Ntobo Valentine Ekombo – Assessments

As A Man Thinketh
Assessment by Valentine Ekombo Ntobo (Cameroon)

1. What is the author is trying to convey in the book

The main idea behind this book is the behaviour or character of human being which is reflected by their thoughts.

2. What were the seven ideas which were personally most important to you and why? List these seven ideas followed by an explanation after each one as to why it

The body is the servant of the mind.

Here anything the mind thinks immoral will be transcend to the body and will subsequently demoralize it. lf one thinks a positive way, the body will be signal and it will live healthy.

Once there is fear or doubt of doing anything, the mind immediately sends it to the body And with this the body will is demoralized.

For example if you don’t prepare well in an exam but you are to write the exam you will develop fear and this will be send to the body and it will be demoralize.

If one had never stolen he/she can not just =get up one day to go and still. until one had conceived some stealing thoughts in his/her mind that the body will be notify and this will demoralize the body.

Men do not attract that with they want, but that which they are.

The thoughts of men portray what they are, that is to say lf they have

Stealing thoughts in their mind. For example I got a friend who comes from a wealthy family. They have everything at their disposal and behold this guy still goes out to thief. Here from the lesson learned, I will know that this boy is not stealing because he want but because he had, conceived that wrong thoughts of stealing in his mind.

Suffering is always the effect of wrong thoughts in some direction.

This point is important to me because if I conceive wrong thoughts, I will be liable to suffering example if I notice that there is a riot and just jump in with that knowing the main cause and the effects, when caught and jail, I will be suffering and this will be because of my wrong thoughts to this effect. Also when I don’t have positive thoughts I turn to suffer. For example, if in a class, my friends and I are not suffering one and the same subject, and I see that they are performing well in their series and I switch to join them in offering the same series, in the tail end when an exam is set and I happen not to succeed, because it was not my series, I will learn that wrong thought have push me to wrong direction.

Good thoughts and actions can never place bad results bad thoughts and actions can never produce good results.

To an extend this statement may be true. That is to say that they are some people whose actions and thoughts are just to attract people, may be they were aiming for something and they decides to portray this characters thoughts. After achieving what they are out for they get back to their usual characters and thought. Here we see that some people’s characters and thoughts are deceitful. While they are other, this type may know that since they don’t have something to loss or gain may decides to wear this characters, and also they are who may be doing it ignorantly and can be change to produce good results.

Example If we take a group of students going to school, and their main aim is to attain the highest level of education. If they are reading well and pass their exams, they will achieve their goal. So good thought and actions can never produce bad results. Whereas bad thoughts and actions can never produce good results because, if one is a thief, one day he/she will be caught and killed and so that is why bad thoughts and actions can never produce good results.

Laws, not confusion is the dominating principle in the unwires, justice, not injustice, is the soul and substance of life. Righteousness not corruption, is the mold and moving force in the spiritual government of the world.

When justice is practice, there is righteousness but when injustice is practice there is corruption for example most governments in developing countries are corrupt because of injustice. When a person is dismiss from his post because of corruption no justice is carried on him because of corruption, and when a next person takes over that post, the same corruption will continue because they will say nothing was done to him or her for corruption and so that person will still continue with the regime of corruption because of injustice thereby destroying the mold and moving force in the spiritual government of the world.

3. How will these ideas or lessons help you in a practical way, both in your daily personal life and in helping you to create a better world? If so, how

This idea will help me in that if my mind is calm, not thinking about odd things, I can create an impact. In the sense that I will tend and be thinking about positive things. Here my thoughts will make my purpose real. There are situations, where my mind is disturb and during this time I always thing about negative things and with this I can not do any reasonable thing for myself. So I have come to realize that if my mind is always thinking on a positive direction and this will in turn make me prosper and as such if everybody is thinking to that effect, the world will be a better place to be.

Ii. The idea is to end suffering. It should not be that suffering is the main effect of wrong thought. In other direction it may be. So the main thing is to have good thoughts which can change my standards of life. For example when going to bed in the evening, next days program of activities. When I get up the next morning, I just apply the program which makes me to be occupied always. An ideal minds will always discuss evil but busy minds will discuss ideas and as such this will lead me to a better world.

Iii There are situations where I suffer out of ignorant. With this I use to attribute suffering to some individuals forgetting to know that it may be because of my wrong thoughts and characters. But as soon as I discovers that this was the cause of my suffering, I now tend to adjust and turn away from wrong thoughts and characters, embraces positive thinking thus right thoughts leads me to right directions, prosperity comes my way thereby contributing positively to the development of the world at large.

This is very important to me because I will tend to know some peculiarities of life. That wrong thoughts may send me to a wrong direction while right thoughts to right direction. That if because of suffering and I come to realize the cause of what had been making me suffer, I immediately needs to deviate from it and embraces the right side, I will tend to know how to manage my life well and thus develop positive thinking to develop the community

Iv In order to weed out all the unholy, unuseless, impure, wrong, thoughts from my mind, I will live a calm life and contribute positively to the growth of the society. If i am interacting with a thief then I will consequently become a thief, this will be as a result of the negative characters, thoughts and impression that is attach to this people.

Also in my daily life if i tend to be walking with smokers, which I presume is not a good behaviour, and thought, i will be seen as bad person too since i will develop this character.

So I think in order to create a better world, I will need to abstain from all these impure attitudes that can tarnish my character and behaviour in the society and tend to create a positive impact and contribute positively to the smooth running of the society.

If I tend to realize the error of thoughts, and focuses on accuracy then my mind will strive towards building a better society thus portraying a good character and destiny guaranteed.

In everything i must have something to think about i can not think of become a rich man without thinking on a right direction.

If i think well of doing something and if It come to happen that i have succeeded in achieving my goal, it will be because of my right thoughts that has place me in this circumstances.

4. Quotes: Are there any statements which the author made that particularly got your attention? If so, please quote them and comment as to why they were important to you.

“a man is inertly what he thinks, his character bring the total sum of all his thoughts”.

A man may tend to know himself well then portray the out character so as to attract people. There are some people whose character may not necessary prove who the type of people or persons they are. Some people’s character are very good but with poor thought and vice versa.

This is important to me because I know I can not just judge a person from his or her character then draws a conclusion but will also take certain criteria into consideration. They are people with bad or negative thoughts but good character.

“acts is the blossom of thoughts joy and suffering are its fruits thus does a man garner in the sweet and bitter initiate of his own husbandry.”

It is important me because some people will always like to attribute their achievements to their hard work for getting to know that it is their right thinking that brought them these frontage while some may turn to attribute their suffering to other people forgetting to know that it may be because of their wrong thinking.

“If a man’s mind have evil thought, pain comes on him as comes the wheel the ox behind”.

This is equally important to me because the result of evil mind will leads to failure in life and subsequently bad character in the society vice versa.

“It is pleasing to human vanity to believe that one suffers because of one’s virtue, but not until a man has extirpated every sickly bitter, and impure thought from his soul, can he be in a positive to know and declare that his suffering are the result of his good and not of his bad thoughs”.

I also noticed this point important because not all those who are rich can attributes their riches to their suffering before being what or who they are today. They are people who achieve their riches in a crocket way but can not expose it out. It is best known to them. They can not say through which means they got their riches but only attribute their suffering before being who they are.

They are equally some who got their riches in a right way. That is they may have been thinking rightly in the society and because of their good character they are who they are today.

“ Every man is where he is by the law of his being”.

Also I find this point too worthily important because there are situations where we are force, bound, accept certain things before we are offered a job. For example, a man who was born from a wretched family may grow tomorrow to become a billionaire. The source to which he had manage to attain this level may only be best known to him. Also there are people in top ranking position especially in the developing countries who had sacrifice a lot, say they were force to enter into occultism, kill their relatives in order to maintain certain positions in the country for long.

Equally there are situation where one writes an exam with somebody. After the publication of result, one happen to feature amongst the list but since one come from a wretched family, without money, so one who did not even write the exams but has money come to by your name. so our character and thoughts in this way needs to be questioned to how our behaviour really is. But if we tend to say no to this evil deeds, we will build a solid and a good society where our next generation will live to enjoy.

“Good thoughts bear good fruits bad thoughts bad fruits”.

This point too is important to me because, if we reason the good directions, we will always achieve positive goals. Our character and thoughts in this sense can not mislead us. Here thought and character matters a lot. There are people who because of mislead and bad thoughts are suffering today. Not because of their likeness but because of misdirection. Also there are people who have good thoughts and can bear bad fruits as regard their character while there are people too with bad thoughts who can bear good character. Here we will need to be critical on how we assess somebody because we can be mislead too.

“Just as a gardener cultivates his plot, keep it free from weeds, and grow the flowers fruits which he requires so may a man tend the garden of his mind, weeding out all the wrong, useless and impure thoughts, and cultivating toward perfection the flowers and fruits of right, useful, and pure thoughts”.

This point particularly strikes me because our mind needs not to be tilled to a wrong direction. If we concentrate our minds towards negative things, so shall our character and thought be thereby impacting useless, impure and wrong ideas to our minds. But if we want perfection, we will always cultivate our minds, keeping if free from evils or allowing it grow wild.

Also we can strike perfection if we discover the errors of thoughts and character for example, walking with somebody who is badly brought up from their home may influence your character and thoughts. Also if a person is a thief, and he is your friend, already that scar on that person will equally be visible in you too. Or you walk with someone who smokes, cigarette, with his character and thoughts you will be view too as such even if you are not a smoker or a thief.

So we use tend to understand these basic principles, we will operate a good life thereby shaping our character, circumstance and destiny.

Dream softy dreams and as you dream, so shall you become.

I find this point vital because there are times which after much sacrifices and one come to be some body, people will not know how much you have sacrifice but will only base their mind on attributes such as luck, chance. Forgetting to know that if we strive towards something, there is no doubt that we can not achieve it. For example when I was small. I use to dream how I will one day complete my high school and become a minister. This is because I use to admire my senior brothers who were in high school. I use to fear them because only hearing that this or that person is in high school was already a cause for panic. So I developed this and today I realize my dream. To desire is to obtain, to aspire is to achieve.

Also with the case of how man may be suffering because of wrong thoughts is certain direction, I also deem this necessary because there are situation where in the society one can be neglected because of his thoughts. That is to say if in a group of 20, I decides to reason the opposite direction, in this case I will turn to illustrate my relationship with others like wise in school. I may do this and not succeed in passing exams., at work and home, people will stay away from me. So my purpose of maintain a good relationship with people may be at home, work and school will be to reason in union with them. Also the environment, purpose, goal, vision too will matter what you will turn to look like. Here equally, I can encounter your fair circumstances because of my thoughts which may lead to wrong direction. I have also come to relaise that if I have good thoughts and actions, my end result will always be a positive achivevement. While if my mind is poisoned, I will end up cultivating wrong ideas. If for example my mind is calm and focus, I will develop positive thoughts and my health and body will grow healthier. But if my mind is disturbed, that is to say always thinking about evil, my health and body will never be in good conciliation. Thereby frustrating your relationship both at home, school and at job site, but I turn to think in the right direction, then I will attract people to my site there by stranding the relationship at all levels

Equally if I understand the law binding my society, I will not fall a victim of circumstance because I will not be confuse in any direction. Here I will know what is good and bad for me. Knowing fully well that corruption is bad, I will turn to think on the positive site in other to be righteous, thereby creating a good relationship both at home, school and work place. But if I take corruption, confusion and injustice as my priorities, this will damage my relationship with the outside world as there are the evil aspect of the society which can never good governance. I believe that one must have a purpose before achieving any goal in life. There are situation where applied for a job and the employer openly demanded a huge some of money from me. So when I told he a not capable, the had to send me out of his office telling me to only come back when the money is available

In this case I saw a glaring example of corruption here. That is to say people where not employ because of their ability, qualification but because of their financial strength thereby distorting relationship below this employer and

5. Is there anything in the book that you do not understand or are unclear about, or are there ideas which you disagree with and, if so, why?

Yes, I am unclear about how to judge a person from his character and behaviour because the writer never explained how one can judge from this to know the persons thoughts, since a person’s thoughts can not be judge from his character and behaviour alone.

6. Did the book contain exercises for the reader to complete? If so, did you complete all of the exercises and did you find them helpful?

Yes, the exercises were very helpful to one. This is because I will now need to know some peculiarities in life which I had been neglected, not knowing that they are very important in shaping my life. Here, I equally noticed that if I think well I will achieved my purpose and if my mind is calm I will think positively. And also that visions are at the real. So I find these excesses important and helpful.

7. Was there anything you read in the book that you would like to comment on that was not covered in the previous questions? If so, please comment.

Yes. I will like to note here that viewing somebody from his or her outward character is not enough to draw a conclusion. This is because they are people who have wrong character but have positive thinking. Equally they are people with wrong character and thoughts that can be change to right character and thoughts especially some people may dream of becoming a minister in the near future but now portray a deceitful character and thoughts, but can be change in the long run and finally achieve their goal. Here we can say that ones destiny can only be delay but can not be changed or taken away.

Please rate the following questions on a scale from 1 to 10. Ten is good and one is poor.

A. How interesting was it to read? 3
B. How helpful were the contents? 2
C. How easy was it to understand? 2
D. Would you recommend it to others? 3
E. What is the overall rating you would give it? 10/10

Pointing out to these vital ideas got from this interesting book, I have now known how I will interact with persons in the community. If I noticed your thoughts and character to be directed to a positive direction I will know how and which way to interact with you. But if your thoughts and character are to a negative direction I will equally know how I will interact with the person, be it at home, school or jobsite.

Jonathan Livingston Seagull
Assessment by Valentine Ekombo Ntobo (Cameroon)

1. What is the author is trying to convey in the book.

The author is trying to convey the behaviour and character of animal as reflected by their thoughts.

2. What were the seven ideas which were personally most important to you and why? List these seven ideas followed by an explanation after each one as to why it was important to you. Use personal examples from your own life.

i) Jonathan seagull’s main aim was not get to shore and look for food but flight.

Here we see that Jonathan seagull did not want to believe that the idea on spending the whole time looking for food was his main priority but he knew that he can go to shore and get food. What he did here was to experiment how head what he can do to over come the believe which other seagulls relied on. He finally flight to the highest height as he had long for.

This is a very big lesson to learn because we should on be depending on what we are doing but also try to see what we can do in life especially if I need something, I can not just full my arms and sit for the thing to come and meet me. Since I know I have my two hands and legs to do what ever thing which I can do to earn a living, I will go ahead to do just that. When I do it, I will have my result to be good.

ii) If one wants to do some good venture in life, there must be some obstacles as was Jonathan seagull.

As we see in the book before Jonathan seagull could carried out his experiment to fly to its desirable height, he had faced a lot of obstacle, both from his colleagues and parents. So this is very important to me because i have learned that if i am aim to do something in life be it what, I know i must do that to the end because i know i must encounter some difficulties. For example, there was a time when i was preparing to write my promotion exams. When ever i took up my book to read, that is the time my friends will come to take me out. But since i knew what i was out for i always denounce their invitation during such pick periods. Behold when our exams was released, these friends had to repeat while i succeeded. So if i did not turn down this continuous called I may have repeated too. So this is a big lesson to learn.

iii) We can list ourselves out of ignorance, we can find ourselves as creation of excellence and intelligence and skills. We can be free! We can learn to fly.

Here we learned that we can change from something to something. Provided we are willing to. If Jonathan seagull did not take time willingly to experiment on how far seagulls can fly in the air, century upon century, they would not have known what they can do and undo. So Jonathan seagull in this case was just like an eye opener to other seagulls who will be willing to change.

I also find this point important in that we need to make a change. There are things which we can do despite our limitations. If we full our aims and sit, we will not know what we can do. For example with the coming of the computer age, if i had full my arms and sit, today i would not have known anything on how to use the computer, I will in this case be dying of ignorance while the intelligence and skills are there but no way to exploit them. So I strongly believe as human being that we can create an impact in our society.

iv If we learn today, we will surely reach perfection and that what we learn today shapes our tomorrow world.

This point is also important to me because we can not just stay like that and gull our arms without thinking how the future will look. We need to be creative in any endeavour in order to see a better and free world where corruption, injustice, abuse of human rights exist. So if we know the purpose why we are in this world, we will at least not stay ideal but strive towards perfection. And immediately we succeeds, we need to share our experience with others so that our world can be develop.

v) I have also learned from this because that we should always try to learn and share with others. If not we will turn to suffer ignorantly.

Jonathan seagull have spend all his time day and night without eating but just to see his vision of flying to higher height come true. So as he put in more effort, he finally succeeded in his venture while he was honour in the presence of other gulls.

This too should also apply in our life that when we are out for something, we should see that we finish out courses to the end, because we will face obstacles on our way even if it is what, we try to overcome our limitation.

If we think to reason wisely like Jonathan seagull, will always strive perfection. Example, I know that any decision I make will probably shape my destiny. If I decide to take the wrong direction then I will suffer the effects.

vi) I also notice that the thoughts and characters of seagulls are not the same.

Jonathan seagull with his colleagues had never reasoned on a parallel time. While Jonathan was perceiving the future and how to break the bounds some of this mates were more that short sighted focusing on the immediate needs. It is only after Jonathan purpose and attitudes had taken him to higher attitudes his mates saw what he was out for.

The point is clear because we should learn how to develop skills that will support the community. And to do this, we should learn to persevere because it will take a long time. Example to go in for a three or four year course in the university needs a lot of pecievirance to go through.

viii) Jonathan finally saw gulls that reasoned like him, not taking food as their first priority but flight.

In this case if we see people whose thoughts characters, vision, purpose are the same to ours, believe we will not hesitate to merge with them since they can create a change. Jonathan seagull left his initial settlement to took for where he can learn the more, he finally met those whose purpose and vision were like his. So he had to tighten himself to the in order to create a positive environment which will be suitable for others who believed that seagulls were limited of their mature. This is a very big lesson to learn because in life if you see a person whose thoughts, vision and purpose are like yours, I believe you will not need to dive to the negative direction since both of you can create a suitable environment. For example when I was growing, I used to mingle myself with friends whose vision were contrary to mind, but immediately I realize other group of persons whose vision thoughts and characters were like mind, I immediately suitable to the direction that can yield me positive fruits.

ix) I have also noted here that, learning is a continuous process. If we know something, we should not slip learning as change told Jonathan. This point too is important because there are occasions where we know some and turn to relax, not putting things practically. So if we happen to get a good mentor who can direct us how to go about life, I believe thing will always work well with us.

I have equally come to know that learning is a continuous process. There are times when we learned things and get to forget. Also I have come to note that if we know what we are out for, that is vision and purpose, we will keep on working in other to develop the society at large. Jonathan was a dynamic bird as we see from the book because we was eager to learn and at any one time that he learned he did not keep to result to himself but had to extend its to others. Although there were some who were not happy with his experiment, but he created history. So in our society we need to create history by directing the community the right way out. We should not be ignorant and damage our skills.

3. How will these ideas or lessons help you in a practical way, both in your daily personal life and in helping you to create a better world? If so, how?

With the ideas learned, I will get to know how to manage the community. Since I know people minds are not the same and people have different characters, purpose, vision and thoughts. It will equally make me to know which idea to that suite which place. As Jonathan and Sullivan know exactly what to do to manage and direct other seagulls.

I have equally learned that if I aim for something and put in more effort, I will succeed in life. Jonathan’s aim to fly to higher height was realized. So I know that if I want to achieve something in life I will put in more effort to see that all what I aim for be realize. When this happens, it will help me create a better world at large, since I know that the decision I take or made shapes my destiny.

4. Quotes: Are there any statements which the author made that particularly got your attention? If so, please quote them and comment as to why they were important to you

“see here, Jonathan said his father, not unkindly” writer isn’t far away. Boats will be few, and the surface fish will be swimming deep if you must study, then study food, and how to get it.”

Here we realize that anything we try to do we must face stiff resistance and obstacles in life. Jonathan had not had it easy with family and mates to achieve his aim. It is only after he break record is important to me in the sense that if we are out for any positive thing which can leach to the growth of the society despite the obstacle resistance that we go through, if we are really bend and know the purpose we will put in effort until we reach our target.

“To fly as fast as thought, to anywhere that is he said “ you must begin by knowing that you have already arrived.”

This point too is equally important because once we have any idea in mind to do anything we first of all needs to consider the good side of it as Jonathan was advised. With this we will turn to put in more effort to effect this change. Also if we have a good mentor who can direct us the right part to follow then we will not regret our life’s. So this point is of more importance to me. We have seen that learning is a continuous process. Jonathan had attended higher heights but still continue to learn other easy technique of flying.

“Each of us is in truth an idea of the great gull, and unlimited ideas of freedom.”

This is equally important because we learned that some seagull’s main aim was just looking for food forgetting to know that they have an unlimited idea of freedom. This has made Jonathan to open them eyes on the unlimited ideas that seagulls are and can do. As human beings we need to be creative and foster development. If we follow the example of Jonathan seagull, we will create a better world indeed.

“ We are free to go where we wish and to be what we are.”

Here we also notice that Jonathan seagull after knowing that those who stayed with him were not reasoning the same, he decided to leave for where he could have a better thought and experience. So he left, went and met Sullivan seagull, Fletcher seagull and martin William gull. This was in effect to update his knowledge and he did.

We see this point important because if we are in an environment where the present condition can instead mislead us, we can change side to have a better condition.

5. Is there anything in the book that you do not understand or are unclear about, or are there ideas which you disagree with and, if so, why?

I am unclear on how one can judge the attitudes of behaviour of seagulls.

6. Did the book contain exercises for the reader to complete? If so, did you complete all of the exercises and did you find them helpful?

Yes. there were very helpful to me is that I will in a bit know how to manage certain animals/ human if I am opportune. I will know the right idea to deliver any an place in time. This will equally help in shaping or giving the community a good look.

7. Was there anything you read in the book that you would like to comment on that was not covered in the previous questions? If so, please comment.

Please rate the following questions on a scale from 1 to 10. Ten is good and one is poor.

A. How interesting was it to read? 2
B. How helpful were the contents? 2
C. How easy was it to understand? 2
D. Would you recommend it to others? 2
E. What is the overall rating you would give it? 8/10

Judging from this book I will know how to socialize myself in the society. I will know how to interact with any person I meet on my site be it in school, at home or at the job site. Knowing fully well that all minds and character are not the same and that viewing somebody from the outer appearance is not enough to classify people, I will know which type of idea to apply at which place and at which time. That is at home, school, and jobsite. These ideas too will help me to build the community at large.

Keys To Success
Assessment by Valentine Ekombo Ntobo (Cameroon)

1. What is the main idea that the author is trying to convey in the book?

The author is trying to relate the behaviors / characters of human beings in relation to the Seventeen principles of personal achievement. How we can use these principles to attain success in our lives provided we use them in a positive way. He draw experience from some great people who have achieved lasting success as a result of these principles. Here each and every principle explains the exact motive behind the success of people who reasons positively, and the principles all depend of each others, that is one can not develop one without relying upon and developing others at the same time.

2. What were the seven ideas which were personally most important to you and why? List these seven ideas followed by an explanation after each one as to why it was important to you. Use personal examples from your own life.

i) Definiteness of Purpose:

What we intent to become is the secrete core of this point. Before we achieve our goals in life, we must have started somewhere. Here if we set our objectives in a concise and positive manner couple with faith, we will surely attain our success. As you can agree with me that no one has even got up in a day and achieve success without ever thinking of a starting point or definiteness of purpose. This too has called for specialization, budgeting time and money, currents to opportunities, making wise decision, cooperation, having faith in all that we do, conceiving success as our goal, putting definiteness of purpose to work, creating a good plan to success, and finally if these are well manage, success is worthy to come our way.

ii) The Idea of Mastermind Principle:

This alliance is built of two or more minds works actively together in perfect harmony toward a common definite object. It lets one appropriate, and use the full strength of the experience, training and knowledge of other people just as any obstacle faced with, no matter one’s education or talents. With this point, one can use it to build a sound society, that is gathering facts from one or two persons putting them enforce for the growth of the society. We will know that they are people who are gifted with specific talents and if we merge with this types and use our initiatives well, we will lead to success. This principle will go a long way to limit the occurrence of dictators who think they can influence society should only hear for them. So if we use this principle well, we will build a world beyond reasonable doubt that each and everyone can be flexible. It will again help me know how to manage different kinds of people with different views and together in a group, I will know how to approach other members in a positive way. This will entile leads to positive contribution – ideas, plan, faith which will help enrich the society world.

iii) Learning from Defeat:

Nature puts it that before one achieve any success in life, he/she must have come across failure or resistance at first. There are several attempts which great people have made which during the course, met with failures and due to pressure, going the extra mile, applying faith, with positive mental attitude finally hit their target-success. example after several attempts by Edison to create a light bulb which first met with some failure, he finally succeeded, due to his faith and positive mental attitude he applied. This point has enrich me with the idea that what ever thing I want to do, to be successful, i must encounter difficulties and pains at the start which is how nature speaks to every one, pointing out mistakes. And that what I need to do is to go the extra-mile, apply faith with positive mental attitude. This will see me through. Also, I have learned here that there are times which adverse situations may lead to blessing. So we need to exercise patience in every bit we do. People too have come short of their success simply because they did not portray the following

– Definite major purpose – Negative mental attitude
– Inadequate education – Unfavorable childhood influences
– Self – discipline – lack of emotional control
– Disloyalty – the desire to get something of nothing
– Desire for revenge – unwillingness to go the extra mile
– Egotism and vanity – intolerance.

All these strengthens one’s providing it with a challenge to greater effort.

iv) The Principle of Assembling An Attractive Personality: Here, there are some qualities which one portray that will quality him a man. Failure to apply this principle will lead to one’s dove fall. Some of the characteristic are

Positive Mental Attitude – The right to positive mental attitude in any given situation which qualifies success is most often composed of the plus- Characteristics such as – faith, hope, optimism, courage, tolerance, go common sense just to name a few and thus having this will mean that one’s actions and thoughts will further one’s end.

Also this idea leads to flexibility that is to adapt to certain circumstances quickly without panic or loss of temper. If we exercise this principle, we will upgrade our society. This will help us to know which type of approach to use during the situation one face at hand. For instance, there are situation that may warrant me to loss temper but with these idea in mind now, I will know how to commit myself to existing circumstances that might mislead me.

v) the Principle of Applied Faith:

The awareness of, belief in, and harmonizing with the universal power is our core of the day, Faith- this principle go a long way to teach us how to behave in society when face with certain conditions which may warrant us to quite the race, but if we have a positive mental attitude, faith and are willing to go the extra-mile, then we will achieve success. In every of such tense moment, we should not even think of anything like fear or not be defeated because defeat is never the same as failure unless and until it has been accepted as such. We need to commit ourselves to prayers, mediation, apply faith, feel for others, so as achieve success. For instance, there are time that when i am difficulties i conceive negative thoughts of say wanting to have something for nothing. But immediately I think of the impact on me and may be on my next generation i result to adjust myself. (flexible)

vi) The Principle of Control Attention:

Taking a decision to focus on something makes one to directs his attention thus the act of coordinating all the faculties of the mind and directing their combined power to a given end leads to control attention. If we turn to specialize on a single domain, this will increase our chances of focusing our attention on that particular domain- here again concentration our definite major purpose to one direction is vital. That is deciding on what one wants, creating a plan for it, strictly following the plan with faith, thought ,positive mental attitude going the extra mile and the mastermind alliance just to name a few will not let you down. For instance I have had situation where i take a decision on carrying out a task and because of lack of faith, lack of control attention, lack of idea of going the extra mile, I turn to quite the race, thereby forgetting to know that success attracts success while failure attracts failure.

vii) The Principle of Inspire Team Work:

This is cooperation like love, friendship. Thus if we encourage this, we will always grow rich as interacting with many different persons of diverse views helps in building a solid team work provided you help them in commitment of the work from others. This will let them discover what they are up to. So when you are at the head, always lead your associates’ needs to work with you willingly. As one is at the top, he set up the aims of the work and not making it comb son to others. If this happens this way, it will lead to the growth and expansion of our society.

3. How will these ideas or lessons help you in a practical way, both in your daily personal life and in helping you to create a better world? If so, how?

This will help me know how to manage people of different background working towards a common definite objective.

This idea will speed the growth of the society as every body is oriented towards a common goal.

I will know the right part to follow as a result of climate change. That is to say having a positive mental attitude will shape my notion towards this threatening hazard.

I need to have enough rest (sleep), eat well and exercise my body so as to achieve success in life

It will lead to less constraint in time and specially since everybody will be at work.

We should form alliance that will help us achieve our goals in life. The achievement of my goal in relation to my mastermind alliance depends on the members of the alliance

It will lead to full participation and build up capacity in leadership in the wider sense. As no one is allow to over right others which may leads to dictatorship- power concentration to one direction.

That defeat is never the same as failure unless and until it has been accepted as such.

That no one has ever achieved success without a stumbling block from the beginning. That before any success is attained; one must first be ready to over come failure.

That the result of failure can strengthen one’s will power by providing it with a challenge to greater effort provided i have a definiteness of purpose.

That I should always walk with a notepad in other to jot down vital ideas were necessary.

That with cooperation like love and friendship leads to the growth of the society though one may be dealing with people of diverse views.

That we should be polite, respect flexible, sincere and give chances to our subordinate for a clear participation.

That I should learn how to do more than I am paid for.

That all these should be crown by a word of prayer for success.

4. Quotes: Are there any statements which the author made that particularly got your attention? If so, please quote them and comment as to why they were important to you.

From Andrew Carnegie – “There are types of people who never amount to anything. There are those who never do anything except what they are told to do. And there are those who can not even do what they are told to do. Those who get ahead do the things that should be done without being told and they don’t stop there, they go extra mile and do much more than is expected of this” – This is necessary if you are going to realize your goal. It brings you advancement, attention and opposition.

“Know what you wish to say, say it with all the feeling you command, and then sit down.” It teaches me to communicate effectively. This will help me to know which type of language and the matter of approach to exercise when in a gathering or face with difficulties.

“Success attracts success while failure attracts more failure” if we focus on something we will attaint, if we lack definite purpose than we are accepting attracting more failures to come our way. “ if we open our minds to fear, frustration, lack of definiteness of purpose then we are attract failure to come our way, so the only way we can succeed all these is to make our minds positive. We should learn that nothing great had ever been achieved without a Positive Mental Attitude. We should learn to clear our minds of any influence which does not support a Positive Mental Attitude and also learn to close the door the our mind on all failures from the past

We should not merge ourselves with discussion that will make us think relatively but instead make us engage with people of good ventures whose ideas can influence us positively. This is because we know that every thought we release comes back to us multiplied in its effects. We should not forget prayers.

“one single idea may have greater weight than the labor of all the men, animals and engines for a century” This quote is important to me because if we develop definiteness of purpose couple with faith confidence, portray an attractive personality, developing Positive Mental Attitude, no doubt that one’s idea will yield more fruits and subsequently expand to aid the society whereas if we lack all these positive qualities, our success will not be guaranteed.

Success Through Positive Mental Attitude
Assessment by Ntobo Valentine Ekombo (Cameroon)

1. What is the main idea that the author is trying to convey in the book?

The author is trying to relate how we can achieve success through a positive mind. And to do that we need to bear in mind two things. That there are the positive mental attititude and negative mental attititude. And that before we can go through life successfully, we must employ the positive mental attititude to see us go through life.

Also I equally noticed in this book that we are poor not because of our making but because the way we think. If we think positively and followed by action, we will achieved greatness but if we think the reverse way, then guess what will happen. When this negative happenings occur to us because of our negative thinking, we often attribute it to God which is not the case. So we should learned to think positively in life and build a respectable society where our generation and us will admire.

Here also I have equally come to discover from this interesting book our positive thinking should not only match with actions but first we should set our goals to see a good and lasting life. If we set our goals, stick to it, strive for it then we will then be moving on a right track to success and thus “anything worth having is worth working for. That is why great people which I read from this book such as Walter Clarke, W Clement Stone, Manley Sweazey and Edwin H East all worked hard with Divine Intervention to realize their dreams, so we should copy their examples.

2. What were the seven ideas which were personally most important to you and why? List these seven ideas followed by an explanation after each one as to why it was important to you. Use personal examples from your own life.

That my mind is made of two parameters of extremes, The Positive Mental Attititude and The Negative Mental Attititude. Depending on which way I will want my life to be then I will now choose that which I need which is no one else than the Positive Mental Attititude. This is because we will have an account to give on the last day on our being here on earth. If I chose to be thinking negatively thereby putting myself and others into suffering then I will have myself to be blame. So I will need Divine intervention couple with a strong plan of action to success in life.

Man’s greatest power lies in the power of prayer. With this principle, I have learned that what ever thing we are doing if need to achieve our goals then we must need Divine Intervention first before anything. I will learn to read books too like Henry J Kaiser and S.B Fuller who through his positive mental attitude finally build the liberty ship and overcome poverty respectively. So this is a great lesson from their lives.

That which you share with others will multiply and that which you withhold will diminish. To be generous in life means a lot of multiplications. So if we practice this principle couple with getting things done through the right way then we will be moving on the right footing . I have also learned here that Blessed are the hands that giveth than the ones that tekath. If I practice this, then I will grow rich in life. Also with the attitude of always sharing with friends is very very essential in life and this I will always do.

ACT NOW. This six letter words means the world. This words have come to fuel men up in situations that I have always neglected. I have never known that if I need something and I hear the invisible talismam in me saying Act Now Act Now, Act Now. I have always been scared from this because I use to hear stories that when an invisible thing talk to you without you seeing it, then it is a ghost –devil, so i have been so scared but from now henceforth I have come to realize that with invisible force if it occur to me as it always do, I will always take action in other to move in the right direction. I have also read from this book how many peoples have done this and have succeeded in their endeavors.

Greatness comes to those who develop a burning desire to achieve high goals. Before I desire for something I need to set my goals that is definiteness of purpose which will be backed by action. Action, action is the main key in life because we can not set our goals without putting it into action. Setting a goal is just one thing and putting it into action is another thing so if we needs to achieve high goals in life. we should always act now to foster success in life. So I have learned that whether failures or success I should not attribute these vices to any person but to myself. Moving through a positive direction means moving towards success, so this principle is very vital and thus that is my way now.

MOTIVATION. This too I have come to know that it is a moving tool to success. Be it what if am at the top, I will know how to treat my subordinates to make life moving to us all. And this can only be done through using soft language, respect for one’s rights and dignity to see a smoothing atmosphere. With this I will notice that people working under and around me will find life worth living. That is I will treat others as I will want them to treat me. And a bad leader can not qualify these good qualities with his/her workers except well drill for its importance.

One good idea followed by action can change failure into success. Here it will depend on how my mind will response to idea incurred. If I conceived failure match with positive mental attitude will lead me into the right direction. In this I have read how many people changed their lives as they had had failures/, and a single idea change their lives to success. I think this is an example for me to emulate.

3. How will these ideas or lessons help you in a practical way, both in your daily personal life and in helping you to create a better world? If so,how?

From this book, I have come to realize some basic principles in life that I have been neglecting out of ignorant. Like on the motivation I have learned a lot here, that is how to handle people of different character. And that being at the head of an entity, one needs to work cordially with his or her subordinate in other to foster development rather than imposing on people which in effect will make me a bad leader.

Act Now is a leading secrete in transformation. If I get information and does not act then I am wasting that information. That is why from the book I have learned from great people who have transformed their lives after hearing information and putting them into practice., this is a big lesson that in some few years to come there shall be transformation leaders from Africa who shall stand the taste of time, this will be thanks to IIGL. What ever thing I do now will seriously be match by action—Act Now.

To achieve success in life there is always an obstacle from the start. This does not end here, if we push forward to suppress this effect then we will conquer. That is why they are people who are failures today because they do not use their Positive Mental Attitude in carrying out at he right thing which they would have done to achieve lasting goals in life. For example when you go to the Mortuary you see two types of corpse, one is smiling and the other angry. And that which is smiling is doing so because he or she had done what God asked to do in this world and he will have a positive balance sheet to present to God while the angry one is doing so because he had not done anything in this world and he will be seriously be question by God. So I will learned to take things serious in life not to be like the angry corpse on my last day..

Finally I have also learned that if we strike high we will accomplish our goals. I should learned how to give so that I will get more in return. That be very bit of information I need to pass it to others that can best improve their lives.

And to crown it all we should always give thanks to God for every positive step we take for it is not easy to do this as there is a lot of temptation out. Always read Bible and other inspirational books this will fuel our faith in the Lord.

4. Quotes: Are there any statements which the author made that particularly got your attention? If so, please quote them and comment as to why they were important to you.

“What the mind of man can conceive and believe, the mind of man cam achieve with Positive Mental Attitude” This is to tell me that if I set my plan and follow it up rightly I shall always achieve my goals. So I know we are in this world not to suffer but to use the knowledge God has given to us and the abundant opportunities to better up our lives. This can only be done by thinking on the positive mode, setting goals and following it up with action. There is no magic that we will always success once this is done.

“ I am no able to work with my hands Milo C Jones had long be working with his hands, why he knew since he had his two hands that it was possible for to be doing just that forgetting to know that one needs to set goals in life before you can ever succeed . And thank God that when he realized his errors, he had to admit and immediately went into work when he further said he will start working with his mind. So this is a big lesson for me to learned and follow.

Character is the cornerstone of building success. If in my jobsite I use positive language with my colleagues then our society will grow and vice versa.

5. Is there anything in the book that you do not understand or are unclear about, or are there ideas which you disagree with and, if so, why?

Well for me I have not found anything in the book that was not understood. Everything was straight forward.

6. Did the book contain exercises for the reader to complete? If so, did you complete all of the exercises and did you find them helpful.

Yes at the end of each chapter I found some exercise which I completed and there very very reflective and helpful as well.

7. Was there anything you read in the book that you would like to comment on that was not covered in the previous questions? If so, please comment

Character is the cornerstone of building success .Good and respectable character will always push me to success.

Self – motivation will always lead me to higher height and lead to the group of our society if only other peoples rights are respected.

Psycho-Cybernetics 2000
Assessment by Ntobo Valentine (Cameroon)

1. What is the main idea that the author is trying to convey in the book?

The idea here is that the author uses self-image to relate our thoughts which is always accompany by our action. The author Dr. Maxwell Mattz further stresses that the science of cybernetic applies to the human mind. That is to say our self image acts as the key to every success or failure in our life.

The main purpose of this book is to develop a self-image you can live with, one in which you can feel secure, one that you can be proud of to express to others, one that lead to self-confidence and success.

The author went further to let us know that our two minds correlates and interacts with each other. That is the conscious and the subconscious minds. That whatever one side of the mind conceive the other side will interpret to the other side what needs to be done. Whether good or bad the other side will put it into action.. And also that The simple process of CRAFT if followed with care will change our lives for the better.

2. What were the seven ideas which were personally most important to you and why? List these seven ideas followed by an explanation after each one as to why it was important to you. Use personal examples from your own life.

a. That our success or failures depends on us, as per what is recorded in our minds and the character we portray, that is what people say and think about us. That is why Dr. Maxwell stated that we have a picture of who were are or who we are want to be thus we hinder ourselves in doing most things. If we want to achieve success in life it will depend on how we reason and how people judge us.

b. If you don’t know what you want you are guaranteed not to get it. This is because people nowadays don’t have a focus and when they tend to have failure, they attribute it to other people not knowing that it is due to their lack of focus that has taken them this far. Many successful people today are as a result of because they developed definiteness of purpose and they focus strictly on it that is why they are successful today. So if we follow this example we will also be like these rich people and this can only be done if we have positive conception mind.

c. The idea if CRAFT too is a big lesson for me. This science of Mattz Psycho-Cybernetics as I have learned from the book have greatly changed millions of people’s lives and is continuously changing them.. That is if we believe and concentrate of this principle and have 15-20 minutes of our time this principle we will success in life. Everything about this principle is to believe and put it into practice then we will see the magic of Mattz science.

d. They are times that we tend to have our failures not because of our wishes but as our self-image had made us to act. Immediately the invisible man in us push us to act as per a situation, we do it ignorantly and when we finish from this act we now come to may be realize that what we have just done is not good but we have already carryout the act. We now see that this will lead to failures in our lives in many forms.

e. Also I learned that we need to be open to the world. They are some people who do not share their riches with others. That is they hate seeing others progress like them. This is not the type of leaders we need to nurse. Since we need a world that will be free for everyone, we have to be open to others and if we see our fellow brothers and sisters falling into river we need to pull them out, direct them and leads them, not necessary using force to them. This will lead to a free world. We should know well that our self-image will exactly show who we are. If we help people find their direction then we will be successful in life.

f. I have also come to note here that there are some seven negative mechanism which if we replace them with the positive ones our lives will be the best. There are the failure mechanism that can be aborted by recognizing this seven signs: frustration, aggressiveness, insecurity, loneliness, uncertainty, resentment, and emptiness; and replaced with positive values that spells win-win for everyone. Situations are not to be viewed as indication of failure but as it is really, a guide to corrective action: changing the self-image for a desire course as CRAFT should always be taken into consideration.

3. How will these ideas or lessons help you in a practical way, both in your daily personal life and in helping you to create a better world? If so, how?

I have learned from the book on how self-image can direct one for a goal. That is to say I was able to learn how to change habit of failure into habits of success .Also I have learned to always have a positive habit and forget about what people think and say about me. This is because in the society we have people of diverse minds and I may be doing something which is right and may be misunderstood by some who may not be well acquainted with the mode. I know in everything I do I should have confidence in it and affirm to this principle of always succeeding.

Also I have learned that what the mind conceived and send to the body, action is put in place. So if I believe in the destiny of succeeding I will and vice versa.

To know how to interact with people of diverse background too is an important matter. People with low self-esteem can be rightly directed to achieve their goals in life. To do this I must have to know my self-image because what people may think about me can sent me away from the public. So I have a responsible self-image I will make a change in the globe from one person to the next generation in how to set goals, work on them, how to tackle stress and how to achieve there goals. This will create a grate impact in the world.

I equally learned how to set goals using the SMART method (Specific, Measurable, Action-oriented, Realistic, Time-Conscious.) It makes me know that so far I set my goals the right way i will not regret achieving what I am striving for.

4. Quotes: Are there any statements, which the author made that particularly got your attention? If so, please quote them and comment as to why they were important to you. page 99

“You don’t break a habit and form a new one through “iron-jawed willpower”; you do it by creating clear mental images of a desired result and by acting as if it has already been achieved.” This is a good example to make mention of because habits as the book tells me is a byproduct of subconscious mind and repetitious behavior. So what we portray as our habits comes from the mind and make us act the way we always do. If we wants a new habit we must be conscious so as to hid the target.

“It is our self-image that prescribe our limits” If we see our self-image as failures then when will always be as such and vice versa. But if we want to revert our failures then if we see ourselves as failures we need to always aspire for success in life and the success will come.

“CRAFT” This is a principle whereby we tend to keep away negative attributes replacing them with new and prosperous habits The full meaning of CRAFT thus is

C- ancel old , negative data
R –eplace it with new, positive data
A –Affirm your new self-image
F- Focus on an image of success
T – Train yourself in your new attitudes and behavior.

And that if we practice this process for six weeks then we will miracles in our lives. After which we have concentrated ourselves 15-20 minutes each day for meditation.

5. Is there anything in the book that you do not understand or are unclear about, or are there ideas which you disagree with and, if so, why?

The New Dynamics Of Winning
Assessment by Ntobo Valentine E (Cameroon)

1. What is the main idea that the author is trying to convey in the book?

To achieve what we want to be in life, we must think as champions and behave as champions to be champions. This if we follow, we will succeed in our endeavors and become real champions. Take the example of Greg Lemond who had to set his mind and focus for a particular task, with all the motivation, mind set and the target where he was driving to (The Zone), he had to make his dream come true as determine as he was. So if we follow the examples of champions who never quite we will get to our destinations.

2. What are the seven ideas which were personally most important to you and why? List these seven ideas followed by an explanation after each one as to why it was important to you. Use personal examples from your own life.

A. THE VISUALIZATION OF VICTORY
To think of having something is to have it. Seeing is believing and leads to achievement . If we see what we want to achieve, we will get there. If not hard times awaits us. Like winners who never quit from their endeavors we should try to think of what we will be in the next future and set our goals to that effect. By so doing we will get to our destination though we may be tempted on the way but what matters is how committed to a task we are. Many people will view their victory from different points and getting towards the victory is a problem. What we need to do here is to take a firm decision and stand by it and we will not regret, no procrastination.

B. THE DRIVE TO WIN.
In other to become a champion in whatever thing in life, there must be a beginning point and an end. Champions have never started from the middle or from within. So if we really want to become champions in our lives, we need to start with a focus and set our goals to our advantage. It might seem difficult from the beginning but what we need to do here is to create change. Change which I learned many people may be afraid of its entirety needs more endurance to get there. We must not put fear in front to make a change in our life. Life is a risk and until we set our goals the right way we will not get there. So to me the greatest risk to take is the fear of taking action, after this our victory overwhelm and turn into the talk of the town.

To be champions in life we must always think to be committed and stand by our commitments and being what we want will not be a problem..

C. THE ZONE AND HOW TO GET THERE
If our minds are set to the point of achieving our goals then we will get there. Greg despite his state of health focused on what he knew was a big task for him to make his mission a successful one. To get to this Zone is how you put your state of mind, that is mental training. If our state of mind is set, then we will acquire the necessary skills that leads us to be champions. This is because the mind is just more than any thing we can think about. that is more than power, muscle, competition, I mean every thing. Greg Lemond’s victory during the last leg of their tournaments was a big example for us to follow. This was as a result of training, and if we emulate his example we will be the champions we want to see. For people who may think victory is a night mail and decide to ignore training from all points always end up in failure.

D. PAYING THE PRICE
If we commit our self in doing something, we will get despite the type of obstacle that might come our way. If we are aware that the greatest risk is doing nothing then we need to put our self to work in other to have a positive reward for everything we are doing in life. If we have to lead the example of Mary Lou Retton who in many occasions committed herself to practice in order to pay her price. As much as he forgot of any distractions and practiced as much as four hours a day, seven days a week, she paid a price of success. Mary Lou Retten like Greg Lemond did not mind of any environmental influence while striving towards their careers. Illness, distractions were not part of their goals. They focused their minds to a point where they knew it will yield fruits and it did. If I follow this examples I will succeed in all my endeavors. What ever our victories may be we should always attributes to our success to the Lord Almighty for making us accomplish our missions.

E. THE OLYMPIAN WITHIN
Olympic had since been one of the prestigious games the world had ever had. Winning this, you are a world hero. Before this game start there are many people eager to be champions but what matter in this case is how prepare one is. If anyone will want to be a hero then he must win this game. So if we will equally want to be winners we should be committed and focus as this will lead us to what we want to be. Before Greg LeMond and Mary Lou Retton could ever think of winning this race they have committed their selves, have one focal point irrespective of their health. That is way they had to break bounds to be champions though at the beginning many participants were viable to win but the state of preparedness was were the problem now lies. As such I will learn to set my goals and committed to it for a bright future.

F. INTERGRITY
Many people nowadays lost their pride because of the way they behave in society. Great leaders who have proven their worth like Barrack Obama, Nelson Mandela, Mohamed Ghardi, Dalai Lama just to name a few are men of great integrity. They have set a pace for new generation of inspired leaders the world over as per their doctrines. So integrity which is all about honesty, truthfulness is a big lesson to teach for a good future. We need to follow their teaching by examples and we will move from here to where we will want to be. Inspired leaders are seen from their potential in public, how they interact with the outside world. You may be the world’s best or highest leader but if you are not inspired to carry out your task, then you are not worth a good leader.

G. THE QUALITY OF LEADERSHIP
Integrity, honesty, truthfulness, listening are what makes someone to be among the category of quality leaders. If we follow examples of inspired leaders who used this elements as their principle tools we will be letting the world to take a different twist as per the type of leaders the world had ever had. From authentic leaders who cause many changes in their life and those around them helping them create a good career for them. If we appreciate and not necessarily be dictating what ought to be but listening to associates about what they think, then we are moving the right way. We should equally learn to motivate our associates, ask questions before drawing any conclusion, offer opportunities to the deserve. All these will not go unforeseen, though for the mean time it may not be seen as anything. We should always learn to our associates speak and parents should nurse their children at home to grow up to be responsible leaders. By so doing we are going to change the society with inspired and quality leaders, as is often said that, Charity begins at home. If we help others develop their careers as the case of Luciano Pavarotti, and Enrico Caruso’s mother who help their children shape their futures. We should learn to lead by examples not by orders.

3. How will these idea or lessons help you in a practical way both in your daily personal life and in helping you to create a better world?

With the case of visualization, I will need to forecast what the future will look like and start working for it right away. With that I will improve upon my personal life and that of others.

When this is accompanied I will now work for the ways and means to get there. Getting there I know will be a difficult task and take a long time but determination will take me there.

All these with good morals and truthfulness, I will know how to associate and lead people with whom am working. The quality of leadership will go a long way to boast my moral and way of associating with the public and the way I help shape other people’s career. For one or two reasons we know that there is always a price to be paid for whatever we wish to achieve in life. With this in mind we will work hard to get to the zone

4. Are there any quotes from the book, which really got your attention? If so please list and comment on them.

’life’s most important revelation is that it’s the journey that counts, not the destination’

Where we start or what we want to do and the means or the effort we are doing to get what we want done is that which count. The beginning is always difficult as only few champion passed through. If we learn to work hard and focus our minds to what we want our futures to be, then we will strive high for that. So it is the end that justify the means. As if we shape our beginning well our future will be bright.

‘don’t tell your children your peers or your subordinates what to do, show them.

Here, we should learn by examples. We should not tell others what to do but we should always listen to our associates and we always appreciate their endeavors. We should also help in creating a good career for our children and those around us. We should equally oriented our subordinates and not lead by order. We should also learn our children what we know it will benefit them tomorrow and create a generation of inspired and committed citizens.

The master has no mind of her own. She works with the mind of the people’

If we learn to respect other peoples right and hear their own opinion while drawing conclusion from those ideas then we are really working in line with the quality of leadership. Motivation is a key point to make life with all around us.

What happened earlier has absolutely no influence on what happens today unless you choose to let it

If we rely on what happened in the passed and attribute it to the present then we are making a big mistake. We should learn to forget about the passed and focus on the present and the future.

Real Magic
Assessment by Ntobo Valentine (Cameroon)

1. What is the main idea that the author is trying to convey in the book?

Nothing can be impossible with man. Be it heaven or earth, all problems come with solutions and if we used our minds the way it ought to be used then we are driving for change in a positive direction. That is why the author of this book makes it clear that we can work and achieve anything at our pace despite what problem we can be facing. So this book can be said to teach us how we can make possible things that we thought were impossible for one reason or the other or the methods and strain we can used in achieving our goals without limitations.

2. What are the seven ideas which were personally most important to you and why? List these seven ideas followed by an explanation after each one as to why it was important to you. Use personal examples from your own life.

i. No man is an island.

Whether we like it or not, life can not move without any body accompanying you. Despite our state of wealth or living one can make it out from this world without somebody besides him. So we should always try to tried others the way we will like to be treated even in times of malaise. You can be rich today and tomorrow you are no where to be found. What we want in this our world which Christ took several years to come up with a beautiful idea and put besides nice creatures is cordial relationship between all of us, by so doing we will then create a world of peace and tranquility. So our presidents and top ranking officials are there because of all of us and they have to deliver the goals the way it ought to be. So it is often said that you are there because am here.

ii. Your intentions create your reality

What we will want to be is determined by our thoughts or state of mind. If I will wish to be a minister (an inspired leader) tomorrow then what I conceived in my mind will take me there. I carefully believe that most of my inspired colleagues of IIGL are succeeding today because of the right decision which they have made by joining this grate site which is directing us how to move from one step to the other despite then condition we may be facing. So I found this quote very important to me. I have earlier made up my mind to enroll in a private teachers training college after spending five years out of school because of sponsor. But because of the books I read from IIGL, I stop procrastinating and went into business, though seemingly hard we are there.

iii. ENLIGHTENMENT THROUGH OUTCOME

There are situation and stages in life which come and we turn to say bad luck. This is what makes many of us not progressing because we will end up giving up. Many outcomes have cause many people to stand the thirst of time by resisting the temptations. If we learn to act from out past then we will forge ahead. We may be trying to play a ball not knowing how to play it but immediately we see how important that very ball can be to then we will make a change and learn from the out come. On the other hand, we may need somebody to drill us and direct us to a course, immediately we see the positive impact of it then we now turn to learn from the outcome by creating our own opportunities like What our DIRECTOR MICHAEL LIGHTWAVER and TEAM are doing to create a change we need to see in our world. Mr DIRECTOR and TEAM May God give you more powers for more of such programs in the near future.

iv. You have loving relation with others cause you bring love rather than because you seek it from them.

The author makes it clear that we should always learn to love one another despite the circumstances surrounding our being. Many people love our and expect the very love to be given back to them No is not like that. We are not the same. We should not think that the among of love we give we will get it back. The author is talking about what we give is what we receive back, not what we seek. It is like a reciprocal type of thing that we give with this hand and receive with the other hand. Like many of us here in Africa, we get married and do not give all our love to our wives but expect to get more from them which is bad and is like some sort of discrimination. We should learn to know that the amount of love we give out is the same we will receive.

V ENLIGHTENMENT THROUGH PURPOSE

What is a purpose, what you strive for in life. So then if I for example will like to be a pilot tomorrow and not work for it then we can not meet our target. Working for something in life is a key task for many good things to come your way. Like from the previous books read, in other to achieve our objectives we will need to set our goals and work for it in other have a 100% guarantee. There a problem in developing world where many people do not have a trade. For example in our school we take more subjects till the upper section which do not allow us to specialize for a particular field. Specialization should start from a lower section so that by the time we attained a certain level we must have known what we are working for thus increasing chances of getting to know this field in detail.

Vi ENLIGHTENMENT THROUGH SUFFERING

We need to learn from our pass before building a good life, the author says. When we do this we will build a solid foundation and learn to manage our wealth and position well. Most of our leaders today have not passed through suffering and thus messing up their position as the source of their being there is best known to them That is why like inspired leaders we need to take the challenge and prove to the world that we are from an institute which is really doing great. And suffering always come so that we plan well for the future. If we full our arms and sit that, that is all about us we will be putting more pains to ourselves rather than moving forwards for good.

vii. The true miracle worker is the one who lives to serve God and others in any and all things.

For we were created to serve God and be it what we need to keep to this rules. And if we will want to achieve our goals as God loving people then we need to abide by His rules all the time, by so doing we will be succeeding in what ever thing we are doing. Although we can not see God, He works through man. So as human beings we need to obey his instructions and work with our brothers and sisters in showing them that love and consent so that we live long. Anything we need to do in life we should learn to put God first so that we can achieve our goals.

3. How will these ideas or lessons help you in a practical way, both in your daily personal life and in helping you to create a better world? If so how?

i Once we set our goals in life, we can always work to attained them despite what we can see as stumbling bloc. Determination here will become now a key to success. So everything we do has its repercussion. Once we stick to our goals, we will achieve our aims. So the book will help me in this vain.

ii Love, Love Love is what we need to share among our communities for us to live a peaceful life. In our society if we don’t practice love amongst ourselves then nothing good can ever come out of us. As the bible say that we should love one another for a better life and long life. This is just what we need to practiced even amongst those we may not be in good terms with. Way way should we bear grudges with our lovely brothers and sisters. As inspired leaders of the new generation we need to teach and show the world what we are up to for our examples to follow suites.

iii. If we know why we are in this world and what we intend to be, then we will set our goals, stick and achieved our smiling goals in a responsible manner. So here I know each and every individuals have a purpose why he is living and as God created people we will have an account to give if and only if we don’t achieve our goals here on earth. What ever thing we do we should do it with dignity and with the fear of the Lord so that our days on earth be long.

iv I have equally come to understand that there is nothing like limitation. Nothing can limit us from doing one or two things. If we plan well we will get our result. So should not blame some individuals for making us not attained a certain level. The point here is to set concrete goals and we will not regret them.

4. Are there any statements, which the author made that particularly got your attention? If so, please quote them and comment as to why they were important to you.

i. Seek to enjoy each other not posses each other

Community Youth For Peace Foundation Cameroon which is one of the youth led association where I work strongly hold the dignity and rights of all and advocates peace while denounced oppression. That is way this point got my attention. We should always try to make friends to our mates and those around us because this relationships are often very lasting. We as inspired leaders should not act as dictator who are hand picked. If we learn to create a sustainable relationship with our brothers and sisters then will always not regrets our lives. We should equally not scare our subordinates or oppressed the underprivileged because they don’t have. What we need to do is just to nurse them the right way so that we make a free world void of discrimination. To oppressed are the passed.

ii One simply must know they are much more to life than achievement, performance and acquisitions and that the measure of life is not in what you accumulate but rather in what is given to others.

Blessed are the hands that giveth than those that take it. If we will like to live a sound life out of greed and discrimination then we should be ready to give to the needed and not only to our children. What a free world I will like to see if all the bad things are put away. Many innocent people suffer today not because they want but situation have cause them to, why should I accumulate millions of dollars and see people suffering when I have the means to help and I don’t. My country Cameroon is one of such countries where we have this type of leaders who are self-centered and greedy. Can you imagine a minister who is appointed to care for the people embezzles closed to 30.billion francs CFA, some with milliard recruitment into public service is based on “man know man” while the masses are down there suffering without even sure of three square meals a day. This money only ends up with his family. Why are we so ungrateful that we want others to die where will not gain anything. This is a bitter lesson we are learning here in Cameroon. My youth Led association condemn all this social ills and we are determined to break the bounds and make the man on the street also have a small share of the national cake. I hope God will bless us.

iii Behave in ways consistent with love and harmony, and do not be attached in any way to the fruit of our success.

If we are out to lead, we should put in our maximum effort for the better of the public. We should be self-centered. If we learn to should our love to the world then we are inviting more blessings to our lives. If we share love, peace then we are on the verge of growing in God’s spirit.

5. Is there anything in the book that you do not understand or are unclear about, or are there ideas which you disagree with and, if so, why?

No, all what I read match what we see and hear on daily basis.

6 .Did the book contain exercises for the reader to complete? If so, did you complete all of the exercises and did you find them useful?

Yes. What I saw as assignments were all dealt with and most of these directly relates to our societal life of today. Many people will not like to share their love with others. Love which is not bought and sold but we are trying to complicate life by making things difficult on the other parties. Why, why all these, we are not send to the world for all this evils.

7. Was there anything you read in the book that you would like to comment on that was not covered in the previous questions?

The most talk about love peace and harmony are the ingredients I got from most of the chapters, then what we may think as limitation to ourselves. What we thing is impossible or that disturbs us from breaking bounds. They is nothing like limitations to our achievements. If we set right goals then we will get the best out of it. As any problem is entitled to a solution so can things be impossible for us to turn around.

Giant Steps
Assessment by Ntobo Valentine (Cameroon)

1. What is the main idea that the author is trying to convey in the book?

The author is trying to draw our attention to the fact that from small things it can grow to big and mighty ones. Experiences have shown that changes to human life takes a gradual process and if maintained leads to great and big changes in life. That is why the author through the various chapters makes us to now that changes needs to take a gradual process. Each chapter of the book remains us of what change needs to be effected. If we dream high we will big changes will come our way as the book starts with the first chapter the dreams of destiny to the ‘Ultimate Gift in one’s achievement of success in life. The author has equally made us to know that if purpose is known then result is unbeatable.

2. What are the seven ideas which were personally most important to you and why? List these seven ideas followed by an explanation after each one as to why it was important to you. Use personal examples from your own life.

i) Improving My Serve

My dreams here is to see a country where youths of diverse background are given the say to take decisions that will influence their lives. This is what had been neglecting in our today’s society. So if we stand up and speak out the ills of bottle neck in our society and create an enable environment where youths have a say then we are molding up a well respectable society. I am ready and will take this as a challenge to pressure for this change through Community youth for Peace Foundation which as one of its aim is to see that youths are given a say in our society This is done through lobbying and advocacy. The inception of this association came up as a result of February 2008 upraising that saw hundreds of youths massacred as they took to the street to air out their grievances. As such the government retaliated by brutalizing the youths. So this association came out to act as a middle man between the government on the one hand and the youths

ii) Celebration of life. Life is made up of ups and downs. As we are born on earth and jubilation follow suite, that is how one day the sudden cool hands of death will take us and they will be mourning. But the question now is what have we achieved on earth as of when we have been put to birth. Each and everyone on earth have a mission to accomplish and when this is done, it calls for jubilation and feasting and if we don’t achieve our aims on earth then imagine what will happen when we are call up to give an account of our stay of being on earth.

iii) The fact that each of us as a human is endowed with inborn resources that enable us to achieve all we have ever dreamed of and more. These point is important because it is true that we all are born and gifted with some resources which enable us to achieve what ever we want in life but the point now is are we able to exploit this innate resources and how or through which means. This are some of the questions we will need to ask ourselves before achievement follow suite. When all this is know we can now table our scale of preference and arranged them on how we will want them to be achieved which must be followed by prayers and Divine intervention.

iv). How to Get what you really want. Decision making and action taking are some of the principal form of moving towards what we need in life. Life is not all about taking decisions. You can take a thousands and one decision but the moment you failed to follow the decision up then we are failing in our endeavors. Come to think of what the author of this book draws our attention to. If we know what is preventing us from taking decisions or actions then our goals are a step achieved but if not we see where we put ourselves. Like in some of the books read, most of us know what we need, set our goals, and to get all these is the multi dollar question we need to ask ourselves. If decision is not followed by actions then our goals will not be achieved as we will continuously be on one position.

v). The question we ask. Questions are a very good instrument of understanding things in life. In so far as we can never anything without asking questions, There are some people who think they everything about know life and feels that asking questions can diminished their personality. So in life we have two category peoples, one that ask questions to know and one that do not. Answers to some questions ask are very inspiring and others if not carefully reasoned might lead you to danger. This has equally reminded me of the type of questions we ask to have a positive result and the type of people we ask questions to them. The Author has equally draw our attention that successful people in life are those who have ask meaningful questions and in return got the desired answer out of it. So if we learn to put this in practice then we will live a better life and inspire others as well.

vi). There is equally a formula that has been brought to lame light by the book which was not well known by many of us. Such as Precise and Actions and others. When we are precise in our deeds and followed our words with action then we will meet our goals in life. As it is often read that actions speaks louder than words, if try to match this with our lives then all will be fine for us all. Actions in this light we mean good actions not actions that will create a negative impact in out lives. So the author’s example of these two words be followed to build up a good career in life.

vii). The Value Ranking, is very important to me because it gives me more insight and make me do some brainstorming and assessing my emotions and work the hardest to avoid having to feel them. In life when we know what we need then they is no doubt that we will always succeed. Knowing what you need is one thing and going for it is another. If our actions match our words the road to success is clear and ok Also the author makes mention of the fact that time is a very important factor in life and when it passes away is not easy to come by. So if we do anything in life we should always respect time because is the key to everything.

2. How will these ideas or lessons help you in a practical way, both in your daily personal life and in helping you to create a better world? If so how?

There are great lessons learned from this book the giant step, as each and every chapter explains some of the peculiarities of life and the author explains it well with examples. By following the author’s example if I commit myself and make sure each and every bit of advice read are followed with action, then I will be making a giant step into life. The first thing worth noting is that when my goals have been set and are followed accordingly then success is mine. By also inspiring others is a great venture in life. They are people who needs somebody to direct them and when they don’t see this happening they turn to act contrary to life. The way I think now will not be the same as formal. This is because the book( The Giant Step) has greatly change the way I used to think.

3. Are there any statements, which the author made that particularly got your attention? If so, please quote them and comment as to why they were important to you.

i. The question of one’s identity posed by Anthony Robbins in chapter 10 on the keys to an expanded life got me thinking. Who are, getting to knowing someone is very important. Who are you. Do you know yourself. One’s identity is very very important as is the key to success. How can you be differentiated from others around your environment, country or the world. Do you have qualities that can be differentiated from others. Who are you. Very pertinent a question by Mr. Anthony Robbins, which needs to be reflected upon. If all persons changed positively then the world will be free from global terrorism, hunger, diseases and climate change.

ii Another idea read from this book is to be a role model in life. From this book if I change my reasoning faculty and strive for a better way of life, people will always follow my example and this will go a long way in changing the society’s way of thinking. The way we behave in society will portray the type of person we are. Positive and critical thinkers are always a role model. If their examples are followed then the world will go a long way to be. Changed Foe example the author Mr. Anthony Robbins draws our attention to the next generation as he equally wrote for the too in this book So if we are critical in our thinking then we will go a long mile to achieved our goals. We should not only limit ourselves on the present situation, we should always learned to make allegiance to the future generation. As per the of the author as he wrote to the next generation of 2088. This is very important for us to immolate.

iii. One leader is a strong mind and immense soul To be able to help the other to change, you have to be able to change first yourself. Instant change is more effective! The shock is like magic! The magic -it`s just a good strategy! The art of life is very easy – no need to use willpower. The seed of change is always inside you! If we make ourselves to change others then we will need to have basic qualities of a leader. Once this is ok then we can now change others and remember that others will only change depending on the type of person we are. This is because no body will be willing to listen to anybody who is a radical and a criminal. As you make your bed so shall you lay on it. So the better we change and move ourselves towards positive thinking the better for us. We know very well that People are different by soul and body and the very person you might be seeing physically may not be the one you see in action.

4. Is there anything in the book that you do not understand or are unclear about, or are there ideas which you disagree with and, if so, why?

None. All the points raised and read from the book were understood. The book was quite interesting as I see most of the lessons as a practical guide to life and knowing how to interact with people. Know the type of questions to ask, where and when.

5. Did the book contain exercises for the reader to complete? If so did you complete all the exercises and did you find them helpful?

Yes. All what I noticed as exercises were dealt with accordingly as the book well understood

6 . Was there anything you read in the book that you would like to comment on that was not covered in the previous questions?

No.

How to Win Friends & Influence People
Assessment by Ntobo Valentine (Cameroon)

1. What is the main idea the author is trying to convey in the book?

The author is trying to let us know here that humans were are blessed with potentials skills which we don’t fully exploit them. The unseen potentials are still not exploited and if we discover and develop them then we will fully know to how get about meeting and creating friends. So the unseen should be fully used so as to influence those around us. The author presents useful information here that are most needed by today’s youth. Though we hardly get people talking about the book but if we as those who have read the book can promote the ideas found here then we should be doing a great job as the various techniques found in the book can shape our future and that of others

2. What were the seven ideas which were personally most important to you and why? List these seven ideas followed by an explanation after each one as to why it was important to you. Use examples from your own life.

After going through this precious and recommendable book, many points stroke my imagination as per the questions above which I will lay them down as follows;

i). Ninety nine times out of a hundred people don’t criticize themselves for anything, no matter how wrong it may be, Lets realize that the person we are going to correct and condemn will probably justify himself or herself and condemn us in return,

Change as the word implies is not a one day process. It takes time before this word is effected. We should not always prove difficult to unravel, need to welcome positive issues as perfection is the preserve of God. Before it is day break and one goes out to prospect and think of making word to the public, let he/she think twice because it will not be easy. He/she will encounter difficulties to remove old habit as criticism will be the other of the day. We should always be ready to receive what ever thing we have in return as the end point is always red on the negotiator. If we learned how to use the right approach dealing with this group of people who think they can not be corrected the right way then their minds too will equally follow. As human being we have our shortcoming and are susceptible to mistakes and until someone corrects us we will never know if we were going wrong or not.

ii) ). People are not interested in you, they are not interested in me, they are interested in themselves

First and foremost, I will like to draw our attention here that we can not preach love when we don’t love ourselves or we can not. Here we are made to know that situation and behaviors matters in what ever thing we do in life. What ever thing one does matters as it will either attract or repel people. Many people will like to be self-centered to a point that they are convinced that what one is doing is right before they can ever thing of joining the group. If not they will remain as such and may be they were moving on the opposite direction, living them to follow this trend is a psychological and emotional crime. What ever thing we do counts a lot as we should not allow people to be interested in themselves but with the growing problem problems which needs solution.

iii) Thought is supreme.

As inspired leaders we don’t need to relent our efforts. The author clearly states it, our minds should always reflect and think ahead. We should always try to predict the future, this will help us think positive things, knowing that the way we behave and do our things will clearly should how fast one reasons. From the mind all other activities are generated, so our mind is the focal pint to all what we do and need in life. If we want to achieve positive result, the way we reason will give us what we need and vice versa

iv) Make the other person feel important, and do it sincerely

We should always learn to treat others as human being. Not because we have our reaches or because we have got a job and will make others feel inferior, this is not a good attitude of inspired leaders like us. If we make our present felt them our mission of IIGL will be accomplished. Priority should be given to the people we see as depress. We should treat them the way we treat our own selves or children. As a leader let some one not come to seek for advice and you instead mislead the person. This will cause you very much as you have wrong mankind/nature and God almighty will not forgive you as this person’s life from all indication will be frustrated. What ever thing we do in life sincerity should always be our first goal.

v) Be a good listener. Encourage others to talk about themselves

A good leader must always know the conditions of the people his or she is dealing with. The way they view themselves will equally determine what one makes out of them. Most often people have problems and may not know the right channel to follow and as some one who is out to inspire the public, we should always try to help our brothers/sisters out from difficulties. This will make us boast of ourselves tomorrow as their success will be attributed to us. As we get to listen to what our people talk to us and the type of advice we give to them go a long way to change their lives. A listener is a good leader.

vi) Talk about your own mistakes before criticizing the other person

Many people in our society will first like to read one from his behavior. The image one portray will determine what others think about you. As human being we know well that we can not be aiming at always being right through out our life. All of us have shortcoming, so before one goes out to talk to people we should always take our life to be an example for what we want to put forth. This will go a long way to change our course and make our journey successful. Many people will like to hear from where you went wrong and they various ways you tried to get out from that situation. To talk about others in a negative manner, we should always judge ourselves first and then proceed

vii). You can go for the job you want – and get it, you can take the job you have and improve it, you can take any situation you’re in and make it work for you

The writer further examine the fact that what ever we need we can have it provided we know hoe to manage it. Going for what we need is one thing and knowing how to manage it so that the reward can enable others to come and improve their standard is another. What we are trying to do here is to oriented and positively direct those that we see are moving towards the opposite direction to join us as inspired leaders. What ever the situation may be, since we striving for a better world and to eradicate some social ills, direct the willing group how to positively interact and behaved in society, we should always strive for perfection as previous books like Jonathan Livingston Seagull have made us to understand.

3. How will these ideas or lessons help you in a practical way, both in your daily personal life and in helping you to create a better world? If so, how?

From the book our mission is to transform and inspire people or the society What I believe here is that I can not transform society when I have not yet transformed myself. How do we go about doing this great job, how do we rate our results. To begin with, what I know is that we need to inspire people to think positively as we do, this is not a small task as carrying out inspiration works. First we have to be self inspired before going out to don that elsewhere. The author has state the various ways of inspiration which we need to follow to transform lives. If we decides that each and every day we will carryout this task of transforming only a soul per day then our decision should match our actions and we will succeed in our endeavors. So this lesson is a very important to follow and help others who are in darkness. Great philosophers have lived to inspire us even today their words still reign so if we follow this channel we will lived to inspire the next generations to come through our own words. Also all ideas got from this book will greatly help me build my relationship with the public, those I come across on daily bases, my relationship with them will increase.

4. Quotes: Are there any statements which the author made that particularly got your attention? If so, please quote them and comment as to why they were important to you.

Many quotes were made after this book was read. There were equally interesting and inspiring. There are most applicable to daily life of today, The following below are some of the ones which personally got my attention;

i). “Hatred is never ended by hatred but by love.” – Buddha

Anything we want to do we should always put good faith first before anything. Hatred, jealousy and greed are some of the ills that rein our society of today. We can not talk about Love when we don’t live with it. Love should not only be preached, it should be practiced and done. The Holy Bible further tell us that whatever we do, we should do it with the fear of the LORD. If we want to succeed in life let us first be successful in what ever our mission is and all will be well with us. If our mission is to change people we should first make sure we examine ourselves and know that we have change from our previous deeds(may be bad) to good, because this is how the society will look at it. The way you portray yourself in the community will determine the person you are, that will in tell determine the change you will like to create in society. Judging from the above quotation, the ideas got from IIGL and the highly inspirational books will now go into manifestation. Here, true leaders will put their skills into practice. From the end of it all the public which we are out to change will judge one’s attitudes and when talking to a person he/she will know which step to follow. If hatred was backed by hatred in any case visible to the public then we will equally know our outcome. So we should always try to wear a positive image with what ever thing we do.

ii). Nobody likes taking orders, or dictatorship, so convince people to your way of thinking without using orders, so that whatever they will do will be perfect and with free will but not because you said.

Most of our hand picked leaders today don’t care about the type of instructions they give. Wither it will change the community in a positive or negative manner. The only thing they do is just to sit up there and pass the so call decree. They don’t care to take advice from their subordinates as they think they know everything. This is not what 21 century inspired leaders of IIGL should practice. We should try to convince people to our way of thinking as inspired leaders of which I will like to put as transformation leaders. We should always try to feel for others. To teach or directs one to a particular think to follow, it matters the tone one gives the advice or orders. Harsh orders are often resisted because of their nature, as leaders, who are oriented and inspired we should always take or give orders that will not cause conflict with those we govern, because if they are not there, we can not perform our duties because we will not be influencing any group of people. So are way of approach should matter as we should put in mind the interest of others.

iii) You cannot teach a man anything; you can only help him to find it within himself” Galileo

To help one to find what is within him is a big asset. I will like to pinpoint here that most people have talent but don’t know how to go about it or how to exploit this gifts. In the book of Corinthian, we are made to know about the spiritual gifts each and every one of us are endowed with. To fully apply this gifts we need to associate ourselves with those we view as successful in society to direct us. By so doing we are directing and helping people to tape the unseen asset they have and don’t know to go about it. This will should the love we have for others, as the we see in the Holy Bible where Apostle Paul plants the seed of the church, Apollo waters and God made it grow. We should practice this example of Christ Almighty and we will be free from all that drag us behind not to progress.

5. Is there anything in the book that you do not understand or are unclear about, or are there ideas which you disagree with and, if so, why?

Well I did not find anything in the book that I did not understand or disagree with as well, all what I read will be use to transform my life and those of others since transformation is our main target. We will only know from what we are getting from IIGL as knowledge from our output. Not only bringing people to the group but those who are able to continue the battle.

6. Did the book contain exercises for the reader to complete? If so, did you complete all of the exercises and did you find them helpful?

I personally see the book as very important to me because all what I went through is applicable to daily life. What I need to do now is just to put them into practice and the results will be enormous. However I did not find any exercise to be completed. What I have discovered from previous books I read is that there are on a particular trend. One book read have a very big impact in one’s life and the more this books are read the more I get inspired.

7. Was there anything you read in the book that you would like to comment on that was not covered in the previous questions? If so, please comment.

Yes. The information trend presented by the author needs to be promoted, all what we are fighting for is transformation and inspiring lives. The author should be given credit for the wonderful work of inspiration he had put forth. We as transformation leaders need to champion the course even to higher heights. Because if we relent the information presented by Dale Carnegie then our next generation will not have it. Also the techniques involved in getting to know how to attract people to your side is a very big asset to me in particular as I will know how to associate with the outside world.

Leadership for Dummies
Assessment by Ntobo Valentine (Cameroon)

1. What is the main idea that the author is trying to convey in the book?

The main idea I found in this book is the leadership skills a good leader needs to follow. Its like a handbook for inspired leaders or like a Holy Bible for inspired men of God. Its responsibility and accountability points discuss in the book. As an inspired leader, anything one do needs to be accounted for and the responsibilities one take while commissioned into office or any task assigned to, is a big mark to show that we are transparent and ready to lead our subjects, so we should learn how to use this book in our day to day life.

The three leadership skills or abilities enumerated in the book is of primordial importance to me as well. This are Listening well, Eliciting the cooperation of others, Placing the needs of other people above mine. Listening as earlier read from previous books are a key ability to leadership. This helps one to get or gather as much information as possible from left and right and use this information where and when necessary. As a leader we should always listen to our subjects or those we are under so that our role too will be safe, and a tense atmosphere will not exist between the leaders and the subjects.

Secondly, the gift of eliciting the cooperation of others to draw a good idea that everyone buys is a big problem. To get people to buy your idea, we will always need to review ourselves, how we behave in society, our day to day interaction and the promises we made, whether we for fill them or not. This points will attract or repel people from you depending on how we associate in public. So as a leader, we should always try to portray a positive image of our selves so that those we work with should not have doubt in us and our ideas will always be welcomed.

Lastly, placing the needs of others above mine is a big taste of time. Many people will hardly put this into practice because they don’t want to loose anything. So as inspired men we should always consider our own needs last after all around us have been satisfied. If this is done we will hardly fine problems with ourselves.

I also find the empathy love company importance to me. If we learnt to always have pity for others then we are human enough. Many leaders or those at the top position don’t even care about those down whether they are dying or doing what so ever they don’t care. So what am saying here is that we should learnt to have feelings for others

There are many other points which I found most importance in the book too like the stages of leadership like, Transient nature of leadership/Situational leadership, Transitional leadership and Hierarchical leadership.

In short this book is endowed with huge and rich stuff which we will need to use them to facilitate our day to day activities.

2. What were the seven ideas which were personally most important to you and why? List these seven ideas followed by an explanation after each one as to why it was important to you. Use personal examples from your own life.

i. Setting Reasonable Goals- forget the impossible dreams

As inspired leaders, our first priorities is for agenda, that is to have a clear, precise and concise goals. That is our goals be set the way that we will achieved them. Not too high and not too low. If we set them too high and don’t reach them then we are a failure and if we set them too low and don’t still reached them we are a hero. So in order to avoid discrepancy, we should set our goals in a way that we will achieved and avoid knocking our heads with our subjects.

ii. Diplomacy. This is the place where we have to demonstrate our leadership qualities. Either that of listening, putting other needs first and planning to meet up that target is a course for concern. So here I have learned that I will demonstrate the good qualities of leadership to get people to a point that they will live to enjoy me being their head or leader.

iii. Leadership. From this course all what we dwelled on is about how to be effective in our leadership skills and abilities. As inspired leaders we need to always consult our greet books written by inspired writers who have experienced this process who with others. When this happen we will also success as we maintained the ideas in the book. Leadership is a broad topic on its own and there is no society which does not have a leader. The problem here is, does the leaders operate accounting to standard, do they put the needs of their subjects first, do they give an account of their term in office and do they assume their responsibility as devoted leaders. This is a thousand dollar questions which we need to store behind our scour to let it blinking. In fact this topic as broad as it is has taught me a big lesson to reckon with.

iv. Responsibility and accountability. This points are particular because as a leader we need to give our balance sheet. If we accept to lead, we should also accept or ready to give an account of any small thing we pass across while officiating. In today’s society, I find many leaders not succeeding because of the means or way they got to where there are. So when it comes to this point it becomes a problem to them give a clear balance sheet taking into consideration the neglect they had with their subjects. So this point is an exemplary to me because as an inspired leader, if am taking up any task, I will be reader to give an account of my staying in office.

v. Transient nature of leadership.

This point is very important to me because it demonstrate the various types of leadership like, Situational leadership, Transitional leadership and the Hierarchical leadership, with each explaining the importance attached to it as earlier elaborated above. If we follow up this qualities strictly then we will succeed

vi. Creating a cohesive team.

If as leaders we want to succeed in life we need to create a dynamic team which we will work with. When this is done we should always see into it that they are encouraged and motivated. When this is done our followers will always be there for us. Where we work if we create an enable environment then our subjects will pay more attributes to you.

vii. Volunteering

From the book I came across this word which is one of the ingredients in every day’s life. Many people do volunteer in one way or the other. Volunteering is not a new thing to me because I always do it. Whether you do it knowingly or unknowingly. This can be done in helping some one who may require a help, by so doing you are volunteering to get he/she out of where she/he may be that requires help.

viii. Place the Needs Of Others Above Your Own Needs

3. How will these ideas or lessons help you in a practical way, both in your daily personal life and in helping you to create a better world? If so, how?

The ideas read from this book has greatly help me come out from darkness and slumber. The leadership qualities discussed will greatly upgrade my career as I have leaned many things here. How to response to my colleagues, that is listening skills, planning and putting others needs first are all good potentials to reckon with. So from the rich ideas found in the book will know how to manage the society we I lived in. The various skills elaborated in this book needs to be used with those around us to create the change we want to see in the world.

Also there are many ideas found in the book that has greatly shape my life from Goal setting, Values, relationship and beliefs. If all these are followed up closely then am moving towards success. Each point explains in-depth the various ways to associate with the community. If am conscious of my act and other things then I will not fail as a leader. Single decision making is very risky since others needs may at times be neglected. The book is a very big foot for taught.

4. Quotes: Are there brief quotes from the book which really got your attention? If so, please list and comment on them.

i “Hang your goals on the wall” – page 131. Most of us will develop our goals and hid them under our pillows and go a long way to forget about them, but this quote draws my attention to the fact that if my goals after conceived are kept in a place that will be seen regular, this will help a lot to keep me alert. The best place to do this is to always hang them on the wall

ii. ”Hearing is not listening, and people listen and remember selectively. So learn to document everything.”

This point is like particular with me because at times I hear and when not documented leads to forgetfulness. The best archives that can last for generations to generation is by documentation. If we follow this principle we will see magic. I will like to encourage my other mates of IIGL to take this serious

iii. “Take care in how you set your goals. If you set them too high and don’t reach them, you will be seen as a failure. If you set them lower and then exceed your goals, people will look at you as a hero” – page 141.

This simply draw my attention to the fact that, as a leader I don’t need to set my goals too high and too low. Setting them too high and not achieving them will not mean anything than failure and setting them too low and not attaining them will still mean failure. So we need to take a careful decision on setting our goals.

Iv “Your ability to lead depends on the willingness of others to follow, or at least to cooperate with you

For any society to move forward there must be a leader and a follower. Being a leader is not enough. All of us know very well that as leaders we equally have followers and we should not take the confidence given to us as leaders by our followers to use cruel methods to rule them with. We should always create an atmosphere free from tension and work in a conducive environment, by so doing our followers will always be by us.

vi. “Giving your group a very strong vision is always important so that they have a constant sense of mission and expanding sense of possibility”

5. Is there anything in the book that you do not understand or are unclear about, or are there ideas which you disagree with and, if so, why?

No. I believe that the rich ideas contained in the book if closely followed according to leadership norms it will yield maximum fruits as our capacity will be build. So I totally agree with the ideas contain here.

6. Did the book contain exercises for the reader to complete? If so, did you complete all of the exercises and did you find them helpful?

YES. The useful exercises contain in the book were fully covered.

7. Was there anything you read in the book that you would like to comment on that was not covered in the previous questions? If so, please comment.

Non-Violent Communication
Assessment by Ntobo Valentine E (Cameroon)

1. What is the main idea that the author is trying to convey in the book?

The author of the this book is trying to draw our attention on the necessary ways and means in which we should interact with each other in daily life. Since communication is the best tool to identify or express ones demand between one another. We need to express what we want in a communicable manner so that one should understand each other. In short Non Violent Communication is a book which draws our attention to the fact that mankind can change from the present state to a good and conducive life. That is through effective communication within to man to man, our mentality can be changed and the dangers we are living today be solved like Hunger, AIDS, Wars.

2. What are the seven ideas which were personally most important to you and why? List these seven ideas followed by an explanation after each one as to why it was important to you. Use personal examples from your own life

I. The more faithfully you listen to the voice within you, the better you will hear what is happening outside.

This is true in everyday life. There are times when I seat in front of the door steps, hear voice telling me to do this or that. All this are external voices telling me to do this or that. So in true life this internal [natural] communication do happen, not only to one person but to all human beings. God at times speaks to one through this form of communication. This book, Non violent communication have equally come to highlight some of the important aspect of this communication for better understanding.

II. That we are responsible for our feelings.

Non-Violent Communication is a book that has made me to be proud of myself. This is because I used to speak rudely to people and not feel the impact it can cause to peoples lives. For me I used to take things just normal but with the rich ideas found in this book, the methods used to elaborate them, I found myself to be proud since things will never be the same again. Also our feelings result from how we chose to receive what others say and do, as well as our particular needs and expectations in that moment and reactions will rely qualify us.

Feeling is something that needs a careful analysis because in most cases people are always misled by other peoples attitudes. For example somebody might say something to you which is not good and go further to say if you care go and hang. These are not good and respectable words, so I need to change and to balance things up I need to sense others feeling too.

III. If readers have a sincere desire to make life miserable for themselves, they might learn to compare themselves to other people

This is true. I have come to realize that reading and understanding are two different things on earth. At times I read and when ask a question from what I have just read am unable to answer. But they are people who can just glance over a book and the next moment, days or month if a question is ask from what was read they will answer perfectly well. When this happen with me if in a convoy of friends and they turn to challenge me I feel bad and in fact developed hatred for myself and even go further to question God why it should happen to me like that. From NVC, I have learned to go about reasoning and knowing how to interact with other persons and not creating hatred for myself.

IV. The use of Positive Action language As the Author Puts it was of particular importance to me.

Many at times I always use unfriendly languages to get something from my friends and relatives. When my request is turned down I developed a negative impression towards them, not knowing the manner of approach I used was not good. I don’t always find myself at fault as I think but after reading this book, I have learned how to go about my relationship with the community.

V. I have also come to understand that i need to make requests not demand.

From my own point of view demands are made by dictators or those who are radicals in their ways of live and philosophy. I have also come to discover from NVC that I need to identify other peoples needs and respect their integrity so that what I am preaching can be heard. Even if I am a big man in the office that is a manager or controller I need to respect other people’s right so that effective communication can flourish.

VI. Observing without evaluating

I am very critical on this point because I am very fast in evaluation and drawing conclusions. Whether good or bad conclusion I don’t even realized the harm it can cause to the next party. As a correcting point the book NVC has really make me to differentiate and know the time when such conclusion needs to be drawn.

VII. If you are going to be a leader, you must have effective personal communication skills

What I have realized in our society is that most of our leaders are leaders but do not have effective communication skills. This is a big problem because as a leader if posed with a problem one need to know the type of skill to apply and if the skill is not there what do you expect. So as leaders we need to have communication skills to handle problems in our areas of competent. As a leader when need to put the needs of our subjects higher than ours so that our authority should not be abused. A case in point is, am presently working with a private security company as a supervisor, in fact the way I interact with my subordinate is just like NVC book was read and understood before, there is total collaboration and respect for each other, conducive atmosphere reigns here. From this book I will learn other skills in order to enrich myself and create a big change in my company.

3. How will these idea or lessons help you in a practical way both in your daily personal life and in helping you to create a better world?

With this book now in my palms and the rich content found in it, it will greatly help me since it will act as a dictionary for me to be using. All the polite and good qualities of this book will greatly help me improve on my communication languages. I will equally go a long way to create change by teaching and getting other people come to me as this book will be highly used. I have also learned that since we are rational being, there are some words that I used which may hurt people around me, I know now how to use right words at the right place and at the right time.

4. Are there any quotes from the book, which really got your attention? If so please list and comment on them.

“We are dangerous when we are not conscious of our responsibility for how we behave, think, and feel.”

If we are not conscious we are dangerous. This is true because we might be doing things in life unconsciously but may know we are doing it consciously. We need to learned how to communicate towards each other because they are times, which we may conversing certain discussion which are not supposed to be discussed there, by so doing we are causing more harm to ourselves. From this quote I have learned that if I carry out my responsibility gentlemanly and using right discussions where appropriate then I will be free from being a risk factor. As such we must be responsible in our behaviors and way of life.

¨The more faithfully you listen to the voice within you, the better you will hear what is happening outside¨

There are times that I hear a strange voice within saying Valentine go to the right or to the lift that is directing me the way to take or telling me what to do. This as I can put it is natural, that is talking within yourself. Most often we need to act on the right direction as not all what you listen to the voice within tells you to do is correct. I am faced with a situation where am in the middle of a route pending a ift, out of a sudden I hear a voice within me run and cross the route, If I am not strong and firm and I decide to cross the road when its not yet time to cross I may be knock down by a vehicle. So we should always try to reflect on the impact of hearing a voice within us and acting immediately.

“The message we send out is not always the message that is received.”

Many people often chat with people and use funny types of communication languages which do not reflect the goals of IIGL, by so doing they are often regarded as unfit in the society by most inspired and train leaders As some one from IIGL who has pass across many revolutionary books we need to help and direct those whom I can turn living in darkness and remove them from the scourge of misdeeds. Many people are out who need deliverance and we need to fight towards this purpose. And the message we send out should be carefully selected because wrong messages are hardly forgotten by the society.

Unlimited Power
Assessment by Ntobo Valentine (Cameroon)

1. What is the main idea the author is trying to convey in the book?

The author of the book unlimited powers tries to draw our attention to the fact that what ever think we do in life should try to focus and base ourselves of activities that leads to personal empowerment. That is why the brain as he puts it needs to be empowered to yield successful results. When the brain is provided with effective signal for empowerment, the impossible becomes the possible. That is why the author says the end of life is not knowledge but action since action is what unites every great success.

2. What are the seven ideas which were personally most important to you and why? List these seven ideas followed by an explanation after each one as to why it was important to you. Use personal examples from your own life.

i. That there is no such thing as resistance, there are only inflexible communicators who push at the wrong time and in the wrong direction.

Communication needs to be effective for instructions to be executed. If communication follows the right channel then I will not have problem with people whom supervise. This is the more reason why the author Dr. Anthony Robbins states that we need to follow right channel of information so that our empowerment process can be effective. If my mind is specialized in the way that it will lead to empowerment then I will be creating a great and just world.

ii. Today, one of the largest sources of power is derived from specialized knowledge

This is important to me because as a human being I know and believe very well that I have unlimited resources that is not yet exploited. This book unlimited powers has come at the right time that will fully guide and direct me on how to manage and exploits the unexploited leading to sound success in life. In our today’s world I lived to know that things change every second, minute, hour, day, week, month and year. So if effective communication is maintained then the recent happening and changes will be followed up.

iii. That my environment plays a role in shaping my values and beliefs.

Most of the time I find it difficult to come out with a reasonable idea in public because the people whom I interact with them are either reasoning them to their own direction or are not willing to contribute to ideas that can change one’s life. In the company of this set of people I can’t take any favorable discussion that can benefit the community. But from here henceforth, I have come to realize that if I distant myself from this type of group and concentrated on my inspirational point then I will live to change the world. And so the environment in which I live can either positively or negatively influence me depending on which side I want to take.

iv. Have a target because you can’t hit one if you don’t have one.

This actually true by me because from the previously read books like Jonathan Seagull, Positive mental attitude and As a Man Thinketh are all books that draws my attention to the fact that what ever thing I want or need to do I must have a target which must starts from somewhere and when it is achieved then my I will have arrived. So if I plan my life very well I come out like those successful people out there.

v. That misfortune is a point of view

From what I understand from this quote is that for any negative decision I take, the reward will always be bad results which I know is misfortune. Until I learned from this and change, I will always have myself to be blamed

vi. Action is what produces result.

Yes this equally true to me because knowing something is one thing and following it up with positive action is another. The good will of IIGL to send us these books is not to read and stay but it is to developed a sound environment and empowerment. If tomorrow we are going to boast to have changed the world Then that is a good thing because that is what we should be striving for, and to meet the goal of IIGL.

vii. That if I see anyone in this world producing a result I desire, I can produce the same results if I’m willing to pay the price of time and effort.

Perseverance is the mother or key to every success. Most of I always admire art work but now the problem I face is that even if I were to know or if someone over’s me a free chance to learn it will I have the time and commitment to learn it. From this exercise I have come to realize that time and perseverance are very important in self empowerment. Time as we used to say it in our local dialects waits for nobody and if anything, I must be ready to sacrifice for that.

3. How will these ideas or lessons help you in a practical way, both in your daily personal life and in helping you to create a better world? If so how?

The ideas got from this book is going to change my life drastically. Many at times I don’t believed I have some great potential that are different from the current one but from this book I have come to realize that for effective communication to flow freely I needs to put in some leadership qualities.

Also these ideas will help me greatly because I will know how to manage my community as far as empowerment is concern and the basic live values are dealt with. Thus in a bit to sum it up, the book has widen my belief and change system of reason.

Lastly the ideas got from this book will greatly help me in practical life in the sense that from the experiences on how to use effective communication to get unlimited powers because Without the flow of correct information, many things can go wrong. That is why before a message is send out as I have learned I need to frame it to meet the context for which it is deserved for.

4. Are there any statements which the author made that particularly got your attention? If so, please quote them and comment as to why they were important to you.

i). If you don’t like how you feel, change what you represent to yourself. It’s that simple!

This quote summarizes all what I know. Most often when I see people suffering to only a cup of drinking water to drink, I feel bad and even think I should immediately do something to avert the situation, but now the means are not there and this scare me a lot. So in order to change this situation I always some sort of fund raising to help this poor.

ii). Winning starts with beginning.

Goal setting is one of the ingredients which leads to self employment and sound environment. If my goal is well placed and lined up, strictly followed it will yield fruits. Success begins from some where and if my talents acquired from IIGL is rightly followed then I am going win.

iii). It is long been said that eyes are windows to the soul.

This is true because in life people faces and eyes tells what they are thinking. For example one time ago I met a friend from whom we completed secondary school together, when I saw him, he was looking very sad, I noticed it and upon approaching him I created a joke which turned into a true story. With this point I agree with the author as one can be looked into his and say exactly what the person fells.

IV) The mind in its own place and itself can make a heaven of hell, a hell of heaven.

This quote is equally important and helpful in the sense the way I reason that is how my destiny will look like. To be empowered and gain the riches of my labor is my priority. In short I understand here that if I used P.M.A I will be empowered which will be my heaven of hell and if my N.M.A is used then my hell of heaven.

5. Is there anything in the book that you do not understand or are unclear about, or are there ideas which you disagree with and, if so, why?

No, the ideas found in the book were read and exusted and I did not disagreed with anything.

6. Did the book contain exercises for the reader to complete? If so, did you complete all of the exercises and did you find them useful?

Yes, all the exercises where important and completed. This cause have change my life from what I used to be. The changes are there clearly written on the wall.

7. Was there anything you read in the book that you would like to comment on that was not covered in the previous questions?

No. What I have observed from this inspired books from IIGL is that, all of them are focusing towards empowerment and inspiring others.

The Law of Attraction
Assessment by Ntobo Valentine (Cameroon)

1. What is the main idea that the author is trying to convey in the book?

The main idea the author is trying to convey in the book: Law of Attraction is that we should try as much as we can to attract what we need or want the most and stay away from those we don’t want. what do I mean here, I mean if the strive for good education, good health and work is what attracts us most, then we must fight and move towards this direction. And if poverty, laziness and poor health is what doesn’t attract us then we must stay away from them. This according to the author puts it as the Law of Attraction. Yes it is really the Law of Attraction because we can differentiate our likes from our dislikes as the principle already exist in us whether knowingly or unknowingly, that is we are masters of our being and what we achieve, good or bad is a result of your will. Thus the law of Attraction matches our vibration whether positive or negative.

2. What were the seven ideas which were personally most important to you and why? List these seven ideas followed by an explanation after each one as to why it was important to you. Use personal examples from your own life.

i. The use of words and their impact to our lives. The author of the book The Law Of Attraction has clearly made us to understand here that the use of words influence the way we act either positively or negatively. That is the use of words like No, Not, and don’t just to name a few, cause us to send out negative vibration. The author further explains that the choices of words we use reflects our behaviours and experiences. That is to say if we are told not to think of something, we will instead start thinking of the thing. Like if you are told not to think of lying you will instead think of it and so on and so forth.

ii. Identify what makes you feel good and do more of it. Most often than not we do not know what makes us feel happy, that is why we keep on doubting of our outcome. Doubt is a negative vibration and if we keep on depending on this, we will be loosing our beliefs and thought, as will be limiting our potential for success as we will be limited through despair, fear and discouragement. When we consider all this limitations we will be sending out negative vibration. Thus if we identify what keeps or makes happy then we will strive for it. When this is done we will serve more time and our life will move on smoothly.

iii. You can rest your vibration from negative to positive by simply choosing different words and different thoughts. This is glaring in the sense that what ever thing we do, the impacts and repercussion live after us. As earlier mentioned the use of some words caused your feeling either negatively or positively. But what i will like to recommend here is that either for what reason, we should always thing of the positive aspect that will raise our vibration positively provided we choose right words.

iv. Always say yes to money. Money is what makes things move well in society. So saying yes to money is not a bad thing because as per our subject matter, saying yes means you are affirming to money and that you attracting money to your self more. This can cause you to intend get more of it as a result of your affirmation to it and thus positive vibration.

v. Abundance is a feeling and a good one. The author from his book explains that we attract what we want more and less of what we don’t. Yes from this illustration if we think of abundance being a feeling then we will develop the spirit of getting abundance, irrespective of our present situations in life. What do we need to do here. We need to attract the feeling of abundance and we will create a lasting impact to our life. This is important because we just need to create this feeling in our lives then all will be fine.

vi. Affirmations. The use of affirmation is a positive attribute to what attracts us most and sends out positive vibration. Thus it send out strong positive vibrations when appreciating oneself. Come to think of a situation where you need to go sit in for an exams. After considering yourself to have acquired all the necessary stuff, you then appreciate and affirm to yourself how you are going to pass the exams. This go acts as motivational factor since the confident is embodied in you, thus positive vibration sets in. Many achievements and goals have been set as a result of affirmations.

vii. Positive and negative emotions do not occupy the mind at the same time. This is equally true because as read from the book we can not say we are Christians and are not Christians at the same time. This is practically impossible because as the author draws our attention here that either we are masters of ourselves and not need go around thinking of evil things that will not help us. If we want success in our life we need to think success and nothing else.

3. How will these ideas or lessons help you in a practical way, both in your daily personal life and in helping you to create a better world? If so, how?

As the title of the book speaks for itself, the ideas found in the Law of Attraction will greatly help me to distinguish what is good for me and what is not good for me. What do i mean here, by the context of the book, the ideas here will help me to attract what i want much than what i don’t want if i want my dreams in life to be achieved. With the philosopher of our program, this ideas found in the book will not just end within me. Through this ideas my community stands a better place for developmental process since i will influence them with this rich ideas.

The use of some words too attracts certain attributes to my life. Words such as No, Not Don’t as the author puts it caused me to attract what i don’t want and so ‘So what do i want’ the opposite of the above words, with affirmative nature will exactly reminds of what i need, thus answering the question of ’ So what do i want’

4. Quotes: Are there brief quotes from the book which really got your attention? If so, please list and comment on them.

i. Simply ask yourself “so what do I want? Here i will go in for the positive aspects of wants and things that attracts me. The choice of words here and the Law of Attraction sets in. As a guiding principle, the Law of Attractions keeps telling me of what i want. This is just the opposite of what i don’t want. Also the choice of words comes into play in the sense that i can not affirm something and at the same time denouncing the think again. So the choice of words keep knocking at my door for positive words to always be used.

ii. “Positive and negative emotions cannot occupy the mind at the same time. One or the other must dominate. It is your responsibility to make sure that positive emotions constitute the dominating influence of your mind” by Napoleon Hill.

This point i totally agree with Napoleon Hill. As it is written in the book that we can not like some thing and like the thing at the same time. This is impossible because either we like some thing or we don’t like the thing. Only one vibration is send out at a time. And when ever our words are send out, our feeling changes too. Here the choice of words now come in. Example as it is often said in our common dialect that you can not serve two masters at the same time. Either you are for one or you are not for. Knowing full well that our appreciation and gratitude help us send out strong positive vibrations, we need to always stick to the positive nature of our life.

iii. Always say yes to money, money is power so say yes and achieve more if you can do so.

5. Is there anything in the book that you do not understand or are unclear about, or are there ideas which you disagree with and, if so, why?

YES. The scientific explanation of the law of attraction was a bit difficult for me to understand. How ever as i will be going through the book regularly i believe i will master it well.

6. Did the book contain exercises for the reader to complete? If so, did you complete all of the exercises and did you find them helpful?

Yes. The exercises contained in the book The Law of Attraction were effectively treated and were very helpful. From the book i now know how to use certain words that will attract good things to my life.

7. Was there anything you read in the book that you would like to comment on that was not covered in the previous questions? If so, please comment.

Yes. The book was well treated but the scientific explanation of the law of attraction needed to have been broaden upon. This would have been well understood by most readers like us.

Please rate the following questions on a scale from 1 to 10. Ten is good and one is poor.

The Power Of Intention
Assessment by Ntobo Valentine Ekombo (Cameroon)

1. What is the main idea that the author is trying to convey in the book?

The main idea the author is trying to convey in the book is that we can have desire for something and don’t know the right way to get it. That is why he, the author goes a long way to define The Power Of Intention as a strong purpose or aim, accompanied by a determination to produce a desired result. This, the author moved again further to draw our attention to the fact if we are positive to our intentions, then nothing can stop us from achieving this.

We are equally made to understand by the author that intention can be positive or negative. Positive intention is the right part, choice or decision we make which eventually leads to positive achievements. This is often accompanied with attributes such as love, joy, courage, truth, etc. while Negative intention is a situation where we often like not to learn nor associate ourselves with others. Its attributes can be that of self-will, loneliness, fear, isolation and separation. All this attributes are at the long run end up being effortless. So that states clear our point to this effect that in order to achieve our aims we must live vis-à-vis positive intention. So if I were to go by this principle, I will like to comment here that the author states that nothing occurs by accident if we understand our intentions.

2. What were the seven ideas which were personally most important to you and why? List these seven ideas and followed by an explanation after each one as to why it was important to you. Use personal examples from your own life.

i. Every thought you have has an energy that will either strengthen or weakens you. Since we are not out to bow down to thoughts that will weaken us we need to hold tide to positive mental thinking. This will take us to higher heights because weaknesses are mere obstacles in the road of success. If we want to achieve our goals in life we should think of strength rather than weakness. If we think and reflect positively so do our life too.

ii. If you desire peace for others you will receive it. The essence for our studies at IIGL is to create an enabling environment where all of will live free and void of no social ills. We should not create a harsh or tense environment of hatred and fear where people will not be able to live in. As the common proverbs use to say as you make your bed so shall you lay on it. Or we should not do bad to others and expect other to do good to us. Life is reciprocal, so what we do be it good or bad we will get our reward for it in return.

iii. Once we Consider that all human beings have within themselves the same essence of consciousness, and that the process of creativity and genius are attributes of human consciousness. Knowing what we want is a step ahead of being conscious. If we are poor and know very well the cause of our poverty and do not want to rise up and stay away from this weakness, then we are not making use of our studies at IIGL. We need to realized our untapped skills or resources and forge ahead for a better tomorrow. We don’t not to stand on a single spot for years, we need to change and create opportunities as time waits for nobody.

iv. The need to respect myself at all times and the ten steps to realise it: This point is quite pertinent in that we need to x-ray our characters in every circumstances. We should not be a ‘Thomas’ that will be trying to change our society and will not know the steps to go about it. Our character and behavior in society will mind the type of society we need to see. To do this, the book states clearly the medium and steps to follow for eventual transformation. If I am made to others to know that I am a honour and respectable person in the society and my character and behaviors proves me wrong then I am not longer maintaining the role of the ‘game’

v. Intention can be positive or negative; it can also be effortless. As earlier seen above, intentions can positive or negative, it can also be effortless depending on the way we want it. Positive intention will manifest characteristics such as truth, sincerity, love, courage, joy. All these will qualify positive intentions in any endeavor we want to take. This will lead to a positive transformation of the society. While on its part, Negative intentions will engulf all the negative attributes that will cause one to stay away from positive life. This can be in the form of separation, dishonesty, fear. If this happen we are then moving on the wrong part of life. Effortless intention on its part is the sum up of time or achievement we will not let go. And if we let it go the all our strength and time will be wasted in vain. So to better this situation we need to be positive in our endeavors.

vi. The obstacles to connecting to intention: This is a situation where one need to do a positive thing and faces blockades on the part of success. So in life when I find it that I am not longer moving to a direction which I intended to then I will need to stop and think twice before continuing.

vii. The steps for connecting to intention: There are basic steps we need to follow in order to be connected to intention. If this steps are not follow properly then we will miss our part of life. We need to commit ourselves and pray for right direction so that our life can change for the better of our community.

3. How will these ideas or lessons help you in a practical way, both in your daily personal life and in helping you to create a better world? If so, how

This ideas enumerated above are vital in the day to day development of life. This is because what I have read from the book-The power of Intention, am already experiencing the positive impacts of it in life. Also those around me are equally making use of the positive ideas and way of life we share together. Since our course is that of enlightenment and guiding the community to stay away from the old habits that us to cause them hardship, we really need to educate ourselves and the community to this effect. Also this ideas above need us to sit down for a moment and really rethink of our pass life. Whether it has been a success or failure in our part. Whatever the answer may be we need to take a firm decision and strive for positive achievements. Thus the ideas above will greatly help me and those around the community. To conclude these ideas will also help me to use the power of intention to harness my being.

4. Quotes: Are there brief quotes from the book which really got your attention? If so, please list and comment them.

i. If you are looking for occasions to be offended, you’ll find them at every turn. Most often than not people like to look for occasions to offend any one whether he or she does the right thing. We turn to find it very difficult to appreciate any even if he has done good which in actual facts he deserves to be appreciated with a ‘thank you’ word. Knowing fully well that we need to give thanks where and when necessary. If we don’t do it to others then we can not do it to ourselves. As an inspired member of IIGL we are out to change the mentality of our society positively so that they come out from the scourge of suffering. And this can only take place if learned to appreciate those around us for what ever thing they do. We as human are rational and we can change any body in any form by way of appreciation, since the first impression are lasting impressions. So from the above cited quote, I see it important because i should not always think of occasions to offend others or those around us, rather i should instead try to oriented people’s mind and guide them for better understanding which will bring positive thinking to their life.

ii. May the light and love you emit forever reflect back to you in joyful abundance. This quote is particular in the i need to know how to associate in the society. i should not thing that because of my wealth or position i can trampled on others. No that is not like that. Even from the Holy Book of God , The Holy Bible equally states that what we give is what we received in return. So i need to take it whole heartedly. I should not hate or laugh at people because of their present situation because I shall receive it back abundantly.

iii. ‘Don’t assess others on the basis of their appearance, achievement, possession and other induce of ego, “a man is more precious for what he is than for what he has’ This quotes equally reminds me of many things. I may be rich as I am but my source of wealth are not clear. Even if i know this i may be tempted to laugh at others who may be managing hard with their small wealth. Also a rich man can be seated in his office and by the close of the day, takes home a huge sum of money which he gets out of bribery while a young man on the street suffering under hot sun get home with the little amount he gets from the sale of his items. From this point we see that is this young man who had suffered under hot sun to get the small money will end up being the one to be more worthy in the Lord than the boss who sits in the office receiving bribes. What matters here is whether what we are doing is genuine or not.

iv. “Remember at all times that what you think and what you do affects other people.” This quote too is important because I live in a world where there is interactions between one another. That is to say I am not living alone. So to say what ever thing I do or say have an impact on others. Is true because I am a rational being, like wise other humans too. I might be saying something which I know is right for me but others may see it as the contrary. This quote will make me adjust from the way I reason and do my things.

5. Is there anything in the book that you do not understand or are unclear about, or are there ideas which you disagree with and if so, why?

No. The book addresses a certain level of consciousness in everyday’s life and reality, so all the important facts stressed on by the author are very vital, that needs to be reckon with.

6. Did the book contain exercises for the reader to complete? If so, did you complete all of the exercises and did you find them helpful?

Yes. The exercise which I found inside the book were vital and was completed.

7. Was there anything you read in the book that you would like to comment on that was not covered in the previous questions? If so, please comment.

No

Goals

Assessment By Ntobo Valentine Ekombo (Cameroon)

1. What is the main idea that the author is trying to convey in the book?

The main idea the author is trying to convey in this book ‘GOAL’, is that what we desire to have, if we put all our effort and strength in faith, we will achieve it despite the difficulties that may be involved in it. So if proper goals are set and well planned then success will come forth. The author further makes it clear to the reader that when goals are set and finally achieved, it makes us stronger and stronger.

From the rich materials found in the book, the author equally want us to examine our lives and see if what we are doing or the life we are living is not on goal we try and set goals that will guide us through, so that at the end we will live to rejoice.

2. What were the seven ideas which were personally most important to you and why? List these seven ideas and followed by an explanation after each one as to why it was important to you. Use personal examples from your own life.

Analyse starting point (Start from the Beginning)

To start something there is always a starting point to a particular exercise. This is true because there not been something or exercise that had began in the middle when it was supposed to start from the beginning. So for our goals to be properly set we needs to start from the beginning this ties with Anthony Robbins’ philosophy, one of the author of the great books we have read in this leadership program me. , ie the starting point matters and determines the mean.

The great question – what is my definite purpose in life.

This is certainly a striking question because nowadays if someone is asked this question he or she will not tell you anything. So as humans and future leaders we need to guide our society to take a striking and decisive purpose in life. This will go a long way to build and shape our community at large. Each and every of have our definite purpose in life. The problem now is how to set our goals and achieve them within the time frame. This will help us in determining our how far we are achieving our goals or not. Also in wetting our goals in life I for one have come to realize that we should not be rigid once we strive when setting our goals because our course is base on educating the community helping alleviating poverty in our society. So once setting and achieving our goals we should try to be flexible all round.

‘Your Future in your Hand’

This is a striking saying pregnant with a lot of meaning. Because what we want to be in future depends on the decision we take today. If right decisions are taken this will go a long way to bring us success in future and if wrong decisions or if we suffer from indecisions then we are moving towards failures in life. It is also vital to note here that we are responsible for our decisions and actions and as such we are where we are today probably as a result we took years back.

‘Associating with the Right People’

This is a glaring example in life as per this quote. I quite remember when I was still in secondary school, I used to hear my dad will tell my senior brothers not to moving with friends who are in a lower classes. This is because as you move with them you are band to reason and do things like them. Also we need to make friends with those we thing will give us good advices will like seeing us excel in life. Rather than associating with those who will always like dragging us behind. Also as it is commonly known here that if one moves with a thieve he is equally a thieve by aggregate. Nothing can stop one’s thought not to know that you who is moving with a thieve is not a thieve. So to set and achieve my goals in life I will know that type of people am associating with, their influence on me either positively or negatively.

How to Achieve Your Goal:

The title of this book is GOALS. What is it all about, goals, goals and goals. Is a very good thing setting goals. This does not end that like that. Once our goals are set we need to match them up. Here I term follow up to see that what we are striving for we achieve it. Yes we can set a thousands goals and once we don’t match them up appropriately then we are going to fall down. So when we set our goals we make sure that we put in more effort and energy to see that we achieve them.

Determination.

Just as the word sounds is very important in everything we do. As earlier said we can set goals as many as possible and if we don’t follow up with our determination to see that we have what we want then the goals we set will be meaningless. Like in our local saying that determination is the key to success. If we are determine to achieve or attain higher heights in future we start by setting our goals, follow up by with determination and achieving it will just be like an ABC stuff.

Clarity in your goals’

One thing I have remarked here again is not like setting what ever goals I want to set but the question here is are these goals attainable. If there are then I can drive on. This is because most often than not I come across friends who tell and show me their goals in life. This I appreciate because is the first step, now the next thing here will be, is it attainable within the stipulated time frame when all the necessary efforts are put in place, if yes then is good.

3. How will these ideas or lessons help you in a practical way, both in your daily personal life and in helping you to create a better world? If so, how.

These ideas have started manifesting in my life in that I now know how to set my goals and achieve them. Also the twelve steps in setting and achieving goals will greatly help me succeed in life. Practically speaking this book will help me really whom I am. This is because I know myself and will like to be who I will like to be depending on setting reasonable goals and achieving them. This will go a long way to practically help reshape my talent and life. Thanks to Brain and the book Titled GOALS and the help of other IIGL books that focus on leadership principles.

4. Quotes: Are there brief quotes from the book which really got your attention? If so, please list and comment them.

“In fact, there are no unrealistic goals; there are merely unrealistic deadlines.”

“Most often I am faced with deadlines either to submit a document in a place or to do something, what I often do is to procrastinate. And the more I procrastinate, the deadline draws nearer and finally am caught off by time. So from this book I have learned to always keep to deadlines and not procrastinating. I can therefore confidently say; this quote is particular to me.”

‘Excellence is a Journey’

Here the author makes us understand that through imperfections, we come to be perfect. Most youths in our society today are very much less concern about their future. They keep on putting the blame on either their grandmother or grandfather in the village. This they forget to know that their destiny lies in their own hand and as long as they keep accusing someone who is ignorant, the more they are being receiving curse the more. So with this new generation of leaders from IIGL work are going to do everything possible to shape their lives and pull the society out of the scourge of this dreadful reasoning and beliefs.

‘You were born to excel’

What do we mean here by excelling? Keeping up positively with the pace things are moving. Today every one’s dream is excelling to a higher heights, that is to say having a good job, living in a good apartment, having at least three square meals a day, having a car and all what not. With all these yes want them but what are we doing to see these things come true. Should we just full our hands and sit and see them come, or there fall from heaven as manna’s that fell during the transition of the Israelis from Egypt to the promise land when Abraham prayed to the Lord. Certainly no we should do something by setting our goals and making it a reality. Then all these desirous things will follow suit.

‘“… the single most useful bit of advice for all humanity,…: Expect trouble as an inevitable part of life, and when it comes, hold your head high. Look it squarely in the eye, and say, ‘I will be bigger than you. You cannot defeat me.’” – Ann Landers

All successful people are intensely goal-oriented”.

5. Is there anything in the book that you do not understand or are unclear about, or are there ideas which you disagree with and if so, why?

No. Just these tips which I remarked, that the book is precise and clear about setting goals and achieving it. There are examples cited by Brian Tracy in this book that when we set our goals well we will achieve them despite our current situation, either rich or poor. Everything in life is making the right choice by setting proper goals and achieving them promptly. Equally from this book though it looks similar to the previous books read, there are inter related as there are all striving to empower a new generation of leaders to take up the task and challenges that awaits us.

6. Did the book contain exercises for the reader to complete? If so, did you complete all of the exercises and did you find them helpful?

Yes, I completed the exercises I found in the book as there were equally very very helpful.

7. Was there anything you read in the book that you would like to comment on that was not covered in the previous questions? If so, please comment.

Goal Setting 101

Ntobo Valentine (Cameroon)

1. What is the main idea that the author is trying to convey in the book?

The main idea the author is trying to convey in this book is drawing our attention on how to set goals/vision and achieve them in a proper way to suit ourselves. That is from the caption as well as the insight of the book, we can depict the importance of goal setting and the proper way in achieving them to suit our purposes. The Author equally makes us to know that achievements and accomplishments are the results of clearly defined goals acted upon until completion. He did not end there as he further equates that careful planning, thoughtful strategy and faithful execution are the factors that leads to success. All these are inspire directories and needs to be followed orderly for our dreams to come true.

2. What are the seven ideas which were personally most important to you and why? List these seven ideas followed by an explanation after each one as to why it was important to you. Use examples from your own life.

Yes. The book is pregnant with so many ideas among which are the following seven that are personally important to me.

I) Six Successful Goal Setting Questions_One of the important rules in writing is to ask key pointed questions that lead to or provide fodder for the write up. Thus in other fields, asking important questions helps to come out with a clear cut explanation of things. The same is true of an individual who has a burning desire to achieve a particular goal in life. If he or she wants to succeed, he must endeavour to and answer the five important Ws and one H questions which are Who, What, Where, When, Why and How, of oneself. Obviously, these questions may be framed differently by the writer or goal setter but the key words above caries the day. Not only are these questions easier to remember, they also help probe and provide all the needed properties in the process of goal setting.

II) Equally importance is the quotes which called on us all to Always set a deadline ‘quite appealing . This is true to me because as the author puts it when he says the lack of a specific deadline often results in a lack of focused approach to attaining your goal. Yes because when deadline are set in anything i do it gives me great impetus and commitment to meet up with the target, as my time and energy all will be focused in attaining the goal. Thus the author pointed out that Goal setting is often a matter of balancing time against available resources. However, to many people strive to pursue their studies while working in order to increase their chances for promotion or to achieve academic credentials that they have always dreamed of. Whatever the motive may be, the best way to achieve this goal requires setting deadlines and working hard to meet them. This approach has enabled me to succeed in all the goals that I have set for myself and I don’t doubt that it applies and works to anybody who believes in it. With these rich and inspiring ideas from GOAL SETTING 1O1i will now know how to set and achieving my goals. I found these ideas here workable and will like to use these opportunity to called on my mates of IIGL to emulate the ideas this book seek to teach us and put them into practice and not only reading the book for reading sake.

III) The SWOT analysis is also of primordial importance to me. If i can recall this is the second time am passing through in the IIGL course. From this stand point, if i know my strength, weaknesses, i will know how to strive for the opportunities that will suit me. This analysis is very straight forward and important because if i have analyse how far then i will get to adjust and thus opportunities be achieved.

IV) Only Results Matter:_This idea is important to me because it made me to remember that no matter what I think I know or believe, whatever I do, I will be judged by the results I produce. Making reference from “Unlimited Power” that there are no success or failure but results, what matters is whether the result is desired or not. Whatever I do, I will strive to get a result and evaluate it for conformance to what I expect to achieve and then adjust accordingly until I succeed.

V) Again, Another point which i found important in the book is how to adjust to Three Crucial Life Circles_I know and believe i am endowed with great potential to be anything, i chooses or wants to be, the difference comes in when i do whatever i perceives as a heart desire. Like our Almighty God commanded the Israelites through Moses, Gary has picked on ten different areas of human life i ought to set my goals in. I find the ten areas extremely important, as they surround my values which in turn affect the mission and decides on my legacy

VI) Respect Reality – Face the Facts:_This reminds me for objectivity. The best way to assure consistent and lasting success is for me to set my goals that are realistic and can be realised. From the book GOAL SETTING 101, i will now practice to set goals that are attainable. Also setting many goals at a time is at times deceitful. Its important and imperative to set realistic and important goals at a time. It is advisable to start with small realisable goals and after gathering many successful experiences venture into setting seeming unrealistic goals. In this way, one will build on the past successes as like attracts like. When we accept reality, we are most likely to achieve our goals while denial share us away.

VII. ‘vision’. The author’s definition of vision as “a way of seeing or conceiving what you want to create or achieve. This is particular in the sense that i can not want to achieve something without first of all having a vision for that thing. I can not want to move out of the town for a business venture without having a business aim in mind. This will be meaningless. So with the ideas from The Book GOAL SETTING 101, i will know now how to set my goals starting with the top priorities. That is in order of importance. Like the author said vision must be understood, shared, accepted and lived by everyone who plays a role in making it a reality. As a leader i need to have a vision clearly formulated and communicated to my people and this will go a long way to help in achieving our accomplishments._

3. How will these ideas or lessons help you in practical way, both in your daily personal life and in helping you to create a better world? If so how?

First and foremost, this book titled GOAL SETTING 101 is like a magic to my life. This book has created and is still creating more impacts in my personal life. When the ideas found in the book are written down will go a long way to help me in practically. My daily and personal life has changed greatly as i read this book along. This too will go to change other people’s life around the community.

4. Are there any statements which the author made that particularly got your attention? if so, please quote them and comment as to why they were important to you”

i.“Leaders are born or made … most leaders make themselves” This is a remarkable quotation because leaders are those who must have passed through capacity building

ii. “Reality moves you towards your goal; denial moves you away.” Success is real, one can see it all around. Denial is a form of self slavery, limiting oneself to attain what one desires in life

5. Is there anything in the book that you do not understand or are unclear about, or are there ideas which you disagree with, if so, why?

No. The book is well simplified and understandable.

6. Did the book contain exercises for the reader to complete? If so, did you complete all of the exercises and did you find them useful?

The exercises that were found in the book were completed as duly required.
