Please describe your vision of a world that works for everyone.

My vision for the world that works for everyone is the world where there is no hatred between people and where they live together as brothers and sisters without any conflict, the world where there is no one who is suppressing the other and human beings are equal whether they are black or white, poor or rich, Christian or Muslim without any discrimination and the world where there is no hunger and death of children.

What do you see as the most pressing problems facing the world today?

In my opinion the most pressing problem that the world is facing today is the global climate change. Currently many places are being hit by storm, heavy rain, earth quakes, drought and forest fires. These disasters are adding misery to the lives of many poor people in different parts of the world. In addition to this, the ice-burgs on the poles are melting which in-turn increases the sea level and that is also a treat for cities and countries which are located on sea shores. All these natural disasters are the result of human beings destroying the natural vegetation and its activities towards industrialization and development which releases a huge amount of CO2 to the atmosphere resulting on the depletion of the ozone layer.

How do you feel these problems could best be solved?

This problem of global climate change can be easily solved if we as a whole change our culture of the usage on natural vegetation like replacing a tree when we cut one, investing on environmental conservation programs as a country and a responsible individual to reforest our planet. In addition especially the developed countries have to limit the amount of CO2 their industries release to the atmosphere and the developing countries have to also follow a way to development which doesn’t have a negative impact on our planet by building a green economy program that supports both the development of a countries economy and preserving the environment like the usage of renewable energy sources such as wind or solar rather than using fuel which releases a high amount of CO2 to the atmosphere.

Profile
I am Yohannes B. Bekele from Ethiopia. I have a first degree in engineering from Arba minch University and now I am working towards my second degree at Addis Ababa university. I am currently working as a network architect in a governmental institution which works on ICT sector.

Personally I am interested in two main things, reading books and traveling. Since I am a kid, with the help of my families, I read lots of books on different subjects which I think shaped my life today and made me what I am and I think now. All the characters I read about contributed something to my today’s well being so that I like reading so much as it guide me through hard times and making me learn from the failure of others as showing me what not to repeat in my life while traveling on the same road in addition to the knowledge I get as I go through the pages.

As for traveling, I am very much interested in seeing natural and man made heritages and my country is blessed by both. When I was in lower and middle school, I was the one who organize traveling events in the school and an active participant in all of those so that I can see every natural and artificial beauty and heritage around my home-town. After I graduated from college my first job was ideal for this situation as it makes me travel for field work and the sites of work are spread thorough the country, I saw every corner of my country with its natural resources and culture right from the source. This was one of the best experiences of my life. Now a days also when I have time and on occasions, I travel to different places. In the future, if things allow me, I have a dream of seeing the world’s historical and natural beauties which I know about by reading and picture.

In addition to these hobbies, I am interested in participating in charity events especially where the young can help the aged and the orphans . When I was in college I was the member of the Charity Club in the university which helps orphan kids continue their study by raising money and helping them financially and giving tutorials to them so that they can continue their studies. Although I got no extra large income, as most of a developing country youngsters do, I am glad to share what I have to those who earn way much less than me. It touches my heart when I see children on the streets begging because they have a bright future but it is being ruined by poverty so that tomorrows leaders and scientists gave up their class today to get bread for survival. I want to work on this area in the future in helping children continue their studies and see them tomorrow where they deserve rather than on the streets.

Additionally, in my leisure time I constantly work out at gym, watch movies especially documentaries, share ideas with friends and go to Church.
