Kingsley Iyamu – Assessments

As a Man Thinketh

Assessment by Kingsley Iyamu (Nigeria)

1. What is the main idea that the author is trying to convey in the book?

The main idea is about thought and character, the effect of thought on character, health, body, thought and purpose as a factor in Achievements, in one’s visions and ideas in creating serenity to our lives towards perfection as a prerequisite requirement in entering and living in the next world.

2. What were the seven ideas which were personally important to you and why? List these seven ideas followed by an explanation after each one as to why it is important to you .use personal examples from your own life.

i. The whole of man’s being

This book embraces the whole of a man’s being; it reaches out to every condition and circumstances of his life, his character being the complete sum of all his thought. Thought and character is what makes a man as it covers, soaks the whole entity of man’s being, the physical body is an architectural design, it encompasses material elements with which it is made of, and determines the modus operand of the body while living within the soil of the body.

ii. Seeds

As a plant springs from the hidden seed of thought which is called “spontaneous” and “unpremeditated.” Thoughts are seeds that has somehow been sown knowingly and unknowingly whether rightly, or through error of omission and commission on a portion entitled to by everybody, as a portion of the earth for habitation is also given or allocated to every man either by nature of environments or through inheritance or acquired.

iii. Action is the blossom of thought

Action is the blossom of thought and joy and suffering are its fruitage of his own husbandry. Act which is the blossom of thought makes it quite understandable that when thought has emerged whether positive or negative it must germinate either in a fertile or a rocky soil of the soul which either makes a man successful or impoverished. A thought about sexual disease due to the mistake of adultery or fornication sown, as already spelt out in the law sowing and harvesting breeds into worries leading to high blood pressure, which not uncontrollable, or cannot be suppressed due to not testing and knowing your status can lead to stroke. Due to fear of its consequences and other attendant stigmatization problems.

iv. Noble character

A noble and God like character is not a thing of favor or chance, but is the natural result of continued effort in right thinking. It is not a thing of favor or chance, but is the natural result of continued effort in right thinking. This type of character is cultivated and has been done by different facet of either religion, philosophy of belief, if you cultivate a seed infested, if it manage to grow you will definitely get it’s like and if you cultivate a good seed it will bring also good fruit and it does not come by chance or favor.

v. Thought

An ignoble and bestial character, by the same process, is the result of the continued harboring of grooving thought. It is by the same process is the result of the continued harboring of groveling thought. Character such as stealing, cheating on partners did not just start one day, it started when we started nursing it in the nursery bed of our eyes and from there we transfer it to the primary bed of our soul from which it now manifest it s ignoble and bestial character which control that man and people detest it.

vi. Man is made or unmade by himself.

Man is made or unmade by himself, in the armory of thought, he forges the weapons by which he destroys himself, thought resident in the soul where it interact with a lot of environmental factors that determine the depth it grows and also the fruit it bears out to the physical body. Much soul has been destroyed due to the influences of the various drives of storms of lack of love, care, poverty, frustration etc as a result of countless influence it had in the shaping of your life.

vii. Tools

Lastly these ideas has enlightened me more to know that every man fashions the tools with which it built itself to become whatever he desires to become, he can decide to build heavenly mansions of joy and peace right from his soul while on earth, he can decides to shape his living through his character in adaptation to his condition, environment and destiny.

3. How will these ideas or lessons help you in a practical way, both in your daily personal life and in helping you to create a better world? If so, why?

This ideas about thought and character and the effect on circumstances has made me realize that when you harbors positive or negative thought in the soul, it is like the law of seed time and harvest time, the law of absolute that mandates whoever seeketh to find and to him that knocked it shall be opened. As through patience, practice, and ceaseless importunity can a man enter the door of the temple of his knowledge. Patience during the thought of my anger has solved a lot of problem between me and my wife as the divergent reason why such cause might have resulted shows it’s self in the light of the day.

4. Quotes: Are there any statements which the author made that particularly got your attention? If so, please quote them and comment as to why they were important to you

“Only by much searching and mining are gold and diamond obtained and man can find every truth connected with his being, if he will dig deep into the mine of his soul. In the natural world of miners of every precious metal, it involves much searching, excavating, digging deep into the earth before it can be gotten, most of this precious metal are not mostly found on the surface of the earth, likewise the soul has a lot of precious metals with which life can be made. Every great mind started with a seed of thought not contented with the way things are but goes further to find every manure and fertilizer that would enhance the seed that has been soul hidden on the ground. If a seed is sown and nurtured with goodness, mercy, love and care and all the good attributes of life, most of these end you well but the seed sown with hatred fear, lies check out the outcome at last. The criminal thought had long been secretly fostered in the heart and the hour of opportunity revealed its gathered power.”

5. Is there anything in the book that you do not understand or unclear about, or are there ideas which you disagree with and, if so, why?

Man, therefore, as the lord and master of thought, is the maker of himself and the shape of and author of environment. Even at birth the soul comes of its own and through every step of its earthly pilgrimage, it attracts those combinations of conditions which reveal itself. Man can be able to influence its thought but not master of his thought, as certain circumstance right from birth like a baby with pressed nose at birth would think why am I different from other humans until one disallow him to think of inferiority but rather a blessing. Furthermore he is not the maker of himself as the phrase “himself” undoubtly covers the spirit soul and the physical body. Without the body the soul cannot exist. The spirit coordinates the activities of the being, if the spirit disagrees with the other parts the body it is scattered and if the soul rebels and refuses to accept the seed of thought that shape’s destiny it cannot stand.

6. Did the book contain exercise for the reader to complete? If so, did you complete all of the exercise and did you find them helpful?

None.

7. Was there anything you read in the book that you would like to comment on that was not covered in the previous questions? If so, please comment.

The weakest soul knowing its own weakness, and believing this truth-that strength can only be developed by effort and practice-will, thus believing, at once begins to exert itself. A man should conceive of a legitimate purpose in his heart, and set out to accomplish it. he should make the purpose the centralizing point of his thoughts, it may take the form of a spiritual ideal, or it may be a worldly object, according to his nature at the time being, whichever it is he should steadily focus his thought-force upon the object he had set before him, he should make this purpose his supreme duty and should devote himself to its attainment, not allowing his thought to wander away into ephemeral fancies, longing and imaginings.

Many people in life wants to be successful and would do everything they think possible to succeed, but most of us have not know that the secret of success lies with every one, it depends on what your soul is been sown with, if a soul has been sown with element of weakness, and is able to realize early in life, it can start developing it through believe on his effort and practice will as he had already conceived a legitimate purpose in his heart, which through his will power he can accomplish.

I decided to become a leader because of what I see in my environment, I saw that life is full of vanity but time is it constraints and because equal opportunity has not been given, individual right from birth as a result of the environment and regions of the world are all trampled on, some are born great, others obtain greatness through hard work, some are born with wooden spoon, silver spoon and golden spoon which add valve or shapes the kind of thought and aspirations one may has, be that as it may whichever class you belong, I intent to try and deliver equitably depending how you can open your hand in terms aspirations.

Jonathan Livingston Seagull

Assessment by Kingsley Iyamu (Nigeria)

1. What is the main idea that the author is trying to convey in his book?

The main idea the author Jonathan Livingston seagull wants to convey is about a seagull which belong to a flock of herds residing in an environment that is made up of natural things like the moon, sun, stars, space ocean, plants, living and terrestrial beings, this beings has the potential and the ability to be improved upon, even though it is surrounded by limited nature, capabilities ,internal and environmental factors are certain rules binding on nature which have caused boredom, fear, and anger which have become detrimental to the cause of flying.

Its improvement and its attitude and altitude of perfection can be exhibited continuously with love and kindness although certain intricacies could result due to boredom, fear and anger which can shorten one’s life, Even though one is at the height of success due to the complexity of the natural environment. but in all the whole essence of successful flight is to touch lives, reach out to others ,create innovation as the flight of ideas could possible be as real as the flight of wind and feather.

2. What were the seven ideas which were personally most important to you and why? List these seven ideas followed by an explanation after each one as to why it was important to you. Use personal examples from your own life.

i. Every seagull under the earth is belongs to a herds of flocks living in a particular settlement.

This idea makes me know that every human being come from a family which form an integral part of a community, which form a society coexisting together. in this community there are rules and regulations which guilds, moderate and control attitudes within the system.

ii. There is a primary essence of all seagulls living together.

The whole essence as indicated by Jonathan seagull parents was to fly and generate food for living. This idea became personally important to me because, food is the major sustainer of life, once the problem of lack of food is solved in a family and society, the security of lives is guaranteed and problem emanating from starvation such as sickness will become minimal and good ideas will start emanating from within. There is a proverb which says “a hungry man is an angry man.”

iii. The author in the course of breaking the barriers of limitation after meeting the basic necessities of nature such as food, flying with a good mindset will begin to explore higher practice of flying, divergent method of getting food which is practicable. In life there are different ways one can get what it want but it should be through hard work and constant practice.

iv. The art of learning

The art of learning and practicing every idea one conceive could be realizable, but it noted that while on its course to freedom, limitation to freedom would set in. In life when you have been able to meet the basic needs and want to make or create impact in people’s lives, some setbacks, limitation within and outside the environment raise its ugly head which you have to bruise.

v. Flying entails constant practices.

Flying entails constant practices, learning all sorts of unimaginable feet’s which could be disastrous, that is why one should be very careful while working at the peak of your innovations as anything could go wrong, unforeseen circumstances could come up.

vi. The more you practice, the more it gets better.

The more you practice, the more it gets better, gradual improvement comes in with ease, attitude to quit may set in, terrible life threatening damages, explosion, injury, discouragement may suffice, so be in expectation of unforeseen incident but always be careful.

vii. No future for laziness

There is no future for lazy fellows as greatness in life is not for the slothful but for the diligent. This passage greatly encourage me to continuously practice, sort for new ideas, never to be distracted with those things that will not enhance the quick actualization of my dream.

3. How will these ideas or lessons help you in a practical way, both in your daily personal life and in helping you to create a better world? If so, how?

The author conveyed a lot of ideas which is very significant to every field of endeavor and it applies practically to my life. I have been able to know that there is time and season for everything on the surface of the earth and I have to continuously work hard, aim high, keep my head straight in order to achieve my set goal, in consonance with the nature of job I have agreed to do as a service to humanity.

I also learned that there are different perception of the nature of the job one does and what others does in different field of endeavor, and this can warrant a lot of unforeseen, unplanned circumstances, storms, monster like tribulation roaring its ugly head in which ever level of one’s career and successes in life, which can make one break promises of self esteem and vow which may limit one’s capabilities. When all this circumstances capsize or somersault you, one should have in mind that it is the tides of nature which can be surmountable through continuous practice. This insistence leads to perfection, and every practice need to be taken cautiously as there are death traps along the way of success.

4. Quotes: Are there any statements which the author made that particularly got your attention? If so, please quote them and comment as to why they were important to you.

“We choose our next world through what we learn in this one; learn nothing and the next world is the same as this one.”

We cannot choose our next world with what we learn because from the moment of conception in our mother’s womb the process of fusion of one cell with another was known but the process, that make that process possible has not been explicit! Even from childhood to adulthood, the environment or region of the world one fall in actually determine whether one will learn or not, peradventure one learns, it depends on opportunity available, if one does not likewise as there are many who wish to learn but cannot, which goes with this rhymes some have food they cannot eat, some can eat but have no food, we have food and we can eat glory be to God. Most times we learn and plan perfectly for our next world but certain circumstances or force can make or mar it. if there would be any next world, all we have to do is to contribute our quota of learning and impacting knowledge setting a standard and allow the next world determine how it would be like.

“There is more to life than eating, or fighting or power in the flop.”

This statement have made me know that most of us takes pleasure in eating, drinking ,fighting or tussling for power for our selfish interest. The question is after all this satisfaction what next? This is where the issue of continuous practice into perfection comes in. Invocation of new ideas as there are still rooms for improvement for the betterment of humanity. In essence the most important thing in living was to reach out and touch perfection.

5. Is there anything in the book that you don’t understand or are unclear about, or are there ideas which you disagree with and m if so, why?

The author said “Do you have any idea how many lives we must have gone through before we even got the first idea that there is more to life than eating or fighting or power in the flock”. Can anyone who have been privileged to attain a century, plus two decade attest to the fact that a particular being was given birth to but such being was terminated abruptly and has passed through series of life? Can there ever be life after death even though there are dreams only for living, does the dead dream?

6. Did the book contain exercise for the reader to complete? If so did you complete all the exercises and you find them helpful?

It does and I did complete it to my own understanding and it brought some understanding to me, which is stated below. Jonathan was not alert to listen. It’s pretty, he thought. The moon and the lights twinkling on the water, throwing out little beacon-trails through the night, and all so peaceful and still calm. Another exercise `He closed his eyes to silt against the winds and rejoiced. A hundred forty miles per hour! And under control! If l dive from five thousand feet instead of two thousand, l wonder how fast…..even being conscious of death if I miss my track or being hit by particles of storm.

7. Was there anything you read in the book that you would like to comment on that was not covered in the previous questions? If so, please comment.

The issue of continuous practice leading to perfection not minding if one belongs to a flock or being ostracized due to disobedience to the rules and regulation guiding particular flocks of community. I want to emphasize that fate plays a determinant role in choices and perspective one views a particular thought or thinking, at times perfection are viewed both in culturally, socially and religious in nature,

Giant Steps

Assessment by Kingsley Iyamu (Nigeria)

1. What is the main idea that the author is trying to convey in his book?

The author Anthony Robbins main idea is conveyed in two perspectives which is to

inspire and to funnel that energy into measurable results, by getting you to consistently take simple action as these inspirations and small actions will lead to giant step forward in the quality of one’s life. After all what good is inspiration if it’s not backed up by action, according to Carl Sandberg, nothing happens unless first dream, it is not what we do once in a while that counts, but our consistent actions, our decisions-not the conditions of our lives-determine our destiny. Each of us is endowed with innate resources that enable us to achieve all we’ve ever dreamed of and more. It is worth noting that the floodgate can be opened by one decision bringing us joy or sorrow, prosperity or solitude, long life or early death.

2. What were the seven ideas which were personally most important to you and why? List these seven ideas followed by an explanation after each one as to why it was important to you. Use personal examples from your own life.

i. A single decision acted upon immediately and with utter conviction can bring a lot of difference or change beyond expectation.

For example, Rosa Parks in 1955 made a decision to defy an unjust law that discriminated against her on the basis of her race. Her refusal to give up her seat on the

bus had consequences far beyond those she may have been aware of at the moment .no matter her intent, her commitment to a higher standard compelled her to act. This proves the fact that small efforts can add up to giant results, she decided to refute the believe that the challenge of racism facing them are permanent and pervasive and she has to contribute her quota.

ii. We cannot always control the trials or tribulation that comes in our lives at any particular time, but we can control our responses and the actions we take.

Most trials whatsoever any one is facing today, although unconsciously had been sown in the soil of the soul at one time or the other, in any event that might have took place but the manifesting mostly are not accurate to the exact time limit, whether we like it or not every seed of words spoken whether positive or negative is a seed sown on the soil of the soul even if it is a joke unless we immediately rebuff it or cancel such words you spoke or is spoken to your life which can produce negative plant or effect in our life, as not rejecting such words can plant itself on the soil of our soul and if we allow it to continue it will germinate any negative trials-fruits at the point of manifestation or season of every harvest in our life, which is why curses spoken due to the dare nature of negativity which any one on its right mind even if it is physically seen manifesting wouldn’t want to cross that part rather would thread the road of blessing.

iii. Success is the result of good judgment.

Good judgment is the result of experience, and experience is often the result of bad judgment, success comes from taking the initiative and following up, persisting eloquently expressing the depth of your love, there goes the questions, are these the only parameter for measuring success, I would include hard work with good judgment and experience. According to George Burns; “you have to have something to get you out

of bed.” I can’t do anything in bed anyway. One must first wake up from sleeping or slumber of goal-lessness and get up bracing up for a goal. To get what you want you must discover what’s preventing you from taking action.

iv. Often we see greatness in others as we assume they are just more fortunate,

blessed with special gifts.

In reality they have utilized a greater depth of their human resources simply because failure to be, do and share their, all would be the ultimate pain for them. Most inventions are born out of focusing on goals otherwise it does not fall on the ground even if it does as a result of talent within it must be worked upon or else it would die naturally like the seed that was sown on fertile ground and the one on rocky ground. If the one on fertile ground is nurtured properly it will definitely be fruitful even if the rock on the other ground is removed and not nurtured it will die naturally.

v. Another point noteworthy is that the real purpose of a goal is what it makes of you as a human being while you pursue it, who you become as a person is the ultimate reward as the secret of unleashing your true power is setting goals that are exciting enough that they truly inspire your creativity and ignite your passion. If one’s passion is ignited over an issue success is not farfetched as whatever you consistently think about and focus.

vi. Whatever we focus on determine how we feel.

Most people focus on what they don’t want instead of what they do, if you resist your fear, have faith and discipline your focus consistently and persistently, your

actions will naturally take you in the directions you want, release your fear, and focus now on what you truly desire and deserve.

vii. The human spirit is truly unconquerable

The will to win; the will to succeed to shape one’s life ,take control-can be harnessed only when you decide what you want and believe that no challenge, no problem, no obstacle can keep you from it.

3. How will these ideas or lessons help you in a practical way, both in your daily personal life and in helping you to create a better world? If so, how?

These ideas have started creating a lot of impact on me in several ways, it has made me

to know that there is nothing wrong with me that the resources I need to change anything in life are within me right now just waiting to be tapped. It also make me to know whom I am and what kind of stuff I am made off, and how I can use what I have to change every negative thing that has been affecting my whole being because I am already endowed

with the capability. My response to anger is as a result of what I perceive initially that when any negative words is spoken against you, one must respond with anger but you can decide in you that even if any negative words is spoken you will respond politely even if the intention of the one speaking it wants to make you angry and you are not angry, this will definitely change the course of thing as happiness will be given back to you and surprise to the speaker because of his expectation.

4. Quotes: Are there any statements which the author made that particularly got your attention? If so, please quote them and comment as to why they were important to you.

“I am the source of all my emotions, nothing and no one can change how I feel

except me, and if I find myself in reaction to anything, I can change it in a moment.”

These statements made me to realize that what gives a man pleasure is in a man, it only needs an aid to stimulate it.

5. Is there anything in the book that you do not understand or are unclear about, or are there ideas which you disagree with and, if so, why?

None I could bring out.

6. Did the book contain exercises for the reader to complete? if so, did you complete all of the exercises and did you find them helpful?

The book contains a lot of practical exercise and some of them completed are as follows.

Several values displayed and their various ranking it holds in our heart. They are: Value Ranking: Love, Success, Freedom, Intimacy, Security, Adventure, Power, Passion, Comfort, and Health. The importance of these to me cannot be overemphasized as it has made me to know that health comes first, when there is good health every other thing that makes life follows.

7. Was there anything you read in the book that you would like to comment on that was not covered in the previous questions? if so, please comment.

There is a force that shapes your life, it determines what you considers possible or

impossible, what you attempt or pull back from, how you think and how you interact. This force is the belief you have about who you are your identity. Even if we hold our destiny in our hand we must not forget the force that accumulated in bringing man into existence which we all tap the sharpening of our life from.

Real Magic

Assessment by Kingsley Iyamu (Nigeria)

1. What is the main idea that the author is trying to convey in the book?

The author has a lot of idea he wants to convey in his book but paramount among them is

the idea of real magic having the background of miracles as a bedrock foundation in our everyday life, real magic is a metaphoric statement in which the journey of life through enlightenment of various perspective is portrayed leading to higher path of living where

purposes or essence of living is been achieved .what outcome it focus on specific ambition which they work towards, they see obstacles as opportunities, knowing that living at outcome is far superior to living at suffering, it gives one’s lives focus and keeps one motivated to set higher and higher goals.

2.What were the seven ideas which were personally most important to you and why? list these seven ideas followed by an explanation after each one as to why it was important to you. Use personal examples from your own life.

i. The Invisible

There is an invisible but knowable life force within you. The awareness of an invisible limitless force or formless force, a force thunderous than thunder, sharper and brightest than the light of thunder, fiercest and hotter than the hell of brimstone, deadlier than nuclear energy yet cooler than the coolest of ice that suffuses all forms in the universe, including your body, it directs, orders, a rose to be a rose, a beetle to be a beetle, the planet to be align and move through space and you be you, it is without boundaries living in a boundary.

ii. Thoughts can be controlled

Your thoughts are something that you control and they originate with you. The thought we have originates from and within the sphere of formlessness, it is an experience coded with words, from the past, present, exaggerated future, your thought forms and experience being accented to knowingly and unknowingly, it creates experience of

your healing, wealth, and every detail of your world. It is from where miracles of your life are begins or non-miracles experience. When I was in my teenage years. I saw a federal Government building that was abandoned for years and I thought in my mind I will work in this type of building, whatever organization is there, after some years I was

employed by the federal Government and after my training in the field of law enforcement I was posted out and the first place I worked was exactly the same Government building in another location of the country and years back I realized what I had thought had come into existence. The spiritual being knows that thoughts are not subject to the laws of cause of effect nor that of classical physics but that

with our thoughts we create our reality which translate to miracles.

iii. There are no limits

There are no limits; all the things you have become convinced that are limits are product of the way in which you have learned. Before the invention of microscope most people do not believe in the existence of microscopic life, people who believe only what they can see or prove scientifically are limited by the current level of sophistication of

our equipment more so are limited to their five sensory organs.

iv. Your life has purpose.

Your life has a purpose. The entire universe is an intelligent system. The universe that is your physical body is a multitude of system all functioning with amazing perfection and it too is an intelligent system. The invisible part of you, your thought and feeling are also

part of your system.

v. You overcome weakness by leaving them behind.

You cannot over think your weakness and limitations, you will not get yourself to the place of inner harmony necessary to create real magic by working hard to overcome your old self defeating behaviors.what can you learn to do is leave that stage of your life behind you and walk through the gate into a new way of living in being.

vi. Your Beliefs.

When you examine what you believe to be impossible, you can then change your beliefs, take inventory of what you believe cannot happen in your life, whether physical accomplishment, relationship, health or finance. Create yourself to an openness of new idea and remember you do not have to do anything except changing around your thought to positive images and it will lead you to miraculous behaviors.

vii. Logic

You can go beyond logic. You may not be comfortable relying on something other than logic and rational thinking, let in the idea that there is another dimension that is very much a part of you. You have never seen, touched, smelled or physically felt, a thought or a dream or a feeling yet you never know exist.

3. How will these ideas or lessons help you in a practical way, both in your daily personal life and in helping you to create a better world? If so, how?

These ideas or lessons will help me in a lot of ways as it has started opening my spiritual eyes in perceiving whom I am that I am a spiritual being having a physical

experience instead of the usual thought that I am a physical person with an experience of a spiritual being. These ideas will further make me not to rely exclusively on the five senses of the physical being that beyond the five senses there are other senses. The ideas also made me to know that the non-spiritual being is focused on external powers; the spiritual being is focused on personal empowerment even as external power is located in the dominance of and control over physical world. This is the power of war and military

might, the power of laws and organization, the power of control all that is external to the self. The non-spiritual being is focused on this power but the spiritual being is focused on empowering himself and others to higher and higher levels of consciousness and

achievement. The non spiritual being believe exclusively in a cause and effect interpretation of life that there must be an action before repercussion but the spiritual being knows that there is a higher power working in the universe beyond mere cause and effect where out of emptiness can come something and formlessness can come form.

4. Quotes: Are there any statements which the author made that particularly got your attention? If so, please quote them and comment as to why they were important to you.

“I know I have the power within me to create a life of fulfillment and joy. I am

a miracle and therefore I am a creator of miracle.”

I have been able to know that I am a spiritual being that is embedded with a lot

of spiritual empowerment which when tapped upon appropriately can make

me a creator of real magic and miracles, that I am not alone and I am

connected to all others and that success is achieved by aligning oneself with one’s purpose which is not measured by performance or acquisitions, that these things flows into one’s life in sufficient amount and that they arrive as a result of living purposefully.

Another quote from the passage is I am reminded of the word of Christ in his own miracles making; “He that believeth in me, the works that I do shall he do also and greater works than these shall he do.”

These statements made me to realize that Christ has already set a precedence

for everyone in the world who want to be a spiritual being of being able to access the benefit of living a purposeful life.

Another statement that I am going to key on in all my life is; “if thou canst

believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.” Mark 9:23.

This statement has made me to know that there is no impossibility in my life that everything I need is on belief as a spiritual being having a physical experience.

5. Is there anything in the book that you do not understand or are unclear about, or are there ideas which you disagree with and, if so, why?

“That the non-spiritual being feels no sense of responsibility to the universe, therefore he has not developed a reverence for life.” This statement in my perspective is quite untrue because many policies have been formulated to take care of the universe even though it is physical policies but it has underline effect in the spiritual realm, like a forestation of

deforested lands, protection of wild life from extinction through discouraging indiscriminate bush burning, discouraging gas flaring in order not to distort the universe; where lies the sense of irresponsibility, when they feel they have one world which need

protection if need be.

6. Did the book contain exercises for the reader to complete? if so, did you complete all of the exercises and did you find them helpful?

None.

7. Was there anything you read in the book that you would like to comment on that was not covered in the previous questions? if so, please comment.

The aspect of prosperity consciousness which are old habit one must discard

otherwise one may dwell in scarcity and not be able to live a life of real magic are thus; “there is not enough to go round, I totally disagree with these concept because the ends and dept of the universe can only be perceive by what our thought can reason or carry within and how far we can go in trying to sustain the practicability of our knowingness of the limitless on our formlessness, as a man thinketh so is he.”

Another habit I disagree about is that “you have to get it yours or someone else will grab it before you. The entity called universe has been made saturated with everything it

needs in abundance to keep itself going even from eternity to eternity and it keeps providing or multiplying for any additional soul that is added to the universe all that it would sustain it, whatever prosperity you desire can be gotten only if your believe can carry it as everyone will get what he really want if he believe, as we are all allocated abundance of portions of prosperity or scarcity or poverty the moment of our conception, we have to get it as no one will get it for us, even if anyone does it can easily be lost as the principle of purpose has not been followed by you who someone has given.”

“There are so many fish in the sea. This buttress that many situations abounds in

this universe as you are entitled to the one you chooses whether scarcity or prosperity. Eveything in the universe has been destined for mankind and many people are perishing for lack of knowledge on how to get it that is why many are raised in penury and also fly to immortality in futility.” I also disagree with the above statement.

Finally, I disagree with this as well. “You never know if opportunity will knock. People that have this notions are in the state of suffering, they have not realize that been alive is an opportunity number one and that all other opportunity will come, one thing is sure when and how opportunity come is what we need to watch out for so that when it comes we should be able to grab it as it will always come.”

The New Dynamics of Winning

Assessment by Kingsley Iyamu (Nigeria)

1. What is the main idea that the author is trying to convey in his book?

The idea the author is trying to convey the new dynamics of wining is to let us know the most important traits and mindset of a champion, how to focus one’s mind for peak performance anywhere, anytime, the secret of mental toughness and how to overcome setback, coupled with five prevalent self destructive beliefs alleys with its fears. The

component of effective leadership and the Importance of coach-ability and how “paying the price” prepares you for success. it also makes us to benefit from psychological research that has uncovered the keys to peak performance, I also discover the inner skills and motivating habits of elite athletes, and how to apply them in our own working

life so that we can develop the mental traits of a winner, and how to gain the ability to block out distractions and negative influences, in order to achieve total concentration.

2. What were the seven ideas which were personally most important to you and why? List these seven ideas followed by an explanation after each one as to why it was important to you. Use personal examples from your own life.

i. The mindset of a champion, a person who intends to win or be a champion or a hero

must have the drive to win.

He must have fought the greatest battles of all which is the fight to stay alive, you must fight against pain, frustration and all odds, one must be in the zone because that is

where all goals are begun, except you be in the zone you have either fail to plan or plan to fail due to fear of failure or success. You must realize that we are living in a global village where competition, change and complexity are increasing at unprecedented speed. The unexpected is occurring on a daily basis, the opportunities are still

there, but you are going to have to prepare yourself differently, train more thoroughly, act more intelligently and proactively and anticipate future trends. You are going to have to make it happen.

ii. Success and Hardwork

There are combination of ideas that it takes to succeed, hardwork, careful decision making, technical expertise and the support of friends and family but there are fears which tends to act as a powerful motivator, some entrepreneurs resort to threats,

power plays and punishment in the mistaken idea that it is the fastest way to meet their goals, this can interfere with the idea of trying to succeed.

iii. Fear

The various fears that we alley in the course of trying to succeed or becoming a

champion, fear of catastrophic danger which is an automatic, reflexive instinct, it cause us to react to what we consider life threatening confrontations with the fight or flight syndrome .we either defend ourselves by attacking our adversary or we try to escape harm way by running in the opposite direction or hiding, fear of change, fear of

success, fear of failure are other fears which are stumbling block to becoming a champion or a hero.

iv. A winner must achieve goals

A winner must achieve goals have the stair step method of achieving goal which include defining of goals, outlining of goals, time frame of goal and claim. Every step of

goal getting is by defining each major goal in writing; it becomes a clear mission statement and has the authority of a legal contract. By outlining each major goal in the form of a stair step, it become focus, less intimidating and more easily scheduled into your daily and weekly routine. The time-frame is the magic of ninety days, also

referred to as length of seasons because each major athletes’season last about ninety days.

v. A winner must have a mind like a baby

A winner should have the mind like a baby who is given a bicycle to ride even if he fall several times always have the mind to get up and try again. Kids will fall several number of times but they‘ll almost never say I quit. I ‘m not willing to risk falling again significance to even dozens of falls or failures; it’s just part of the price they gladly pay for that marvelous experience of flying down the street under their own power

vi. Champions must be proactive and preventive

Champions must be proactive and preventive about our physical health, as the body we

have whether we like it or hate it is ours for a duration, we must take responsibility for it, treat your body like a spacecraft, not like a used car you drive around, hoping you won’t have to spend much on maintenance, your physical well being is your most precious gift,

yet it’s something that many people can’t fully appreciate until they lose.

vii. View a mistake as a corrective feedback to get you back on track.

There are no mistake or failure, only lesson, growth is a process of gaining knowledge of trial and error and of courageous experimentation, the failed attempt can be as much a part of the success process as the attempt that finally success, rejection and

guilt are tied deeply to failure, the experience of a failure which result in feeling of disappointment is actually like being told to go and stand in a corner because you‘ve been a bad boy or naughty girl. Every mistake is an action whether seen, heard spoken which can be dealt with by not attaching negative importance to it but rather a experimenting measure as a stepping stone to success.

3. How will these ideas or lessons help you in a practical way, both in your daily personal life and in helping you to create a better world? If so, how?

These ideas have taught me a lot of lessons in my daily personal life as it has made me

to know the fundamentals of self-esteem, rules of winners which when earnestly followed brings good results. Among which are viewing life as a continuous learning experience-one is enrolled as a full time informal school called life, each day is an opportunity to learn new lessons some of which you may enjoy a great deal and some you may

enjoy not at all but see to it that these learning experience never end, think of success as a process that you want to continue, not a status that you reach once and for all, people who fail to do this can reach a certain comfort zone of security. Where they stop growing and reach, the moment you stop learning you start dying.

Another lesson is that you get what you pay for, this also applies to the law of seed time and harvest time, when you sow a seed of corn, it will germinate and bring out a stalk of corn, you‘ve got to put in the effort, the hours, or even the years that are required to master a skill, that is why different effort require different time of manifestation, years of

studying medicine differs from years of studying law.

Another lesson learned is that the choice to win or lose is yours, so choose to win,

what you make of your life is up to you whether you have all the resources and tools you need in life or not, what you do with the little is your decision, the choice is yours and it’s never too late to get in the game of life. Age should never be a barrier to participation in life, what most important is to enjoy life. And never ever be afraid to stretch your limit.

Choose to win.

Another lesson is to keep training and gaining-without complaining, losers like to

engage in pleasurable activities with no participation result in mind, winners choose activities that will give them long term positive result.

I also learned that self esteem or lack of it is the root of all behavior whether negative

or positive as it is made up of both self worth and self trust that no opinion or judgment is as vitally important to your own growth and development as that which you hold of yourself.

4. Quotes: Are there any statements which the author made that particularly got your attention? If so, please quote them and comment as to why they were important to you.

None.

5. Is there anything in the book that you do not understand or are unclear about, or are there ideas which you disagree with and, if so, why?

There are some ideas which I disagree with that the author did not put into consideration, while he was talking about the seven rules for winner, the sixth rule which states the choice is yours so choose to win.

“What you make of your life is up to you, you have all the tools and resources you need the part of the world we live in determine, first, second or third world, many are so impoverished that with little or no tools and resources, are determine to win in their endeavor, what’s mostly important is to determine to be a winner whether there is or not. Who would have choices that he knows would amount him to something and refuse to

utilize it, that’s insane.”

Another statement I disagree with is “what you show to the world on the

outside is a reflection of how you feel on the inside.”

Most people that show that they are happy are not necessary happy because they

tend not to allow what is aching them prevent them from their goal. Can we say the blackness of the back of African pot of soup determine the tasty?

6. Did the book contain exercises for the reader to complete? if so, did you complete all of the exercises and did you find them helpful?

None.

7. Was there anything you read in the book that you would like to comment on that was not covered in the previous questions? if so, please comment.

Failure is really a matter of concept. People don’t work hard because in their

conceit they imagine they‘ll succeed without making an effort .most people believe that they‘ll wake up some day and find themselves rich. Actually they‘ve got it half

right because eventually they do wake up to find out that things has started working out they way of success.

How to Win Friends and Influence People

Assessment by Kingsley Iyamu (Nigeria)

1. What is the main idea that the author is trying to convey in the book?

The main idea the author is trying to convey is the practical principle of how to win friends and be of impact to yourself and the people around you and the society in general which will be dealt with and followed in our everyday life. The foremost is the desire to learn, a vigorous determination to increase your ability to deal with people putting into consideration your popularity, happiness and sense of worth. As you progress a bird eye view or skimming through does not worth it but rather rereading and frequently stopping to ask questions on the application of these principles or suggestions as you take a deep thought of it with either your crayon, pencil, magic marker or highlighter in your hand with such as to the use of what you have read in everyday life even though it may seem difficult because man can easily find fault than find praise as it is much easier to criticize and condemn than to understand other people viewpoint.

2. What were the seven ideas which were personally most important to you and why? List these seven ideas followed by an explanation after each one as to why it is important to you. Use personal examples from your own life

i. The act of criticism, condemnation and complaining

These acts I have indulged over the years with people does not help issues criticism is futile it puts a person on the defensive and usually makes him to strive to justify himself. Criticism is dangerous because it wounds a person precious pride, hurts his sense of importance, ego and arouses resentment. The resentment that criticism engenders can demoralize employees, family member, and friends and still not correct the situation that has been condemned. Sharp criticism and rebuke almost invariable ends in futility, when dealing with people let us remember we are not dealing with creatures of logic but with creatures of emotions, creatures bustling with prejudices and motivated by pride and vanity, I use to have this behaviors with my wife over little things but since then I have changed and things have gotten better in my life,

ii. Honest and sincere appreciation to people of all works of life

This is very crucial in living a meaningful life with people as it edifies the soul, morals with which a healthy and productive life is built. Appreciation is the tonic of the soul, it gathers its arm together and lifts up an individual to unexplainable glory but criticism can destroy a soul or a celebrated case into rubble as man is more interested in the negative news of someone.

iii. Friendship

Friendship is to be won quickly or a long lasting friend one has to develop an interest in what other people wanted while so doing you own interest is fulfilled as the world today is filled with people who are grapping and self seeking so the rare individual who unselfishly tries to serve others has enormous advantage than of personal interest. If I want to catch a fish I don’t have to think of what I wanted I would think about what the fish wanted if I bait the hook with strawberry and cream it may show no interest but by baiting the hook with worms or grasshopper and said wouldn’t you like to have that! “To bait the hook to suit the fish” the only way to influence the people is to talk about what they want and show them how to get them. “In as much as you have done it unto one of the least of my brethren, you have done it unto me”. Arouse in the other person an eager want, he who can do this has the whole world with him, he who cannot walks a lonely way. If there is any one secret of success, it lies in the ability to get the other person’s point of view and see things from that person’s angle as well as your own by Henry ford

iv. Interest in Others

The way to make people interested in you is by being genuinely interested in them, according to Alfred Adler a psychologist said “it is the individual who is not interested in his fellowmen who has the greatest difficulties in life and provides the greatest injury to life, it is among such individual that all human failures spring. You have to be interested in people if you want to be a successful writer of stories. If we want to make friends let’s put ourselves out to do things for other people, things that require time, energy, unselfishness and thoughtfulness.”

v. Smiling

Smiling is another essential key to manage one successfully, people who smile tend to manage, teach, and sell more effectively and to raise happier children, there is far more information in a smile than a frown. That is why encouragement is a much more effective teaching device than punishment. The effect of a smile is powerful even when unseen. You must have a good time meeting people if you expect them to have a good time meeting you. Action seems to follow feelings but really action and feelings go together and by regulating the action which is under the more direct control of the will we can indirect regulate the feeling.

vi. Controlling your thought

This is vital in the presentation your outward appearance to people, everybody in the world is seeking happiness and there is one sure way to find it. That is by controlling your thoughts, Happiness doesn’t depend on outward conditions, it depends on inner conditions. It isn’t what you have or who you are or what you are doing that makes you happy or unhappy. It is what you think about.

vii. Listening to Others

The ardent listening to other people. Listening is as important in one’s life as the chronic killer, even the most violent critic will frequently soften and be subdued in the presence of a patient sympathetic listener_ a listener who will be silent while the irate faultfinders dilates like a king cobra and spews the person out of his system. Many people fail to make a favorable impression because they don’t listen attentively; they have been so much concerned what they are going to say next that they do not keep their eyes open. The ability to listen seems better than almost any other good traits. If you aspire to be a good conversationalist, be an attentive listener, to be interesting, be interested. Ask questions that other person will enjoy answering. Encourage them to talk about themselves and their accomplishments.

3. How will these ideas or lessons help you in a practical way, both in your daily personal life and in helping you to create a better world? if so, how?

The practicability of this ideas is so advantageous in our everyday life, as I began reading these book I found out that I have undermine the basic technique of my being social in life and I complain that that I don’t have friends all because I kept to myself and due to lack of trust in others probably not wanting any one associate or put me in trouble because of the background I came from which exploited and handicapped me in the ability to make friend. As I began to put interest in others, smiling and reaching out to others through being an interested listener, controlling my thought and showing genuine interest in others, I have been able to acquire happiness and reduce loneliness.

4. Quotes: are there any statements which the author made that particularly got your attention? If so, please quote them and comment as to why they were important to you.

“I shall pass this way but once any good, therefore that I can do or any kindness that I can show to any human being, let me do it now, let me not defer nor defer nor neglect it. For I shall not pass this way again.”

This particular quote touches my heart that life is transime moves with it as most times you can never be at the exact spot even when you die, the people you come across as friends and enemies has its purpose either to make or mare you, whatever is the purpose, get the lesson out of it and move on with the piece of contribution of good to humanity as you may not have the opportunity of meeting them or them meeting you again as vanity set’s in and you must keep moving with time.

“Give honest sincere appreciation to people.”

“Be hearty in your approbation and ravish in your praise and people will cherish your words and treasure them and repeat them over a life time, repeat them years after you have forgotten them. Appreciating people with your praise is one of the enigmas that facilitate a better friendliness and association, giving a long lasting impression of your long lasting kind gesture and attitude of progress towards individual. Many prominent legends are remembered today as a result of their heart touching words which people began to repeat even though they have been long dead.”

5. Is there anything in the book that you do not understand or are unclear about, or are there ideas which you disagree with, if so, why?

The area I disagree with is in this quote; “people are more likely to accept an order if they have had a part in the decision that caused the order to be issued.”

In the military or paramilitary setting it is a must that an order is accepted whether you had a part in the decision that caused the order to be issued or not, once you are enlisted, it is imperative that you follow the order as any misdemeanor will amount to defaulting.

6. Did the book contain exercises for the reader to complete? If so, did you complete all of the exercises and did you find them helpful?

None I could find.

7. Was there anything you read in the book that you would like to comment on that was not covered in the previous questions? If so, please comment.

Do unto others what you want others do unto you. Respect is reciprocal; if you appreciate people definitely people will appreciate you. The unvarnished truth is that almost all the people you meet feel themselves superior to you in some way and a sure way to their heart is to let them realize in some subtle way that you recognize their importance and recognize it sincerely.

Keys to Success

Assessment by Kingsley Iyamu (Nigeria)

1. What is the main idea that the author is trying to convey in the book?

The main idea the author is trying to convey is for us to know the keys to succeed in this world in which definiteness of purpose is the starting point in all achievement and it’s lack is the stumbling block for ninety eight out of every hundred people simply because they never really define their goals and start working towards them. One single idea may have a greater weight than the labor of all the men, animals and engines for a century-Raph Waldo Emerson. Definiteness of purpose will act as a magnet to attract to you the specialized knowledge necessary for success, it makes you aware of opportunities related to your major purposes as it encourage you to specialize and specialization leads to perfection. The intensity with which you impress your subconscious with a picture of your plan directly effects the speed with which the subconscious will go to work to attract the picture physical counterpart by inspiring you to take the right step

2. What were the seven ideas which were personally most important to you and why? List these seven ideas followed by an explanation after each one as to why it was important to you. Use personal examples from your own life.

The seven ideas which were most important to me are all expressed in the Assembling of an attractive personality thus as:

i. In achieving lasting success

The first idea to keep in mind is to have a right mental attitude in any given situation which is most composed of such words as faith, integrity, generosity, tolerance, tact, kindliness, and good common sense. Positive mental attitude is the most important aspect of any attractive personality. PMA influences the seventeen principles of success, it influences your tone of voice, your posture, facial expression, and modifies every word you say which determines the emotions you feel unlike negative attitude which detest even the action of infinite intelligence.

ii. Flexibility

It entails being able to adapt yourself quickly to changing circumstances and emergencies without panic or loss of temper is a significant skill towards achieving success. If you have a flexible mind you would be able to adjust quickly to every situation but it does not mean not having a definiteness of purpose as a chameleon is still a chameleon even if it changes to any color.

iii. Sincerity of purpose

Everyone wants sincerity of purpose in every transaction be it business or relationship as purpose is what entangles every being, if the purpose of a relationship is sincere it will be worthwhile otherwise the flaws of insecurity through negative mental attitude begin to manifest and success will be truncated.

iv. Courtesy

This idea is so important to success because it attracts good emotion with reasonable reasons to help in your favor presently or future. It is nothing more than respecting other people feelings under all situations whether privilege or less privilege as everyone is bound to have one situation in which courtesy could cure.

v. Faith in infinite intelligence

This idea is very essential to success as the greatest outlet for the expression of initiative, imagination, enthusiasm, self reliance and definiteness of purpose is faith. Only a burning desire accompanied by deep emotional feeling opens the gate towards success as faith wipes out obstruction like intolerance by freezing your mind of human limitations, the only things over which you have complete control are your thoughts, the only privacy you have is in your mind and it is there you can make full and complete use of the power of your faith which is actually engrossed into every living creature. Faith made me see the fulfillment of the definiteness of my purpose to be real.

vi. Fondness for people

This idea is also important in being able to achieve a lasting success as fondness for people leave a mark in every one that you ever encounter it depends on the situation of cross roads as it creates likeness and people will always prefer to deal with someone it likes, no wonder a dog wags it tail with the one it likes and resent those it dislike through backing and through this idea I have created impact in people life.

vii. A good handshake

It is a simple skill that has been from generations but speaks a lot when done with sincerity of purpose as it can communicate many things like enthusiasm, love, relationship and cooperation. By this type of assertion people will always associate it with your personality thus a lot of friends began to be associated with me.

3 .How will these ideas or lessons help you in a practical way, both in your daily personal life and in helping you to create a better world? If so, how?

These various ideas combined has created an impact in my life while I begin to have faith in infinite intelligence it started attracting a lot of positive attitude, fondness of these people began to follow as more friend began to show, upon finding sincerity of purpose in the definiteness of purpose through the positive mental attitude I had and happiness Is springing me to success. work no longer be drudgery, it is as pleasurable as eating when I am hungry, strange things began to happen and people began cooperating with me on a friendlier note as a result my imagination became keener and alert.

4. Quotes: Are there any statement which the author made that particularly got your attention? If so, please quote them and comment as to why they were important to you.

There are various statement the author made which are very significant to me, among them are “it one thing to cast your bread upon the waters, it’s another to pretend not to notice when it just comes back wet and saggy” and also “you don’t wait for things to happen but make them happen.” If you don’t read a book the book will not enter you, if you don’t use your hand to eat food, the food will not jump into your mouth, so a lot of opportunities abound everywhere and if you don’t utilize it, it will just slip away.

5. Is there anything in the book that you do not understand or are unclear about, or are there ideas which you disagree with and, if so, why?

In analyzing thinking accurately it would not fit properly to say George bush’s methodical assembly of the desert storm alliance and the detailed planning of generals like Norman Schwarzkopf and Colin Powell put a stop to Saddam Hussein’s Hitler-like ambitions, watch out what has become of Iraq today, the action of George bush could not stop the idea of radicalism or Religious extremism that has been propagated and sown into generation of Iraqian, seeing every Americans as their enemy rather that was a negative mental attitude been penny wise and pound foolish desecrating the sovereignty of a nation without proper intelligence network.

6. Did the book contain exercise for the reader to complete? If so, did you complete all of the exercise and did you find them helpful?

The book has so many exercises to complete but the most appealing one to me is, PMA is commonly referred to as the “I can;” “I will” attitude applicable to all challenging circumstances in your life. I can; I will do all things in life with PMA with the remaining success principles applied appropriately in my life.

7. Was there anything you read in the book that you would like to comment on that was not covered in the previous questions? If so please comment.

Any worthless, superfluous or harmful habit can be broken and replaced with a more desirable one if you want it to be so as whatever your mind can conceive and believe, your mind can achieve it. If a drug addict understand cosmic habit force, it would be able to go through a rehabilitation and not relapse after it’s discharge from the rehab centre. All of us are ruled by habits, these are fastened upon us by repeated thought, environment and experiences, you have complete right of control over your thought so drug addict habits which has been develop as a result of repeated circumstances or influences can be neutralized or changed at will through the proper use of your mind. You have this power or will.

PsychoCybernetics

Assessment by Kingsley Iyamu (Nigeria)

1. What is the main idea the author is trying to convey in the book?

The main idea the author is trying to convey, is that our creator has endowed us with servo mechanism, a built in goal striving device with which to achieve our goals, a revolution takes place in the vast inner space of our mind and if you reach back to past success you reawaken the confidence to succeed in the present but if you go back to past failures you defeat yourself. The fulfillment in one’s life starts from the building of self image which is the individual mental and spiritual concept or picture of him standing as the real key to personality and behavior, change the self image and you change the personality and the behaviors as self image set the boundaries of individual accomplishment. The development of adequate realistic self image will seem to imbue the individual with new capabilities, new talents and literally turn failure to success.

2. What were the seven ideas which were personally most important to you and why? List these seven ideas followed by an explanation after each one as to why it is important to you. Use personal examples from your own life.

i. Reaching for today’s opportunities

A lot of opportunities abound in our everyday life, some has been lost in the past which has cause a lot of headache’s and reduce the self image of one to fragile insensitive human beings who has been easily hurt by failures and the way others have react to us in the past. We should realize today is in the present, we should forget yesterday blunders and stop worrying about the past, find what the present hold for the day and reach out for the opportunities by facing every challenge across you with the best in you, setting your goals delineating their limits, choosing method of moving towards them. After I finished my secondary school as there was not enough money for me to proceed to tertiary institution coupled with a several failure from attempted exams but I had to set a goal that however it would be I must attend tertiary institution so I got a job and started saving though meager I was not discouraged but took entrance exam again and passed it. I reach for the opportunity despite the hurdles I was facing in my work of time and finance I became focused and at last I graduated.

ii. Exercise

Exercise your rights to succeed, been ushered into this world is an opportunity itself and now launching into your today’s opportunities is another desire which will stem your desire to exercise your rights to succeed. How do you exercise this right? First you must instill this feeling in yourself, the feeling that you are worthy of success, that you deserve the good things. You must built belief in yourself by reactivating the success mechanism- the servo-mechanism within you. I grew up in an average family and I was not happy the way things were but I had it in my conscious mind that I would make it in life which I gradually worked towards and now I am happy with the level of progress in my family

iii. Awareness

Awareness of your real potential. For every human, there are potentials that are instilled in every human during the making and not every human are aware of, you must make yourself aware of your inner strength and of your basic identity of what you have done in the past and what you might do in the present and the future. I was privileged to be aware of the potential I was endowed maybe due to the religion I profess; it has been a success upon being aware of the potentials I am endowed with and trying to utilize it.

iv. Courage

This is very vital in aspiring towards your goal as it is the will to carry on your goal in the eventuality failure or setback set in your way, ability to bounce back on track. Courage means a concentrated capacity to start all over again when everything goes wrong, it means you must do more than recognize your strength and come to peace with your weakness. It means moving toward your goals in spite of the obstacle that may rear up in front of you. When I got married there was misunderstanding between me and my wife and there was no happiness and with the birth of my first son, I had the courage to surmount the rift that was between us.

v. How to jump hurdles

Every human must note that life is not a bed of roses but there are a lot of hurdles that abounds just as the natural world is constituted with “ups and down “so is the spiritual, the awareness that hurdles abounds is the first step of solution to a problem and the next is how to jump it. To achieve your goals, you will have to fight your way out of your sand traps and then jump your hurdles. You must do more than set your goals; anticipate probable hurdles associated with your goals and anticipatory solution of how to overcome them.

vi. Improvement

The moment you set goals, you should have the desire to aid the improvement of your goals as you want to better yourself, strengthen yourself image. You keep using your imagination creatively in pursuit of the improvement you seek. Improvement means clear, rational thinking channelized into creative performance directed at goal achievement.

vii. Seeing yourself successful

Considering yourself successful entails you should help yourself march on your goals when you bring out of your storehouse of memories your images of your past success so that you see and feel yourself as a successful individual. You should free yourself of fear, which will destroy your success goal.

3 .How will these ideas or lessons help you in a practical way, both in your daily personal life and in helping you to create a better world? If so how?

These ideas has been of immense help to me in the following ways; it has made me to know the rules and regulation guiding self image ,keeping up with yourself not somebody else taking note of the dual nature of man, it has made me develop a healthy self image of living in the present not in the yesterday as yesterday is gone, perish away, as you perish when you live in the past, further more it has made me to be able to take decision of setting goals instead of being in a position of doubt or indecision which implies fear which had hindered me in the past and presently which I have overcome. So with these ideas I have been bold and had taken certain decisions which are working for me today.

4. Quotes: Are there any statements which the author made that particularly got your attention? If so, please quote them and comment as to why they were important to you.

“My conscience won’t let me reach self fulfillment.”

This quotation eulogize the cloud that always fill the vacuum of the heart which dictates the direction it moves either in actualization of self fulfillment or self destruction. The world conscience had dealt with me over the years so that I will not fall into self image. It is because of the disease of the times, as I begin to be aware of the dangers of HIV, I began to abstain from multiple sexual partners and use condom, instances it breaks my consciences will not rest until I will go for test to ascertain my status which then brings me joy. I worked at a particular station where I was told that a lady who was religiously righteous which abstain from sexual immorality found out that she was infected by HIV, how come was the question and she could not find how it happened, because she could not bear the stigma associated with it as a result of lack of knowledge she jumped in front of a moving long truck and was crushed to death.

5. Is there anything in the book that you do not understand or are unclear about, or are there ideas which you disagree with and, if so, why?

.None but the practicability is what the question is.

6. Did the book contain exercise for the reader to complete? If so, did you complete all of the exercise and did you find them helpful?

i. Greatness comes to those who develop a burning desire to achieve high goal

I was born to a family where we manage to live from hand to mouth, as a result I kept to myself hoping that one day fate would smile on me and my family, and I was having negative mental attitude always living in fear of trying so that I should not cause trouble for my parent who barely had non for trouble settling, so I became reserved but I became matured I learnt that I have to reach out, I have to have an optimistic mind so that I can I can be able to attain a little feat of progress and I began to develop a burning desire, and with this book I develop a great conviction that all my definiteness of goals can be achieved.

ii. Success is achieved and maintained by those who try and keep on trying with positive mental attitude.

Henry ford was able to produce the v8 block engine because of his persistency. When you start having a positive mental attitude towards success all the laws of success start treading your way to climb because it attracts all the laws and with your emotions and reasons you will put in place the laws and follow them and before saying jack Robinson you have climbed the ladder of success, which I have constantly been practice and is yielding positive result of happiness in my family.

iii. To become a expert achiever in any human activity it takes practice, practice, practice.

Practice they say makes perfect, continuous practice would lead to perfection that is why as I continuously read my books I get more understanding everyday and more knowledge of which I use to compare myself with the author of the book that it should have been written this way.

iv. Effort and work can become fun when you establish specific desirable result or goals.

When you set a goal and gets the result happiness, including satisfaction comes out of It, as it does, likeness and fun begins of that specific thing which begin to run in your head then makes you want to continuously do the work.

v. With every adversity there is a seed of an equivalent or greater benefit for those who are motivated with positive mental attitude to become achievers.

Sometimes the things that seems to be adversaries turns out to be opportunities in disguise, so one has to engage in reasoning time to determine how you can turn adversaries into seeds of equivalent or greater benefit.

vi. Man’s greatest power lies in the power of prayer.

We all acknowledge the presence of supernatural being whom we all revered, adored and lay all issues of life before, which we believe can intervene at one’s darkest hour to bring light at the end of every tunnel beyond human imagination, however a man with positive mental attitude will arrange his attitude that will turn even the bad bricks into advantage, while that man with negative attitude with no thought of the prayer that lies in prayer prolong, repels every breakthrough coming it way. I worked in a place which took two days to get to from my family, and the cost of transportation was exacting on my income so I complained to my superior for a transfer near home, for four years nothing was done and I decided to pray about it and with amazement I received a letter that two of us has been transferred and I saw I was near my family.

vii. “We should never let our mental attitude make you.”

It has been “when you become a successful person, and a depression or any other unfavorable circumstances arises which causes you a loss or defeat, act on the self motivator; success is achieved by those who try and maintained by those who keep trying with positive mental attitude. This is the way to avoid being crushed.

3. How will these ideas or lessons help you in a practical way, both in your daily personal life and in helping you to create a better world? If so, how?

These ideas will help me in several ways in being able to achieve success in life, firstly it help me to boost my believe in my faith as it encourage me to have a positive mental attitude towards all men and activities in life as it says love all men and do good to them that hate you. Jealousy sometimes is the root of hatred as progress begin to alight your way, some negative mental attitude begin to crop up some people mind towards you and as you begin to notice or detect through the posture of your positive mental attitude, you begin to deal or repel them so that the same positive mental attitude will flow or align with them as they are either around you for one purpose or the other.

“When you read aloud twice daily, the written statement of your desire for money with emotion and concentrated attention, and you see and feel yourself already in possession of the money, you communicate the object of your desire directly to your subconscious mind. Through repetition of this procedure, you voluntarily create thought habits which are favorable to your effort to transmute desire into its monetary equivalent.”

“Let me say again it is most important that when you read aloud the statement of your desire through which you are endeavoring to develop a money consciousness, you read with emotion and strong feeling.”
