Profile
I am Irene Dede Acquah, aged 29. I was born in Cape Coast, a town in Southern part of Ghana. I am the first daughter among two children of my parents; Mr. Samuel Otoo Maison and Mrs. Mable Bentil. I grew up together with parents and sibling in the city of Accra. My desire for working began in my early years of child development, so I supported my mother in her work as she was a petty trader. I had my basic education in Green Hill International School located in Achimota, Accra, Ghana. Having passed with distinction in a nationwide Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), as one of the best candidates in my school, I was admitted into one of Ghana’s prestigious Girl’s High School called Mfantsiman Girl’s High School located in Central Region of Ghana to pursue Agricultural Science. From high school, I gained admission into Government Secretarial School at Cantonment, Accra to peruse a program in Office and Secretariat Administration. I graduated obtaining an excellent pass in stenography grade II certificate.
As a requirement for my study at Government Secretariat School, I had my first attachment with the Ghana Heritage Conservation Trust, an NGO that co-manages Ghana’s most visited National Park, called Kakum National Park. Having worked hard and passionately within my few months, I was offered appointment on merit when the management of the Organization noticed my skills and capabilities as a young hard working lady. I served as a front desk attendant and later as secretary. Two years into working with the Organization, I was adjourned the Best Worker in the year 2012, a fulfillment which served as a motivation for others to also work hard.
I have enrolled in number of training and developments programs such as training on Telephone Ethics, Customer Care Training and Office Practice Training on cashiering as well as first aid training all of which has helped enhanced my competencies to contribute to work.
I am empathic, always desiring to understand people’s feeling and offering help thereafter. I am sociable and spend most of my leisure time making new friends getting to know people better. I love listening to motivational speakers and spend most time reading motivational books, science fictions, and story books. I am currently perusing diploma in Business Management from University of cape coast, Ghana on part time combining both work and education.
I have proven myself to be an innovative and discipline in my work environment. I am keen to ensuring organizational development, dedicated in ensuring complex task are done. I strive in seeking challenging responsibility that will enable me to fully contribute to the growth and development of an institution at the same time aiming for a position in a job that will enable me use my education and experience to influence group of people to substantially impact success at workplace. As much as I strive to achieve more success in any given task ahead, I constantly seek to enroll in leadership programs that will help me to rebuild my belief, and confidence in a more practical way for self-empowerment, transformation and development.
My long term vision is to be an influential leader, a writer and a public speaker. I have journeyed most regions of my country even though I am yet to take an international trip. I believe in volunteerism as a young lady. I have offered my time in public and private institutions to help less privileged. In partnership with selected donors and philanthropies, we are currently working social intervention project aimed at providing assistance to needy children to get better basic education at selected communities in central region of Ghana. I believe the future is exciting, especially to those who are willing to cause a change. My favorite quote is “I am capable of making things happen.” I therefore strive to make use of any little opportunity.
