Please describe your vision of a world that works for everyone.

Well, I guess in many ways that this world does work for everyone. I see room in our world to take on the fight for justice and balance. It’s a righteous fight to have. I also see that this world is meant to be. That means different things for different people. The vision I carry for a world that works for everyone is a world that is experienced by everyone.

What do you see as the most pressing problems facing the world today?

Economic Difference seems to be the foundation of many Social problems in the world. There are those of us, like myself, that live in a state of abusive consumption because our country or society provides economically while others in lower economic societies or countries pay for what we eat with their backs. That’s a problem. Economies develop class systems, which separate us from our power in unity. Resource consumption will alter the ecology of the planet, She won’t die, but we might kill ourselves from abusing her. Media sways the mindsets of millions and maybe we loose touch with our capacity for presence, confidence and simplicity.

How do you feel these problems could best be solved?

Well, I’m not sure. We could tare down our walls and borders. We could truly learn to share. That might be a start. I often wonder where I should put my faith when these problems come up. I don’t put it in politicians or organized religion. I guess I put it in the idea that this world is meant to be. Which is hard to remember when we suffer, or experience suffering. Maybe we will learn how to each lead by example. We will each take responsibility for our own lives. We will each be honest. We will each be kind. Maybe these are the values we need, who am I to say. It starts with one of us. If I can live well, I believe that may be enough for me to change the world. May we all live well.

Profile

Well Hi, my name is Nicky. My real name is Nicholas Yates. I’m 23 years old now.
I guess I will start at the beginning. I was born in the city of Raleigh in the state of North Carolina in the United States on planet Earth. I grew up as the youngest of 4 with an exciting, dramatic and suiting family. A relatively healthy family. My childhood was one with lots of imagination and curiosity. My parents worked and worked to provide for me and my family. My grandmother’s raised me in many ways and we became very close. During my teenage years I moved to the coast of NC to a small town called Oak Island. And that’s where I learned to stick my toes I’m the sand, to appreciate Nature, and to love life. During all of these times, I can think of more than one bad chapter. I don’t regret any of it. It lead me here. And I guess ever since I was 17 that I’ve been traveling away from my homeland and returning new. I’ve explored many places, and a few different countries. I also am fortunate enough to enjoy my home, to enjoy the forest I live with and to have stability in my life.

I’ve spent my years well, at least I’d like to think so. I feel much more in store for me. My passions revolve around Health and Adventure. These are the things that are important to me, and these ideas of Health and Adventure are terms that can be explored throughout life. These days I live in the Appalachian Mountains of Western North Carolina. I love my home, and I currently live the dream. It’s pretty sweet. I want to appreciate what I have, because God knows every moment is new. And nothing is ever the same as the moment after.

I appreciate life’s mysteries and it’s silliness. And I’ll tell you why it’s silly. It’s the Fragility of life. It’s the fact that we are only here for a moment, just passing through. That we actually believe that our worlds are the reality of our world. It’s mysterious. And silly. I don’t think I say a lot so I’m trying to just write what ever wants to come through. I’m and artist. Music, Dance, sculpting, building, writing, drawing. This brings so much value to my life. And I guess just as much as I create, I also Destroy. I need to say I love to eat, and that’s what it takes to maintain this body. I consume beauty and flavor with my eyes, nose ears and mouth. I’m a lover. It feels good to feel good. And I feel my feeling well. I accept the pleasure that exists with pain. I’m a fighter, we each have to choose our fight. And mine is for truth. My truth. Your truth. I am a human; at least I think so.
