Fawolu Lilian Doyinsola – Assessments

As a Man Thinketh

Assessment by Fawolu Lilian Doyinsola (Nigeria)

1. What is the main idea that the author is trying to convey in the book.

What the author is trying to communicate to us in this book is that, we are our thought. Even answers to our prayers is determines by our thought and actions, and only if we can control our thought, only if we can train our thought, everything we answer to us. And the first step to this is my understanding. Until we understand we will continue to waste our precious time. Man can build his own destiny.

2. What were the seven ideas which were personally most important to you and why? List these seven ideas follow by explanation after each one as to why it was important to you. Use personal examples from your own life.

i. Man is the maker of his own character, the molder of his life and the builder of his destiny.

This is very important to me and initially it was a shock to see a word like these. I personally, was ignorant of the fact that, as I think so I am and that I can change the situation of things, only if I can control my thought. And I see that ignorant has kept me in darkness and in a place for a very long time.

ii. Thought and character are one.

Yes it’s true. Action speaks louder than voice, because it shows to people what you are thinking. Some times when I want to pretend to people that am sick, I will just realize that it get in to me and I will develop some weakness that if not careful can lead to sickness. I later asked why, and I discover that before my action can be real my soul must receive it and send signal to my body. My character cannot go contrary to my thought.

iii. A noble and god like character is not a thing of favor or chance, but is the natural result of continue effort in right thinking, and the effect of long cherished association with God like thoughts.

Many times I use to think it is God that can give me a good thought, and I have forgotten that I need to pay my own part. That’s why I keep asking God why did you allow this to happen to me , why am I thinking this way , little did I know that I can control my thought and indirectly controlling my circumstances. Most of the times Christians pray wrong prayers and waste their time in church. They want God to do everything for them, and don’t want to take responsibility..

iv. The Gardener

Just as a gardener cultivates his plot, keeping it free from weeds, and growing the flowers and fruits which he requires, so may a man tend the garden of his mind, weeding out all wrong, useless and impure thoughts, and cultivating towards perfection the flowers and fruits of right, useful and pure thoughts: this word written by the author is very important to me, because now I understand that I can reach a level of perfection only if am constantly working on my heart and tend the garden of my mind.

v. Man is an evolving being

As a progressive and evolving being, man is where he is that he may learn, that he may grow, and as he learns the spiritual lesson which any circumstance contains for him, it passes away and gives place to other circumstances:[ It is because I was ignorant, that’s why I cry each time am facing some circumstances or challenges, and each time am enjoying I forget that another is still coming.] man should continue to learn and grow, also be prepare for circumstance, because our actions and thought determines the kind of circumstance that will come our way.

vi. Good and Bad Thoughts

Good thought bears good fruit, bad thought bad fruit: nothing is automatic. I cannot make people happy if am sad myself.

vii. Men are anxious to improve their circumstances, but are unwilling to improve themselves.

They therefore remain bound: many people made the same mistakes. I understand that if I can improve myself automatically things will work for me and my circumstance will change. I want to be free I say. Sometimes ago I was having some problem with my fiancé and I complain of this and that. I now remember that I need to grow, so I work on myself and I was able to see those things I do wrong and I correct them.

3. How will these ideas or lessons help you in a practical way, both in your daily personal life and in helping you to create a better world? If so, how?

With constant and regular practice all these seven ideas stated above will help me both in my daily personal life and to create a better world for myself. For example this idea I gave that said “As a progressive and evolving being, man is where he is that he may learn, that he may grow, and as he learns the spiritual lesson which any circumstance contains for him, it passes away and gives place to other circumstances” and this “Just as a gardener cultivates his plot, keeping it free from weeds, and growing the flowers and fruits which he requires, so may a man tend the garden of his mind, weeding out all wrong, useless and impure thoughts, and cultivating towards perfection the flowers and fruits of right, useful and pure thoughts” There is a say that practice make perfect, I just need to make use of these ideas and things will change for me rapidly. Even now things have started working for me ever since I read this book. My thought towards myself and others has changed positively. I now appreciate myself than before.

4. Quotes: Are there any statements which the author made that particularly got your attention? If so, please quote them and comment as to why they were important to you.

“Calmness of mind is one of the beautiful jewels of wisdom. It is the long and patient effort in self control.”

This really got me. It is wisdom that makes you calm even in difficult situation, but this takes long and patient effort.

“Only the wise man, only he whose thought are controlled and purified, makes the winds and storms of the soul obey him.”

This made me silence for a while. It is also wisdom that makes you control your thought.

“His wishes and prayers are only gratified and answered when they harmonize with his thoughts and actions.”

Oh my God this is touching, I never know this. Definitely nothing can disturb or worry me anymore, I don’t even need to shout at the top of my voice before my wish and prayers come through.

“Circumstances does not make the man, it reveals him to himself”

If you want to know if you are strong it’s in the way you handle your circumstance. I think at the end of every circumstance we should rate our self. Well I have a lot of quote that got my attention in this book called “As a man thinketh” but I will like to stop here.

5. Is there anything in the book that you do not understand or are unclear about, or are there any idea which you disagree with and if so why?

This quote is unclear to me “only by much searching and mining are gold and diamond obtained and man can find every truth connected with his being, if he will dig deep into the mine of his soul” I really don’t understand. And if man can do all these by himself then where is God in the life of man. I wish I can get more light to these quote.

6. Did the book contain exercises for the reader to complete? If so, did you complete all of the exercises and did you find them helpful.

Yes it has exercises and I completed them all. Every word written in the book by the author is practical and I find them useful.

7. Was there anything you read in the book that you would like to comment on that was not covered in the previous question? If so please comment.

The quote “in all human affairs there are efforts, and there are results, the strength of the effort is the measure of the result.” The effort we put in learning and improving our self determines the result we get. Persistence leads to perfection. I am so blessed with this book and it’s left for me to evaluate and make good use of what I have learn to develop and improve my personal life which I have started.

Jonathan Livingston Seagull

Assessment by Fawolu Lilian Doyinsola (Nigeria)

1. What is the main idea that the author is trying to convey in the book?

What he’s trying to convey in this book is perfection. There’s no limit to what we can learn or achieve in life, and we should not look at things with our eyes, but with understanding. That’s why we need to continually train our selves and learn everyday, in order to reach the level of perfection. It was when Jonathan look a the situation with his eyes that begging to accept defeat but thank God that he sees opportunity in Everything, and even in his weakness, he still learning. He never stopped learning.

2: what were the seven ideas which were personally most important to you and why? List these seven ideas followed by an explanation after each one as to why it was important to you. Use personal example from your own life.

i. Never give up.

This is important to me. Even with all the challenges Jonathan faced, he still do not give up. Even when his nature says its impossible, he continue to strive. When you stand out, out of a million, to do something different people will look at you as if you don’t know what you are doing, or as a fool. But it takes courage no to give-up, when the pressure is too much. Using my life as an example. When I finished my youth service as corp member I decided to go in to farming, so I need to go for training, I told my parent but they did not support me, because they want me to work in the office and earn salary every month. I took courage and follow my dream, but every day I get the worst word of my head, but I say to self, “since I have started no going back” it was not easy but I took courage, and don’t give up. Now am coordinating an organization that practice organic farming, and my parent are now proud of me.

ii. Not satisfied with my level of knowledge.

I have wanted to grow in wisdom and in knowledge, also in all ramifications of life. That why I move with those that have what I don’t have, and ask questions on what I don’t understand. Jonathan was not satisfied with his achievement, he is always aiming higher. Someone that understands his purpose will continue to pursue it, and not sit or relax on an achievement. Thanks to IIGL, for this book that thought me that i can be perfect. Now I know that I don’t need to be satisfied until i attain the level of perfection. And now I know that life is more than eating, partying and marrying. One of the mistake some people make is that, they are always Carried away with the joy of an achievement, and they wasted their time celebrating instead of them to move on to greater height.

iii. Be the one in a million, is not to get firm, but to be the best of your self.

Most times when I do something perfectly good, I expect people around should praise me. Little do I know that bringing out the best of my self is not for people to praise you or to have firm but to be the best of my self.

iv. Love your neighbor as you love your self.

It is love that make you take people along with you when you arrive. Jonathan love his people, that’s why his mind was with them, and not only that he wanted to go back, but he also want to take them to the level he has attained. It is selfishness that will not make you to help others or sacrifice your effort and time just to help others be like you.

v. Idea of not believing what your eyes are telling you.

This is very important to me. Sometimes my eyes tell me the journey is tough and rough, and I will become reluctant, to continue. Some times my eyes will tell me that if I make mistake, all this faces am seeing will make jest of me. And I could not achieve anything, and i noticed that even people see me that way. But the testimony now Is that after the reading of this book, my thought towards my self has even changed. And the miraculous part is that nothing worries or borders me any more. Because I believe in my self.

vi. The idea of understanding one self or knowing one self.

Most times I look down on my self, because I don’t even know who I am, and its because I don’t take my time ️to know. I look at other things that are not valuable to me.

vii. Keep finding yourself.

This idea is very important to me. Because there’s no limitation to what I can do or learn. There are lot of things i need to discover about my self, which this book is helping me to. And I have made up my heart to open my heart knowledge.

iii. How will these idea or lesson help you In a particular way, both in your daily personal life and in helping you to create better world.? If so, how ?

All this idea Is going to help me to create a better world for my self, because am going to practice all I have learned. Start seeing those good aspects of my self, keep finding my self, become bold, see the good In every one, and nothing can weigh me down. I am going to bring all this idea to every aspect of my life. Practice makes perfect.

4. Quotes: Are there any statements which the author made that particularly got your attention? If so, please quote them and comment as to why they were important to you.

“Get out of your natural self, there’s no limit towards what you can do with life, stop living behind your golden eyes.”

This quotes is very important to me because its true that some natural self or habit are limitations to life fulfillment. Another quote is “there is such a thing as perfection and our purpose for living is to find that perfection and show I forth.”

Most people does not know there purpose, but with this I think am fulfilled and I believe that I will find that perfection with constant training an practice.

“We choose our next world through what we learn I this one, learn nothing and the next world I the same a this one, all the same limitations and lead weight to overcome.”

This words are so big, and now every minutes, seconds and hour is very important to me now, an most not be wasted.

5. Is there anything in the book that you do not understand or are unclear about, or are there ideas which you disagree with and, if so, why?

The only thing I don’t understand is the quote which says “heaven means perfection.” Is this biblical?

6. Did the book contain exercises for the reader to complete? If so, did you complete all of the exercises and did you find them helpful?

This book has a lot of exercises to complete. One of the exercises is to be my self, my try self, here and now and nothing can stand in my way. This is very helpful and will continue to be helpful for me. No I can see some hidden beauty in my self and these book has thought me courage and boldness.

7. Was there anything you read in the book that you would like to comment on that was not covered in the previous question? If so please comment.

If I can imitate the life of Jonathan. I will be the perfect idea of freedom, and I will be limited by nothing at all. This quote that says “understand what you really are and began to practice it, One’s body is nothing more than thought itself.” This helps me to understand that our thought is very important and need to be trained and nurtured, we need to weed out the negative thought and allow the right thought grow. Also this quote that says” see the good in every one” our thought towards others also matter because it determines our relationship with them and indirectly affect our own life positively or negatively. Some people are looking up to us and they need us to believe in them.

Please rate the following questions on a scale from 1 to 10. Ten is good and one is poor.

A. How interesting was it to read? 10
B. How helpful were the contents? 10
C. How easy was it to understand? 10
D. Would you recommend it to others? 10

1. What is the main idea that the author is trying to convey in the book?

The author conveys a lot of message in this book, I will just pick little. What the author was trying to convey in this book is that the individual mental and spiritual concept or picture of himself is the key to personality and behavior. The author gave a quote “to really live is to find life reasonably and realistic self-image that you can live with” how do you see yourself, what do you know about yourself. The author tells us that you must know yourself both inside out, your strength and weakness and be honest with yourself concerning both. The author was also trying to convey to us that we are disturb not because of the things that happen to us but by opinion of the things that happen. We should be able to differentiate between opinion and fact. He also said to us in this book that we are engineered as goal-seeking mechanism, we are built to conquer environment, solve problems, achieve goals.

2. What are the seven ideas which were personally most important to you and why. List these seven ideas followed by an explanation after each one as to why it was important to you. Use personal examples from your own life.

i. Risk

Consider the risk before the wheel starts turning. This is very important to me because most time I starting a thing before thinking of the risk, sometimes it is when am facing the consequence of an action that I now remember I did not think of the circumstances before acting.

ii. Quiet time for the Mind

Each of us need a quiet room inside his/her own mind, which is built in imagination, it depressurizes you from tension, worry, pressures, stresses and strain: This idea is very important to me and very useful to me, I built this imagination quiet room and I have been using it almost every time, with the nature of my job I always feel stressed and worry, I applied this idea and it cool my system.

iii. Mistakes

No man ever become great or good except through many great mistake. This idea is so much important to me. I was brought up with a belief that you must not make mistake and when you make mistake it will affect you in the future. I was able to understand from this quote/idea that if I want to be great I should be prepared for mistake.

iv. Success

Imagine how you will feel if you succeed and feel that way now. This idea is so powerful and it has given me success in some of my project, it’s as if I sent a signal to the atmosphere that this is what I really want.

v. Response to bad habits

Over response is a bad habit which can be cure. Yes, I agree to that. I am used to quick and over responds to things but this great idea cures it with some practical lesson I got from this book

vi. Carefulness

Excessive carefulness lead to anxiety. This touched me a lot, being careful has made me not to talk in public, after Constance practice of the exercise, everything changed. In fact, I was able to give a wonderful speech in a program without carefully practice or wonder in my mind, what I will say and how I will act, I just be myself, and I love it.

vii. Worry

Do all your worry, all your forebrain thinking, before a decision is made and after making a decision and setting the wheel in motion, you should dismiss absolutely all care or responsibility about the outcome: this idea as giving me breakthrough in life and after I apply this anxiety, worry, and sadness have no room in my life.

3. How will all these ideas or lessons help you in a practical way, both in your daily personal life and in helping you to create a better world. If so, how?

These ideas will definitely help me practically in my daily personal life and also help me to create a better world, because am involving all the needed exercises in my personal life and in my social life. Because of the nature of my job I can’t just but experience new thing every day, and my experience in this book has been helping me to tackle some challenges and handle some issues wisely. What I did was that I wrote out most of the exercise in the book and I read them out almost every day and I cross check myself every time. Sometimes I do a cross checking on my bed before I sleep at night.

4. Quotes: Are there any statements which the author made, that particularly got your attention? If so, please quote them and comment as to why they were important to you.

“We could relieve ourselves of a load of care, anxiety and worry, if we could but recognize the simple truth that our creator made ample provisions for us to live successfully in this or any other age by providing us with a built-in creative mechanism.”

This quote by the author is very important to me. It gave me hope and rest of mind that I can always get everything I desire, and that everything I need to be successful is within me.

“Make long range plan for tomorrow but don’t try to live in tomorrow or in the past-your creative mechanism cannot function or work tomorrow.”

This is also important too, because before I read the book I unconsciously worry about tomorrow, but now I just plan for tomorrow but not worry myself on tomorrow and if anything I cannot change happened I get over it and don’t worry myself on it anymore.

“As learning takes place, correction becomes more and more refined.”

This is very clear and important to me. This life is full of learning experiences both good and bad, and each time we have to correct our cause.

“Excessive protection against the original source of injury can make us more vulnerable and do us even more damage in other areas.”

This is important too. Most time we refuse to let go, and this is very harmful to our life.

“The youthful attitude and youthful spirit which erases wrinkles from the soul and the face, and puts a sparkle in the eye, looks to the future and have a great expectation to look forward to.”

This also is important to me. Ever since I read this quote, I keep my youthful spirit and never think of getting old. This gives me a lot of expectation in the future.

“Form the habit of consciously responding to the present moment.” This is important to me too. I am taking this very serious and it is really working for me.

“You cannot feel angry, fearful, anxious, insecure, unsafe, as long as your muscles remain perfectly relaxed.”

This is very important to me too. It is now my habit to relax myself every minute, and it makes me happy and I find nothing to make me angry or anxious.

“All power is from within and therefore under our control.”

I really love this quote. It opens me into the light, since I have all the power I need to become what I want to become or achieve my goal, then I don’t need to panic on how it’s going to work and all I need is to believe myself and find that power within me, not only that I should find the power within alone but put it to work. A lot of people need to know this, it’s just like a freedom into fulfillment of real life and destiny.

Assessment by Fawolu Lilian (Nigeria)

1. What is the main idea that the author is trying to convey in the book?

The idea the author was trying to convey in this book is that we should follow the principles in the book and heaven will be our limit and our goal will be achievable. He also mentions that the reader should pay particular attention to the first principle, which is definiteness of purpose. He’s trying to let the readers know that definiteness of purpose is the starting point of all achievement.

2. What are the seven ideas which were personally most important to you and why. List these seven ideas followed by an explanation after each one as to why it was important to you. Use personal examples from your own life.

i. Only by finding your own burning desire will you achieve success.

I love this idea so much. Burning desire to me is like a second step to success, after you have a define purpose. Burning desire will make the journey to success very fast, because you focus your mind passionately on your purpose and that will attract quick success result.

ii. What you want from life.

If you know what you want from life, if you are determined to get it to the point that it becomes an obsession with continuous effort and sound planning, then you have awakened and developed definiteness of purpose wow this is great and very important to me. Because, it talks about discipline, persistence, effort, and determination.

iii. Definiteness of purpose makes you aware of opportunities related to your major purpose, and it inspires the courage to act on them

This idea is important. because, this book has made me to understand that if you know what you want from life (purpose), you would be able to identify your own opportunity that is related to your own major purpose and be able to make good use of the opportunity. It is those that have not identify his/her purpose that go for any opportunity that comes by.

iv. The more generous you are, the more help you will get.

This idea is important to me. I know someone that is very close to me. This person is very generous. I discover that naturally he would never beg for help from people before he gets it, people are willing to help him and in fact some people go extra miles to help him. He is my mentor and ever since I follow him I get help so easily. This idea is true and so real.

v. Positive mental attitude is the right mental attitude in any given situation

This is very important to me. I have started developing the principle and it works. PMA attract possibility, and opens door. Our feelings can lift us to great achievements or hurl us down to defeat, we owe it to ourselves to understand and control them: I love this idea and it is very important to me. Because, no body determines your success or defeat, you determine it.

vi. When defeat overtakes you don’t spend your time counting your losses.

Save it to count your gain and assets and you will realize that they are greater than any loss you have suffered: this is a wonderful idea that has worked and still working for me. If you need to examine your loss, examine it for the lesson. Everybody face loss in one point of our life, you just have to learn from it and move on. You don’t need to waste your time talking about it or counting the loss.

vii. “When defeat overtakes you don’t spend your time counting your losses. Save it to count your gain and assets and you will realize that they are greater than any loss you have suffered.”

If you don’t have control over your habit you can’t be successful. To be successful means to be consequently discipline. This quote is important.

“Put ideas and your definiteness of purpose to work”

This is a wonderful quote. A lot of people will say they have an idea or they have a vision, but unfortunately it becomes a dream. They keep talking about it and never think they can start planning or working towards making it a reality.

“Our real wealth is the intangible power of thought.”

This quote is important to me and this book make me to understand that wealth comes from within.

“Successful people reach decisions definitely and quickly.”

I now understand that those people that are successful were able to define their purpose, and they put to action their ideas.

“Try smiling the next time you’re angry, this simple action is calming and it’s a reminder of the positive focus you want in your mental attitude.”

This quote is important to me. To have a positive mental attitude is a consistence habit with focus. When I started cultivating this habit, it was a little bit difficult. But I was determined and consistently focus on my goal of having a positive mental attitude towards everything I do.

“Personal initiative means doing what need to be done without being told.”

I really love this quote. After reading this quote I was able to understand that adding personal initiative to my work or anything I found worth doing will assist me in going extra miles and also quick success.

ii. Your Mind and dominating influences

Your mind is so subject to the dominating influences in your environment, you must take control over those influences in your environment by developing beneficial mental habit (controlled habit): This is most important and miraculous. Things get to me easily and take control of my thinking, change my attitude negatively. But after I read this idea, I got liberated and because am in control of my thought, I deliberately take control of those negative influences in my environment. This is what I do, when my environment is influencing my mind. I shift my talisman to PMA and I say things like “am in charge” “am better than this” with control attention.

iii. Don’t let your mental attitude make you a “has been”

This idea is key, and very important to me. And I think it requires regular use of self-motivator to keep you on the track.

This is very important. Only if we can pray with faith. Anything that is worth having is worth praying for.

I have a lot of ideas that are very important to me in the book. Have written them out and include them in my daily activities. These ideas will definitely help me practically in my daily personal life and also help me to create a better world, because am involving all the needed ideas in my personal life and in my social life. Because of the nature of my job I can’t just but experience new thing every day, and my experience in this book has been helping me to tackle some challenges and handle some issues wisely. What I did was that I wrote out most of the ideas, exercise and lesson in the book and I read them out almost every day and I cross check myself every time. Sometimes I do a cross checking on my bed before I sleep at night.

4. Quotes: Are there any statements which the author made, that particularly got your attention? If so, please quote them and comment as to why they were important to you.

“You have to be bold enough to ask of life more than you may right now feel you are worth.”

Life is so dynamic and you can’t know how it will handle you the next time. Now I know I have a choice and all I need is boldness to ask from life what I want. Sometimes I find myself in a situation where by I think I have no choice even though I know all is needed is boldness, and what I do is to pray that God should help me. This quote really got me.

“What a mind of a man can conceive and believe the mind of a man can achieve with PMA.”

This quote is important. Now I know the power of the mind and am really trying to use it to attract good and beautiful things and also trying as much as possible not to think negatively and because some negative thought can unconsciously come to mind, what I do is that when negative thought comes to my mind I consciously and deliberately change my TALISMA to good thought.
“To become enthusiastic, act enthusiastically.”

Thank God for my job, which am using as a platform to build, develop and also helping me to put to practice what have learnt from this book and IIGL books in general.

“It is in quiet that our best ideas occur to us.” As a program coordinator and an Administrative Officer of “Springboard,” where I work. I really need to come up with great ideas, and I get my ideas when am alone in my room. I even go to the extent of going far from home or where I can be distracted so that I can get my ideas. And each time I table my ideas to my boss, he is always impressed and out of my five ideas he will choose four.

“The secret of getting things done is do it now.”

Like seriously this quote is important to me. And I have really use this quote several time to get a lot of things done on time. Some times when I wake up in the morning, I don’t feel like getting up and it has made me late to the office or probably don’t eat or take food to the office. But after I read this quote I unconsciously remember it and stand up immediately to do what I need to do.

“Keep your mind on immediate, intermediate and distant desirable objective.”

This idea is achievable but I think I have to be deliberately be keeping my mind on these things for me to be used to it.

“When a man with PMA is faced with a serious personal problem, self-motivators flash from the subconscious to the conscious to aid them.” Yes, that’s true. I wrote down some self-motivator I read from this book and I have been using them wisely and it is really keeping me going and reminds me of the hope I have in Christ Jesus.

5. Is there anything in the book that you do not understand or are unclear about, or are there ideas which you disagree with and, if so, why?

How to Win Friends and Influence People
Assessment by Fawolu Lilian (Nigeria)

1. What is the main idea that the author is trying to convey in the book?

The idea the author was trying to convey in this book is that, there’s no body we cannot make friends with, only to study them and apply the techniques needed at the right time. Although the author also lay emphasis on the fact that dealing with people is probably the biggest problem we all face especially if you are in business.

2. What are the seven ideas which were personally most important to you and why. List these seven ideas followed by an explanation after each one as to why it was important to you. Use personal examples from your own life.

i. Appreciation got results where criticism and ridicule failed

This is important because I have applied it to my relationship with people especially at my place of work and I realize that it has power. Appreciation has its own power. Right now people around me knows I am very good in appreciating things. Sometimes I even send messages or call the staffs to appreciate them for the work well done. Even when you did not do very well, I will still appreciate your effort so far, and encourage you not to criticize you.

ii. Doing things for other people

An idea like “If you want to make friends, let’s put our self out to do things for other people, things that require time, energy unselfishness and thoughtfulness.” is important to me. I see that helping people is like telling them that they are important and they can see you as their friend.

iii. Understanding other people

This idea is important too “people who can put themselves in the place of other people, who can understand the working of their mind need never worry about what the future has in store for them.” This book has open my eyes to the fact that sharing peoples pain and the power of the mind can give you assurance of better future.

iv. Happiness doesn’t depend on outward conditions it depends on inward condition

This is a very important idea have met in every IIGL Books have read. I discover that each time I concentrate my attention on that inward beauty I become happy in respect of anything am facing in the outward.

v. Happiness vs. unhappiness

I fell in love with this idea when I came across it. “It isn’t what you have or who you are or where you are or what you are doing that makes happy or unhappy. It is what you think about it”. Positive Mental attitude is important in this journey. I have decided to look at situation around me with positive eyes.

vi. Do not fear being understood and do not waste your time thinking about your enemies

This is key. Before, I use to try so hard to make sure people understand me and It pissed me off when they don’t or seams not to understand me. But this idea now opens my eyes to the fact that some people are just in your life not to understand you and no matter how you want them to understand you if they don’t want to, they won’t. It’s just like wasting of time.

vii. Greeting People

This is also one of the ideas that is also important to me. “If you want to make a friend. let greet people with animation and enthusiasm.” I discover that each time I carry enthusiasm to work, everyone would be friendly and even the environment would become homely and friendly to me. In fact, things would start working out for me.

3. How will all these ideas or lessons help you in a practical way, both in your daily personal life and in helping you to create a better world, if so, how?

These ideas will definitely help me practically in my daily personal life and also help me to create a better world, because am involving all the needed ideas in my personal life and in my social life. Because of the nature of my job I can’t just but experience new things every day, and my experience in this book has been helping me to tackle some challenges and handle some issues wisely. In fact, am even using my work environment as a platform for me to put what I have learnt and these ideas to work. What I did was that I write out most of the ideas, exercise and lesson in the book and I read them out almost every day and I cross check myself every time. Sometimes I do a cross checking on my bed before I sleep at night, or ask someone I can trust to evaluate me. This is how I do it, before I sleep I try to recall my attitude during the day and see if unconsciously react to things the way I have learned in the book.

4. Quotes: Are there any statements which the author made, that particularly got your attention? If so, please quote them and comment as to why they were important to you.

“Do not fear being understood and do not waste your time thinking about your enemies.”

This quote got me. I realize that most of us put too much thought on our enemies or what they do to us. This quote helped me in my trials and challenges.

“There’s is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so.”

This quote is important to me because our thought can change a lot of things and situations for us. I use consciously use this principle when some time ago and I find peace in my heart till the situation was solved.

“Remember that a person’s name is to the person the sweetest and most important sound in any language.”

This is a wonderful quote. A lot of I forget peoples name, but this quote has thought me the importance of remembering peoples name.

“Be a good listener, encourage others to talk about themselves.”

This quote is important to me and am trying so hard to cultivate the habit. I know have not been a good listener, I can say that am doing better now after I came across this quote in this book.

“Begin in a friendly way.”

Now I know that any impression am to give to any one for the first time must be friendly. First impression last longer they say. This quote is important to me because I am carefully involving it in my daily activities and my relationship with others.

“One thing I know and that is that I know nothing.”

This is important to me. For me to grow and to be better is to open my mind to knowledge and I cannot do that if I think I know. With this quote I have been able to relate with a lot of people and there is an adage that says that nobody is an island of knowledge.

“The only way to get the best of an argument is to avoid it.”

With this quote I understand that avoiding an argument does not mean you are stupid or you cannot talk, I call it wisdom.

“You cannot teach a man anything, you can only help him to find it within himself.”

I love this quote so much because it teaches love. I use this quote sometimes and it helps and people have confidence in me.

5. Is there anything in the book that you do not understand or are unclear about, or are there any ideas which you disagree with, if so why?

Awaken the Giant Within
Assessment by Fawolu Lilian (Nigeria)

1. What is the main idea that the author is trying to convey in the book?

The idea the author was trying to convey in this book is that, we all have great potential great gift within us, but it’s our responsibility to discover those gift and potentials. And that we all have unlimited power to make a difference, to live a fulfilled life, but we just have to wake those powers, giants within us.

2. What are the seven ideas which were personally most important to you and why. List these seven ideas followed by an explanation after each one as to why it was important to you. Use personal examples from your own life.

i. The best strategy is to find your role model

This is an important idea. The author even say further that your role model must be someone who is already getting the results you want and then tap into their knowledge, learn what they’re doing, what their core believes are, and how they think. This strategy is the best because it will help you to see their mistakes, failure and you will not want to make the same, and also see their success and unconsciously replicate it and do better.

ii. Raising your Standards

If you raise your standards but don’t really believe you can meet them, you’ve already sabotaged yourself. I think in one point or the other we all experience this. Even Anthony Robins has once thought that life doesn’t matter. But I have learned that my life is in my hands, and I can boldly ask of life more than I may right now feel I worth. The first step to fail is to doubt yourself in your mind or don’t believe in yourself.

iii. Changes can have true value.

For changes to be of any true value, they’ve got to be lasting and consistent: everybody wants to make a change but in one point we get tired. The most effective change is the one that last for long. Making a change in our lives requires consistency. This idea is key and important.

iv. Different actions produce different results

You can’t do things differently and expect the same result.

v. Taking Control

If we want to direct our lives we must take control of our consistent action: we own our life and we must be consistently being in control at all times.

vi. The mark of a champion is consistency

True consistency is established by our habits: we don’t just want to feel happy or joyous, we don’t just want to experience success. We all want consistency. This idea is important because, I’ve learnt and my eyes are opened to the fact that my habit determines the result I get on a daily basis.

vii. Same Patterns of Thinking

In order to take our lives to the next level, however, we must realize that the same pattern of thinking that has gotten us to where we are will not get us to where we want to go: new level of thinking is required every time to achieve new and difference success. We need to brake all chains that tie our mind to the old pattern.

3. How will all these ideas or lessons help you in a practical way, both in your daily personal life and in helping you to create a better world, if so, how?

These ideas will definitely help me practically in my daily personal life, help me to create a better world for myself and my environment, and also help me to wake the giants within. Because am involving all the needed ideas in my personal life and in my social life. Am consciously looking inward, am unconsciously given my best. Because the book has helped me to believe in myself that that there’s no limit to what I can do, and has thought me the techniques I can use in other to discover the God given potential and maximize them. Because of the nature of my job I can’t just but experience new things every day, and my experience in this book has been helping me to take control of some external factors positively. To always tackle some challenges and handle some issues wisely. In fact, am even using my work environment as a platform for me to put what I have learnt and these ideas to work. What I did was that I write most of the ideas, exercise and lesson in the book and I read them out almost every day and I cross check myself every time.

“I’ll never forget the day it really hit me that I was truly living my dream.”

This statement got my attention. I can’t imagine how I will feel the day I see myself living towards living my dream. I can’t imagine the joy that will fill my heart the day it will done on me that I have arrived. The statement photo snaps my future!

“What a feeling to know that beyond a shadow of a doubt I had the information, strategies, philosophies, and skills that could assist any one of these people in empowering themselves to make the changes they desired most!”

This is exact way I will feel some days. Before I read this book, I wrote it down in my jotter that one day I will say that “despite the doubt and fear I eventually achieve all my dreams, bringing out the best in our youth, seeing them putting their lives in their hands.” These statements got me.

“A tear slid down my cheek as I thanked my Creator for these wonderful gifts.”

This quote really got me too. Because it charged me to awake of those giants, those gift, those potentials in me. I felt like I want to do more.

“I decided many years ago that the most important way I could spend my life would be to invest it in something that would outlast it.”

“I decided that somehow I must contribute in some way that would live on long after I was gone.”

The life of the author Anthony Robbins inspires me. Sometimes ago in my life, I stopped writing or submitting application letter to offices. I felt like my life worth more, I felt like the world is waiting for me, and my prayer points changed, I want to make a change, I want to give back to my society, I felt that am hungry. And to my surprise, everything starts to work to the direction of achieving my dream. These quotes by the author got my attention.

“When people ask me what really changed my life eight years ago, I tell them that absolutely the most important thing was changing what I demanded of myself.”

This hit me too, because two years ago, I don’t know what I want from life. I accept everything life throws at me. Although I was not happy, but I was just moving with the wave. But now I clearly know what I want, I know the opportunity that is meant for me.

“Scramble the disempowering feelings until they no longer come up.”

I love the lessons/steps the author gave, it’s fun and effective. In fact, very funny and with no time your sensation will change and you can move on with the day. I have not tried it, but am looking forward to try it.

5. Is there anything in the book that you do not understand or are unclear about, or are there any ideas which you disagree with, if so why?

I can say I understand everything in the book, and nothing is unclear to me. The book is very interesting, I really understand everything writing in the book. The book is affecting every area of my life positively. It really does.

6. Did the book contain exercises for the reader to complete? If so, did you complete all of the exercises and did you find them helpful?

Yes. The book contains exercises and I completed them and also find them helpful to me. The exercises in the book were not specified as exercise. When reading you can identify some words/quotes that you can practice and that can be helpful, the author also share some practical life experiences that is helpful. And the principles are stated out for practice.

Maximum Achievement
Assessment by Fawolu Lillian (Nigeria)

1. What is the main idea that the author is trying to convey in the book?

The idea the author is trying to convey in this book is that if we are going to have maximum achievement in our lives, or be successful in our lives we need to consciously change our mental attitude and focus our mind on the things we want and not the things we don’t want, and that we can also unlearn some of our bad attitudes and learn better ones. And we can not focus on what we want if we don’t first have clear picture of what we want.

2. What are the seven ideas which were personally most important to you and why. List these seven ideas followed by an explanation after each one as to why it was important to you. Use personal examples from your own life.

i. Men and women who have achieved greatness knew exactly what they wanted; they all had a clear picture of what their ideal lives accomplishments would look like

For the first time in my life I know exactly what I want from life, what I want to achieve and my passion. I discovered that just few people know what they want and that’s why most people don’t achieve more in life. Lawrence Afere my mentor and this book has taught me how to achieve much with the power of affirmation and strong desire.

ii. Control over your life begins with your thought: this idea is important to me because it has helping me to control my life.

Sometimes the thought I don’t want comes to my mind but with this idea I’ll decide if its what I want or not. If you feel that your life is controlled by your debt, or your boss, or your ill health, or a bad relationship, or the behavior of others, you will suffer stress: this is it, this idea has really helped me to take control of my life. Am not control any more by my external factors, if its what I want, if its makes me happy, then am good to go, although I put people into consideration, I make sure it doesn’t hurt others.

iii. The more you desire or fear something the more likely you are to attract it into your life.

This is important to me because this idea help me to understand that Desire and Fear have a great power on our lives because they are accompanied by emotions. When we fear something we are emotional about it and when we desire something we are emotional about it too. And emotions backed with our thought influence our lives.

iv. Your World

Your outer world corresponds to your inner world. I have learned in this book that I bring to life what I think in my mind.
v. Relationships

Your relationships are a direct expression of the person you really are: which means you will know who you are by your relationship with others, and it is not possible to give what you don’t have. In other for me to maintain my positivity through out the day at work I try to be friendly with everyone.

vi. Maturity

True maturity only comes when you finally realize that no one is coming to the rescue: am really grateful for IIGL for giving us this book. This idea is so powerful and every other words in this book. I am now taking responsibility for my life and my life is really in my hands.

vii. Forgiveness

I wanted to forgive everyone who has hurt me after reading this book. Now I am enjoying my peace of mind.

3. How will all these ideas or lessons help you in a practical way, both in your daily personal life and in helping you to create a better world, if so, how?

These ideas will help me and is helping me already to create a better life for myself, because am introducing every idea in it and important words to my daily activities. My attitude to life has changed and now I am bold to do anything I wish for.

4. Quotes: Are there any statements which the author made, that particularly got your attention? If so, please quote them and comment as to why they were important to you.

“You can not change the world, but you can present the world with one improved person, yourself.”

This got my attention. It’s a waste of time worrying on how the world would change, but it can only got better when you are focus on improving your self. This will make the world a better place.

“You can never have too much love for yourself and you can never give too much love to others”. This quote is important because love can never be too much. The rate at which you love your self you will love others.

“Perhaps the kindest thing a parent can do is to give his or her child the love and emotional support the child needs to grow and thrive.”

The kind of love parent should give to a child when he or she is very tender is very important than when he or she has grown up. This is important to me because as a young lady that is getting married soon need to know this before becoming a mother.

“I couldn’t make someone else happy by being miserable myself.”

This got my attention. In fact, the author discovers this in his experience in life too. Is not possible to give what you don’t have.

“You can’t help the poor by becoming one of them.”

“You can’t hit a target you can’t see.”

This is very important to me as well. You have to envision it first, you have to know exactly what you want before you can achieve it. Nothing comes by chance.

“The very essence of your personality is demonstrated in the way you get along with others, and the way they get along with you.”

This is very important too, because we can measure how well we are doing as a person through our relationship with others.

“It is not money that lies at the root of all evil; it is lack of money.”

This really got my attention because this book has made me to understand that lack of money brings worry and to be worrying is not a happy and best way to live.

“Most worry, stress, anxiety and lost peace of mind are caused by money worries.”

“You must reach the point in your own mind where you know beyond the shadow of a doubt that you can accomplish any goal you set for yourself. From that point on, you are a different person. You are the master of your fate.”

This is just it. I know I will reach this level in my mind some day.

5. Is there anything in the book that you do not understand or are unclear about, or are there any ideas which you disagree with, if so why?

The author made every word in the book very clear for my understanding and I have no disagreement with any of his ideas.

6. Did the book contain exercises for the reader to complete? If so, did you complete all of the exercises and did you find them helpful?

Yes. The book has exercises for me to practice. I complete all of the exercises and they are helpful. One of the exercises I really enjoy was that of chapter 3 that says; Select one positive habit pattern or behavior that you would like to develop, and for the next twenty-one days, discipline yourself to think, visualize, verbalize, affirm and behave in a manner consistent with the new habit you want to develop. This work easily for me and it just like a miracle.

7. Was there anything you read in the book that you would like to comment on that was not covered in the previous questions? If so, please comment.

I will like to make this comment and it’s also a question too; “by being in charge of our own life? Deciding what happens to us in the future? Are we not taking Gods place or trying to manipulate Gods plan for us in the future. Since I know that what ever I focus my mind on with emotions I attract, what if God has other plans for me in the future?
I hope my question is very clear, I will really like to have an explanation to this.

Please rate the following questions on a scale from 1 to 10. Ten is good and one is poor.

A. How interesting was it to read? 10
B. How helpful were the contents? 10
C. How easy was it to understand? 10
D. Would you recommend it to others? 10

Real Magic
Assessment by
Lilian Doyinsola Fawolu (Nigeria)

1. What is the main idea that the author is trying to convey in the book?

The Author conveys that there is a realm of human existence that transcends what we have come to view as normal or possible. The entire book is about helping me align myself in such a way that this universal force or energy is something that I can know intimately, and use in my life, even if no one else around me knows what I am doing or believes in what I am talking about when I speak of miracle.

2. What are the seven ideas which were personally most important to you and why. List these seven ideas followed by an explanation after each one as to why it was important to you. Use personal examples from your own life.

i. “The ancestor to every action is a thought.”

You live the life you imagine you are living: ever since I know that I am in charge and I bring to life whatever thought I allow in my mind, I have been determining what I want to experience and what I don’t want to experience. In fact anything am experiencing now I accept the responsibilities. Sometimes I deliberately allow some thought.

ii. Miraculous Living

The final task on the journey to real magic is to set your mind, your invisible self, on the path of miraculous living. This is very important to me because real magic requires consistence, which means we should consistency focused on what we are and not what we are against. The secret to changing your life is in your intentions: this book has helped me to understand that our goal and wish depends on my intention, and it can’t be achieved without intention. This like intention is a push to accomplishment.

iii. When you know you are in charge

When you know you are in charge of your intentions, that they originate with you, then you will also come to know that you are in charge of your entire world and always has been: my intentions comes from the state of my mind and if my mind is right my intentions are right also my dreams are possible.

iv. Your first responsibility is to your spiritual side

This idea is very important to me and I have known about this Spiritual side of us but this book now gives me clear understanding that our physical world flows from our Spiritual world. My soul is in the first place follow by my physical part. This is where I choose and make decisions about my physical circumstances.

v. Using the idea of “Next”

When an old habitual scarcity thought begins to enter your consciousness, simply say, “Next” that’s right, simply say to yourself, “Next” and it will remind you that the old thought is now finished, and you are entering a new prosperous thought process: this is very important and helpful too. This magic has saved and saving my mind from those thought I don’t want. I also use it even if am sad, to change my mood.

vi. Habits and Customs

Whatever habits and customs you find yourself blindly obeying, you can change in a moment when you become a spiritual being first and a material being second: when came across this idea I was shocked coupled with the fact that I have read about the “Big Lie” and how to overcome it. I know I have a big work to do!

vii. Creating a life of real magic

In order to create a life of real magic you must free yourself of the fear and anxiety surrounding this mystery of your body’s demise: death an eternal mystery the Author said. But we have different fears and many things that cause anxiety, death is one of them. But the truth is that all these fears and our attention on death limit us. This book and the same chapter six that talked about death made me to understand that if we are in harmony with our spiritual life, if we live like a spirit being having physical experience then death cannot limit us and we will take charge of our both spiritual and physical life.

3. How will all these ideas or lessons help you in a practical way, both in your daily personal life and in helping you to create a better world, if so, how?

These ideas will help me and is helping me in my daily personal life if I practically practicing them regularly. I wrote them out as I came across them and past some on my wall in my room to remind me.

4. Quotes: Are there any statements which the author made, that particularly got your attention? If so, please quote them and comment as to why they were important to you.

“You may have adopted a habit of allowing others to influence you or push you around, or of being a servant to others to influence you or push you around, or of being a servant to others at the expense of fulfilling your own destiny.”

This got my attention big time and it’s important to me because I have grown to be allowing people around me to influence me and do any how and I’ll be the one having the pain. It’s as if the author was talking about me.

“Stay focused on what you are for rather than what you are against: this is important to me and also got my attention because most of time we get carried away and in the process of avoiding some experience we end up attracting them to us.”

That’s why I love the way the Author said it “Focus.”

“Totally trust your intuition for a day at a time.”

This Quote is important to me because this helped me to know that my intuition believes in me, trust me, know me than I know myself, is my spiritual part that knows no negativity and limitation. The debate listed as an example said it all and reminds me that when am silent I hear my intuition teaching and guides me, sometimes help me correct my wrongs. (This is sweet and wonderful).

“You create a world of real magic when you alone decide to use your divine, miraculous inner intelligence to make it happen: it’s in all of us but our work is to make it work.”

This we know: the earth does not belong to the man, man belong to the earth: this is very important and to me because when I read further I realize that what you do to earth you do to yourself and whatever you do to yourself you do to the earth.

“Your relationships are all in how you think about the other people of your life.”

Our thought towards other birth our reaction and attitude towards them. This has happen to me several times; if my thought towards a particular person is negative I will start experiencing disagreement and misunderstanding with the person until I change my thought towards the person.

“When you no longer feel you are lacking something, you can live the life you know is perfect for you and then, more and more of the symbols of prosperity seem to arrive in your life.”

This quote is very important to me because I see it as a level of Spirituality.

“Defining your miracle is the first step toward making it your reality.”

The truth is to know your dream and be able to define it, this will push you and orchestrate the fulfillment of the dream and you will be able to identify the opportunity that belongs to the dream for reality. This is also the first step to achieving that dream. This has helped me to understand that most unrealized dream is because of not being able to define them. Sometimes we should know what we want

Maximum Achievement
Assessment by Lilian Fawolu (Nigeria)

1. What is the main idea that the author is trying to convey in the book?

The idea the Author is trying to convey in this book is that if we are going to have maximum achievement in our life’s, or be successful in our life’s we need to consciously change our mental attitude and focus our mind on the things we want and not the things we don’t want, and that we can also unlearn some of our bad attitudes and learn better ones. And we cannot focus on what we want if we don’t first have clear picture of what we want.

2. What are the seven ideas which were personally most important to you and why. List these seven ideas followed by an explanation after each one as to why it was important to you. Use personal examples from your own life.

i. Accomplishments

Men and women who have achieved greatness knew exactly what they wanted, they all had a clear picture of what their ideal lives accomplishments would look like. For the first time in my life I know exactly what I want from life, what I want to achieve and my passion. I discovered that just few people know what they want and that’s why most people don’t achieve more in life. This book has thought me how to achieve much with the power of affirmation and strong desire.

ii. Control over your life begins with your thought

This idea is important to me because it has helped me to control my life. Sometimes the thought I don’t want comes to my mind but with this idea I’ll decide if it’s what I want or not.

iii. Stress

If you feel that your life is controlled by your debt, or your boss, or your ill health, or a bad relationship, or the behavior of others, you will suffer stress. This is it, this idea has really helped me to take control of my life. Am not control any more by my external factors, if it’s what I want, if it’s makes me happy, then am good to go, although I put people into consideration, I make sure it doesn’t hurt others.

iv. Desire and Fear

The more you desire or fear something the more likely you are to attract it into your life: this is important to me because this idea help me to understand that Desire and Fear have a great power on our lives because they are accompanied by emotions. When we fear something we are emotional about it and when we desire something we are emotional about it too. And emotions backed with our thought influence our lives.
v. Outer and Inner World

Your outer world corresponds to your inner world. I have learned in this book that I bring to life what I think in my mind.

vi. Your relationships are a direct expression of the person you really are

This means you will know who you are by your relationship with others, and it is not possible to give what you don’t have. In other for me to maintain my positivity throughout the day at work I try to be friendly with everyone. Sometimes I deliberately avoid unhealthy people without having any issue with them.

vii. Maturity

True maturity only comes when you finally realize that no one is coming to the rescue. am really grateful for IIGL for giving us this book. This idea is so powerful and every other words in this book. I am now taking responsibility for my life and my life is really in my hands. In fact no one is to be blame because am the decision I made.

3. How will all these ideas or lessons help you in a practical way, both in your daily personal life and in helping you to create a better world, if so, how?

These ideas will help me and is helping me already to create a better life for myself, because am introducing every idea in this book and important words in it to my daily activities. My attitude to life has changed and now I am bold to do anything I wish for. I forgive everyone that has hurt me and I am enjoying my peace of mind.

4. Quotes: Are there any statements which the author made, that particularly got your attention? If so, please quote them and comment as to why they were important to you.

“You cannot change the world, but you can present the world with one improved person, yourself.”

This got my attention. It’s a waste of time worrying on how the world would change, but it can only get better when you are focus on improving yourself. This will make the world a better place.

“You can never have too much love for yourself and you can never give too much love to others.”

This quote is important because love can never be too much. It is the rate at which you love yourself you will love others.

“Perhaps the kindest thing a parent can do is to give his or her child the love and emotional support the child needs to grow and thrive.”

The kind of love parent’ should give to a child when he or she is very tender is very important than when he or she has grown up. Am glad I know this before becoming a mother.

“I couldn’t make someone else happy by being miserable myself.”

This got my attention. In fact, the author discovers this in his experience in life too. Is not possible to give what you don’t have. As Abraham Lincoln once said, ”You can’t help the poor by becoming one of them.

Brian Tracy said, “most worry, stress, anxiety and lost peace of mind are caused by money worries.”

Some days ago I need money to take care of my mother and I almost take an action I have never done before, but on getting to the point of action I remembered what I have learnt from this book and these words came to me “I cannot lack, I cannot beg, I have more than enough”.

“You must reach the point in your own mind where you know beyond the shadow of a doubt that you can accomplish any goal you set for yourself. From that point on, you are a different person. You are the master of your fate.”

This is just it. I know I will reach this level in my mind some day.

5. Is there anything in the book that you do not understand or are unclear about, or are there any ideas which you disagree with, if so why.

The author made every word in the book very clear for my understanding and I have no disagreement with any of his ideas.

6. Did the book contain exercises for the reader to complete? If so, did you complete all of the exercises and did you find them helpful?

Yes, the book has exercises for me to practice. I complete all of the exercises and they are helpful. One of the exercises I really enjoy was that of chapter 3 that says; “select one positive habit pattern or behavior that you would like to develop, and for the next twenty-one days, discipline yourself to think, visualize, verbalize, affirm and behave in a manner consistent with the new habit you want to develop.” This works easily for me and it is just like a miracle.

7. Was there anything you read in the book that you would like to comment on, that was not covered in the previous question?

No. I have nothing to comment on except that I noticed that this same book Maximum Achievement was sent to me for reading before.

Goals
Assessment by Fawolu Lilian (Nigeria)

1. What is the main idea that the author is trying to convey in the book?

What the author is trying to convey in the book is that for you to be successful in any area of your life or anything, you must set clear goals and it is then you can move from rags to riches in the month and year ahead by following the practical proven process of goal setting.

2. What are the seven ideas which were personally most important to you and why. List these seven ideas followed by an explanation after each one as to why it was important to you. Use personal examples from your own life.

i. Where you are going is solely determined by yourself and your own thought: this idea is personally most important to me because now I know that I determine where am going in life.

For example, I have determined how my income would be in the year 2020 from August 2019. I determine that I will be living in abundant and scale up my personal growth and my thought keeps meditating on what to put in place to increase my income. And I can boldly say that am experiencing abundant already. I was promoted in my place of work due to my diligence; I have started a business that is also increasing my income.

ii. Living without a clear goal is like driving in a thick fog: this is also important because when we don’t have a clear goal, it’s obvious that we don’t know where exactly we are going and what exactly we want.

When you accept complete responsibility for your life, you take the giant step from childhood to adulthood: this book open my eyes to the fact that nobody is responsible for my life and both my success and failure is determined by me in fact before I take any action I am prepare for the result. And am trying to pass this mentality to others especially teenagers.

iii. The biggest single obstacle to setting goals is “self limiting beliefs”:

This very important to me. From the day I read this idea from this book I have been so careful not to limit my belief when am setting my goals.

iv. The antidote for negative emotions of all kind is for you to accept complete responsibility for your situation:

Although I have a question about this idea and I’ll ask under question. But this quote is also important because it encourage me to take responsibility for my life.

v. Everything that happened to me for the rest of my life was going to be up to me.

This is important to me. Because having this consciousness will make me so serious with my life and set more goals

vi. If you could do or be or have anything at all in life, what would it be?

This is a question that made me go in deep thought. The first thing is what I want. I must be a visionary because it all starts with a vision.

vii. It is always easier to get into something than it is to get out of it:

The time to do the careful thinking is before you commit resources and people, not afterwards. (That’s What the Author Said) I have really learnt a lot from this book and this quote is important. The plans were not important, but the planning process was critical: This quote is very important not to forget. I’ll call it “planning forward” It is the exercise of working through and discussing every key element of the business plan that is more important than any other step at the beginning. This is why Alex Mackenzie said, in the book

3. How will all these ideas or lessons help you in a practical way, both in your daily personal life and in helping you to create a better world, if so, how?

These ideas and lessons in the book will really help me practically in my daily life because:
1. I have a lot to do and be successful in, I realize that this book is just for me so and it is my best book ever, It opens my eyes to my flows and where have missed it and also show me the way forward. Thanks to IIGL.
2. I jot them down for regular reading.
3. I consciously put them in my mind
4. I relate them to my relationship with family, friends, colleague at work and Customer.
5. I read some part again and again to make sure it sinks
6. It is an holistic book and I believe the author has pour his whole in it so when I need an advise on something apart from reading bible I also read the book

4. Quotes: Are there any statements which the author made, that particularly got your attention? If so, please quote them and comment as to why they were important to you.

“Double the amount of time that you spend face to face with qualified prospects: This got my attention so much that I kept pondering on it. We can change from the regular way of doing things like increasing our source of income.”

Always look for the simplest and most direct way to get from where you are to where you want to go: This got my attention and I have to sign on it. If I want to achieve my stated goals I need to be busy, keep moving and the simplest way count. And in fact I must be expectant of opportunities.

“It seems that the harder that you don’t try, the faster your super conscious mind will work for you: This got my attention. Sometimes all we need is to just relax and take a break from trying and struggling.”

“No success in public life can compensate for failure in the home: this is important to me because it has never occurred to me before. Problems at home distract your attention and drain your energy.”

“Keep your life in balance: this quote is important because every areas of our life must be balance. This can be difficult but this book has explained how to balance one’s life.
Treat everyone you meet, at home or at work, like a Million Dollar Customer: This is key and the best way to maintain a perfect relationship. It’s just like what the author also said that we should do unto others as you would have them do unto you. This should be the best way to relate to others.

“Action without planning is the cause of every failure”. Our plans before we start a business or a project becomes absolute even within some days and that’s why we must continue to plan daily.

5. Is there anything in the book that you do not understand or are unclear about, or are there any ideas which you disagree with, if so why?

I agree to everything in the book but I have a question to ask. The author gave an idea in the book that I will need more light on. The author said “The antidote for negative emotions of all kind is for you to accept complete responsibility for your situation.” My question is that how can I maintain positive emotions in the situation where by you need a change in your life and each time you want to take responsibility for not having what you need or seek, you start feeling bad. Let me be factual: at this stage of my life that am almost 30years, am not married and in fact not in a relationship. After reading the idea, I start to accept responsibilities, start spicing things up, having time to hangout but most times I feel so sad and negative thought set in. I will be so glad if you can tell me how to maintain positive emotions while taking responsibilities in this kind of situation.

6. Did the book contain exercises for the reader to complete? If so, did you complete all of the exercises and did you find them helpful?

Yes the book had exercises for the reader to complete. I completed the exercise and I find it so much helpful.

7. Was there anything you read in the book that you would like to comment on, that was not covered in the previous question?

There’s no other thing in the book that I will like to comment on. Everything has been covered.
