Please describe your vision of a world that works for everyone.
A world works for everyone is a world that all people are equal irrespective of their race, age, gender, financial status quo. The world where gender violence is punished and not allowed mostly in African country men look as women as an object or property to be used and misused, women point of view is not regarded in some countries whereby it is a violation of human rights.
What do you see as the most pressing problems facing the world today?
Global warming in the world is real and affecting the world, people have destroyed trees and the world is faced on a crisis whereby in the near future we will be in a mess, food security is no more since people have gone far to build real estate so farming in lift with almost nothing and that is why starvation is real, no land to plant crops and we are at the moment consuming GMO which also people say it is not good for human consumption.
How do you feel these problems could best be solved?
We need to go back to our culture where by farming was the backbone of the country, students should learning that after school, farming is also a job like any other job we don’t need white color job to earn a living but working in the farm is also a nice profession.
Profile
My name is Lucy Maina from Kirinyaga. I am a mother of three children, married to one husband and a business woman. After my education I was longing to be self-employed; be a boss of my own, and through hard work and prayers I started a small business of supplying cooking gas and farm produce at the same time. It was not a simple job but at the moment I am a content business lady supplying gas and farm product in several places. I also advise young farmers on agribusiness and smart farming. I want
to empower myself and others through gaining new skills and it will be an opportunity to network with others both locally and internationally
