Please describe your vision of a world that works for everyone.
My vision of a world that works for everyone will be a world where there is gender equality. A world where people are not judge by their skin color. A world where people have respect for the rule of the law. I would like to see a world where people understand the true meaning of freedom and the difference between constructive feedback and destructive criticism. A world where people truly understand and accepts themselves the way.

What do you see as the most pressing problems facing the world today?
I see the following as some of the most pressing problems of the world today: Gender Inequality (income, discrimination) Religious conflicts; Security issues; Lack of education; Government accountability/corruption; Food and water security.

How do you feel these problems could best be solved?
These problems can best be solved when individuals, organizations and Countries collaborate and cooperate more as most of these problems cannot be solved by a single individual, organization or Country.

Profile
My name is Iyahen, Faith Omoruyi. I am an Innovation and IT Manager with the National Health Insurance Scheme, Abuja, Nigeria. I was born in Ikeja, Lagos State, Nigeria. I had my elementary and secondary education in Lagos State and later proceeded to the Federal University of Technology Minna, Niger State, Nigeria where I obtained a bachelor’s degree in Physics/ Computer Science. I recently completed my Master’s degree in Information Technology with the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN). Presently, I work with the Nigerian Government in the Health Insurance Sector. I have almost two decades of working experience in the Nigerian ICT sector. My interest is in innovation and business process enhancement using Information Technology. This led me to obtain a certificate in Innovation and IT Management from the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore through edX. I also have a certificate in Effective Problem-Solving and Decision-Making from the University of California, Irvine through Coursera and a certificate in Fundamentals of Management from the University of California, Irvine also through Coursera.

I have great love for youth development, leadership and human capital development. My mission statement is to be the best that I was created to be and to live my life in such a way that more people (especially young people) are inspired to live their lives to the fullest. I love to motivate people to embark on the journey of self-discovery and personal development. I am passionate about raising confident Teens who are not afraid to express themselves. A lot of Teens are given to aggressive behaviors – anger, violence, hatred, depression, alcohol and drug addiction and I believe that I can greatly impact this generation of Teens by teaching them life-impacting principles that can help them develop a healthy self-esteem. Presently, I am training to become a Self-Esteem Elevation Coach for Children because of this passion.

I love reading leadership and motivational books, world history books as well as the Bible. The story of Martin Luther King Jnr., his fight for the equality and human rights for African Americans, the economically disadvantaged and all victims of injustice through peaceful protest has continued to inspire me. Of particular note was his Montgomery Bus Boycott which eventually led to the formulation of the legislation of the Civil Rights Act and the Voting Rights Act. I enjoy listening to inspirational music, messages and teachings. My other hobbies are baking, watching movies and travelling. Some of my favorite authors are John Maxwell, Jim Rohm, Myles Munroe, Zig Ziglar, Brian Tracy and David Oyedepo. Travelling to me, is a form of education. I see travelling as a window to the world. It changes you as you get to see things and people from another perspective. You get to take something with you from each city and Country you visit. Nelson Mandela said that, “Education is the most powerful weapon you can use to change the world.” I believe that education is a foundational tool for personal development, political development and social justice. I strongly believe that a leader or an influencer should have great communication skills. This belief prompted me to join the Toastmasters International to improve my communication and leadership skills. Presently, I am the Vice President of Education, Jabi Lakeside Toastmasters Club, Abuja, Nigeria. I am also a member of the Nigerian Computer Society and the Institute of Health Insurance and Managed Health care of Nigeria. I believe in the institution called family. I have two lovely sisters, a brother and a mother who did everything within her power legally to see that her children got some good education after her husband passed. I am married with three lovely children and I am a firm believer of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
