Please describe your vision of a world that works for everyone.
My vision of a world that works for everyone is a world where there is equity and fairness. A world where people can realize and fully harness their potential regardless of what side of the world they live in. It\’s a world where leaders understand the concept of leadership from the viewpoint of service and not an opportunity for self-aggrandizement.

What do you see as the most pressing problems facing the world today?
In my own opinion, the most pressing problems facing the world today are diverse and dynamic depending on what part of the world one is in. In Africa where I come from, underdevelopment is a major issue across the continent regardless of how blessed the nations are in terms of natural and human resources. We tackle poverty, poor education and healthcare challenges amongst many others. In the developed nations, one would expect that there should not be challenges because most of these problems are already solved for them. However, they also still have terrorism, wars and political injustices/governance to tackle among many others. I can safely say that world over, the world would benefit from selfless leaders who have the interest of the masses at heart. Therefore, it still boils down to a deficit in good and effective leadership.

How do you feel these problems could best be solved?
John Maxwell says that “everything rises and falls on leadership.” I believe that when good leaders occupy critical leadership positions, governance will be done in ways that positively affect humanity. Their influence on shaping the followers opinions will ensure that people attain the right mindset needed for successful living. For example, notable leaders in the past like Mahatma Gandhi, Nelson Mandela and even citizens who did not necessarily hold political leadership positions, like Mother Teresa made such a huge impact on people and helped to shape their mindsets. This is why up till now, we still refer to their acts of kindness, selflessness and love for humanity. I believe that with value reorientation and efforts to get leaders grounded in servanthood, the world will indeed be a better place to live in. In my own country, corruption has been a major problem resulting in poor governance where leaders enrich themselves with the commonwealth of the people leading to unemployment, underemployment, poor infrastructure and poverty amongst the people. If these leaders got leadership right, there will be equity and fairness, accountability and in the end a safe space for citizens to harness their potential and create a world they deserve to live in.
