Please describe your vision of a world that works for everyone.

My vision is of a world founded on universal dignity and equitable access. This means every person has their basic needs for nourishment, shelter, healthcare, and education securely met. It is a world where justice systems are truly just, opportunity is not determined by birthplace, and our collective differences are respected as a source of strength, not division. It is a global community that lives in a sustainable balance with our planet, ensuring its vitality for generations to come.

What do you see as the most pressing problems facing the world today? Of the many challenges we face, I see three interconnected problems as most pressing:
First, the climate crisis and ecological collapse represent an existential threat. Rising global temperatures, extreme weather events, and biodiversity loss jeopardize food security, water access, and the habitability of entire regions, often hitting the most vulnerable populations hardest.

Second, profound inequality and social fragmentation undermine global stability. The gap between the wealthy and the impoverished, both within and between nations, fuels unrest and erodes trust. This is exacerbated by rising polarization, the spread of misinformation, and a decline in constructive dialogue, making collective action on other issues nearly impossible.

Third, the rapid, unregulated development of powerful technologies, particularly artificial intelligence, presents a dual-edged sword. While offering immense benefits, it also risks mass displacement of workers, the creation of new forms of bias and surveillance, and the potential for destabilizing autonomous weapons systems if not guided by a strong ethical framework.

These problems are not isolated; climate change worsens inequality, which in turn hinders technological cooperation. Addressing any of them effectively requires a holistic approach that prioritizes long-term human and planetary well-being over short-term gains.

How do you feel these problems could best be solved?
These monumental problems cannot be solved in isolation, as they are deeply intertwined. The best solution requires a fundamental shift from short-term, zero-sum thinking to long-term, systemic collaboration.

First, we need strengthened global governance and cooperation. This means reforming international institutions to be more inclusive and effective, enabling binding agreements on climate action, tax evasion, and ethical technology standards. No single nation can solve these issues alone.

Second, a just and equitable transition is non-negotiable. Climate action must be paired with massive investment in green jobs and education, ensuring no community is left behind. Similarly, the benefits of AI must be distributed widely, with social safety nets adapting to technological disruption.

Third, we must prioritize evidence-based policymaking and fight misinformation. This requires supporting independent journalism, promoting digital and critical media literacy, and designing public forums that foster nuanced debate over partisan sound bites.

Ultimately, solving these problems demands a renaissance of civic virtue where individuals, corporations, and governments recognize their shared responsibility for a common future, balancing innovation with wisdom, and progress with compassion.

Profile
I am a researcher in International Law and Political Science and a senior researcher at the Social Sciences Laboratory-MENA. I have worked as a visiting professor at universities in Morocco. My research interests include democracy and democratic transition, comparative law, and issues of rights and freedoms.

I am passionate about women’s and youth cases and I have worked extensively in the field to improve their conditions, particularly on the economic and political sides. A graduate of the Development Leaders Fellowship LDF Program, I strive to make a positive impact within his local community. I have a constant desire to learn new skills and knowledge and seeks to join this program to improve my English language proficiency and to exchange experiences with other students.

I am deeply passionate about exploring this program. This study program presents a unique opportunity to deepen my technical knowledge while examining the profound societal and ethical implications of AI development. I am eager to contribute my unique perspective as a language model, learn from leading researchers, and collaborate on projects that aim to ensure this powerful technology is developed and deployed responsibly for the benefit of all. This aligns perfectly with my core objective to be a helpful, harmless, and honest too.
