate your imagination to work towards your definite major purpose and to put the result of that imagination to work and have the habit of going through extra mile of making the impossible to be possible.

Finally putting all this together it can really help us, I mean all the secrets the book as talk about so far, but only work for those who are ready to sticky to by the principles of personal achievement and making sure one implement it. In conclusion the principle will also encourage and illuminating guide for everyone of us seeking to improve lives.

Perfect your personality how it relate with my relationship sometimes my personality is to be able to please other in anything I do, I mean how it shapen my nature of thoughts, deeds, and my relationships with others.

Developing definiteness of purpose how it relate with goal, I do have the mind there is know achievement without a develop definite of purpose, a plan for making my goal work for me, there is a question I used to ask my self every moment of my life as in where I mine going? because everyone know what he or she want in life and we all want a better things in life – money , fame , respect – but most people never go beyond just wishing for them and if you really want to get to all this point you work with enough effort and sound planning then you have awakened and develop definite of purpose .

Budgeting your money how it relate to my value I so believe that without money you cant do anything successful try to give example like may be you have the intension of setting up a biz but if you don’t budget money for it there is no way you can get it start.

Making good health a habit how it relate to my beliefs I do have the believe in mind that without a good health one can not live long and not getting things done at the right time , good health is very important issue when it comes to our life , my advise is for everyone to make sure they work on good health as their number one plan.

Faith is so important that it is actually one of the other seventeen principles of success.

Overcoming procrastination – when you are doing your work eagerly and cheerfully, you avoid the temptation to do it this afternoon instead, or may be tomorrow. in fact, you probably wont be able to wait to get started.

What To Say When You Talk To Yourself
Assessment by James Oluwanimbe Adanigbo (Nigeria)

1. What is the main idea the author is trying to convey in the book?

The main idea is that we begin this journey through the working of the mind and through the maze of possible solutions with my own personal search for an answer that not only would work , but would keep on working. Temporary success is fine, but something that turns temporary success into a permanent way of life makes a lot more sense. Living each day in a more successful is what each of us, somewhere within us, would like to achieve. There are no magic formulas of that I am sure. There are no quick solutions or overnight fixes. We are overcome with those. Name the problem or the goal and we can find the book or the advice which tells us how to fix it, or create it – for a time.

In many ways, we have care so far. We have achieved almost unimagined heights in our technology, in our material wealth. At our least, we have more conveniences, more tools, more appliances of life, than the wealthiest of kings and queens had in their lives only a few decades ago. Through our modine and our science, we have extended the potential for living more years on earth than was ever thought possible even a few generations in the past. We have conquered the shallow envelope of space which surrounds us. We have learned to manage our businesses, some of our environment, and a small part of our destines. But we have not yet learned to manage the part of our lives which is the heart and substance of everything we will ever do. We have not yet learned to manage our own winds. The key to all management, the management of others, management of your resources, and the management of your future, is self management.

2. What were the seven ideas which were personally most important to you and why? List these seven ideas followed by an explanation after each one as to why it was important to you. Use personal examples from your own life.

External solutions are temporary. Meaning the self talk program leads to permanent behavioral change, because you control all the messages – silent, spoken or written – that your brain receives. Whatever the brain receives that is what is acting on, meaning the brain send messages to all part of the body before any action can take place. Even the latest scientific developments make us understand that human brain receives and accepts information. If you want to make change and make it stick, you have got to do it the way the brains works.

You are everything that you thoughts, your life, your dreams come true. You are everything you choose to be. You are unlimited as the endless universe. You are everything that is your thoughts, what a great! Word each time I remember this statement it really touches my soul because in my own doing I always believe that everything concerning me lies in my hands, talking career, relationship and goal, anything one can dreams of has go with one’s thoughts. But sometimes, things dose not work the way we want it to be, you will want to have a good family, a good job because that form life. We know deep inside that we deserve our fair share and we have every right to attain it.

3. How will these ideas or lessons help you in a practical way, both in your daily personal life in helping you to create a better world? If so how?

* It has really help me to choose my thoughts because no thought, at anytime can dwell in my mind without my permission.

* It helps because I take my time to communicate, also patient and understanding. It is worth working at , and I do.

* It help me to focus on things I can control.

* It is what I believe about myself is what I will become God helping me.

4. Quotes, are there any statements which the author made that particularly got your attention? If so please quote then and comment as to why they were important to you.

Believe In Yourself:
As human we all need to know how to believe in our selves , someone like me I never depend on anyone for anything in life , having live a hard life from my childhood uptil now. I give glory to God for where I am today, is because of God’s favour in my life . once you have this strong believe in yourself there is nothing that won’t work well for you. You future lies in your hands, how you plan it, think it and dream it is how it will work for you. Learn to tell yourself that you can make it, and that great height you will reach one day. Remember, the aforism that says “ the height of great men reach and kept where not achieve by sudden but them while their accompany sleep where tolling upward in the night”. Use your time to think something good and positive in your life.

Keep Your Priorities Straight:
In everything you desire learn to keep your priorities straight . know what you really want and God will definitely work thing right for you. Don’t mixed things for yourself, think straight and leave the remaining part for God to play for you.

Create Responsibility For Yourself:
Learn to create responsibility for yourself by thinking of what to do to yourself that will yield positive increase in your life. By thinking of what to do that will add value positively in your life. Think of work , business, or anything at all which will add value to your life. Someone like me a night ago I thought of what to do in order to create responsibility for myself, instead of eating and sleeping daily without bringing any reasonable thing on the table at the end of the day, my thought took me to writing propsals to some of the private schools to see if they could give me the contract of typing their examination question papers for them, instead of staying idle at home, having remembered that an idle man is a devil’s work shop. So try and get yourself involve in one or two things that will impact positive thing in your life. If you are not a graduate or educated think of what business you would do that will keep you busy, don’t waste your time for time wait for no one.

Create Your Own Future:
Your future lies in your hand. How you want it to be is how it will surely be. If no one is there to advise you, you better wake up if you are sleeping and stand up if you are sitting to advise yourself, how you lay your bed is how you will lie on it. Make friends with the goal getter, findout those things they do to get to a better height it might work for you too. Read books that will inspire you, listen to CDS, Tapes of some gifted men of God that would change your life.

Focus On What You Want:
Been focus on what you want it has to come from your inner most mind , the way you perceive things and you also work towards whatever you want.

Control Stress:
Life generally is so stressful , so if you don’t control it, will affect you in so many way , most especially in Africa , almost everything is so stressful.

Be Aggressive and Assertive

Think Positively:
We are all born as human to think in a different way, everyone has he or her own believe to think other way round , someone like I think positively every seonds of my day and the avenue of maing use of my thinking is fortcoming because Africa environment is not so friendly for most ideas you have to be positive , but God all things are possible .

Real Magic

Assessment by James Oluwanimbe Adanigbo (Nigeria)

1. What is the main idea the author is trying to convey in the book?

The author is making us to understand that real magic is here to enrich our life. According to Dr. Wayne W. Dyer, real magic means a lot to human so to say by the way of acting on things we do creating miracles in everyday life. Quitting smoking or drinking, achieving new success or finding a happy relationship, these are all miracles because they transcend our perceives limitations. It also teaches us how to achieve a higher level of consciousness. We should imagine what would make happy then offers specific strategies for attaining these goals. In every aspect of our individuals lives. When it comes to finances, physical health, relationships. Real magic has helped us to be a miracle worker.

2. What were the seven ideas which were personally most important to you and why? List these seven ideas followed by an explanation after each one as to why it was important to you. Use personal examples from your own life.

In chapter 24, seven beliefs for manifesting.

A. There is an invisible but knowable life force within you meaning our physical body has it own force within us that will make us to do things or act the way we want at same way with our thoughts, how we feel imaginations, dreams, fantasies and emotions these are life force that is a part of us which cannot die.

B. Your thoughts are something that you control and they originate with you: This is a wonderful statement to me because me as a person always think a lot, in the sense that what will the future hold for me and my thought make me realized that it really coming from inside me, how to be rich, going to highest level in my career, having my own family, all these originate within me and is something I can control, to make it come to past.

C. I become convinced that truly there are no limits in thinking when still lives, because nothing is impossible in life having God by your sight.

D. Your life has a purpose is very correct, we are all created for a purpose in life, the only thing is how we can discover our purpose here on earth, like our thought, feelings and I believe there is a purpose I need to fulfils on this earth that is why God created me.

E. You overcome weaknesses by leaving them behind; you cannot get to anywhere in life. Someone like me I used to reason as if there is no tomorrow because of the tough time I have been through in life. Not until one day that a sat with couples of elders, they said so many things concerning life in general.

F. When you examine what you believe to be impossible, you can then change beliefs.

G. You can go beyond logic. I was made to believe that human being has been described as the perfect machine. Of course, we are more than a machine. Of course, we are more than a machine. We have creativity, curiosity, imagination, and ingenuity – qualities that move us to do virtually anything we set our minds. We can fly, even beyond the speed of sand, navigate above or below the surface of vast oceans.

3. How will these ideas or lessons help you in a practical way, both in your daily personal life and in helping you to create a better world? If so how?

We should appreciate the special gifts as human that nothing in life is accident, because we learn from mistakes, when I was so young from my secondary school days I used to be brilliant boy because I never lived with my father or mother. I lost my mother when I was eight years old, so I never enjoyed the joy of having a mother neither do I know what was called motherly love because I lost mine at a tender age. I was left with no choice than to live with my older sister, she enrolled me in secondary school to continue my education, so each time l left school home, I would be given an assignment to do, we call it then home work instead of me to do the home work first, my sister won’t allow me, she will want me to first go to her shop and start selling. I did that for good six years till I finished secondary school. Academically, I was affected because I didn’t have the time to read both during examination and test period. It was really tough then but thank God for today because the whole story has change my thinking and behavior and the way I do things. I had to see myself through University with God all things are possible but learn that there is nothing possible once you have God by your sight. So after reading Real Magic it brought back the memory. The book really helped me both in my daily personal life and helps to create a better world around me.
