Aremu Abosede Oluwaseun Nariwoh – Assessments

As A Man Thinketh

Assessment by Aremu Abosede Oluwaseun (Nigeria)

1. WHAT IDEAS WERE PERSONALLY MOST IMPORTANT TO YOU IN THIS BOOK? DO NOT SIMPLY LIST THE IDEAS BUT EXPLAIN OR DISCUSS WHY THEY WEE IMPORTANT TO YOU USING PERSONAL EXAMPLES.

Virtually all the ideas were important but the most important one’s are the following.

a. Effects of thought on health and body, looking at the holy book like the holy book will say “faith comes by hearing and by hearing the word of God” from this I personally deduce that fear, sickness, virus etc comes from hearing and it is what I allow inside of me that I will return or transform and will be seen in my attitude and the body.

Experience, I used to believe is the best teacher. At about June basically during the raining season, I always found myself fallen ill either with catarrh or cough. In fact it has being a tradition for me every year because that has being my thinking towards my health. At this period, my mother often complain because of my confession of cough during that period. I would say to her that I can perceive it but she will tell me to remove it from my mind. Sincerely, I don’t understand what she meant by “remove it from your mind”. Some years back I taught myself to think of strength instead of sickness and since then I don’t fall ill at the period again. I barely have ‘cold or cough at the period because I have trained my MIND on how to think positive than negative.

b. The thought factor in achievement is a true statement because one’s thinking of can affect one’s achievement in life positively or negatively. The phrase as a man thinketh in his mind so is he and as he continues to think so he remains.

My experience was so sad that when I graduated to senior category in my table-tennis career, I developed the habit of not wanting to loose at all. This thought is always making me loose because I am always too careful with balls on the table, which will make me loose eventually. I have always being thinking that it is not possible for me to get to number one in Nigeria after gaining admission into the University and till today I am not one instead moving backward in the ranking because of school which I believe I would have succeeded, if I had not conceived the negative thought.

Relating it to my academics, I don’t limit myself, I always think that I can score 100% in which I know if I don’t I will still be on distinctions. I also don’t believe something is difficult in this life. I don’t run from challenges, I believe I can do all things. I am always optimistic. For example in completing my first assessment, I was faced with different challenges, their was no time at all in school and at home, but I said I must be part of people excellence since I have the interest and I went out of my way to make sure I computed and send the assessment. But if I had negative thinking I would not have being able to achieve my goal.

c. Thought and character. Man is always his master, even in its weakness and abandoned state. This true-life experience is one that I love to share with as many that wish to listen. During my late teens, I conceived a thought that by twenty three years I would love to have a baby whether in or outside wedlock my conception was well define in thought because all I was after was the life of the great rap artist that flaunt their having children outside wedlock.

I never really wanted to have a child before wedlock. These I say to my friends that I wish to be pregnant at the age of twenty-three and put to bed twenty four. I said to them I can never abort in my life even if I get pregnant before marriage. At the age of twenty two, I started going out with someone which I got pregnant for at twenty three and put to bed at twenty-four. There was nothing I did not hear, I was humiliated just because the person that is responsible is not ready and I cannot abort. I had to carry the pregnancy through my two-hundred level/three hundred level and I give God the glory that I lam seeing my baby boy now even as I am not married. In all, thought has a strong hold on character.

Further more if one had conceived in one’s mind to be promiscuous, most definitely one will exhibit it in one’s character. Even to be a cheat, starts from conceiving the thought and transforming or exhibiting it in the character.

2. CAN YOU RELATE THE IDEAS OR CONCEPTS IN THIS BOOK TO YOUR PERSONAL CIRCUMSTANCES IN LIFE SUCH AS YOUR RELATIONSHIPS YOUR BELIEFS, YOUR GOALS, YOUR VALUES ETC. PLEASE USE PERSONAL EXAMPLES IN YOUR EXPLANATION.

There are so many conceptions in this book. Like the concept of the thought, factor in achievement depends on the kind of thought that will bring about the right kind of achievement. An impure and corrupt thought will bring about serious descends while an holistic and pure thought will make a man extend to its pinnacle.

Another concept is visions and ideals. Can you dream, how far can you, not just merely wishes but dreams with follow up. Accurate development in the pursuit of the dream will transform one to that place one visualizes for one self. Most of us cherish visions because it is usually a future forecast. Serenity is another idea. This talked about the calmness of mind and one will be like a three that serves as a shade unto others. That is having a settled mind.

To my goals, I always make sure I am being optimistic in everything I do, so as to achieve and maintain greatness. Usually when one has a positive mind about something, chances of having an excellent result will be maximum but if one is pessimistic the chances of having excellent result will be minimal.

As the book as a man thinketh so is he is true because, I had a plan of moving from 2.95 cumulative Grade point to 3.5 and to the glory of God I am in 3.10 cumulative Grade point now which I believe I will get to 3.5 with dean of hard work. I finished my first semester examination last week and I have a positive mind that my Cumulative Grade point will increase drastically from 3.10 to 3.40 at least. In all, I believe I will get to 3.50 because I have a semester to go.

To my relationship, for relationship to stand a test of time one should be able to sacrifice some certain things. I have learnt that one should not think of eating the cake and have it. One should try and be patience, slow to anger and be honest to have an excellent friendship. To the values on the other hand, I appreciate my disposition to things and this has always being making me outstanding in everything I do. I have so much value for life, because life is all about sacrifice, thought and spirit of maneuvering. In everything I do I place so which value in it because what is worth doing at all is worth doing well and this has being given me an edge over my peers.

3. WHAT ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT NEW IDEAS OR CONCEPTS YOU LEARNED FROM THIS BOOK, PLEASE EXPLAIN

Calmness of mind is one of the beautiful jewel of wisdom. The new concepts to me is one of the ways a man becomes a strong calm down. The stages are unbelievable, sensational how man cease to worry, fuse, fume etc. unto how to adapt himself to others and to govern himself; above all self control

These stages listed in chapter seven of this book has made a whole new meaning to my life and I will learn how to put them to practice and perfect them because practice make perfection. I am the kind of person that believes in taking things lightly but serious at the same time. I get upset, sad, rejected because I believe I should always have smooth transaction.

I remember writing a test for employment and after it, I was calm not minding the result that will come out of it, I excelled more than the other test have being writing because of my state of mind. Here, my thought contributed to my achievement. In summary I will learn this chapter the more, so that I can be the strong calm woman who is like a shoole living tree.

4. HAS THIS BOOK CHALLENGED YOUR THINKING IN ANYWAY? IF SO EXPLAIN HOW

My reading this book at first was for the assessment sake but as I continued from chapter to chapter I started seeing myself in every chapter that I forgot that it is meant for assessment.

In all fairness I studied the book and digested it so that it can benefit my spiritual, moral and physical life.

The Answer is YES

1. Bringing the chapters together, personally the effect of thought on circumstances is great. There is a place where sacrifice comes in. if you desire a great result in your life or a drastic change as a man, you should be ready to sacrifice that thing that is dearly to you causing pain or discomfort.

2. You do not get true prosperity by cheating or cutting corners, instead you are attracting wretchedness to yourself.

3. Good thoughts and actions can never bring about bad result.

4. Furthermore, I learnt that your thought if need be should not be altered especially those that are right, otherwise things will be altered against you. if a man’s heart is full of evil most definitely he will be wicked and pains will be written all over him. In the race of life one must be ready to keep a clear thought and allow the conscience to be functional and not dead. Vividly, I remembered keeping a thought that mathematics as a subject is difficult to understand and I found it difficult in understanding the basics of the subject. If I had a clean thought towards the subject it would not have happen that way or as such.

5. ARE THERE IDEAS IN THIS BOOK THAT YOU TOTALLY DISAGREE WITH? IF SO WHY?

I disagree with the story of the honest poor man and the dishonest rich man. In the illustration, the author pointed a kind of admirable trait to the dishonest which can mislead the reaction of the readers somehow. Especially in the present world today the evil ones are prevailing over the righteous both in government and private sector.

A reader who is easily influence or controlled can be lured into behaving the way the dishonest man did that it is, it is okay to cut-corners or cheat. Where I come from their is nothing like it is not good instead we say it is bad because depending from the angle in which you are seeing things. It is not good can still have some good traits while bad can never be good.

6. WHAT DID YOU FIND MOST HELP AND LEAST HELPFUL IN THIS BOOK?

I am able to denote in this book that the road to success is easy and smooth if only one will be sincere in all his doings. I found out that cheating one another does not bring breakthrough but reproach. It is better to go through the normal protocol in one’s dealings instead of cutting corners.

This book has being helpful a great deal because I used to feel one can eat the cake and have it. I do not believe in making sacrifices that much but I now know that for one to achieve what you so desire; one must be ready to make sacrifice for instance in academics, for one to pass one’s examination very well you have to invest time, money and energy, one must be ready to create time and study with discipline from the highest order.

In a nutshell, I find everything helpful and important in this book, because for one to make it in life one needs good character right thinking, discipline, experience, good discretion etc.

7. The summary of the whole book is that the body is the servant of the mind. The thought has an influence on the achievement of an individual. The book also talked on how it is wise to follow the right way in everything one does in life. It explained how cheating brings about discomfort and dismay in one’s life. It also expatiates on the need for the development of the spirit. The book said it is wonderful and good to know one’s weakness and one should endeavour to look for solution haven detected the weakness in order to become a better person in life. It laid emphasis on the thought and character of an individual and its relativeness to success.

In all the book encourages the readers to strive for success and attain greatness because the road to success is smooth if only one will be faithful and sincere in all his doings in life. One should also have control over the thought or ones thinking because thought has an effect on everything we do.

Jonathan Livingston Seagull

Assessment by Aremu Abosede Oluwaseun (Nigeria)

1. What ideas were personally most important to you in this book. Do not simply list but explain or discuss why they were important to you using personal examples.

I am able to denote in this book that practice make perfection. Relating it to my personal life experience, I never run from challenges; I face challenges because when you run from challenges one is bound to fail in life. I have had different challenges in my life because life is not a bed of roses. I happen to come from a polygamous home and I have being independent right from twelve years old. As Jonathan Livingston Seagul continues for success and excellent so also was the way I strive to become who I am today; and I am still striving because heaven is my limit and not the sky.

I find it difficult to make ends meet right from age twelve, but I said to my self that I will make it. I started with the selling of food (Hawking food) where I will go to school in the morning and hawk jollof rice with fried meat in the afternoon at the age of twelve. I was making little profit from the hawking and it is from this profit that I was saving for survival. I later decided to go into sport so that one day I will become a star and I will be celebrated all over the world. I started with the game of table tennis at age thirteen and I was excelling to the extent that clubs started inviting me. I played my first competition in 1994 which was an under fourteen in a national competition where I won the title, I later became famous in the under fourteen and I was promoted to under eighteen, then I was later invited for a senior competition. In the competition, fourteen seniors were invited and two juniors were invited in which I was one of the juniors. These was what I used in getting to the lime light where I defeated most of the seniors invited. I was still going to school and at the same time going for training. I started receiving salary and I stopped the hawking trade. Even as my mates were finding it difficult to learn new things in the game and I decided that I must explore in the game and also further my education to the university and even PhD level.

There are so many problems I faced with during my year of practicing table tennis and going to school. I did not get carried away with the frivolities attached to the game; but I put up an amour of boldness that I must read for my exams no matter how many times I failed so that I can get an admission into the university. I did not also allow the peer influence to distract my attention when I eventually gain an admission into the university, I was being faced with different problems but I applied wisdom with determination and a brave heart. No matter what people say about you, because you fail to go the same way they are going, just keep your head straight and be focus. After gaining admission into the university their was nothing my room mates in school did not say but inspite of all that I still keep my head straight, but I made sure I was doing well in my academics.

2. Can you relate the concepts or ideas in this book to your personal circumstances in life such as your relationships, your beliefs, your goals, your values etc? Please use personal examples in your explanation.

The main ideas in this book is striving for success, getting to greater height, living to touch perfection, understanding the basics, jeabusy and maintaining greatness.

It is not an easy thing to achieve greatness and maintain it. Most people believe in living for today, but I believe in living for today and tomorrow because he who fails to plan would plan to fail. As it applies in this book that most birds prefer to eat than to fly. Relating the concept to my relationship. I do not get myself into a relationship because of luxury but I get into a relationship if there is prospect in it but not necessarily has to be measured in terms of material things. I believe going into a relationship with either male or female will not stand a test of time if it is profit oriented.

I do not feel limited to a particular field. I believe in exploration. I don’t feel inferior among my peers because when one does, the ability to acquire greatness will be slim. I believe there is nothing I can’t do, even if others sees it to be difficult through Jesus Christ that strengthens me. I find it difficult in replying my assessment not just because I don’t want to but any time I am set to do it, their is always an obstacle but I forced myself to remove all the obstacles, for example there is a particular course I took in my year three that my course mates sees to be difficult to understand, but with perseverance and hard work, I excel in the course. The courses are kinesiology conditioning and physiology but I give God the glory that I got five point each.

To my goals, I intend studying law, but after sitting for the entrance examination a couple of times that I did not make the cut-off mark, I decided to opt for Human Kinetics and Health Education. All things being equal, hope is not lost, I still intend studying law after my first degree. Maintaining greatness is another concept that most people find difficult to contend with. After I became champion in my under fourteen and under eighteen category, I did not let it get to my head but immediately I started playing senior category I started loosing concentration and before I know I lost interest in practicing as I used to. I later found out that it really affect my being able to maintain the greatness. Tolerance, submissiveness, perseverance, patience are the words that has being helping me.

3. What are the most important new ideas or concepts you learned from this book? Please explain.

The new idea I learnt from this book is to be vigilant so as to know when distraction is at work, that is one should be watchful and mindful of what one does when at the top and when trying to get to the top.

Finding solution to problems is another new idea and not getting turned at little challenges. Cultivating the habit of diligence, perseverance and being discipline. That no knowledge is lost and listening to corrects will help in great deal in achieving success.

Another idea is kindness and love, I learnt to affect others positively and be ready to impact knowledge get into others that are less priviledge.

4. Has this book challenged or changed your thinking in any way? If so, explain how?

Yes, it has challenged my thinking in different ways. I know that the way to greatness is smooth if only one will be hardworking and persevere in life. One should be ready to learn from other peoples experiences and not only from one’s own experience. It has changed my opinion towards my table tennis carrier, I have said to myself before that I can’t play professional because of financial constraints but I now know that I can still play professional table tennis with or without finance.

I have learnt not to relent in achieving my goals in life that if am able to break the chain of my thought. I will be able to break the chain of the body.

5. Are there ideas in the book that you totally disagree with? If so why?

No

6. What did you find most helpful and least helpful in this book?

I find the word of encouragement most helpful using the story of the gulls.

Giving different steps in achieving greatness and maintaining it the book also explains different ways through which one can make his money to be friends. The act of feeling proud and looking down on others is also discouraged.

According to this book the more people talk negative things about you, the more the progress one should try and attain. One should try and be outstanding and stand out in every thing one does because what is worth doing at all is worth doing well.

7. In 50 words or less please describe the main idea the whole book is trying to convey.

The book is trying to explain that everyone can be great provided one is willing and ready to learn new things and adhere to instructions. That one should listen to correction so that one can forge ahead and be successful. The book explain that practice make perfection. That one will get to the top if one is able to break the chain of the mind then one will be able to break the chain of the body and resist the temptation that will give room to laziness.

The book portrays two set of people, one set is ready to practice to perfection while the other group is not ready to suffer for excellence. That the second set is not ready to pay any price for achieve greatness. The book explains that one is bound to be faced with different, obstacle and the road to success is not smooth but one should not relent nor give up. The book outline various ways through which one can get to the top.

Please rate the following questions on a scale from 1 to 10. Ten is good and one is poor.

A. How interesting was it to read? 8
B. How helpful were the contents? 8
C. How easy was it to understand? 7

The New Dynamics of Winning

Assessment by Aremu Abosede Oluwaseun (Nigeria)

1. What ideas were personally most important to you in this book? Do not simply list the ideas, but explain or discuss why they were important to you, using personal examples.

So many things were personally most interesting to me like what it takes to be a winner. The book explained in depth to me what I can do to become a champion. I am made to understand that if one wants to be a champion, one has to think like a champion. I have a notion of what a champion should undergo but the book has shed more light on the things I need to do to achieve my goal and attain greatness. I have added to my knowledge that for me to become a champion I must have the traits of a champion I must be able to focus my mind for excellence. That is I should be able to focus my mind for peak performance anywhere, anytime.

I have actually been doing that in everything I found myself doing both in school and my sporting career. The book also shed more light on the fact that paying the price prepares one for success.

Relating this to school I understand and found it very interesting to prepare ahead of what ever I want to do because what is worth doing at all is worth doing well. In my personal experience with life, lets take for example, if one does not plan ahead one will definitely fail, because he who fail to plan, has definitely plan to fail.

Therefore, paying the price prepares one for success. For example I prepared for a particular competition for one year, practicing morning and evening, closing doors to all social activities and focusing on how to achieve greatness in the competition.

Then, I train twenty hours out of twenty four hours, I don’t even sleep and even when I am sleeping I don’t sleep well because my mind is already set for the tournament. I think that was the competition that brought me to the lime light in the senior category; I really performed beyond reasonable doubt and everybody marveled at my performance. I think the only thing that discouraged me is the fact that I lost concentration since their was no motivation and the love of money instead of interest in the game.

The book also made me to understand that you choose what you want to be in life; whether you want to be an achiever or a follower that champions are Born Losers are unmade.

Have always had and internal value because that is number one thing one must have. One should first of all believe in oneself before starting any project. Genuine love for whatever one does and not for the money involved should be taken into consideration. It is obvious that if one participate in something or a project for the love of money and not personal interest it will not stand a test of time. Yes it is true because at first I had a passion for table-tennis but it got to a stage in my life that I needed to sponsor myself in everything I do and I began to put money sentiment into it.

Whenever I am going for a competition, I am always thinking of the money involved and even when I am playing a match I think of the money. It is so sad that I allowed myself to be engrossed with the love of money over my talent. I realized as I was reading the book, The New Dynamics of Winning.

2. Can you relate the ideas or concepts in this book to your personal circumstances in life such as your relationships, your beliefs, your goals, your values etc? please use personal examples in your explanation?

The ideas in the book The New Dynamics of Winning is unlimited. Some of the ideas I will relate to my personal circumstances are

1. Paying the price

2. The drive to win

3. The Olympian within

4. Fame, fortune and integrity

5. Visualization of victory

6. Self confidence and self transformation

7. Strength through mental toughness to mention few.

Relating the idea paying the price to my personal life experience. I am paying the price of becoming a great person and been wanting to be versatile. As an undergraduate in the University of Lagos I am paying the price to be given a degree certificate by spending four years in the University with hard work.

Furthermore, I am paying the price in my day to day activities to become somebody in life by being hardworking. One could also pay the price for what one had caused. I payed the price of devoting my time for reading the new Dynamics of winning, to answer and add to my reservoir of knowledge.

I have made sacrifice for so many things I achieved today. That is I have payed the price for been in the University today. I wrote different examinations at different times in order for me to gain admission into the university. Buying of change of course form, transport, feeding is part of the price paid to pass my examination. It is certain that when one paid the price, and do the right thing at the right time most definitely one will get the gold and not the silver nor the bronze.

The second idea in this book is the drive to win. As related to my personal circumstances. I have a mind set of a champion because I know I am a star and I am a success to my generation. For the fact that I have this mindset everything I want or plans is always coming to past and reality. I don’t believe their is something I can’t do, I don’t see myself as a failure or never do well. So I prefer to try something and fail than not to try or attempt it at all; and when I fall I will stand up and try again. By trying again I am always excelling. I had an encounter with a particular girl in my under Eighteen category. It happens that anytime we meet in the competitition, she is always beating or defeating me. Though I am always feeling bad but their was nothing I could do than to learn from my mistakes and perfect my strokes.

I did these and I was able to defeat her in our next match. If I do not have the mind of a champion I would have given up that I can’t defeat her but instead I put on an armour of boldness that I am a winner and I can do it and I did it.

The third idea is the Olympian within. What this is talking about is that if one has a project that involves different spheres of life, one should endeavour to prepare for four years or years before the actual day.

Fine, there is always a talent but one must build on the talent to be the best relating the Olympian within to my personal life circumstances, I will use my academic career as an example, there is an Olympic within me but in as much as I do not prepare or train the sport within by studying for the exam, my best can never be seen, but if I study so hard and even burn candle when there is no light means I am paying the price and Olympian within will be sound and I will have an excellent result on merit. I always prepare ahead of my examination and I am always having a good result. Building an Olympian within is another key point that will lead one to his destination and achieve a success after paying the price by building the Olympian within.

The fourth is fame, fortune and integrity. These three words are very important in ones life. Most especially when one is striving for greatness and after one must have achieved the greatness. Yes, I have had fame in my own little way, fortune yes and integrity yes. It is very easy to get these three points but maintaining it is the problems. When I started having the fame and fortune, I had already built the integrity to a point. I did not go to the University at the right time. I finished my college education at seventeen and I played away four years before getting an admission into the University because I was enjoying fame and fortune and I felt I will go and play professional table tennis but I thank God I realized that there is need for me to go to University in time. I thank God I did not spoil my integrity when the fame was on as well, because good name is better than gold and silver. It is very important to have the fear of God because when one is having fame and fortune at the same time it is dangerous.

I have experience visualization of victory because whenever I am preparing for something, I am always viewing it that I am going to excel. My dream began when I was twelve years old, watching an Olympic and All Africa Games Championship on the television. I saw a lady from Nigeria playing in the all Africa Games and their was so much fame ascribe to her. Immediately I felt I can do what she is doing, that I have gotten the talent and the following week I started going for training because I also want to have fame, fortune and integrity. I started like that and I played so many competitions but my dream, to my vision is yet to be fulfilled because I have not been to the Olympics. I still have the desire to feature in the Olympics. I still have the burning desire after my degree or during my master’s degree. I lost courage of continuing to play table-tennis in Nigeria after I lost in the trials for the all Africa games and I opted to go to the University.

Self confidence and self transformation is another idea. I have always had confidence in myself. Their was neither job, nor money with my parent. I came from a poor family where had to look for what to eat, wear and sleep individually and come together as a family. I had confidence in myself and I transform myself into an entrepreneur and device work that will be bringing in money for me before I started playing table-tennis I am always having confidence when training and during competition. I assimilate fast and learn fast so I have always been excelling even in school. Sometime I don’t read or study until one week before the examination and I will do excellently well because I am very fast at learning and assimilating. I am also pro-active and self confidence in all my dealings.

In all the ideas here, I embrace the fact that, to be a champion, one must have the following.

* I am responsible by the value in which I live

* My body, my mind and spirit I live to excel. I am worthy of happiness and success as anyone else and nothing is impossible to achieve in live.

3. What are the most important new ideas you learned from this book? Please explain.

The most important ideas I learnt are the following; self worth and self trust

The five fundamentals of self esteem

Ten self-affirming beliefs

The book explain that one must believe that, one is worth of happiness and success as anyone you are worthy in your own way, regardless of how you may feel different from others.

That, one must learn self trust, which is the ability to feel positive, responsible and in control of what takes place as you try to test your limits.

Apparently, the five fundamentals of self esteem is another good idea I really appreciate in the book that one should be aware that self esteem, or the lack of it, is at the root of all behaviour, both positive and negative. There is nothing like self esteem because it is inevitable; most definitely one will be spending most of the time with one self.

Self esteem is made up of self worth and self trust. Self worth is simply the feeling of being glad with one self. Self trust is the functional belief in your own ability positively and effectively to control what happens to you in a world of uncertainty.

One should realize that no opinion and no judgment is so vitally important to your own growth and development as that which you hold of yourself. I am able to denote that the most important meeting, conversation, briefings and lectures one will ever have, are those that one hold in the privacy of one’s mind.

That no eyes will ever critique a video of you, a photo of you, a reflection of you in a stone window or a full length view of you in the mirror as you step out of the shower, as sharply and critically as your own years. That one should make effort to feel good about one’s physical appearance including how you look, talk, think and dress. That if one does not feel good about those things one should take control and make amend by making changes.

Lastly, you can be your own worst enemy or your own best friend. Realize that once and for all, you hold the key to your personal success and happiness even failure.

I also embrace the ten affirming principles which are:

* Control of thoughts. I control my thoughts, emotions, actions and I direct them to improve the quality of my health, my relationships, my work and my life.

* I am a good valuable and worthy person.

* I am fully capable of achieving the goals that I set for myself today.

* I trust my abilities and my judgment in taking risks that will test my hints and I am willing to live with the consequences and rewards of my decisions.

* I am responsible for the values by which I live

* I learn from problem and setbacks and through them I can find opportunities for improvement and growth.

* My spirit, mind and body are a powerful team, which I set free to excel.

* I am my own best friend and coach. When I talk to myself, I am encouraging supportive and respectful.

* Every day I am becoming more knowledgeable more caring, more adaptable, more successful and more in control.

* Regardless of what happens in my life, I have decided to be happy.

4. Has this book challenge or change your thinking in anyway? If so explain.

Yes, it has challenge and change my thinking. I used to think I can’t go back to the table – tennis circle since I have left for sometime, but having read this book I now have a change of heart.

I also feel I can’t study law as a profession again but I am challenged with different examples and illustration of different great people in the book. I really enjoyed my reading the book.

Furthermore, I have always been feeling that it’s taken so long for me to achieve what I already set for myself in five years ago and I am beginning to get discouraged that all my effort has been in vain. But now I am having a change of heart that I will definitely overcome my predicaments.

The book has really challenged my thinking faculty because there are so many things that can enhance my fulfilling my vision which I am not taken cognizance of.

At a point in my life, even as I am writing this I am been humiliated by the members of my family that at twenty-five what have I achieved. I am weeping as I am writing this because they are actually frustrating me but thanks to the inspiring book THE NEW DYNAMIC OF WINNING. I am having a change of heart by believing in myself that I am intelligent wonderful, beautiful, full of charisma and enthusiasm and above all I know I am a GENIUS and I am born to be great nothing henceforth will make me cry.

5. Are there ideas in the Book that you totally disagree with?

No

6. What did you find most helpful and least helpful in this book?

I found all the points broken down into chapters very helpful and interesting. Every word in the book “The New Dynamic of Winning is soul lifting. I think this book is actually meant for people like us; that is, somebody like me that is not born with a silver spoon. At times I regret been in my family because no one cares, one is independent from teenager. The book is excellent it is full of inspiring words. The book actually outlines different steps one needs to go through to have a smooth road to ones destination.

7. In 50 words or less, explain what the book is trying to convey.

The book is trying to convey that you become what you want to be by yourself. That in everything one does, one must first of all have self-esteem and self worth. That is one must first of all acknowledge who he is. The book outlines different principles of life that enhance chances of attaining greatness. The book expatiates on the good side and the bad side of life. The book also outlines the self destructive beliefs.

Hitherto, the book made me to understand that I have little or no ability to change my feelings towards the things that happen to me, because they are caused by external pressures. That I am a Victim of Circumstances and further explain that they are devastating, negating beliefs. In all I should honour my internal dialogue. I know I can, be what I want to be, if I work hard enough, I will be where I want to be which I am willing and ready to do because I want to be great I am tired of the oppressors.

SUCCESS THROUGH A POSITIVE MENTAL ATTITUDE

Assessment by Aremu Abosede Oluwaseun (Nigeria)

1) What ideas were personally most interesting to you in this book? Do not simply list the ideas but explain or discuss why they were important to you, using personal examples.

Whao! This is amazing. I am fascinated with the word we are poor not because of God. Yes that is true because God never does bad things. According to the scriptures, God said his thinking for us is of good and not of evil, therefore it is God’s happiness for us to be a winner and excelling in everything we lay our hands on because God Himself is never a looser but a winner.

The idea of you having to take a bold step in life is excellent in the book. I have done that at one point in my life to hawk food for survival. I took the bold step even as I was always looked at with disdain but at the end of the day it pays off, even though it was not as big as S. B. Fuller achievement but I was still able to send myself to school, clothe and feed before I took another step of building and appreciating my career. I took the bold step at age thirteen when I would walk 60 km to the training ground daily. As time goes on I became a star in my category and I was comfortably taken care of myself through school. The biggest mistake I made then was that I did not invest my returns at all. I later realize it is wonderful, judicious, and reasonable to invest for future purposes.

The book Success through a positive mental attitude illustrated different true-life story of able and disable people who at one point in their life was nothing and today they are something because they have self-esteem.

I never thought I could join not to talk of cope with the global leadership school but I am doing fine now because I believe I am equal to the task. I have acknowledge who I am before accepting to fill the form and join the leadership school it is this easy for me to study and answer the assessment given because I believe and have confidence in myself.

Another idea that I found very interesting is the principles one could apply or drawn from Tom Dempsey story which are been able to think of achieving high goals. That is, greatness comes to those who develop a burning desire to achieve high goals.

I have the burning desire to be a great person, acquire all I can to be comfortable and affect others positively in life. I sat down one day and thought of what I could do to be great and I said to myself that a journey of a thousand mile starts with a step. So, I decided to go in a long-term investment in 2004, which is the stock business. I saved some money from where I was working then to purchase a public offer shares and today it has appreciated.

The second idea that I embraced too is that success is achieved and maintained by those who try and keep on trying with PMA. In 2006, another public offer came out that everybody around me discouraged me of purchasing because of the one I purchased in 2005 that did not really appreciate but I said to myself that how do I succeed if I don’t try and I did and its paying me off now so it is true that success is achieved and maintained by those who try and keep on trying with positive mental attitude.

Another idea is that practice make perfection. That for one to become an expert achiever, it takes practice…. practice…practice. That effort and work can be fun when you establish specific desirable goals. The main idea in this book is that one should always think big and work towards it. Don’t feel inferior of yourself.

2) Can you relate the ideas or concepts in this book to your personnel circumstances in life such as your relationships, your beliefs, your goals, your values etc? Please use your personnel examples.

I happen to be very industrious. I am always thinking positive and each time I do this any organization or anywhere I am is always in good condition. This is a true-life experience of where I worked before now. It happens to be a one-man business enterprise. I started with the owner when there was nothing and today the company is big. What I am saying in essence is that I contributed in a great deal because I was the personal assistant and a counselor. I am always advising my boss when business was not in good condition. I am always thinking of possible strategies to use in moving the organization to the higher level. It got to a point in the history of the organization that we almost fold up but I advise my boss that we should try one of the business tricks. “Buy one get one free”. We did this for one month and we regain our money and still have customers.

After one month we decided to stop and increase the quality of our product plus the price and in three months our turnover was marvelous. Hence, I am able to denote that there is power in positive mental attitude. I resigned from the organization because it was taken so much of my time but before I resigned I left a positive trace of myself in the organization that they will never forget.

Relating this to another experience is to my relationship. I am always having a positive mental attitude towards my relationship with people because what is worth doing at all is worth doing well. In this sense always make sure I put the next person into consideration, be more concern about the matters that is most precious and hurting. I always try to be these when I am needed in my relationship.

To my beliefs, values and goals, it is the positive thinking that will make one and that has been making my beliefs, values and goals cogent and meaningful. I belief one’s destiny is in his hand. It now depends on how you take hold of your life. I belief you can be whatever you want to be if you work towards it. I also belief one must have a missing vision and then work hard to achieve the set out goals in life.

Hitherto, the most interesting idea is the one that says you should set out goal for yourself and work towards it, that it is not God’s wish for us to be poor. One is definitely going to face challenges like I am facing in my life but I have positive mental attitude that once I do the right at the right time I will attain greatness and maintain it.

3) What are the most important new ideas or concepts you learned from this book? Please explain

One of the new ideas I learned from the book Success through a positive mental attitude is that we are poor not because of God, that if we search for the light we will definitely get it. Before now, I always feel if one is poor God knows about it. There is this myth or what one is meant believe that if evil befall one that God deliberately allow it to happen and that if one is poor God wants it like that, I now know that whoever is poor is poor, not because of God.

Another idea is that for one to be great and successful, one should first of all clear the cobwebs from one’s thinking. Clearing cobweb from one’s thinking simply means one should not have mixed feelings, one should be optimistic, one should have a positive mental attitude and one should expect anything, that way, one will not be disappointed. It is known about we live in a strange and fast moving world therefore one should be upright, steadfast up and doing and truthfulness.

Another idea I found very important and useful is learning to see. That is learning from other people’s mistake. Try and view, watch other people’s abilities, capacities, viewpoint and capabilities. One should not be too full of oneself. One should not be too proud and one should be ready to listen to correct and learn from others.

How to motivate oneself is another great idea I found interesting in the book success through a positive mental attitude. The ten possible ways one can motivate oneself is outlined how one should rebuff negative thinking and cultivate the habit of been happy at all times.

I also know or learn more about a success formula that always succeed when applied. The secret of getting things done is another idea, I really appreciate. I am able to denote that one can actually mix business with pleasure if done wisely and at the right time.

Awaken the sleeping giant within an individual or the last but not the least of the ideas I found interesting. I also discover I am great that I have this thing deposited inside of me to make me great that the only thing I need is to dig through my mind and be great.

4) Has this book challenged or changed your thinking in any way? If so explain how?

I now realize that one can actually be saving little by little even if it is hundred Naira (N100) per day, it is something, the penny one is saving can actually by a firm or a company and this will lead to the beginning of one’s greatness that I don’t have to want till when is five hundred Naira (N500); that this is the time to start saving.

It has always been my dream to travel to the United Kingdom or United States of America for my masters but I have always been feeling it’s not possible because I don’t have money to sponsor myself.

I now have a change of heart that I can and will be there if I start saving now, I have a change of heart now that I can still study abroad for my second degree if I am up and doing with perseverance.

I am also challenged, having read through different through life experiences of others, that means I will make it too if am focused with the positive mental attitude.

My greatest priority now is how to get an admission and do my masters in the United Kingdom or United State and I am challenged that I can be there if I want to. Thanks to the book, “Success Through A Positive Mental Attitude” you have rekindle my dream.

5) Are there ideas you totally disagree with? If so why?

Yes, the idea of one saving and getting a loan or lending from somebody is not applicable in my country.

Our own economy does not support that, in fact one cannot purchase something and be pay installmentally. Not to talk of getting a loan from the bank without tangible collateral. Our economy is so bad that the rich people are not ready to assist the poor not even the government is ready to encourage the youth. One is just striving to make good things happen.

6) What did you find most helpful and least helpful in this book?

To be honest, I found every point outlined in the book: “Success Through A Positive Mental Attitude” helpful.

The following are the points I found most helpful:

a) You can change your world

b) You are poor not because of God

c) Clear the cobwebs from your mind or thinking

d) Learn to see

e) secret of getting things done

f) How to motivate yourself and others

g) How to find satisfaction in your job

In all I found all the points broken down into chapters interesting and helpful most especially for an upcoming like myself. I welcome myself to successful peoples club having read the book: “Success Through A Positive Mental Attitude”. It is inspirational and a dream come true.

7) In 50 words or less, please describe the main idea the whole book it’s trying to convey

Psycho Cybernetics

Assessment by Aremu Abosede Oluwaseun (Nigeria)

1. What ideas were personally most important to you in this books?

There are so many ideas outlined with examples in the book psycho-cybernetics 2000.

Your self image and how it affects you is one of the great ideas I am made to understand the lack of self esteem is central to most personal and social ills plaguing our state and nation therefore their need to look into developing, valuing and appreciating our self image. That, no matter how we look, we should not give ourselves self defeat but be optimistic and be self confident. That way, one will have a good personality and the road to success will be smooth. But if the reverse is the case, chances are that one might never reach the target destination nor achieve the set goals. Relating the case of John and Laura. I am able to extract so many facts from their story. I learnt that one should not be cynical, that one should not kill the giant inside but allow the giant be at work by believing in one’s ability and capability. That one should be ready to face challenges and not run or dodge challenges.

Furthermore relating to self-image and how it affects us. Maltz wrote that each of us carries a mental blueprint or picture of ourselves, that it may be vague and ill defined to our conscious gaze even, it may not be consciously recognizable at all. To this extent I have learnt that there is nothing I cannot do, that I am equal to the task provided I have a positive mental attitude with my self image.

Moreso, the key to better life is another idea I found very important and interesting because I have been looking for the key to a better life, so that I can have one. I really enjoy the illustration under it and not only do I enjoyed it but also gained and add to my knowledge. I am so happy that I am opportune to be in the Global leadership school because this knowledge is worth more than millions; and no knowledge is lost.

Six steps to success is another idea I found very delightful. Why do I say delightful? Because it was further broken down into sub topics. The six sub topics throw more light into the steps to success.

The following are the topics.

Program yourself to success: under this, I am able to understand that in everything one does in this life the whole of yourself must be unwhole. That the body, spirit and mind must be involve. I am so happy reading this because I used to have the problem of lack of concentration, not putting the whole of me when engaging in an activity sometimes. I now know, haven read this, I will no longer involve half of me in whatever I am doing but the whole of me well programmed positively. I am able to denote that the human brain is an automatic guidance system. That it can either be a success mechanism or a failure mechanism. That it all depends on the target our thinking mind establishes for it and on the way it responds to its own errors. As in, the brain must be functioning well at all times. That the brain must be at alert to respond to every stimuli correctly at every point in time.

Imagine your way to success. Is this not encouraging? Yes it is, because if one can imagine success, one will definitely achieve success. The book psycho-cybernetics also throws more light to imagining one’s way to success. It said through one’s creative imagination, one can create images of success that by incorporation into yourself image can be turned into actual success. Effective picturisation of a future project positively and taking a right step at the right time will become reality and something worthwhile.

Relax and turn stress into success is another sub topic that I am just learning; to be sincere. In as much as I go through stress daily, I still don’t see it as success because I am always feeling bad that why me. But I think I have a solution haven read the book psycho-cybernetics 2000. I am able to know that relaxation is the key to achieving greatness by been able to activate our creative imagination and that is the only state in which the servomechanism can work properly. It is really true that most of us have no idea on how to relax. The way I used to respond to events in my day-to-day activity has always been an increased stressed. Fine, I no about exercise and how it is useful to the health but I never apply it when going through stress.

Set Goals: A pre-requisite to success. Enhancing ones self-image is not an end in itself. If one does not have worthwhile personal goals one will definitely conclude that life itself is not worthwhile. It is only by establishing specific and attainable goals that we turn our servomechanism into a success mechanism.

Using negative feedback toward success is another idea that is very interesting that, once you have established goals, which your internal guidance system kicks in. But again, it is yourself image that determines whether or not you remain locked on target. People whose self-image is positive found it easy to develop and nurture the success type personality.

There is an acronym for success and failure as illustrated in the book that is very interesting.

S – Sense of Direction

U – Understanding

C – Courage

C – Charity

E – Esteem

S – Self-confidence

S – Self-acceptance

F – Frustration

A – Aggressiveness

I – Insecurity

L – Loneliness

U – Uncertainty

R – Resentment

E – Emptiness

Whao: This analysis is beautiful. Disinhibit your personality and fuel success is totally a new topic for me. I really don’t know how to control my emotions like that but I think to an extent now I can control both present and future emotions clearly without having to go through emotional trauma.

I am also encouraged with the sub-topic that says become who you want to be.

In all, the entire book is very inspirational, full of knowledge and a bulk of spirit filled words.

2. Can you relate the ideas or concepts in this book to your personal circumstances in life such as your relationships, beliefs, goals and values? Please use personal examples.

My relationship, values, beliefs and goals have always been fair. I deal with others the way I will want others to do to me.

To my relationship I do belief I can do all things through Christ Jesus that strengthens me. I do really see myself as success and I always try to affect others positively for example there is this investment company in my country that I have the link and I try as much as I can to introduce my friends to it because it pay off. I don’t look down on myself or on my relationship. I believe moving with somebody that we have the same perspective about life if not all but at least 70% must get along. I always try to improve on my personality and my self image and esteem. I believe in my relationship so much that I don’t allow it to be drag in the mud.

Relating relationship in another dimension like having relationship with elder people. One thing have come to realize is that old and influential people tend to weigh an individual before getting close and placing you in the high pyramid.

As I have denoted this, I always try not to underrate myself but try to be reasonable.

To my beliefs, one thing that is very important is the fact that one has to be able to adapt with situations around. As in, other people have their beliefs too, so therefore one should be willing and ready to learn from others, which I do and I can see it in the book psycho-cybernetics 2000 that is very important. Fine, one must have self-esteem and image but at the same time one should be ready to reason with others.

One of the concepts in the psycho-cybernetics that I found very help relating to beliefs is disinhibit your personality and feel success. Furthermore “you really can create change is another idea that I found very helpful relating to ones beliefs. Five steps to a new self-image are another concepts that I found very helpful.

Sometimes, one tends to have wrong beliefs about life and such beliefs can sometimes inhibit success. Feeling of inadequacy, unworthiness or guilt may spring from false beliefs.

Like I said we sometimes do have wrong beliefs and this lead us to unfulfilling end. I am very delighted that I am opportune to read psycho-cybernetics 2000. It has really changed some of my beliefs. What I think is not easy to achieve is now easy.

There are so many things I engage in these days that I don’t do before because of my beliefs; but ever since I started reading psycho-cybernetics 2000 my life as never remain the same. Thanks to Global leadership school.

To my goals now, since have been able to change some of my beliefs my set goals have been working out one after the other. Have been able to map out strategies in achieving these set goals.

Three ways to make New Memories Last, Targeting on Ideas, Set your own targets, Stress: Private enemy number one, use relaxation to oil your success mechanism. How relaxation sparks creative insight, How to visualize stress away, the pioneer of laughter, Stress Prevention to mention few. The above listed concepts or ideas have really helped me in achieving my set goals since have been reaching psycho-cybernetic 2000. Turn stress into success is another great and wonderful concepts I can’t forget.

The questionnaire set out in the book has done a great job.

Value is another great thing because for you to do anything important and reasonable one must first of all value it weigh it and what the value is.

Psycho-cybernetics as thrown more light in the different ways at which one will value something. I am so happy that my level of valuing things has changed. Don’t loose sight of your goals, targeting on ideas, fix ways to maximize your progress, so seeds when you experience set back are some of the concepts that I found interesting relating to values and in all ramification.

3. What are the important new ideas you learnt from this book? Please explain

I cannot mention all the new ideas I extracted from the book: Psycho-cybernetic 2000. Virtually, all the ideas are very important, educating and inspirational. I will just explain some of the ideas I found most helpful to me.

Turning New Memories into Positive Behaviour. Yeah, here I am meant to understand that I should try and forget old beliefs whenever I found myself rummating over thoughts that will bring nothing but trouble. Unrealistic of unworthy of success thinking. That I should try and replace old beliefs with positive constructive self-thoughts. That I should say to myself I am a worthy, pragmatic, competent person. I work well with people in authority and I deserve success and happiness. That after having the new conviction I can now write messages to myself placing them where I will be able to read them several times each day.

That I should create new memories that will bring about my been successful. In all, I should belief in my new thinking. How my positive beliefs can further my self-esteem is another good and interesting concepts. How to overcome my built in resistance to change, four steps to creating new memories is very helpful because I can now have a new thinking. I am made to understand that I should view my old beliefs and negative memories as if they belong to another time and place i.e. another life. Elicit them from my right brain to visualize the old memory as though it were at the end of a long tunnel and gradually fading away into darkness. That I should see it diminishing I should set fifteen minutes for visualization. During these fifteen minutes, I should imagine how I would alter old memory. Create a videotape of my new memory in my mind. I should see myself as successfully completing a task; see someone complimenting me on my new achievement; I should see myself accepting their praises with grace, sincerity and humility.

My oh my I am happy that I am getting ways of creating new memories. That I should consciously accept this new memory as the trace one. Affirm repeatedly that I accept this future memory as a fact. Remembering my subconscious mind will eventually come to view it as if it actually happened. The three ways in making new memories last is another great idea.

Here, I am meant to understand that as I feel my new beliefs is taking hold, that there may be a tendency of slacking off a little on diligence, that I should not make mistake.

I should try and program my dreams by focusing on my new beliefs as I go to sleep. That I should try and reminisce on the problem while in bed as the old saying “take a problem to bed and sleep on it!”. This directly addresses my subconscious mind and helps install the new images in my right brain. That I should program my day dream every time I catch myself dwelling on a negative memory or past mistake. I should cancel and redirect my day dreaming towards positive images that support my new beliefs.

I should go about my daily life with an attitude regarding my new belief system. I should remember to my subconscious mind. How relaxation as helped save a friendship, how relaxation can keep me healthy, a key to reflective learning, the gate way to learning, how relaxation can change the way I perceive myself, Zen breathing, the radiant light to mention few.

4. Has this book challenged or change your thinking in anyway if so how?

Yes, the book has challenge and changes my thinking in so many ways. I have never heard of Zen breathing in my life until when I read the Psycho-cybernetic 2000 book. After reading about Zen breathing I tried it and it worked for me.

Secondly, I never knew the power of relaxation. I never really take out time to relax the way one should, since I have been reading inspirational books. But I followed it step by step as outlined in the psycho cybernetic book and it worked for me.

Setting out goals and different ways of maintaining it is another idea that challenge and change my thinking. The power of laughter as really challenged me because I don’t laugh often, I smile but now I can see the power of laughter. Instead of me smiling, I laugh. That is quiet very helpful.

Don’t loose sight on goals is another idea I like so much because if one loose focus on the set goals, there will be problem. How to put my success mechanism to work. I have learnt more ideas or more ways of achieving greatness and maintaining it. I am made to understand that learning on procrastination will do nothing but harm. That I should try and cancel my realizations for procrastination. I should replace my realizations and excess with positive goal oriented statements.

Affirm myself image as a task oriented person who moves forcefully towards my goal. Focus on images of myself in fulfillment of my goal. Train myself by taking positive action. Furthermore, I now have more hints on tips in focusing on my action plan.

I am made to understand that I should reserve a few minutes each weekend to list things I would do in furtherance of my goal during the coming week. I should make appointments with myself to spend at least ten or fifteen minutes everyday working on some aspect of my plan: making job contacts, practicing new skills, researching and reading appropriate articles, that is my calendar or daily planner and honor them as I would do to any commitment.

Take note of my progress. Review my calendar weekly as evidence that I am actually doing something in pursuit of my goal and this way, success is fast approaching.

Setting up a self-monitoring system is another idea that challenge and changed my thinking.

5. Are there ideas in the book that you totally disagree with? If so why?

No.

GIANT STEPS

Assessment by Aremu Abosede Oluwaseun (Nigeria)

1. What ideas were personally most important to you in the book? Do not simply list the ideas, but explain or discuss why they were important to you, using personal examples.

Virtually all the points were personally most interested too me. The book Giant Steps by Anthony Robbins really shed more light to dark areas in my life. It makes me to be reasoning more logical. As it is broken into daily lessons makes it very easy and interesting to assimilate and apply to daily life. The book rejuvenate my dreams as it explains that we all have dreams, that deep down our souls we have a special gift that can make a difference, that touch peoples life in a special way and that can make the world a better place. Even if one does not have a dream or has but it seems is not working, one should take a moment now just to dream again and to think about what one really want in life. Fine, it is very possible that one will dream and try to follow it up but to no avail. I am meant to understand that it’s not what we do once that matters or counts but consistency of the act counts. That, the father of all actions and what ultimately determines who we become and where we go in life is our decisions. It is when we make and stands on decisions that one’s destiny shaped; this is a fantastic and a wonderful point I cherish. It is a great thing for one to gather or create an unstoppable momentum because it will definitely lead to an undeniable reality. Making a decision and been committed will help achieve greatness and be successful in every ways with discipline and perseverance. It is hard to take decision sometimes as it seems that all doors are closed therefore, in this sense if one can, it will lead to joy. Success is the result of good judgement. Good judgement is the result of experience and experience is the result of bad judgement in most cases. That one should try and look at the past mistakes to improve on others for a better future. Lets take for example; there are some certain things have done or that has happened to me in the last few years that will never happen to me again because once beaten twice shy and this comes as a result of experience.

Another point I found very interesting is that success and failure are not usually the result of single events. That failure is the result of neglecting to do a particular thing at a point in time and feeling inferior and not been able to persist. Another interesting point to me is that those who succeed in life tend to make decisions rapidly and are slow to reverse a well thought out of position, conversely, people who fail usually decide slowly and change their minds frequently. Once you’ve made a sound decision, stick by it.

I am able to make three decisions that will change my health, career, relationships and my life as a whole, and I am willing and ready to act upon them. The Giant Steps Book enlightens me in the area of turning invisible to visible. That, the first step is to define my dream accordingly and mapping out a strategy in making those dreams a reality or forming a plan that will ensure their attainment and success. I am also able to understand that the secret of unleashing my true power is setting goals that are exciting enough that they are truly inspiring that will inspire my creativity and ignite my passion.

Allowing the reticular activating system to function properly because when it does every other parts of the brain will act accordingly. Then one will be happy because everything one does will be to one’s ability and fulfillment. Have also learned that under the bright light of conscious scrutiny negative association often loses their hold on you; awareness is the first step.

Another point that I found very interesting is that the book laid emphasis on knowing the most important thing that is needed at every point in time and having a direction in which one is heading to. That it is very important to set standards for instance, one should endeavour to set out goals one must achieve in a year or more.

Believing in one’s spirit is another point that I found very interesting. One should believe that the human spirit is unconquerable. They will win, the will to succeed, to shape one’s life, to take control can be harnessed only when one decide on what is needed and believe that no challenge, no problem, no obstacle can keep you from it. I used to feel having obstacles in life is bad but I now realize that obstacles are merely a call to strengthen your resolve to achieve your worthwhile goals. I am able to add to my reservoir of knowledge that every great and commanding moment in the annals of the world is the triumph of some enthusiasm.

Knowing how to get what you really want is another interesting point, that to achieve one’s goals and objectives in life one should first of all discover what is preventing you from taking action in achieving those set goals. Having known the mistakes of the past that brought about the consistent and heavy obstacles, one should try and device a strategy in using the mistakes to change your life. Instead of asking how can I avoid doing this painful task; ask; if I don’t take action now what will this ultimately cost me. Relating this to my experience in life now, I really don’t think there is no month I don’t encounter different obstacles before I could get what I need as at the time I need it. I was thinking of how to money so as to offset some of my bills but something told me it will be difficult to get the money but after sometime I realized that it is the bad spirit that it is making me feel like that. That I should be optimistic and follow it with action instead of feeling it is impossible. After a day or two my project supervisor called me and gave me a job to do that worth the amount needed for my immediate needs.

Therefore, I totally agree with been optimistic and putting up action and consistency to get what you want. I am also able to know that pain is sometimes used to shape one’s destiny. That one of the miracles of been human is that we can decide what causes us pain and pleasure. I am also able to know that haven read the book Giant Steps, that some of our behavior could either destroy or make us. Fine, I know about this before but it re-registers or re-login into my brain that I should be cautious of what I do and when I do it. I should not do things in excess but in moderate that too much of everything is bad. Having a desire to gain is another interesting point. Relating this to my personal experience, I have a target to have my Ph.D in the next five years and be earning good salary, living a comfortable life and affecting others positively above all.

Furthermore, I am been wise now because of the pains I have gone through while growing up. It has made me to be a better person in life. I used to find it difficult to eat three square meal, wear what I want to wear when I want to, live where I want to and go where I want to at a particular point in time. Now, I found it very easy to manage my resources and I hardly run into pains or problems. Having mixed association is another great and excellent point relating it to my personal experience; I found out that when I tried mixing up my friends, there is always a change in my character. There was a time I was moving with some group of friends that smokes and drink heavily. I found out that after sometime, I started drinking, not just drinking but heavily. I later realised it and took to my heels and correct my actions because it was getting out of hand then. My normal I cannot finish a bottle of Guinness stout before but after moving or mixing up my friends, I started taking three to four bottles on a sit. Therefore, mixing up relationships or friends can either mar or made you. I have experienced the two as in negative and positive. It has also helped me in making decision on my finance and relationship that have been finding very difficult to achieve. I am able to state the positive and negative emotions towards achieving my goals and objectives in life.

2. Can you relate the ideas or concepts in this book to your personal circumstance in life such as your relationships, your beliefs, goals and values, etc. Please use personal example in your explanation?

The ideas in the book Giant Steps is unlimited. Some of the ideas that I will relate to my personal circumstances are the following to mention but a few.

How to get what you really want, the power to create and the power to destroy. Questions are the answers, the vocabulary of success. Get the knack of change. Your personal compass.

Relating the idea how to get what you really want to my personal life. I am doing all I can in my academics now to get what I want. What am I saying in essence, I am studying so hard, making sure I am punctual in class and do my assignment up to date. I am presently in 3.25 in my school as the cumulative grade point and I must get to 3.50 to make a 2.1 and not 2.2. This is really a big challenge for me because I know I am a 2.1 candidate. I know quiet well that for me to make a 2.1 I need to have 0.25 and to make this I must put extra effort with prayers. Yes, I know how to get what I want but if I don’t act it will be meaningless; therefore, knowing how to get what you want and taking action goes hand in hand for effectiveness and efficiency.

The second idea is the power to create and the power to destroy. As related to my idea, I believe that it is the mind that maketh good of ill, that maketh wretch or happiness, rich or poor. It is what we think inside that will portray on the outside. That is, everything depends on what we think inside of us that we exhibit. I believe that what really shapes our lives is the meaning we attach to events. That one should not allow a past circumstance to limit todays happiness. The only thing that will make one happy is to use the past experience and what you think inside of you to be stronger, wiser and been able to counsel others who may face the same challenges? And I also belief that one should always be ready to make positive change anytime, anywhere one finds himself. As we know, the beliefs have the power to create and the power to destroy; for us to overcome this, we must understand there three challenges:

* Most of us do not consciously decide what were going to believe.

* Most often, our beliefs are based on a misinterpretation of the past and once we are adopt a belief, we tend o consider it gospel and forget that its only one perspective. In all I am able to learn that it is better to adopt the positive view towards situations and life in general. To my understanding a belief is nothing more than a feeling of certainty about what something means. For example if I believe that I am intelligent, then it is more than just an idea but a believe of certainty. That I am INTELLIGENT, it is very possible to turn idea into a belief if I just provide enough reference experiences to support it.

My own belief towards examination malpractices is negative. I don’t belief it is right to cheat, I belief in proper preparation for examination.

Questions are the answers as related to my relationships, beliefs, goals and objectives. According to Albert Einstein in the book Giant Steps opined that the important thing is not stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing. One cannot help but be in aware when he contemplates the mysteries of eternity of life of the marvelous structure of reality. It is enough if one tries merely to comprehend a little of this mystery everyday. Never lose a holy curiosity.

Questions are the laser of human consciousness. In asking better questions there is usually better answers. Let’s take for example in a true life situations. If one gets to an environment that is totally new from the existing environment one must definitely ask in order not to misbehave or if you are going somewhere and you missed your direction, you are bound to ask questions if not you will mss your way. So, most often question gives answer.

Another point as related to my belief, goals is the vocabulary of success that sometimes in our moments of greatest fear, pain or emotional intensity, we look for relief in the form of a belief. Before now, I had made up my mind that I will not have a relationship with any man again over a hurtful relationship I had some years ago.

I never belief I could. I am now better experienced. Get the knack of change is another point. I will like to relate to my beliefs, relationship and goals. Yes, change is a constant thing in life and everybody is subjected to change. To my personal experience in my relationship, I used to feel I will get married to my first boyfriend I never new I could be subjected to change. Let’s take for example in some situation one tends to bend rules because of change. Furthermore, change is such a great thing because the lifestyle, fashion, politics of last decade is different from this decade own because of change. My manner of reasoning last two years towards things is changed now because I have read so many inspirational books. I now have a new way of reasoning because of change. In conclusion, I see change to be a constant thing because courage unused diminishes; commitment unexercised wanes; passion unexpressed dissipates.

Your personal compass simply explains your personal strategies, your power, authority over things. I have power over everything around, depending on how I exercise the authority over them. This also implies what I belief. Thinking of the far-reaching effects on my life if only I had a stronger sense of certainty to back up my empowering beliefs.

In building my personal compass which is my strategy and beliefs. I usually exercise the following to boost my level of commitment.

* Selecting a belief I wish to rise to the level of commitment because without you committing yourself to a particular belief, there is always what is called change but if one have a strong belief and influence on the particular things; the level of commitment will be high.

* Adding new and stronger references to this belief, for example if you’ve decided never to eat meat again, talk to people who lead vegetarian or vegan lifestyles to discover how this choice has affected them.

* Try to find or create a triggering event that produces strong emotional intensity. For example, if you have owned to give up smoking, visit the intensive care wing of an hospital to observe emphesema patients. Whether your steps are big or small, start acting, on your conviction as a weapon of making a positive change.

3. What are the most important new ideas you learned from this book? Please explain.

The new ideas I learnt from the book Giant Steps is unlimited knowing the secret of success, using Bill Gate as a vivid example. Often we assume that the secret of success is one been a genius. Yet, I believe that the true genius is the ability of an individual to marshal the most potent resources simply by putting ourselves in a state of absolute certainty.

Bill career was launched when he was a college student at Harvard and he promised to deliver software he had not developed for a computer he had never seen. What do I gain from this illustration; simply put I learnt to be optimistic, to have a sense of certainty and to be self-confidence. Because of his certainty, which was completely unfounded, he was able to tap all the resources he needed to successfully co-design the software and begin to build his fortune. I learn that one is more likely to succeed in any arena if only we are not after or committed to achieving a result, but also absolutely certain that one can do it and you should often train yourself to feel empowering emotion.

Another idea that is new to me is that ‘imagination’ is more powerful than knowledge. I began to ask myself how until I proceed with the reading before I could now understand. I am able to denote that time and again has been proven that our brains cannot tell the difference between something we vividly imagine and something we actually experience and once one understands this it can transform one’s life. For example, many people are afraid to try something just because they have never done it before. But I believe that the very foundation of leaders’ success is that, despite the past experiences to the contrary, they repeatedly imagine obtaining their desired results. In this way they forge the sense of certainty that guides them to tap into their true potential. I intend serving in a very good place that will maximize my potential but so many people are discouraging me that it will be difficult but I know that it will come to past because it is a goal I must achieve by God’s Grace.

Another idea that is new to me is that great people are accurate and intelligent so therefore once I can be accurate and act intelligently in my doings, I will be great and I think I am on the right track. Positive perceptions provide them with the emotional support and divine to persist and eventually master the skill. What I learnt here is that is god to be positive minded because the passions to usually give upon the way that there is no intelligent reason to continue a fruitless endeavour to them.

This has always been my attitude because I believe in God and myself so much, I believe whatever I am set out to do will definitely come out well, but haveing read it in the book Giant Steps, I am now empowered the more.

I am meant to understand and believe that achievers usually see problems as transitory while those who fail usually see even the smallest problems as everlasting. That if one persist you will definitely find a way out. That makes me an achiever because I am always face with different problems daily but I see them as making me independent, responsible and sound thereby pushing me to where my success is; because I am always thinking of how to solve the problems and these has made me in no time to be logical in reasoning.

4. Has this book Challenge or Change your thinking in anyway? If so explain.

Yes, it has challenged my thinking and changed my notion about some aspect of my life. Who say I cant become what I want to be. I used to say it because I feel one’s I set a particular time in achieving something and I did not; it is always giving a cause to feel bad and abandoned or forget about the project.

I usually feel I can’t become the minister of sport because it has been my dream. But there is no place I mentioned that; that I am been encouraged. All I hear is it is not possible because they play politics and been a female and I myself always feel since it has not been in the record that someone with a degree of Human Kinetics and Health Education held the post of Sports Minister. But haven read this book. It has awaken my sports towards my dream of becoming the Sports Minister, if possible the first female, Human Kinetics holder Sports Minister. So help me God. I am also challenge to buckle up. That it is not over until is over. I can still make a first class and not second class even with a semester left. I can still get the 0.25 to get to the first class. I also feel can study law because I have a flair for it but I am challenged with different examples and illustration of different great people in the book Giant Steps. I really thank my star for knowing about the leadership school who provide me with the opportunity of getting books like this for free. Thank you, Global Leadership School.

Furthermore, I have always been feeling that its takes or so long for me to achieve what I already set for myself five years ago and I am beginning to get discouraged that all my effort has been a waste or in vain.

But after reading the Giant Steps Book I immediately have a change of heart that I will definitely get to my promise land.

The book has really changed my way of thinking and has added to my reservoir of knowledge. My eyes are also open to so many things that I was not taken cognizance of. At a point in my life; I got tired of life because I felt I have not achieved anything but to the Glory of God to day I know I am an overcomer. Even as they make jest of me in my family that my mates travels in and out of the country that what have I achieved. I know now that the sky is my limit. I too will be traveling for holiday, course outside Nigeria like the United States of America, United Kingdom, France, Canada, Italy when the time comes.

Thanks to the Author of the Giant Steps that once again awaken my spirit that I am one in a million. That I can do all things because I am intelligent, wonderful, beautiful, full of charisma and enthusiasm and above all, I am a Genius and I am born to be great that no one can intimidate me.

5. Are there ideas in the book that you totally disagreed with?

“NO”

6. What did you find most helpful and least helpful in this book?

I found all the points very helpful because they all fit into different areas of life. Every word in the book is inspirational and soul lifting. The book has help me to belief more in myself that I am capable of doing all thing provided I am certain. I think this book is actually meant for me. The book is excellent; it is full of confidence building words. The book took out time to explain in details with illustration on how to achieve greatness and different steps one needs to go through to have a smooth road to one’s destination of success.

7. In 50 words or less, please describe the main idea the whole book is trying to convey.

The book is trying to convey that one has the final decision into become great or not. That in every thing one does, one must first of all be able to make decision and stand by it. After doing this, one must be ready to act positively towards seeing the success of that decision taken. They explain the indepth of pain. How it affects our been successful in life. That achievers don’t see problems as something bad but as a pathway to success. That is as transitory while those who fail usually see even the smallest problems as everlasting. That one should be optimistic and watch the kind of relationship or friends one keeps because mixed friends can either affect one positively or negatively. The great leaders are accurate and intelligent therefore one should try to follow that step. In all, if one is going through pain, one should not see it as feeling trapped rather one should use the pain as one’s strongest ally or weapon of moving forward.

Please rate the following questions on a scale from 1 to 10. Ten is good and one is poor.

REAL MAGIC

Assessment by Aremu Abosede Oluwaseun (Nigeria)

1. What ideas were personally most important to you in this book? Do not simply list the ideas, but explain or discuss why were important to you using personal examples.

The whole book is important to me. Every point in the book Real Magic are personally important. The book made me to understand that those things I found impossible is possible. I am made to understand that deep within me is a unified field of limitless possibilities. That, when I become competent at going to this wondrous place, I will discover an entirely new realm of human experience where all things will be possible. It is here that real magic takes place and I can begin to manifest all I seek in the physical world. At this stage, limits do not exist and you always seem to be at the right place at the right time and unbelievable connection with others and you can almost read the thoughts of those around you. At this point, the misery begins to disappear and your purpose in life becomes very clear to you and everything about you beings to glow and flow.

Understanding the order is another important point. I am meant to understand that it is only mankind and mankind alone can understand that order and it is good for only mankind to understand the order. This thought was a powerful stimulus when problems seems insurmountable. That after understanding it, one can now choose to align with it, that is the context of real magic. The way to understanding is through your willingness to reach your own highest state of awareness, using that awareness to get your life on purpose and radiating that awareness to everyone in your life. It is primarily a mental trip, so powerful that it can affect the material world with its miraculous magical powers. But I must be willing to go within and discover it for myself.

The invisible mental trip involves dispelling some powerful misperceptions and arriving at a new set of knowing, With the new awareness, you will shift; knowing you are limited to knowing that ultimate reality and your own potential are unlimited. Knowing you are controlled by heredity, the environment and supernatural forces, to knowing you create your own reality and that inborn and divine forces work with you rather than independently with you.

Knowing knowledge and experience are available exclusively through your five senses to knowing that an intuitive, invisible guidance is available to you when you reach a higher state of awareness. Knowing all human existence is dangerous and evil to knowing all experience is blessed and for a greater good. Knowing some people are luckier than others to knowing you can create your own luck and that all experience contains available lesson. Knowing life is chaotic to knowing there is order in chaos and there are no accidents in a universe. That is the universe is in perfect order. I learnt that when I put the above into practice, my life would never remain the same again. I am so delighted that I am learning everyday and most especially from the inspirational books I read.

Miracles and purpose is another point I found very interesting. I learnt that when you are at purpose you are truly flowing with life, experiencing a kind of harmony comes from not having to strive for something else. That one will lighten up and figuratively literally. When you go out, you will sense that you are being watched over, and your actions comes from this inner beatitude of rightness or centeredness. In acting out of that inner knowing which constantly reminds you that you are on purpose and that you trust yourself to act out of that purpose, the right thing is all that you can do. One of the greatness lesson I learnt in this book is that I should try and behave in ways consistent with love and harmony and I should not at any time be attached in any way to the fruits of my labour. That, if I can attain this state of grace, my life will become miraculously peaceful. That I should live my life entirely on purpose and renounce any and all credit that may come my way from actions. I should be consistently aware of the need to serve God and to serve others in any and all your actions.

Believing in miracles and real magic is another important lesson. Getting your life to purpose and creating openness to being assisted are crucial to becoming your own miracle worker. Somewhere deep within you, you know that you have Jesus kind of power. Even though you may not have an inkling of how to use it, or how to begin to tap into it, you still know that within each of us is a divine, invisible presence that has something to do with creating a state that can only be described paradoxically as real magic.

In becoming a miracle worker, seven beliefs must be adopted.

The following are the beliefs.

1. There is an invisible but knowable life force within you

2. Your thoughts are something that you can control and they originate with you.

3. There are no limits

4. Your life has a purpose

5. You overcome weakness by living them behind.

6. When you examine what you believe to be impossible, you can then change your beliefs

7. You can go beyond logic.

I don’t know how to thank and appreciate Dr. Wayne W. Dyer for using his talent positively. I am really blessed with the book “REAL MAGIC” and I believe that henceforth-magical things will begin to happen in my life and in his life. Amen.

Our greatest Teacher is another point that I found very important. I never knew about Judaism, Sufism, Buddhism and Confucianism. But now I know about them. All of the great teachers and doctrines including Christianity, Buddhism, Judaism, Islam, Sufism and Confucianism, have left us with a similar message that go within discovering your invisible higher self, know God as the love that is within you. These spiritual masters were all miracle makers. They were here to teach us about the incredible power that resides within each of us. It seems ironic that as a people, we have been obsessed with what divides us, with war and the building of more and more powerful delivery systems of hatred and killing, yet the most influential and revered of the worlds teachings have a message of love. For example:

Christianity: God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.

Buddhism: He that love not, knoweth not God. For God is love.

Judaism: Love is the beginning and end of the Torah.

Confucianism: Love belongs to the high nobility of Heaven and is the quiet home where man should dwell.

Sufism: Sane and insane, all are searching love yawn for Him, in mosque, temple, church alike. For only God is the one God of love, and love calls from all these, each one his home.

Becoming a spiritual being is synonymous with becoming a miracle worker and knowing the bliss of real magic.

Getting yourself aligned with the thinking of spiritual beings is your task, if you truly want to know this illusive thing that I keep referring to as real magic.

That I should try to be a spiritual being because nonspiritual being lives exclusively within the five senses, believing that if you cannot see touch, smell hear or taste something, then that something simply does not exist, the spiritual being knows that, beyond the five physical senses, there are other senses we use to experience the world of form. As you work towards becoming a spiritual being, you will begin to know that there are senses beyond. That the non-spiritual being believes we are alone in the universe. The spiritual being knows he or she is never alone. The non-spiritual being is focused on external power. The spiritual being is focused on personal empowerment. That the non-spiritual being feels separated and distinct from all others, a being unto himself. The spiritual being knows that he is connected to all others and live his life as if each person he meets shares been human with him.

The spiritual being knows the truth of John Donne’s famous lines that “No man is an Island, entire of itself, every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main, if a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe is the less, as well if a promontory were; any man’s death diminishes me, because I am involved in man kind; and therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls, it tolls for thee.

The non-spiritual being believes exclusively in a cause/effect interpretation of life. The spiritual being knows that there is a higher power working in the universe beyond mere cause and effect.

The non-spiritual being is motivated by achievement, performance and acquisitions. The spiritual being is motivated by ethics, serenity and quality of life.

The non-spiritual being has no place within his awareness for the practice of meditation. The spiritual being cannot imagine life without it. For the non-spiritual being, the concept of intuition can be reduced to a hunch or a haphazard thought that accidentally pops into one’s head on occasion. For the spiritual being, intuition is far more than a hunch. It is viewed as guidance or as God talking and this inner insight is never taken highly or ignored. In all, it is good to be a spiritual being for long life and prosperity in God.

2. Can you relate the ideas or concepts in this book to your personal circumstance in life such as your relationships, beliefs, goals and values? Please use personal examples.

My relationship values and goals have always been in the right track. I deal with others the way I will want others to do to me. To my relationship, I do belief I can do all things through Christ Jesus that strengthens me. I do really see myself as an achiever, a success and I do affect others positively to the best of my knowledge. I don’t look down on my relationship or myself because I value what I am and what I have at every point in time. I belief moving with people of the same perspective and if not the same, try to change them to thinking logically and reasonably as possible. I belief in my relationship so much that I in the positive manner. I try to share love, joy and happiness for God is love.

To my beliefs, one that is very certain is change. One must be willing and ready to adapt to situations around. One should be ready to belief that there is a uniqueness in you. That deep within you is a unified field of limitless possibilities. That limit does not exist. I belief I am capable of achieving perfect equilibrium of the mind. Believing and knowing that human existence is dangerous and evil to knowing all experience is blessed and for a greater good. I believe that life is chaotic and there are not accidents in a universe that is in perfect order. I belief in miracles and the invisible.

To my goals, having a good mindset is the key to achieving ones set goals. To achieve the set goals in one’s life after one must have made a decision and act by the decision.

The following are the mindset one should have. It will be pertinent and essential to reserve your judgment and disbelief. When you suspend disbelief there is high tendency of you moving in the right track towards achieving your goals because if not the disbelief and the judgment will hinder your progress.

Practice inner affirmations giving yourself permission to adopt new ideas. In achieving my goals at every point in time I usually adopt new ideas so as to move forward and achieve the set goals.

Keeping one little corner of mind open to miracle making is another point I take cognizance of. I belief in miracles and I usually live a space in my heart to developing it. Discovering the secret that sits in the center and know. I do belief that nothingness has something to offer me in achieving my goals. I practice listening to and following my intuition every day of my life. Developing a new mind set will help in a great deal towards the set goals. The personal formula I have been using and seen in the book is. If I feel it, it is real; because it is real I refuse to ignore.

Back to my relationship, the ability to create magical relationships in your life begins and ends with you if you want to create miracles for yourself and truly live a fulfilled life and self-actualized life you need only accept complete responsibility for how you choose to go about relating to other people with whom you share this divinely perfect planet. Redefining who you are is another thing that makes relationships work. Think positively at all times because there is these philosophy that “As you think so shall you be” real magic in relationships means an absence of judgment of others. You really don’t define others with your judgment. I belief that the quality of ourselves is directly connected to the quality your relationship to the people in our lives. Every relationship life must purposeful for to be meaningful.

Ironically, once you are on purpose in this manner, you will receive a great deal that has largely been missing from your life. Parents that seemed so impossible only yesterday suddenly are no longer judged by you. You send them love, forgiving them for all that you have harboned in your mind, reminding yourself that they did only what they knew how to do given condition so their lives of the time, and no one can ask any more of anyone than that.

Your friendships and business relationships can also improve dramatically with this new giving approach when a conflict arises, you suspend your negative thoughts and instead send out love. In so doing you will change the actual environment from hostility to serenity.

This is how conflicts begin to disappear and solution begin to surface when you respond in an unthreatened manner, and instead communicate an inner knowing in a peaceful loving way, you are incapable of being rattled by challenges. You have created break through and a miracle in that relationship. For success in a relationship one must be ready and willing to relinquish one’s need to be right. To think you should always be right. Be always ready to say you are sorry when you are wrong. Don’t feel to pompous to apologize. Allow space. Let there be space in your togetherness and it is back to loving unconditionally and giving rather than taking. When you love someone for what they are, rather than what you think privacy and space comes automatically. The clinging relationship racked with jealously and fear come from individuals who believe they have the right to dictate what the other person ought to be.

All of us need some time for quiet meditation, contemplation, Making contact with our higher selves, self examination, reading listening, thinking, walking and so on. Solitude can become our most meaningful companion and it can assist you in being a more giving person in your spiritual partnerships. Rather than regarding your partner’s need for time alone a threat, see it as a time for renewal that you celebrate. Eliminating the idea of ownership will also go along way in building and maintaining your relationship.

3. What Are The Important New Ideas You Learnt From This Book? Please Explain.

I can not mention all the new ideas I extracted from the book “REAL MAGIC”. Virtually all the ideas in the book are essential and important. The ideas are too much, educating and inspirational.

I will just explain few of ideas I found most helpful to me. Affirming ability to create happy, fulfilling and unending relationship. I am able to denote that been able to do this, is the most important thing one can do. Know within that if anyone else is capable of been happy and fulfilled in their relationships, that capacity is available to you as well. I intend having a fulfilled marriage. To achieve this, send away the doubt that you cannot do this thing because of others. Once you have removed the doubt, enter your real magic zone. Within one’s mind, one has the freedom to think as one desire.

Think about images of happiness and fulfillment then the universe will provide everything else that you need. Thoughts are extremely powerful things, think of positive things towards your relationship stop pursuing what you do not want. If you do not want conflict and pain in your relationships, keeping mind you are not going to have one and work towards it. Meditating daily on how I want my relationships to be in another great point. Get a picture of yourself acting in new ways toward everyone and ask for divine assistance in being a giver, loving; non judgemental person.

Five aspects of Prosperity Consciousness is another interesting and educating point. To attain a prosperous level or to be prosperous, you don’t need anything else to experience prosperity. Getting rid of a scarcity consciousness means changing the inner pictures that reflect a lack in your life. I am meant to understand that I already have everything that is required to experience prosperity. You cannot create prosperity if you believe in lack.

Believing you have all things by faith will come to past in ones life. I believe right now that everything I need, I already have it. That I am complete right now, I am whole total personal not an apprentice person on the way to someplace else. I belief I am not separated into categories. I am the seer, seeing and the seen. Belief that scarcity is not part of you. Train your mindset to be optimistic that you have all things in Christ Jesus both in the invisible and the visible, spiritual and physical realm. You cannot experience prosperity if you feel you don’t deserve it. Rejoicing in the prosperity of others will quicken your own manifest.

4. Has this book challenged or changed your thinking in any way and, if so, how?

Yes this book has challenge my thinking in so many ways. I never heard of Confucianism, Sufism before. And I don’t really know the meaning of Judaism and Buddhism even though have heard of them before until I read the book “REAL MAGIC”.

Applying the miracle mindset in all your relationships is another point I never knew it exist and I tried the way it is been explained in the book and it worked for me. I am experiencing a new feeling, state in my relationship with people and my partner right now. I am beginning t have a fulfilled and purposeful relationship.

The power mindset has really challenged me because I am able to understand that the mindset of a spiritual being is totally different from the mindset of a non spiritual belief. i can now tune my mindset the way I want it to be. I now understand the visible and the invisible properly even as I have heard of it before.

Using mind to manifest prosperity too has really changed my thinking. That what you can conceive as a picture in your mind, can be created in the physical world, provided you do not let go of the picture. I also learnt that it is more honorable to give than to receive so therefore, I will continue to practice this in my own little way until it is perfected by the grace of God.

That it is good to give something out of nothing and meditating on prosperity quickens it without allowing the picture to fade way. I have a picture of acquiring a land, building a hall on it and guest houses behind it with rental services. I used to feel I cant achieve it, but I now know that it is possible provided the picture persist and not fade away. That it is just a matter of time. That there is no way to prosperity, prosperity is the way.

Personal identity is another point that challenged my thinking that I can choose to have the personality that would most please me. That I can manifest real magic in my own inner life I can become the person I once thought as possible only for others to become. That I already have everything I need to make this happen.

Finally I am challenged in the area of radiating real magic to the world and may god help me in achieving this.

Keys To Success: The 17 Principles Of Personal Achievement

Assessment by Aremu Abosede Oluwaseun (Nigeria)

1. What ideas were personally most interesting to you in this book? Do not simply list the ideas but explain or discuss why they were important to you using personal examples.

Oh! la! la! This is amazing, I am glad with the word you can achieve success in anything you do. All the ideas broke into sub-topics are personally most interesting. The following are the ideas:-

Develop Definiteness of Purpose, Establish a Mastermind Alliance, Assemble an Attractive Personality, Use Applied Faith, Go the Extra Mile, Create Personal Initiative, Build a Positive Mental Attitude, Control your Enthusiasm, Learn from Adversary and Defeat, Cultivate Creative Vision, Maintain Sound Health and the Seventeen Principles of Success.

Developing definiteness of purpose is very important because for one to be great in life one must be purposeful. Definiteness of purpose is the starting point of all achievement and he who lacks purpose in life will lack direction (Aremu Oluwaseun, 2007).

It is good to define your goals and put or assign a time limit to each goal. That for one to be successful one must have a plan for reaching a particular set goal and one must be ready to devote the greatest part of one’s thought and effort towards that direction or end.

I have been cultivating the habit of defining purpose since I started reading inspirational books. Knowing the valuable secret is very essential. According to the author of keys to success, he said in his book that the most important part of this book is not written on its pages but is already in the reader mind. That the ability learn how to harness the tremendous potential of your mind and how to organize the knowledge one already has, you can turn them into the power necessary for attaining our definite major purpose in life.

There is a proverb I learnt in the book that says;

If you will plant for days, plant flowers.

If you will plant for years, plant trees.

If you will plant for eternity, plant ideas.

Putting ideas and definiteness of purpose to work will go a long way.

I am able to understand that definiteness of purpose builds or develops self reliance, personal initiative, imagination, enthusiasm, self discipline and concentrated effort and all these qualities are required for success.

Specialization, budgeting time and money, alertness to opportunity, decision making capability, cooperation, faith, success consciousness are also necessary to be accurate in dealing with the environment which in turn can lead to success. The power of subconscious reflects that any dominating ideas, plan or purpose held in your conscious mind through repeated effort and emotionalized by a burning desire for its realization is taken over by the sub-conscious and acted upon through whatever natural and logical means may be available. That the only thing one has control over is the mental attitude; as well know that the conscious mind is where reasoning and thinking occur. It analyzes information and data and it acts as a guardian of doorway to the sub-conscious.

Putting definiteness of purpose into work is very important, that is, putting your purpose or goals into action. You must be map out strategy or ways of having a head way and be willing and ready to put those things analyzed into actions. Creating a plan is also valuable. To be rich, one must take cognizance of the fact that nothing goes for nothing. Something must go for something, people who have money to give will expect something inn return. Let’s take for example most married rich men likes having an affair with the young ladies. All the rich men want from the ladies is to sleep with them and exchange money in return.

Success is a worthy goal. That striving for success as its detractors. Some people do say that those who are successful achieve their success at the expense of their workers. But if you are going to achieve success, you will do so only by extraordinary effort, effort that most people are not willing to make. You will learn in achieving wealth that success comes about only because you are willing to assume great responsibility and to deliver unfailingly goals and services which are truly valuable. To achieve success one does not have to watch others. If millions of people are struggling to get by on the salaries they earn, it is because their highest aim is only to hold the jobs they currently have. They are where they are and they are making what they make solely because of the limitations they have set up in their minds. There is a theory that says opportunities for success are fewer now than the past. This is nothing that the willingness and readiness to achieve success will set the pace the achieving the success.

In achieving success one must also be able to form a mastermind alliance. In this group of individuals you must be able to determine your purpose, must be ready to go along with others, determine your rewards either it is positive or negative because there are ten basic motives towards action that can be the basis of these rewards. Self-presentation, love, fear, sex, desire for life after death, freedom for mind and body; anger, mate, desire for recognition and self expression and wealth. Wealth will obviously will have the greatest appeal, like if I want to do anything I must first of all look at the reward in monetary value before looking at every other things.

Setting a time and place for meeting is very crucial as too have the interest of members of the Alliance at heart. In the meeting several issues will be discussed as to how to achieve the set goals and objectives. Maintaining the alliance is another good and important aspect of having a group, because it is one thing to form a group of alliance for a particular thing and is another to maintain it. Confidence, understanding, fairness and justice must be involved for a functionable and efficient group.

Assemble an attractive personality is another point, I found very interesting. Positive mental attitude with flexibility and sincerity of purpose, promptness of decision, the habit of smiling, facial expression, tolerance, frankness of manner and speech, a keen sense of humor, faith, sense of justice, sense belongingness and the appropriate use of words. Effectiveness of speech, fondness of people is very important so as to carry people along in every sense. In a group of people that have a common goal; the appointed leader and the member of the committee must be humble in every sense. Having a positive mental attitude is the right mental attitude in any given situation and is most often composed of the plus characteristics symbolized by such words as faith, integrity, hope, optimism, courage, initiative, generosity, tolerance, tactfulness, kindliness and good common sense is essential and pertinent to have a smooth journey to success.

Promptness of decision is also needed because opportunity is everywhere, but it is fleet of foot. Even if you have the vision to recognize it, without a fast decision on your part, it will be gone. In making or trying to suggest a point, there must be respect because the cheapest and most profitable quality in the world is courtesy. It is absolutely free and save for the moment it take to express it. Nowadays, most people find it difficult to express. I have learnt now that it takes nothing to apply or express courtesy in everyday activities.

2. Can you relate the ideas or concepts in the book to your personal circumstances in life such as your relationships, your beliefs, your goals, your values, etc? Please use your personal examples.

There are so many concepts in this book. The concept of definiteness of purpose is very related to my relationship. In any relationship I enter, I am always conscious of the purpose, trying to weigh the loss from the gain. I am always setting standards for myself and taking and standing on whatever decision I choice to take concerning the relationship. I am always definite with the reason of being in the relationship. There are different purposes of having a relationship, it might be because of influence, good financial stance, knowledge, marriage and among others. I have been in different relationship for different purposes.

Flexibility is another concept that is very important in order for one to move forward. One does not have to be too rigid; but that does not mean that one will be loose but it will be done accurately and intelligently in order to win the race.

Tolerance is also another great idea. I have always been finding it difficult to tolerate people because there are some people that will definitely stand on your toes even if one is trying to tolerate them. Let’s take for example my house, I am used to buying my toiletries and keeping them in my wardrobe for my own usage along because it is what have been used to when the family was large. Now that all my elder ones have gotten married and I am now the eldest in the house, my Mum and my younger ones always expect me to buy the toiletries and provision and keep for the whole house. I found this very difficult to do because it was not like that I was growing up. The only thing my elder sister would buy for the house is the toothpaste and probably food stuff. But nowadays, my younger ones expect one to buy perfume, beverages, etc, and keep for the house. I used to find it difficult. As in, I find it difficult to tolerate this but now I can now adjust and tolerate it in my own way and may God continue to bless me so that I will just overlook it. Even to the outside world it is very essential and pertinent to be able to tolerate others. Since I am into sport, I have always been founding myself in the midst of different people good bad and ugly and have always been trying to tolerate them to the best of my knowledge. But having read this book, I think I will improve. It can be very difficult to tolerate others but somehow it is important to be tolerance.

The appropriate use of word is very important. It is not everybody that knows how to talk. Most people does not have manner of approach but I think I do; because I don’t want anybody to approach me in a rudely manner therefore I must know how to approach one in an appropriate manner.

The usage of unclean languages is very bad. Usage of vulgar words and I think this is common among the upcoming ones because of the influence of the environment. From the ages 8 – 18 now are so rude in their approach. The level of morality is depreciating compare to when I was between ages 8 and 18. I really do respect whatever is older than me even if is a day. But nowadays, the reverse is the case. I am always careful in my relationship with people. Emotional control is another good idea that needs to take cognizance of most especially by me. Much of what we do is directed by our feelings. Since our feelings can lift us to great achievements or hurt us down to defeat, we owe it to ourselves to understand and control them. In most cases, ones emotions act negatively towards goals, purpose and our relationship in life. Some of the negative emotions are fear, hatred, anger, creed, jealousy, revenge, superstition.

Fear is evil oriented. Because, once one begin to fear a particular thing, that means the thing might not come out well because of fear. In most cases, I am always having fear that how do I achieve these set goals and this is usually a bad omen. I also have phobia for water which till today as made me unable to swim. Having hatred for a fellow being is also not a good emotion, because the bible says, love your neighbour as yourself. In all the negative emotion is bad and it hinders promotion in life.

The positive emotions are love, sexuality, hope, faith, sympathy, optimism and loyalty. These are good fruits.

3. What are the most important new ideas you learned from this book? Explain.

The most important new ideas are understanding, infinite, intelligence, overcoming disbelief, overcoming fear, replacing fear with hope and demonstrating the power of your faith.

In understanding infinite of intelligence; it is impossible to have active life without wisdom. Wisdom comes from the understanding of intelligence. For one to be intelligent and have an understanding which is wisdom, one must belief in the Supreme Being because he is the one that gives all knowledge, wisdom and understanding. In believing in a Supreme Being, there are so many approaches to gaining such a belief. Observation experimentation, feeling, prayer, meditation and thought, all are legitimate paths. One learns things in different ways. You learn things by seeing their effects or by accepting the statements of people you trust. In your search for knowledge about infinite intelligence, you may search within the external universe or within yourself. As Tennyson wrote “the sun, the moon, stars, sea, the hills and the plains are not these O soul the vision of him who reigns”. Look at the wrist watch on you arm. You know equally well that this human intelligence did not originate in that single mind but that it was merely an instrument expressing the force of the natural order of the universe. If the parts of the watch are put into an hat, never will they re-assemble and become a watch unless a deliberate organized intelligence with a definite plan. Like a watch the universe simply could not exist as it does without being the product of an infinite intelligence.

Your conscience is a tool which puts you in touch with these forces, similarly, when you engage in prayer, you explore this two internal world. It is the power of these experiences that shapes lives again and again. This ability of the human mind to discover, embrace and disseminate fundamental ideas and concepts is further proof of our ability to enter into a definite, positive relationship and adapt it to your purposes in life. This is accomplished by applied faith.

Overcoming disbelief is another new idea that I have learnt while reading this book. Having known and understand the meaning of faith. Faith is a state of mind which develops by conditioning your mind to receive infinite intelligence. Applied faith is the adaptation of the power of infinite intelligence to your major definite purpose. Applied faith is the dynamic of the science of personal achievement. The source of energy to put your thought into action. Faith is your awareness of, belief in, and harmonizing with the universal powers. You should not simply have faith, you must use it. Faith can also be a state of mind, for it to be useful to one in achieving lasting success. As we know that active faith is the process of relating yourself to the vital forces of the world, which I call infinite intelligence. Whatever one’s mind can conceive and belief it can achieve. Therefore, do not allow self-imposed limitations and restrictions to block the flow of infinite intelligence.

One should endeavour to clear the mind of all negative thoughts of want, poverty, fear, ill health and disharmony and then take these three easy steps to build your faith and overcome disbelief.

1. Express a definite desire for the achievement of a purpose, and relate it to one or more of the basic human motives.

2. Create a definite and specific plan for attaining that desire.

3. Start acting on that plan, putting every conscious effort behind it. The more you act on faith in infinite intelligence, the more your mind will open to its power. And the more you see the power working in your life, the easier it will be for you to action faith. The process is a wonderful cycle.

When you face a problem or question, you can put this fledgling faith into action. Your subconscious has already been conditioned by your acting on faith to believe tat you will succeed.

In all, if you make your prayers an expression of gratitude and thanksgiving for the blessings you already have instead of requests for things you do not have, you will obtain result much faster. Good point. I am so happy to have learnt that we should appreciate more than we complain. Overcoming fear is another new idea, dis-inhibiting those things that are ridding your mind of fears which limit your belief. There are seven basic fears tat I learnt in this book and I am meant to understand that nearly everybody suffer from at least one of these fears.

The first fear is “POVERTY”. This is the most destructive of the seven basic fears and the hardest one to master, because it brings so much suffering and misery. May we all be free from suffering and miseries in the name of Jesus, amen. If you resent poverty and are determined to get rid of it. Analyze yourself fully for signs of this fear. In fighting this, it will be necessary to have an ambition. Don’t accept whatever life hands out without challenging it. Don’t be lazy physically and mentally. Try to adopt a positive driving ambition to vanquish this symptom of the fear of poverty.

Avoid accepting other peoples’ decisions over your life. Failure to make your own decision can cause so many disasters. DO not render the precious gift of your creator useless. Make your own decision and become elf determining. Avoid making excuses for your failure. Accept hat only you are responsible for what happens o you.

Stop having a negative mental attitude. This is the greatest limitation the fear of poverty imposed and it can encompass all the others. Avoid or discard permission, except that things will go your way and act accordingly. Do not put things off, avoid responsibility, or live beyond your means, instead, work to make your life better and it will be.

Developing definiteness of purpose is the first step toward replacing a negative mental attitude because absolute power corrupt absolutely and try to replace it with positive mental attitude.

The second fear is criticism. More insidiously, criticism can prevent you from presenting and acting on ideas that are revolutionary, ideas that would give you independence. It robs you of your individuality and your faith in yourself.

To eliminate fear of criticism, the following must be strictly taken care of. Keeping up with the current situations, trying to maintain the front of being the most current, most affluent person on the block can cripple you, both financially and emotionally. Bragging about your achievement, take pride in what you have to avoid your feeling inferior.

Being easily embarrassed will not allow you to be able tot make strong decisions and lack self confidence. Determine that whatever you do in pursuit of an honorable definite purpose is worthy Fear of criticisms is a common fear. If you let it, it will sap your initiative and imagination.

The third fear is ill health. Remember that whatever your mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve.

4. Has this book challenge or change your thinking in any way. If so explain?

This book has challenge my thinking in all ramification. That when I make definite decision once, I am able to make a purposeful decision and standing by it. Try to be responsible for whatever action taken by me whether it yields positive results or negative results. The road to success is narrow and to walk through it, you must be able to think accurately and intelligently. That I should not be feeling inferior, that, I should stand on my feet with self-esteem and confidence in my situation I found myself. I learnt to be tolerance and be appropriate in approaching people.

I am challenged with the word “Go the Extra Mile” that rendering more services that is paid for is very good because sooner or later I will receive compound interest from your investment. Going extra mile is not the sort of principle that can be put into practice in a few easy steps. Instead, it is a state of mind that you must develop, so that it will be a part of you and it can be applied in everything you do.

Creating personal initiative is another topic that challenge my thinking. That means I still have to sit myself down and try to innovate and invent something new. Something that is not in existence, a new fashion of things. Putting my personal initiative to work will go along way. I am more enlightened that personal initiative creates more opportunity and work. Therefore, if I can create personal initiative or develop any initiative the sky will be my limit.

5. Are there ideas in the book that you totally disagree with?

“NO”

6. What did you find most helpful and least helpful?

Helpful in this book?

I found all the points broken into sub-topics in chapters very helpful and interesting. Every word in the book is inspirational and educative. Having sense of direction and promptness in making decision which is the first step in achieving success. The book actually go in depth on how to achieve success and maintain it. I am able to denote that it is good to be tolerance, caring, and say no to all the negative emotions. Henceforth, I will do away with all the negative emotions and embrace positive emotions. I learnt different ways of fighting poverty and the rest. That I should be careful and watchful because whatever happens is my wish since I have thought of it before doing it. That I should be ready to be responsible. Therefore, now that I know this, I will be careful in all things I found myself doing. Acting and been consistent on any decision taken. That I should not allow anybody to make decision for me. Not allowing others to influence my life negatively.

Humility is another point that is very helpful to me. Even the bible supports the meek and renounces the proud; therefore I will watch my character towards that aspect henceforth. That I can be whatever I want to be if I am willing and ready and creating a positive attitude. Budgeting time, energy and money is another helpful point self analysis techniques, perfecting personality, making good health a habit, etc.

7. In 50 words or less, describe the main idea the whole book is trying to convey.

In summary, I am able to denote from the book that you become what you want to become by yourself. That it is only if you decide not to pinpoint the purpose of whatever you find yourself doing that you will end up loosing. But if you do identify the purpose of your been into something; then you will have a head way. Being prompt about making decision and following it up is very essential. Building yourself physically, mentally, psychologically and emotionally is important. Having faith and working according to it and believing that there is a Supreme Being that gives knowledge, understanding and wisdom. Following the different techniques of analyzing yourself, that creativity will open doors for opportunity and work.

WHAT TO SAY WHEN YOU TALK TO YOURSELF

Assessment by Aremu Abosede Oluwaseun (Nigeria)

1. What ideas were personally most important to you in this book? Do not simply list the ideas but explain or discuss why they were important to you, using personal examples.

So many things were personally most interesting to me like how my thinking can affect me positively or negatively depending on the thought. I am meant to understand that I should learn the right words, use them and make success a permanent way of life with what to say when you talk to yourself. Looking for a better way is one of the topics I found very educative and interesting. I am meant to understand that one is everything one choose to be. You are as unlimited as the endless universe. In life, I belief in searching for knowledge and truth. Studying human behaviour is very important so as to cope with the rigors of life. Because it is not by earning degrees, and another thing that is very important is motivational marketing. It teaches one what makes people do what they do even when they don’t want to do it. When I completed by final course work, it was my final opinion that you can never really get anyone to do anything they don’t want to do unless you use force and force in most of the free world is called advertising. I have learned that I can be hypnotized, processed or reborn. I know that I can attend seminars which will give me the answer to rigors of life. I can become a goal-settter and a true achiever I can learn to organize my day, set my priorities and accomplish more than I ever dreamed possible. I can learn to think positively, be more creative relate to others and become centred. I have leaned that success more as Jesus taris: all I have to do is accept my destiny of achievement and greatness. I have heard great words of wisdom, inspirational books and been told I can change anything I choose to change in my life. As much as I have been a student of success, I have also been skeptic. For as much as I psyche myself up that I can do all things and I can become whatever I want to do through Christ Jesus I will.

I am meant to understand that the human brain, that incredibly powerful personal computer control centre that each of us is capable of doing for you anything reasonable that you will like it to do. But you have to know how to treat it. If you treat it just right and carefully give it the right direction. It will do the right things it will work for you in the right; but, if you give your mental computer the wrong directions, it will act on those wrong directions; it will continue to respond to the negative programming that you and the rest of the world have been giving it without even being aware of it. I learnt not to give room to any discouraging factor negative programming in which we receive from the members of the house in most cases. That our failure in life is not because we are not good but it is as a result of bad programming. At the same time medical researchers have said that as much as seventy-five percent of all illnesses are self-induced. That one should have self image and believe you are worthy to do anything, by this, we will began to live out the picture of ourselves we had created in our minds. That even if we have had it rough in the past, we should try and erase the negative programming that made us fail and replace it with a different programming.

Another interesting point is that, as a man thinketh so is he. Have you ever considered just how much of what you do, how you act, how successful you are is dependent on the conditioning, the programming you received from others and on the conditioning you subsequently bought and kept giving yourself. It is impossible for any of us to do anything, no matter how insignificant without being affected by our conditioning. Every step you take, move you make or word you say is affected. It follows that if every action you take, of any kind is affected prior programming, then the end results of your actions are stored equally affected. How successful you will be at anything is inexorably tied to the words and beliefs about yourself that you have stored in your subconscious mind. I learnt that you will become what you think about yourself most. Your success or failure in anything large or small will depend on your programming. What you accept from others and what you say when you talk to yourself matters a lot. It is no longer a success theory. It is a simple, but powerful fact. Neither luck nor desire has the slightest thing to do with it. It makes no difference whether we believe it or not. The brain simply believes what you tell it most. And what you tell it about yourself it will create. It has no choice. What you think you become. It has been proved that it is not impossible to live a full rewarding life day in and day out. Its just highly unusual. It is not that we can not be successful and live a great life but exciting ideas, great break through and inspiration for the mind which seemed to offer so much became once read books sitting or forgotten on a shelf. The reason for this is somehow connected to our individual differences and programming.

2. Can you relate the ideas or concept in this book to your personal circumstances in life such as your relationships believe goals and your values. Please use your personal examples in your explanations.

The ideas in the book “what to say when you talk to yourself”. Relating the programming of mind to my relationship is what I will want to discuss first. In every relationship I found myself I have always had this mind set of do unto others what you want to be done to you. I try as much as I can to be logical and I never for once feel my relationship will not work because even if it seems not to be working, I usually make it work with the knowledge and truths of life; I have gathered in different inspirational books that I have read. I belief in the mind set towards a particular thing for whatever one thinks on the inside is what will manifest on the outside and in most cases on the action of the person. It is certain that in relationship sometimes one tend to loose focus but what I have come to overcome over these years been able to maintain test of time, no matter the situation of things. Most people do not really know the value of friendship. I see friendship to be valuable. The simple techniques of self talk can also help in building friendships and you believing that your friendship can work and if you believe that you can achieve whatever you desire in life even as you have set out your goals you will. I am contesting for a counselor in my ward under Mainland Local Government right now as in for the next dispensation. When I first had the desire to make my intentions known to the council members in my ward, some of the women there tried discouraging me but I said to myself that I will take the bold step and I did. Now I am among the female aspirants in the whole of 11 wards in the local government in which I fall under Ward H. Since I have the ambition to be minister of sports in Nigeria, I thought of how to achieve my dream and I felt the right step is to go into politics. What I am trying to draw out here is that saving a mission, ambition, and this must be followed with action. Therefore for whatever aspiration we have when we discuss it with ourselves and believe that it will work out to our own advantage and so shall it be in Jesus name.

Let me sight another example that is related to my academics. When I was writing first semester examination year IV, I had it in mind of scoring nothing less than 4-points in each of my courses or 5-points which is the highest score known as the distinction point, when the result came out I had what I have desired and professed with dean of hardwork by studying so hard, and that result really boost my (CGPA from 3.10 to 3.25). I have always known from the past experience that it is good to profess good to yourself instead of having and professing negative things. Ever since then I have always profess positive things to myself even if it seems difficult. Like the ambition to be a counselor in my local government seems difficult but I know that I have a seat in the local government and I will get there by the grace of God, Amen. I really don’t run from challenges, I face it even as it seems cloudy now for me to have a first class in school but I will try my best in this final semester examination. I haven’t given up because I believe in myself that I can do it with God’s help and greater is he that’s in me than he that is in the world and the God I have is a God of impossibility. Having positive mental attitude towards everything you find yourself doing is also a good thing, be it project, name it. Before you know it, you will just find out that you are having an headway. Think of good, profess good and good will always be yours (Aremu Abosede, 2007).

To my values in life, as it is known that as a man thinketh so is he. Lets take for example a master holder that does not value what he has, so also will an outsider not value that individual because he as already lost self value and esteem. Valuing your potential and talent is also very important. If one has talent and you don’t value it most definitely the outsider will not value nor appreciate the talent in you. Therefore there is need to build yourself worth and add value to spice up what you have got. Maximize your potential add value to it.

3. What are the most important new ideas you learned from this book? Please explain

I learnt so many things in the book “what to say when you talk to yourself”. I learnt to have self worth and self-esteem believing that you can be whatever you want to be in life. Believe that you are worth of happiness and success as anyone. Believe and talk to yourself that you are worthy in your own way and you can make positive things happen regardless of how you may feel different from others. That you must learn self trust which is the ability to feel positive, responsible and in control of what takes place as you try to test your limits.

Apparently, I am meant to understand that one should be aware that self-esteem or lack of it, is the root of all behaviour both negative and positive. There is nothing like self-esteem because it is inevitable and one spends most of the time with one self. Self esteem is made up of self worth and self trust, self worth is simply the feeling of being glad with one self. Self trust is the functional believe in your own ability. Being able to positively and effectively control what happens to you in a world of uncertainty depends on the psychi you give to yourself, when you talk to yourself. One should realize that no opinion and no judgement is vitally important to your own growth and development as that which you hold of yourself. I am able to denote that the most important meeting, conversation, briefings and lectures one will ever have are those that one hold in the privacy of your own mind. That you should try more effort to feel good about yourself and belief that you are the best creature in the human race. Realize that once and for all you hold the key to your personal success and happiness even failure. It is also vital to also have control over thoughts, emotions, actions and I have learnt a great deal by allowing it to affect my life as a whole. Belief and say to yourself when you talk that you are a good, valuable and worthy person. Trust and belief in your self that you are capable of setting out goals and achieving it within stipulated time without a shift. That you should be able to stand and be responsible for whatever actions you might have taken either positive or negative. I learn from problem and setbacks and through them I can find opportunity for improvement and growth even when I talk to myself. Belief that your spirit man mind and body are powerful team that should be ready to let loose and set to excel. Know that you are your own coach and best friend because when you talk to yourself, you encourage yourself and you are also supportive and respectful. That one should try to give thanks and be happy in all situation. GOAL SETTING 101

Assessment by Aremu Abosede Oluwaseun (Nigeria)

1. What ides were personality most important to you in this book? Do not simply list the ideas but explain or discuss why they were important to you using personal examples.

Almost all the points stated out were very important. I am grounded out the fundamentals of success. I never come across the twelve fundamentals of success ever since have been reading. I am so excited that I have to the opportunity to read the book goal setting 101. I am meant to understand the meaning of a goal and how it can work for me. Having a direction and action will come when one has ascertained the specific goal. Knowing the three key elements of a goal will also help in achieving a set goal. Once a goal can be known to be a specific measurable accomplishment to achieved within a specific time frame knowing and understanding the essence of a goal settings is another aspect I found very important.

I have learnt from time being that goal sets a direction for once life. It makes life meaningful. Lets take for example of my life. I have set a goal of becoming a graduate at twenty three. I tried working towards passing my university entrance examination immediately I finished my high school but I couldn’t until two years later. What I am saying in essence is that goal setting is very important because even if it does not work right in time you want it, it will still work.

Having a focus when a goal is been set is also important it is also pertinent to know that goal identify results, if no goal exists, how do you measure your progress. It was because I had set a goal of going into the university that I am able to achieve my goal. Now I am a graduate. Goal challenge you to grow if I never set a goal how do I pass the level of a school certificate holder. I am now setting another goal of working before my service year which is next year so that I can save some money for my masters degree. Can you hear that; I am already thinking of becoming a master holder. It is all about having a dream, setting a goal and working towards it. I dream a lot and I set go a lot that way I will achieve greatness and be successful before I clock 30 years. I have two goals now, masters or MBA and studying to a Ph.D level. That is having my Doctor degree at most thirty two. I have come to realize that goal setting improves self image. It improve one today and makes one feel better for tomorrow. I have confidence because I have a goal. My frustration is lowered immediately when vagueness and doubt have been replaced by focus and concentration. Setting a goal is the first positive and obvious step to success.

Having and developing a vision is another interesting and important aspect if one wants to be successful.

A vision is a way of seeing or conceiving what you want to achieve in the nearest future. Before one does any planning in life is to first of all have a vision. How can one plan without knowing what you envision for your life? It is just going to be like a trip without knowing your destination, purpose of the trip and the expected outcome of the trip.

In order for a vision to be translated into action, it must be shared with people with like minds, that is people who will be impacted by its. External body cannot help you to achieve your goal except of cause they know and understand why your vision is important. To achieve your vision it is essential that your vision should be understood, shared, accepted and lived by every individuals who plays a role in making it a reality.

Another vivid example is a vision of a New Nigerian Dream that 11GL students in Nigeria are working on right now. We have a vision and a mission, because vision and a mission works together because if a goal is a specific, measurable and time bound accomplishment that an individual or group of people wants to achieve, then a mission is an umbrella under which you place your goals and related actions.

A mission statements interprets and enables you to clarify your purpose for yourself an others who are interested. A mission statement is a declaration of who you are, why you exist and what you intend to accomplish in life.

Another of a goal also throw more light on the world “Goal”. The anatomy states what why and how which is being interpreted as a goal itself, benefits of the goal and the strategy one needs to achieve the goal. The what provides direction the why provides fuel to reach the goal and how is the man that provides the mile markers for achievement.

Accepting power of choice is also very important. I am meant to understand and that “No decision is difficult to make if you get all the facts.

Respecting reality and facing fact will also help one to be successful in life. Don’t shy away from the truth because the truths with always prevail. It is also wise and reasonable to be authentic. It is all about ownership and authenticity. If a goal is truly your own, your will take pride it. If it is a watered down, hand me down from someone else’s vision, you will forever experience a value conflict.

Covering the ten crucial life dimensions is very important to be successful and achieve greatness. Values lay the groundwork or foundation for your goals. Goals leads to the fulfulment of your mission. Your mission leads to the realization of your lifes work-your legacy. I am meant to understand that every area of an individuals life needs attention one needs to set goals. Areas like personal life, health, recreation, family, friends, community, career, financial, household and spiritual.

Henceforth I will set more goals on these areas.

Making everything count will also move one forward because it is a philosophy of living. Its meaning is simple, yet powerful. Every thought decision and action moves you closer to or further from your goals. Taking cognizance of everything courts. Pursuit of your goals is counselling. Each step of offers an opportunity for growth, learning and self-improvement. The examined life is the one worth living. Make everything count!

2. Can you relate the ideas or concept in this book to your personal circumstances in life such as your relationships, beliefs, goals and your values. Please use your personal example in your explanations

The ideas in the book Goal setting 101 is very capturating and soul yearning relating. Respecting ones right and Responsibilities to my relations hips is what I will want to discuss first. In every relationship I found myself, I try to give the other party equal right, priviledge and responsibility as I have so that there wont be a case of one been partial. Every one is given equal opportunity, honor to set and achieve a goal. I try not to be selfish, give my partner the room to be happy, successful and be prosperous.

Try to be understanding, humble and patient. Assist the person to pursue his goal if I can and help follow through on all his commitment and I expect the same because it takes two to tangle for a relationship to be successful. If one is serious about making and wanting a relationship to work aspect each other’s rights and responsibilities. As related to my beliefs, I belief that for one be successful in life, one has to be humble, logical and straight forward. I don’t belief in lies, deception and keeping malice.

One should have an open heart because everything counts. I belief in setting goals and taking possible actions where and when necessary. I belief in asking myself the six important Goal setting questions which are who, what, where , when, how and why.

I also belief that you become whatever you want to become that one is not poor because God wants one to be poor, so also that, you do on to others what you want to be done to you. As regards my goals and values. I have a goal of having my masters and Ph.D immediately after my youth service next year and my values are assets of life and not liabilities it is known that as a man thinketh so is he I place value on myself because I know that I am full of potential. I try to maximize my potential and add value to it so that it becomes valuable.

3. What are the most important new ideas you learned from this book? Please explain

I learnt so many things that cannot be emphasized. I learnt the twelve fundamentals of success. That explains understanding the meaning of Goals and knowing why Goal setting is important. Having a visions, mission and developing to creating a mission statement and knowing the anatomy of a Goal and making it to work for you. Having and accepting power of choice. Respecting reality and facing facts is also very important. Be Real and Authentic never be an important. Cover the ten crucial life Dimensions and make everything count. Respect your rights and responsibility is very important.

Planning one’s way to success is also an interesting topic I found very inspirational and Educative. Knowing the purpose of planning will make one plan accordingly and in the right proportion. I am meant to understand that planning helps one to analyse where you are and can point the way of where you want to be. It helps in direction and re-direction if one lacks directions. It helps in determining the career one might want to going to and the best way to enter and conduct the career. Helps to operate your career or business and can be used to raise money and enhance credibility. It enables one to be outstanding and be known with an individual with a purpose. It project expectation and the direction one is taking and is to take. This is beautiful as it helps in monitoring performance. Another interesting idea I extracted or learned from the book is that one fit plans so circumstances and not fit circumstances into plans. That the difference between success and failure depends on the ability or lack of it to do just that. That the effective goal setter is not content to make the most of what happens to come his way. They device, invent and create situations tailored to their strength. This is the essence of proactivity: creating circumstance rather than merely responding to them. That practicing spontaneity is very crucial. That the part of achieving a goal is being sensitive and open to what fortune and circumstance have to offer and dating advantage of these opportunities when they present themselves not before and certainly not after.

Value spontaneity. That goal setting involves valuing and establishing a delicate balance between planning and improvisation. What should never be left to chance however, is the ability to execute any plan. Logistics, support and training should be thoroughly fixed and completely reliable. I learnt the personal planning is very important out of life, the quality of the life you want and this should reflection in your planning. It is important to build a platform of choice and not simply accepting what life throws at you. It is essential to know what your working platform is in order to develop purposeful. I learnt not to ever stop planning. Planning must be done, analysed, re-planning must be done again. Most people plan on annual basis, but there is nothing sacred about this time. Writing down of goals is also essential as it gains credibility. Writing something down is the first step toward achieving it. Don’t make the mistake of thinking you can keep your goals in your head. For goal setting to be tangible, have value goals must be written down. It is only be writing down your goals that you are able to look back and determine if you have done what you planned to do!

Try to be informed at all times. Information is money for there is an adage that says the only thing that makes an individual to be richer than the other is the information”. Therefore, either positive or negative information be vital to be heard. Devoting time to preparations directly related to a goal dran operation is essential. Be prepare well enough, deeply and thoroughly in advance. The use of SWOT analysis is also an essential tool you will find useful for immediate and effective analysis of a given situation.

SWOT stands for Strength, Weakness Opportunities and Threats. Executing one’s way to success is another educative topic I found interesting. To be successful and be great one needs to take a bold step of acting like a leader. The first rule of personal leadership is to act as if you are a leader because you are. I have learnt to lead than to push because it is easy to lead than to push. The primary criterion of any leader is to achieve the goal, whatever it may be. Build your life on a permanent recording accomplishment.

One must learn to practice speed, simplicity and boldness. All statements of mission and vision should be simple no matter how complex the goal may be. But simplicity is only possible if you thoroughly understand your mission purpose, objectives and goals.

Act in a way that recognizes that any action has potentially momentous consequences, the full import of which will not be immediately apparent. The goal make boldness a matter of routine. Be careful of everything you do because it is not what you say that destroy you but what you do. Do the right thing. Ultimately, our actions are of greater consequence than our words. Say what needs to be said; then act accordingly.

Go, the extra mile in achieving one’s set goals is also required to achieve success. Doing more than is required is needed ion life to be outstanding, Advancement only comes with habitually doing more than you are asked. Having a time limit, a deadline for your set goal is essential. Try to implement or execute the plans made on the set goals and there after you can perfect those action or plans. Been focus is another essential thing in everything one does in life. If there is no focus there can never be a good result lets take for example put a thread into the needle requires focus if one is not focus, the thread will not enter or go through the tiny hole of the needle.

4. Has this book challenge or change your thinking in any way? if so explain.

I am also challenge in the area of everything counts before. The book has really changed my thinking because there are so many are as of life that can enhance my fulfilling my vision when I set my goals, plan, implement now and perfect later. I now have full understanding of goal setting.

GOAL MAPPING HOW TO TURN YOUR DREAMS INTO REAL

Assessment by Aremu Abosede Oluwaseun (Nigeria)

1. What ideas were personally most important to you in this book? Do not simply list the ideas but explain or discuss why they were important to you using personal examples.

According to the author of Goal mapping the laid emphasis on the fact that life is a Goal. I am meant to understand that all of life has a goal – it’s the drive of evolution, the urge to grow and become more. Relating this to my own personal examples. I started my life somewhere in the urban area of Ogun State and I had a goal of living the city to a larger city which is Lagos in my own understanding then. I really never had tough opposition where I was then and since I want to achieve greatness because I know for sure I am born to be great I worked on the goal and I started my secondary education in my dream land which is Lagos-state and I eventually go into playing table where I broaden and worked more on the dream I had while I was in Ogun-state. I started playing the game and I was excelling to God be the glory. To cut the long story short, I always set a goal for my life because if I fail to plan, that mean, I will definitely plan to fail. Therefore, I usually plan for me to be successful so that I can have a meaningful life. One thing I belief is that we were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It is not just in some of us, it is in every one of us. Have also come to realize with some of the inspirational books that have read that we are co-creators with God, not puppets on a string waiting for something to happen. Another example I will like to sight is that I used to have a friend in the table tennis circle and while the going was good in the game. I was always telling her of my goal to pass my examinations and go to the university to further my education but she was always talking about playing table tennis and galanvanting around. I really think God that I focused on my Goal and now I am a graduate she is just there with nothing and she keeps calling me even when I am busy with my books or other things. So what I am trying to say in essence is that Goal setting is the major difference that makes the difference, it was because I set a goal some years ago that made me to be different from that my friend. I am so happy that once again I have the opportunity to read books that are soul lifting and have come to realize lately that there is nothing like feeding your spirit even as you feed your self with food. Occasionally I meet people who hold the view that goal setting is reserve only for those that want to fast-track their career or increase their wealth; but the reality is that more people than ever are setting goals consciously to improve every of aspect of themselves, their lives and their environment.

A couple of years ago I saw a friend become completely empowered when he left his corporate job and set a personal goal to do something for the environment by reading landfill. More people that I know I becoming philanthropically driven and set goals to the charities, raise funds and run sponsored marathons, I do these too in my own little goals because I have had the opportunity to see people been in trouble and when they decide to set a goal; the situation turns around. One thing have come to realize about goal setting is that when you set a goal on a particular something, and when you are pursuing that something great, it draws out your own personal greatness. I have now cultivate the habits of writing down my goals after haven read Goal mapping book because the discipline of writing something down is the first step toward making it happen.

I also learn to condition my subconscious for success and I know that by doing this I will achieve untold wonders. One of the most important aspect of goals-setting and the reason it works is the nature and working of your subconscious mind. Although, the subconscious mind does most of the work , the conscious mind has the responsibility of choosing the direction or target for example, trying your shoelaces is quite a complex process, but once your master it, it becomes automatic sub-conscious activity. All we need to do is to set the mind to think consciously about what we want to set the process in motion. Your subconscious aims to help you flourish in life, maintain well being and achieve your every ambition. Another thing that have come to realize is that it is not what you are that holds you back, it is what you think you are not. That every thought one think is taken as a command by one’s subconscious, but it’s one’s strongest thoughts that be come true goals. Whao, I am so excited that the more I can dream the more I can do and more forward.

2. Can you relate the ideas or concept in this book to your personal circumstances in life such as your relationships, beliefs, goals and your values. Please use your personal examples in your explanation.

The fear of rejection is what I will want to relate to my relationship with people. One of man’s most basic needs to be accepted. I learnt at an early age that it is not always pleasant to step outside of the norm or to be too different, and risk being rejected by the majority. I used to have the distorted belief that if I set aspirational goals for myself, that my friends may ridicule me it was later that I realized that such friends of mine are rare real for friends and the usual reason for their negativity is that my goals are a reminder to them that they are not actually doing much with their own life.

So, I later overcome these fear by not telling them of my goals and I tried to look out for real friends that I can shape it with because every time you tell someone about your goal, you are reinforcing your positive message to your subconscious genic. Thus to be independent of public opinion is the first formal condition of achieving anything great. To my beliefs and values in life. I belief in trying to achieve something because if you are sacred of been hurt or embarrassed, it means you never want to take any chances. I belief that when one makes a mistake one should not feel bad or try to dine on it but think of the best way forward because mistakes are lessons of wisdom. The past cannot be changed but the future is yet in trying be cause one never know what he can achieve until you try. Reach for the stars and you may only set to the moon, but it is still a great step who knows while trying you may reach the stars next time then you become a success in that area. The fact of the matter is that all success is built on failure. The past and the present do not equal the future. Failure is only failure when no lesson is learnt. I belief that for every attempt that goes wrong valuable feedback is gained therefore I value setting goals and working on them. Like the goal of becoming the reset counsellor in area. I had already kill the spirits of fear and I belief that there is no harm in trying. I never let the shadow of my failure block the sunlight of success. I also value my heart and instinct because working with heart enables me to find an extra energy, a special magical energy that helps me to flow in whatever I choose to do I also value love because al emotions empowers intention and love is the most powerful creative force of all. I also don’t see mistakes as problem, because things turn out best for the people who make the best of the way things turn out. Like I said earlier I cherish love because it is the greatest science in the world, in heaven and on the earth is love. I have come to realize that of all the music that reached farthest into heaven. Love is the prime nurturer of the self and life.

To my goal, I do not belief in failure so therefore I set goals and I see them achievable for chance favours the prepared mind because fixing objectives is like identifying the North start you sight your compass on it and then use it as the means of getting back on track when you tend to stand I don’t feel there is something I cannot do I am always optimistic that if Mr A can do it then I can equally do and do better than Mr. A. that is my philosophy of life. And now here is my secret, a very simple secret, it is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye. There is also these philosophy of life that keeps my goals going and materializing thus says in every community there is work to be done. In every nation there are wounds to be heal. In every heart there is the power to do it therefore I belief I can achieve all my goals. In reality there is only one time form of motivation and that is self motivation, all else is superficial. I belief in walking consciously only part way toward one’ goals and then leap in the dark to one’s success. A difficult time can be more readily endured if we retain the conviction that our existence holds a purpose a cause to pursue a person to love and a goal to achieve.

3. What are the most important new ideas you learned from this book? Please explain

I learnt different philosophies and quotes of life by notable people and knowing that the heaven is the limit if only one can keep trying and go against failure because there is nothing like that for failure leads to success. I learnt that there can be no knowledge without emotion. We may be aware of truth. Yet until we have felt its force, its not ours. To the cognition of the brain must be added the experience of the soul and that a difficult time can be more readily endured if we retain the conviction that our existence holds a purpose a cause to pursue a person to love a goal to achieve. That there is one quality that one must posses to win and that is definiteness of purpose the knowledge of what one wants, and a burning desire to get or have it so also to achieve a positive mental balance you must lead from the right and manage from the left. That one is transformed by the renewal of one’s mind, that one may prove what is good and acceptable, perfect will of God.

I also learn about the seven principles of lift. In one of the principles of lift. In one of the principle I am meant to understand that whatever decision you need to make, whatever challenge you want to overcome, what every goal you wish to achieve, raising your awareness will be the fist step towards it. I also learnt that the past and the present do not equal the future. The future exists in infinite possibilities by developing our highest opportunity. Now, whenever I found myself stuck or unsure in any area of my life I climb the first rung of the LIFT ladder by asking myself the question. “Have I raised my awareness sufficiently in this situation I found myself? I am happy that I am adding to my reservour of knowledge for this book is really rich. I learnt that a mind that is stretched to a new idea never returns to its original dimension. I am so blessed with this book and I will keep it for my unborn children to be bless by it. Whao, this is beautiful knowing that my task now is not to fix blame for the past but to fix the course for the future. Mr. Michael Lightweaver thanks to you for selecting these kinds of books for me to read in my stage two. That even a happy life cannot be without a measure of darkness and the word happiness would loose its meaning if it were not balanced by sadness. I am so happy to read this again that what is right for one soul may not be right for another. It may mean having to stand on your own and do something strange in the eyes of others. But do not be daunted. Do whatever it is because you know within it is right for you for blessed are the flexible for they shall not be bent out of shape. I also learnt not to live the length of my life alone but also to live the width of it as well (Excellent).

I also learn about the synergy of self which is the fruits of balance that explains that by achieving balance across all major life areas you achieve synergy of self. Synergy meaning that together the whole is greater than the sum of its part, is a naturally occurring dynamic. That we cannot be happy at all times if we expect to live all the time at the highest peak of intensity, but of balance and order and rhythm and harmony. Also if we insist on looking at the rainbow of intelligence through a single filter many minds will erroneously seem devoid of light. That in the power to change yourself is the power to change the world around you.

4. Has this book challenge or change your thinking in any way if so explain

Yes in a great deal. I never feel so happy to the extent I am feeling right now as I am writing about the book “GOAL MAPPING”. I am really challenge by the different words of wisdom and illustrations in the book. Like the purpose is to a person what fuel it is an engine without it we end up going nowhere. It is strange that though all must dread the path of life, so few know whether they are going. Let us follow our destiny. What ever may happen, we master fortune by accepting it, that motivation comes from inspiration which is powered by purpose. I am really challenged because now I know that I still have work to do about achieving greatness and maintaining it but I am on the right path. I am also challenge by the word of wisdom that go thus “Great minds have purposes others have wishes therefore for my mind to remain great I have to continually fill it with good purpose. That a man who is master of himself can end a sorrow as easily as he can invent a pleasure. If you are distressed by anything external, the pain is not due to the thing itself but to your own estimate of it; and this you have the power to revoke.

5. Are there ideas in this book that you totally disagree with?

No

6. What did you find most helpful and least helpful in this book?

I found everything interesting and helpful in that it opens my eyes and inner mind on the things I do not see before it makes me know that being judgmental about your own behaviour is actually another cop-out because it makes you feel as though you’re doing something virtuous. That the ancestor of every action is a thought. By attempting to avoid the responsibility for our own behaviour we are giving away our power to some other individual or organization. In this way, millions daily attempt to escape from freedom. So also that between stimulus and response, there is a space. In fact space lies our freedom and power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and freedom. That in the long run use shape our life and we shape ourselves. The process never ends until we die. And the choices we make are ultimately our responsibility. I learnt not to run from responsibilities that by attempting to avoid the responsibility for our own behaviour we are giving away our power to some other individual organization. In this way, millions daily attempt to escape from freedom. I learnt that nothing is impossible when we follow our inner guidance even when its direction may threaten us by reversing or usual logic. That I become what I think about.

7. In 50 words or less please describe the main idea the book is trying to convey.

The book is trying to convey to people that nothing is impossible when we follow our inner guidance and that our attitudes controls our lives. That is of paramount importance that we know how to harness and control this great force. That confidence thrives only in honesty, honour, on the sacredness of obligations on faithful protection and on in selfish performance and without them it cannot live. There are no secrets to success. It is the result of preparation hard work and learning from failure. Knowing that you have complete control of your thinking you will recognize the power.

The Power of Intention

Aremu Abosede Oluwaseun (Seun) (Nigeria)

1. What is the main idea that the author is trying to convey in the book?

The author of the power of Intention portra what will become of an individual if a vision is written in black and white, followed duely witout devianting it will be achieved. The book dig deep into self concept;that in building the self concept, there has to be overall development of the self knowledge, self focus, self efficacy, self esteem and self consistency is believed that if one has a vision and not merge it with the self concept it is possible for the vision to go down the drain.Vision is all about launching out into the deep and it is only meant for individuals that are committed with positive thinking.A philosopher once asked why some grow big while others stay small,he replied if a Koi fish lives in a small tank it will never grow longer than five or six centimetres. In a larger pond they can grow up to 25 centimetres long in the ponds but if they live in a huge lake where they can swim and stretch, they can grow up to a meter long. The size of the pond determines the size of the fish.Similarly, little ideas in little thinking minds produce little achievements, while little ideas embraced by big thinking minds produces enormous achievement.Jesus said according to your faith be it unto you(Matthew 9V29kjv).The size of your faith comes into play here. The size of your faith and your vision determines the outcome of your idea.Edison had to install electric lights for free in an office building before anyone even came to look at them. The first Sewing machine invented was destroyed by a mob in france.Morse waited for ten years before the world shjowed any interest in his telegraph and when the idea of travelling by rail rtoad was introduced ,people scoffed because it was widely believed that traveling at the 50kph stopped blood circulation in the human body. There is this saying that undertake something difficult,it will do you good.Unless you try something beyond what you have already mastered, you will never grow. You attain in direct proportion to what you attempt which is why is highly recommended to launch out into the deep. In summary, the book is trying to convey a message of achieving a set out objectives with an outline of different processes or steps that will aid the vision into fulfilment.

2. What were the seven ideas which were personally most important to you and why?

List these seven ideas followed by an explanation after each one as to why it was important to you.Use personal example from your own life.

Everything about the book is quite interesting and highly inspirational. As interesting as all the ideas seems,I will outline seven most important ideas that are extremely useful because these are the things I crave for in life.

a. The Essentials of intention actually opens my mind.It makes me to see Intention from another perspective now and far better than the way I used to view Intention. It gives an in depth insight of what Intention is all about as it comprehends existence am meant to understand that Intent is a force that exist in the universe. That when sorcerees beckon on Intent,it comes to them and set up the path for attainment which means that sorcerers always accomplish what they set out to do.I am a person of great vision and I try as much as I can to write them in the table of my heart and if possible black and white so that I will not loose focus having placed it in God’s hand. When I read the two sentences about the sorcerer,I was impressed and marvel by the insight and clarity it gave me about the power of Intention. Imagine that intention is not something you do but rather a force that exists in the universe as an invisible field of energy and I have never seen Intention in this way.

Viewing Intention from a new perspective explain that there is actually a force that cause the vision into being which is God.Using my personal example. When I was a young teenage girl in the secondary school,I had a dream that one day I will be very great and contribute towards the development of Africa.I had a dream of becoming a woman of substance.I sat down one day to design how I will achieve this by putting them on a template.I said to myself that it will be ideal for me to take my Education seriously as that will help in building my selfconcept thereby commanding respect in the society at large. It is in view of these that I decided to be more closer to God because it is not by my own ability but there is a force that is making it possible for dream formation, incubation, manifestation and actualization.I tried to have a cordial relationship by praying, reading the word of God and not conceive evil towards anybody.I also added self study after school alongside with the praying attitude and I saw it working.I later taught of going into sport because I came from a sport background. My father used to be a boxer that has represented Nigeria in different national and international competitions and retired as a National coach.Likewise my mum that played Table tennis for Nigeria in the early 70’s actively before getting married.I saw all these as an encouragement that I can do sport and I will excel. So I and my immediate elder brother went into the two sports but later chose Table tennis and not later than five years,we came into limelight and the journey began with more challenges. Why did I say more challenges? At that young age ,I had to combine my education, sport and other activities together to achieve my set goals.I did all that activelly throughout my secondary education and I was already earning a living from sport having combine it with my academics without allowing one to disturb the other.Things were so good because God was on my side.At age 14 I was already collecting salary while at the college.I finished my college education at the age of 16 with an excellent result.

b. It is my Intention to respect myself at all times. I believe that it is what I think about myself that I would think about the world. The reflection about oneself and the notion about the world is that, the world can either be pessimistic or optimistic by nature. I am an optimistic person and it has been working for me through commitment and perseverance to whatever I want to be in life with Gods help.Even though so many people is of the opinion that it is impossible to have an headway if you do not have earthly or physical connection. I totally disagree because once you have the superior connection, you will have the earthly connection because it is written in the Bible that he cause our enemies to be at peace with us and we would find favour with God and men and that settles all the worries. As I always have it in mind to be very great I always aim for extra ordinary things. In the midst of this, using my involvement in politics as an example. People see me as been too young for the positions I wanted.Another example was when I was in table tennis circle as an activwe player. In the Nigerian table tennis federation then,I noticed some faults on the part of the officials and I looked for different ways to solve it as young as I was but the effort was forfeited and there was no desired change.I now taught of how it would have been if I can be sport administrator one day and I concluded that there will be need for me to attain a higher education from the University. So I wrote the joint matriculation examination that will get me into the university and got the admission to study Human kinetics and Health Education and possibly be an active member of a political party so that one day I will be part of decision makers in the field of sports in Nigeria. As I was undergoing the process of becoming a graduate and an active member of a party,I have it in mind to respect myself, respect others and be brave.I also imbibe the attitude of combining the three self which are ideal self, private self and public self to be a better person and not forgetting that I need to be Me and not act under pretence because self originated from the infinite formless state to a being of molecules and physical substance. If you fail to respect youselves, you are showing contempt for the purpose of creation and you are abdicating yourself. With self respect that I have for myself,I was able to attract the higher energy into achieving my set objectives.

c. It is my Intention to Live a Life of Purpose. I am of the school of thought that there is a purpose for my being in existence .Even my alive till date has purpose that needs to manifest.A sense of purpose ia st the very top of the pyramid of self actualization. But many people feel very little sense of purpose and may even doubt that they have a purpose in life. As Intention is the force is the force in the universe and that everything and everyone is connectedto this invisible force. This simply dennote that it is Intention that fulfil purpose in life, therefore everyone has a purpose in life. Intention and purpose are as beautifully and naturally intewined as the double helix of DNA. At a time when I finished the higher education,I was confused with what to do after the degree course.I asked myself series of questions of what to do with the degree certificate. At that time,I was already deviating from my dream and not really connected to Intention the way I should.I was befuddled by the endless number of options available made me not to have none because I did not really follow my passion. After a while I tried polishing the connecting link and reconnecting the basics of Intention in order to live my life on purpose.I now make up my mind to have an Msc in sports administration after obtaining a professional master’s in public and international affairs which is now an added advantage because the knowledge is not lost.I am very happy that I could re-connect back to Intention and live a purposeful life.Having read this book, your purpose will find you, your silent inner knowing, inspiration, purpose and making Intention my reality.

d. It is my intention to live a stress free tranquil life. When God was creating me,what he had in mind is for me to have a happy and joyous experiences of life on earth. My creator is peaceful and joyous therefore I should have a stress free and tranquil life because I am created in his own image. In a state of joy,you feel fulfilled and inspired in all facets of life. That is gaining freedom from anxiety and stress is a pathway to rejoicing with the field of Intention. The moment of life which one lives and spend being happy and joyful allowing to be fully alive and on purpose are the times when one is align with all creating universal mind of Intention. I think am getting close to achieving that because I see God as my backbone and have surrender myself to him and live a peaceful life that I want from others. It is understood that stress is as a result of Ego. Perhaps your Ego feels more effective dealing and coping with because you feel you are actually doing something in the world. That there is no actual stress or anxiety in the world ;it is your thoughts that create these false beliefs. That stress cannot be seen or touched. It is only people that engage in stressful thinking creating negative reactions in the body which might cause life threatning illness. I have learnt to debunk the popular stress inducing thoughts that originate in ego self which are:

It is more important to be right than to be happy.

Winning is the only thing. When you lose, you should be stressed.

Your reputation is more important than your relationship with your source.

Success is measured in dollars and accumulations rather than in feeling happy and content. Being superior to others is more important than being kind to others.

Truly, the above connotations has been a stress factor in my life but now that have acquire more knowledge ,I will rather be focused with my source than worrying for nothing because worrying without higher connection with Intention would be null.

e. It is my Intention to attract ideal people and divine relationship. Over the years, I have come to realize that if you commit yourself to matching up with the field of Intention, everyone you desire or need to fulfill your personal Intention will appear because all things work together for them that love God. The moment you definitely commit yourself to been a part of the power of Intention, then providence moves too and an unexpected positive assistance comes your way.The right people will arrive to assist you in every aspect of your life. You will have to let go of any resistance to your ability to attract the right people in achieving your purpose in life. An example is an experience I had while contesting for councillorship position for the second time in my ward under constituency2 in mainland local government having done my homework at the grassroot. Before I went for the contest I was intune with the power of Intention even I fasted for forty one days for God to show me his mercies and do that which only him can do.We went for the primaries but I was not picked due to one political reason or the other but I felt very disappointed as if that was the end of the road for me. After having second thought I started asking for God’s forgiveness because he know’s what I don’t know. Not long after the the selection, the leaders appeal to me and told me that I would be conpensated.During the time for selecting people for the appointment,God showed up by sending people that I needed at that point and I was compensated with the position of Executive Secretary Complaint and Job Creation Centre. I really appreciate God because him alone knows where he is taking me to.The summary of this is that God brought the right people to assist me when I needed.

f. It is my intention to optimise my capacity to heal and to be healed. Every Single person on earth is a potential healer. In order to make conscious contact of this, you must first of all make a decision to be healed first. Those who are healed auromatically become the instrument of healing.Once you have accepted the power to heal yourself and optimize your health, you have become someone who is capable of healing others as well. When we talk about self healing process it means that an individual must reconnect to the disease free loving perfection from which you came. To achieve these,it is imperative to start noticing your thoughts and behaviors that are creating resistance and interfering with healing which is the flow of Intentional Energy. During my last child pregnancy,I had a serious challenge that has never happened to me before.I was under close check as result of high blood pressure. When I first heard form the doctor that my blood pressure was abnormal and there will be need for me to eat well and have adequate rest so as not to affect me during child labour and delivery. It went on and on for six months plus. After a while, when is time for me to go for Antenatal I will be afraid of what the doctor will say so also some expectant mothers at the clinic were in my shoes. I do console other women that all they need to do is to move closer to God because he is the one that put the baby inside our womb.I was doing all these but when I noticed that there was no changes in my blood pressure,I decided to take the bull by the horn because I was getting so close to delivery. I decided to observe a joint seven days fasting and prayer with my husband. The seventh day of the fasting was my antenatal day and getting to the clinic Lo and behold my blood pressure was normal and I just could not hold the healing to myself alone.I started sharing my testimony among other pregnant women that had similar issue and they were all positive that if I can be healed they can be too.As if that was not enough, getting home I prayed and was ready to break my fasting,as I took the first orange I noticed a sharp pain that was labour.I got to the hospital an hour later and I put to bed with ease to a bouncing baby boy and the whole thing was a miracle. So many other women received there own healing by my own testimony.

g. It is my intention to Appreciate and express the Genius that I Am. Everyone is a genious becuase humanbeings have within themselves the same essence of conciousness and the process of creativity and genius are attributes of human consciousness. This is so important and interesting to me because right from my childhood I always want to talk and people listening with full concentration. I have always want to put the genius in me into test and be outstanding among my peers.I always want to do extra ordinary things. I don’t believe anything is impossible.I don’t run from challenges but I face it.An example is the professional masters programme in public and international affairs that I’m rounding up with now.At the begining of the course, some of my course mates found it very difficult to cope with but I do encourage them that nothing is too difficult for God to do.All it requires is for us to do our own part by making sure we come to class and study, then the rest is history for God.We did the first semester examination and to the glory of Power of Intention I had grade B in all my courses putting me on a scale of 4.0 cummulative grade point. The programme is a four semester course and I am through with my final project and still on good standing in my result. All I did was to express the Genius in me with humility and following the path of what is worth doing at all is worth doing well.Genius is seen as a style of conciousness characterised by ability to access high energy attractor pattern. When the result first came out, my mates marvel and were full of suprises because I never show it.I was so humble, quite which are the attributes of a Genius.A universal characteristics of a Genius is Humility.Genius is a function of surrendering to the source or reconnecting to it so dramatically that one’s Ego is substantially minimised.

3. How will these ideas or lessons help you in a practical way, both in your daily personal life and in helping you to crteate a better world? If so, how?

Life can get so busy that we don’t have time to really think about what we want out of life and when we do find what we want,it can seem impossible to achieve it. Having learnt several good things in the power of intention,I have decided to let it reflect in my daily life and be highly innovative to transform the world into a better place.I have decided to build my spitituality by doing the following.

To have some clarity of mind.

To feel each day mnore nearer to my inner self ,be centred.

To know myself.

To have greater livel of spiritual joy that raises above our human burdens.

To live with Intention and purpose.

To be in the ocean of love and wisdom.

To get a meaningful glimpse of everyone I come in contact with.

To learn how to meditate when I do not have a lot time to do so.

To really feel alive.

The above things are what I will key into and be using them everyday of my life and contribute my positive quota to the society. So also I will like to make a positive change that will have a major effect on a large number of people in my community like organising an empowerment programmes for women in the state towards a sustainable development because women are home builders therefore they need to be empowered in all ramifications in order to have a sound nation. With the ideas I have extracted from this book,I hope to help people heal old wounds the more and live mu life as I do and want to grow my soul through these lessons. To be highly creative its another thing I am going to work on.The lessons has drastically change my life having a clear objective and a clear way of pursuing it.The lessons has also taught me to be who I am ,total connection with my spirit and to end disconnection from others which leads to loneliness. That I should embrace happiness everyday of my life and extend it to others.I will also be in touch with life ,be intimate. And be less afraid of situations.Having peace of mind is an ultimate thing in my life now and I will be free from worry and unnecessary fears.I now feel serenity in making life decisions that are aligned with values. To stop my perfectionism and actually do better at and in everything else and get rid of nagative thoughts.Having put all these in place,I am optimistic about successful development of my nation through my wealth of knowledge.Putting all these together is simply a pathway to success.

4. Are there brief quotes from the book which really got your attention? If so please list and comment on them.

The following are the quotes that caught my attention in the book power of Intention.

The source which is intention is pure unbounded energy vibrating so fast that it defies measurement and observation, its invisible without form or boundaries.

“Where ther is hatred, let me show love” St francis.

“Love is the most powerful and still the most unknown energy of the world”Pierre Teilhard.

“Beauty is truth, truth is beauty that is all ye know on earth and all ye need to know” John keats.

“The law of floatation was not discovered by contemplating the sinking of things but by contemplating on the floating of things which floated naturally and then intelligently asking why they did so”Thomas Troward.

“It is one of the most beautiful compensation of this life that no man can sincerely try to help another without helping himself.Serve and thou shall be served”Ralph Waldo.

“Eternity is not the here after, this is it if you don’t get it here, youwont get it anywhere”Joseph Cambell.

“To be empty completely empty is not a fear something. It is absolutely essential for the mind to be unoccupied to be empty ,unenforced, for then only can it move into unknown depths”.

“Those who have faile to work towards the truth have missed the purpose of living “Buddha.

“Your sole business in life is to attain Gos realization. All else is useless and worthless”sivananda.

God is able to provide you with every blessings in abundance”St Paul.

When God realize there is nothing lacking, the whole world belongs to you”Lao Tzu.

“Self actualization people must be what they can be”Abraham maslow.

Each of the above quotes are excellent. A force that exists in the universe as an invisible field of energy. He also placates that the source which is Intention is pure ,unbounded energy vibrating so fast that it defies measurement and observation.it is invisible without form of boundaries and it is a force that is every where.Ego should be highly submissive for intent to work.To give more and expect nothing in return. So also is the quote of Budha that says those who have failed to work towards the truth have missed the purpose of living. You must be the change you wish to see in the world and his lifelong quest and devotion to truth I feel guided by one of the world’s greatest leaders .If we hold truth as one of our highest values and then move into the world to create change that aligns with our values and that means we are living two of the highest principle of universalism.Lao Tzu quote is also another one in a million quote that has made me to see life in another dimention by not been over worried about issues. At the centre of my exixtence,I have the answer since I know who I am and what I want and when I am contented with what I have, trejoicing the way things are with hardwork, then heaven would be the limit for me.

Law of Attraction
Assessment by Aremu Abosede Oluwaseun (Nigeria)

1. What is the main idea that the author is trying to convey in the book?

The author of Law of Attraction portray human nature as it evolve. He explained a lot an individual attract whatever one gives an attention to thinking about something will definitely occupy somebody’s mind. Law of attraction can be define as attracting to my life whatever I give my attention, energy and focus to, whether positive or negative. There is always a vibration either negative or positive. The word vibe is used to describe a mood or a feeling that you pick up from someone or sometime. Every single moment you have a mood or a feeling. The mood or feelings of an individual causes an emission. The law of attraction simply means universal energy around you that obeys the science of physics is responding to the vibration you are offering. The measure of what you think is what it will give back to you. That is it, is matching one’s vibration by giving you more of the same whether positive or negative.

For example, when a person wakes up first thing Monday morning feeling a little bit cranky and irritated they are sending out a negative vibration. And while they are sending out this negative vibration the law of attraction responds matching the vibration they are sending and giving this person more of the same. The law of attraction always matches your vibration.

So this person gets out of bed, stubs their toe, burns their toast, the traffic is snarled a clients cancels and then they catch themselves saying “I should have stayed in bed”.

Or how about the sales person who is joyfully excited about a huge sale they just made thus sending out a positive vibration. Shortly after, they get another ideal sale. In the two examples, the law of attraction is at work. Orchestrating and unfolding all that needs to happen to bring them more of the same.

Law of attraction responds to whatever vibration you are sending by giving, you more of it often times, many people keeps attracting the same thing because of there state of mind.

They are absolutely certain that they are not sending out anything negative, yet n a specific area of their life, negative experiences keep showing up. This happens because they are sending a negative vibe non- deliberately simply through their observation of what they are currently getting. One might be remembering or pretending, or day dreaming or in this case just merely observing and still be sending negative or positive vibration. More observation sends test knows as observation cycle. The law of attraction will respond to your vibration.

A law of attraction exist in all humans therefore whether you like it or not or whether you believe it or not. If you like what you are observing then celebrate it and in your celebration you will get more.

The book explains that law of attraction deliberate attraction, that words are everywhere. We speak them, read, Rem, write them think them, see them type, them and hear them in our head. The words we think and use generate the vibrate we send on our thoughts are made up of words and they affect us positively or negatively. The law of attraction respond the same way you maind does hears what you don’t want that when you hear what you don’t want. That when you hear yourself make a statement containing negative words, you are actually giving attention and energy to what you don’t want.

In summary the book is trying to explain that As a Man Thinketh. So is he what you think is what you are. That it is ideal to always be optimistic so that one can have a peace of mind. Be positive minded. Positive and Negative emotion cannot occupy the mind at the same time. One is the other must dominate it is your responsibility to make sure that positive emotions constitution the dominating influence of your mind.

2. What were the seven ideas which were personal most important to you and why? List these seven ideas followed by an explanation after each one as to why it was important to you. Use personal examples from your own life.

i. Understanding the significance of your words.
This is highly fascinating because it actually goes a long way and usually as an effect either positive or negative, directly or indirectly. Words are powerful and it can either make or mar an individual. There are times I utter some words that ordinarily I should not have made after which I would be regretting. I am made to understand that our thoughts are made up of words and it will have the effect I want it to have positive or negative. That when I use the word I am actually internalizing in my mind, the exact thing I have been told not to is what I will be thinking of in my mind. For example, if I am told not to drink alcohol, it is guarantee that I would start thinking of alcohol almost immediately even though, the instruction was not to drink alcohol, the unconscious and conscious mind edited out the part of instruction that says don’t.

the law of attraction respond the same way you mind does, it hears what you don’t want. Could remember that at a time in my marriage there are something to him I found out that it affect me more negatively because my heart is already occupied with the thoughts of those things and before I know it will start having sleepless night, pimples coming out of my face and worse of all getting unnecessary worked up or upset with the children.

When make a statement containing the words don’t, not or no, I am actually growing attention to negatively so I have decided to work more on what I want in my marriage and be happy.

There is a saying by Napolean kill that positive and negative emotions cannot occupy, the mind at the same time. One or the other must dominate. Therefore, it is one’s responsibility to make sure that positive emotions constitute the dominating influence of your mind. When you go from what you don’t want to what you do want, the words change. When the words changes the vibration changes and you can only send out are message at a time.

ii. Deliberate Attraction
I am really involved with this because it gives an insight towards attaining, greatness. Deliberate attraction has three steps which are.

Identifying your Desire: It is not too easy to identify one’s desire however it is easy most of the time to identify what they don’t want. It is understood that the law of Attraction would only work for you when you are clear about what you wants the problem, however, is that most people are not good at knowing what they do want but they are good at identifying what they don’t want. Knowing what is detestable is actually good news. Identifying what you don’t want is a great tool of success. It would be very easy to deal with contrast things. The normal I identify something that feels like contrast and you spend time complaining about it, talking about it, or declaring that you don’t want it you are offering a negative vibration and this is what I do most of the time. But I have learnt a new thing that it is better to talk about what you want because each I talk or think about what I don’t want, I end up been affected psychologically and physiologically because the law of attraction will definitely give more of what you are feeling. Contrast as said to be helpful. By observing contrast and identifying at as some thing you don’t you become clearer about what you do want. Simply making a list of what is needed, there will be clarity about what you do want by answering the asked questions. The book law of attraction explains that you are already experiencing clarity whenever you observe contrast in your life. It is essential to identify what makes you feel good and do more of it with caution because too much of everything is bad therefore you do it with moderacy

iii. Give your Desire Attention
Giving attention to the identified desire increases vibration because it is not enough to merely identify desire without giving it time or attention. An example of this is applicable to my educational career. After identifying my educational career. After identifying my desire to go for a second masters in sport Administration and Management so that I can proceed to Phd level. I forget to pay attention to the entrance examination date by checking the website or been conversant with the staffs in the department. I missed the entrance examination because my desire was not been attended to adequately. But a miraculous thing happened. I later went to complain and the law of attraction fall into place because it is my desire to start another master in the new session starting in November as I round up with the masters in public and international affairs in October. I do really thank God because make up by the school authority and I was full of joy but I learnt a new lesson that it is pertinent to give attention to your goal.

The law of attraction brings you more of whatever you give your attention, energy or focus to. If, however, you identify your desire and don’t give it attention, energy and focus there is no manifestation. The key here is it adequate attention that is needed. As you are giving it attention, you are now including the vibration of your desire in your current vibration.

Your current vibration is what the law of attraction responds to. Law of attraction can only respond to what you are giving your attention to. The law of attraction reacts to how you feel about what you say and how you feel about what you think. Giving the identified desire an attention, the right words should be used.

Good and correct affirmations should be used place like saying I am in the process of having two masters. This statement makes me feel good and happy because I am actually in the process and not saying I have two masters when I don’t have it yet.

The process of manifestation actually starts when you think about your desire talk about it, write about it, or when you give it any kind of attention, energy and focus, so the truth is you are in the process. When you say I am in the process of the sentence becomes true and if it is true for you, it feels good which is a positive vibration. For example I am in the process of enjoying my body more and more would make me work more on my body for me to actually enjoy it the way I want.

Now the above statement is goof and when a statement is true for you, it feels good. When it feels good, are you sending a positive vibration and I am meant to understand that the law of attraction responds to by bringing you more or the same.

Desire statement tool is an effective tool for raising your vibrations. Once you are clear about what you want, writing a desire statement helps you give attention to that desire. Remember, the law of attraction says that what are you give your attention, energy and focus to you’ll get more of and the desire statements allows that.

I usually make a desire statement when I was very young that I want to have a Phd and he referred to as Dr. Mrs. Oluwaseun Nariwoh and the law of attraction is making it to fall into place because I think more of it and I am in the direction been focused. As I made the statement of waiting to have Phd in that moment, the law of attraction is orchestrating circumstances and events to bring it to me. However, if I am like most people, I will probably sabotage myself by saying I can’t afford to pass entrance examination not to talk of paying for school fees that way one would be offering a vibration of lack and that is what the law of attraction respond to. Once a designed statement is written, you will experience feel ups of excitement, possibility and hope, all of which are a sign of positive. I have also learnt here that the three element to desire statement should be put in place for correctness which are the opening sentence , the body and the closing sentence whoa this nearly interesting and I am happy I am part of the people that are blessed with the law of attraction book and thank to international global leadership school.

iv. Allow it
It is all about allowing what you have propounded in your heart ranging from identifying your desire, giving your desire attention and allowing it to unfold by removing negative thoughts will give room for positive manifestation.

Allowing is the absence of negative vibration. Allowing is seen as the most important steps in the deliberate attraction process. I think I fall into this category for in the time past I set out my desire which I have a goal of been a project management professional. It is a time I was working toward going for registration but when I look at income, I decided to give it a second thought and not allowing the set desire to be achieved and I began to send negative vibrations. I have learnt now that what is worth doing at all is worth doing well because it is what you think that the law of attraction would work with. There is need of removing any form of doubt for breakthrough doubt removing process is called allowing. Telling oneself just allow it would not even do the magic because if you doubt you can have something, you are sending a negative vibration. This negative vibration diluting or cancelling the positive vibration of your desire. Having positive vibration of your desire. Having positive vibe and having strong doubt would definitely cancel each other out. Therefore allowing is functional in the absence of worry and doubt. The speed at which the law of attraction responds to your desire is in direct proportional to how much you allow it is clear that having a strong desire with strong doubt means your desire will not be manifested. Having a strong desire with just a little bit of doubt means your desire will come though slowly. But the best is having a strong desire with no doubt which means your desire will be manifested quickly. Doubt is a negative vibration and doubt is often created from limiting beliefs.

Celebrate the prove (evidence) in achieving the set objectives, for the set desired to manifest there has to be giving proper attention and doubt should be totally eradicated. Doubt is what stops your desire from coming to you and the best way to remove doubt is how you deserve proof of law of attraction is important. In some cases, people might say “oh this is not exactly what I want or he’s not quit the right person I was looking for or it is kind of close but not really. “Saying or thinking these kinds of phrases creates a negative vibration. It is understood that when find and experience proof of the law of attraction, celebrate it by acknowledging how close you came to getting what you desired. It is in the celebration of the closeness of the match that you offer more vibration of what you desire and the moment, the law of attraction is responding to your vibration. Remember, the law of attraction does not care whether you are remembering, pretending, playing, creating, complaining, or worrying. It simply responds to your vibration and sends you more of the same so it is better to find proof and rejoice. Keeping a diary or log of proof of the law of attraction in your life will help you believe it more and trust more. If it’s something you desired record it and you will raise your vibration. I have learnt that getting to know the truth as in funding proof help lesson or reduce doubt. Using the networking business as an example. There was a time I introduced a friend to the networking investment business but she was not convinced until she sees the proof helps lessen or reduce doubt. Using the networking business as an example. There was a time I introduced a friend to the networking investment business but she was not convinced until she sees the proof of my first payment of thousands of naira and that was when she now confessed that now I believe and she joined the network and became my downline. After a couple of pages of recording yours proofs, you will realize how much the law of attraction is really working in your life. As you apply the law of attraction more knowingly you will have confirmation that will help you trust the process of allowing more easily, thus reducing the doubt or resistance.

v. Appreciation and Gratitude
This is a key to greatness because when you appreciate you will be full of joy and more favour will come your way. When you are appreciating something you are offering a feeling and vibration of pure joy. Keeping an appreciation and gratitude journal is an effective daily tool for maintaining a positive vibration. It is like when you appreciate God daily, there is the inner peace and joy that susually radiate.

Another thing is that there are different feeling that is attached to appreciation, therefore it is the feeling that is attached to your appreciation that is important.

Appreciation and gratitude help you offer string, positive vibrations.
I could remember when I was given an appointment as the executive secretary complaint and job creation, I was full of joy and I had to send appreciation messages to the people that matters as regards the position and I was filled with happiness.

vi. Become More Abundant and Attract More Money
Abundance is a feeling of what is good. It is a feeling and that feeling has a corresponding vibration that you can duplicate. In most cases, people duplicate the feeling of lack, sadness, or hopelessness simply by the thoughts and the words they use. Given that you can learn how to duplicate the feelings of abundance more intentionally by changing the way you use your words and what you deliberate upon in your hearts. Law of attraction respond to our vibration at a time. By creating the vibration of abundance more deliberately and more often we are given room for things to fall in place naturally. It is expedient to include vibration of abundance in your vibrational bubble as often as possible. Put yourself in the position of been abundant everyday by bowing an ever glowing heart. When you notice abundance, celebrate the evidence of it in your life by appreciating God and testifying to its goodness if possible before the congregation and while you are offering the positive vibration of abundance because at every point the law attraction is responding to the vibration you are offering and give you more of the same either keeping a log of it will encourage you to spend more time celebrating your abundance. Many people when offered something would say no thanks and deep down them they actually want the gift and they would be regretting in their heart that I would have accepted the gift thereby sending negative vibration and the law of attraction would keep giving more of what you are feeling. Therefore, it is better to say yes and feel good in your heart. Then favor will continue to locate you instead of acting under pretence and causing more harm to yourself. In all of these statements, you can hear resistance to receiving money. The new you, however will learn to say thanks I would like that, and you will start to feel good about it. In a way, it is essential and advisable to do things that makes you feel good.

vii. Attracting Your Ideal Relationship
When I was an undergraduate in the University I took out time to select my would be life partner with the help of God because of the experience I had with my first boy friend. The first guy I dated was a brilliant fellow which is one of the qualities I look out for in a man not knowing that brilliancy is not the end of it all. After a while in the relationship, I discovered that I cannot make a family with that type of man and I called it off with him.

When I now met the man I am married to now, I took out time to make a list of what I want and I was really patient looking out for those qualities in him. I have always wanted a man that will love me more than I do and I saw that him and we kicked off with the relationship.

As an individual too, I showed him love and it became the story of Romeo and Juliet. Now we are happily married with children. When I have gotten a proof in my mind that this is the kind of man I want and I gave the desire an attention after which it blossom to marriage which is the manifestation of the positive vibration and the law of attraction orchestrated it into becoming husband and a wife today. Moving away from lovers relationship, there are some people that you feel does not benefit you in any way. They are mainly parasite and the kind of relationship is parasitic in nature and not symbiotic. People that falls under the category of symbiosis will definitely allows positive flow of vibrations while the once that are parasitic in nature would have no value to add to the person they are in the relationship with. Therefore, at every point it is ideal to attract the kind of friendship that will add value to you and make you fruitful and not just sucking from you.

viii. Learn How to Teach the Law of Attraction to Children.
It will be good to have each unit of the family practicing the law of attraction. If all families in a particular country are in line with law of attraction, the country will experience radiation of peace, joy, love, happiness and every good things one can think of in life because everyone would do the right thing at the right time and not be agitated unnecessarily. When teaching the law of attraction to children, it is important to talk to them at their level using words they can easily understand and relate to.

Like when referring to vibration it can be called negative vibes and they will easily understand that it simply means something that makes them feel bad. Questions that get kids to relate to concepts from their own experience visual aids is also learnt to be used for younger children for proper understanding. Reinforcing with games that will ginger them and tickle their fancy and at the same time they will learn the exact positive things you are imbibing in them. It should be full all out for children to be active.

3. How will these ideas or lessons help you in a practical way, both in your daily, personal life and in helping you to create a better world if so, how?

Having learnt several good things in the book law of attraction, I have made up my mind to embrace it in totality and have a positive influence in my life and not for reading sake. I now know that I attract to my life whatever I give my attention, energy and focus to, whether positive or negative. Looking at it, it is better to spend your time more in something that make sense and not some that will de-value you. As the law of attraction responds to whatever vibration you are sending by giving you more of it, whether it is positive or negative. It simply respond to your vibration. Having known this, and since I want the law of attraction to respond to positive things, my mind will henceforth be occupied with positivity. I have also learn more about how powerful words can be as they make up our thoughts. That when we make a statement containing the words don’t, not or no, you are actually giving attention and energy to what you don’t want in that instance or case the best thing I will do is to ask myself what do I want and work towards getting what I crave for instead of getting unnecessarily stressed upon the things I don’t want. In fact, the use of the word don’t, no and not is now a thing of the past in my life because when I go from what I don’t want to what I want, the words change, the vibration changes and can only send one vibe at a time having a full understanding of the book has left me with no choice than to send positive vibe and do away with the negative one. At every point of my life now, to make sure or to know whether I am sending a positive vibe or negative, I will simply access the results am getting since they are a perfect reflection of what am vibrating.

It is also important to observe contrast because it will shed more light on what I actually want. In order to allow law of attraction to be at work, it is also good for me to identify what makes me happy and do more of it which I have started doing now. I also know not that there is need to have a vibrational bubble as the law of attraction reacts to how you feel about what you what you say and how you feel about what you think. For one life to be purposeful, you have to devoid your heart of fullness. As I have made a resolution to be positive minded at all times so also would I be an instrument for positive social change towards having a sustainable development in the country.

4. Are there brief quotes from the book which really got your attention? If so, please list and comment on them.

The following are the quotes that tickle my fancy;

Every thought must manifest according to its intensity. The slightest thought of intelligence sets in motion a power in the law to produce a corresponding thing. Erust Holmes.

You are a living magnet, you attract into your life people, situations and circumstances that are in harmony with your dormant thoughts. Whatever you dwell on in the conscious grows in your experience. Brian Tracy.

Positive and negative emotions cannot occupy the mind at the same time. One or the other must dominate. It is your responsibility to make sure that positive emotions constitute the dominating influence of your mind. Napoleon Hill.

The law of attraction is unfolding and orchestrating all that needs to happen to bring my desire.

Allowing is the absence of negative vibration.

The speed at which the law of attraction manifests your desire is in direct proportion to how much you allow.

There are two ways to tell when you are allowing. First, you feel a sense of relief and often hear yourself saying “Ah! This feels much better”. Second you see evidence of manifestation appearing in your life.

Your job is not to try to figure things out intellectually but to let the law of attraction figure it out.

Abundance is a feeling. Be more deliberate to include the feeling of abundance in your current vibration – your vibrational bubble.

The distance between your vibration n someone else’s vibration is equal to the amount of resistance (negativity) you feel when you are with them.

Nonviolent Communication
Assessment by Aremu Abosede Oluwaseun (Nigeria)

1. What is the main idea that the author is trying to convey?

The author of non violet communication, a language of life tried to educate the reader of so many things we do knowingly or unknowingly from birth that has made us to judge, diagnose and demand. We even go to the extent of communication what we fell is right or wrong to the people and in most cases has brought about frustration, regrets and misunderstanding. It has also gotten to the extent of depression, anger and even emotional breakdown or physical violence. Identifying all these, he decided to write different communication technique to transform the readers thinking, language and moralistic judgments. The book tried to convey to the readers that it is possible to put your primary focus on connection through emphatic listening rather than being right or getting what you want. That reduction and frustration can be eliminated completely, breaking of patterns of thinking that lead to argument or depression, creating personal and professional relationship grounded in mutual respect, compassion and emotional safety, so also different ways of transforming conflict into mutually satisfying outcomes.
The author wrote that it is human nature to give and receive in a compassionate manner but many of has been disconnected while very few are still connected to this divine nature. Furthermore, the factor that affects our ability to stay compassionate is related to the role of language and our usage of words.

That communication that leads us from giving from the heart is the ideal way of communication. The intent of the book mainly is to guide us on how we express ourselves and hear others. Instead of habitual, automatic reactions, our words become conscious responses based firmly on awareness of what we are perceiving, felling and wanting in life. We should be led with expressing ourselves with honesty and clarity, and at the same time paying others a respectful and emphatic attention. That there is also need for us to observe carefully and to be able to specify behavior and conditions that are affecting us. The book explain the useful of observations, feelings, needs and request as good components of non violet communication learning this will help us to connect with each other and most especially ourselves In such a way that allows our nature compassion to flourish. There are also life alienating communication that contribute to our behaving violently towards each other and ourselves. One of the life alienating communication is the use of moralistic judgment that imply wrongness or badness on the part of the people who don’t act in harmony with our values. That we should mind the word we use for people, what we say to them. So also, we should devoid ourselves from comparisons. That if readers have sincere desire to make life miserable for themselves, they might learn to compare themselves with others. Denial of responsibility can be likened to when we attribute our actions on to other. That you should be responsible for you actions and not apportion blame to anybody, therefore whatever you have to do has to go through constructive criticism before embarking on them. Communicating our desire as demand is another form of language that blocks compassion. Most times life alienating communication has deep philosophy and political roots. It is also idea to separate observation from evaluation. When observation is combine with evaluation, others are apt to hear criticism and resist what we are saying. There should not be generalization or stereotyping. Adequate observation should be carried out before evaluation vocabularies of feelings that allows us to clearly and specifically name or identify unemotional, that pay we can get close to people more easily.

We should be able to apologies when we are wrong and be free minded by not bearing grudges which will enhance bonding and resolve conflict easily.

In summary what the book is trying to convey is that judgment criticism, diagnoses and interpretations of others are all alienated expressions of needs and value. When people heat criticism they tend to pull up self defense or counter attack. The more directly we can connect our feeling to our needs, the easier it is for other to responds compassionately. In a case where we are too aggressive with our needs can be very frightening. In the course of developing emotional responsibilities most of us experience emotional slavery, not giving a dam about others and emotional liberation that the ability to empathy can allow us to stay vulnerable, defuse potential violence, hear the word no without taking it as offense or rejection, revive a lifeless relationship and even hear the feelings and needs expressed through mere observation. Finally is situation where there is no opportunity for communication, such are instances of imminent danger, we may need to resort to protective use of force to prevent injury or injustice.

1. What were the seven idea which were personally most important to you and why? List these seven ideas followed by an explanation after each one as to why it was important to you. Use personal examples from your own life.

i. Giving from the heart
there is a saying that says the hands of givers is always on top and givers never lack and beggars will always beg. It is also good to give from your heart of heart to give with love and not grudgingly. Even God attest to the fact that he loves a cheerful giver. So right from time have always loved anything inspirational that has to do that giving so that I can learn more , improve and be consistent with my giving so that I can fulfill the and obey the law of nature. What I have always wanted is a flow of compassion that will allow myself and other based relationship on a mutual giving from the heart and not be one sided at all time but after reading the Non Violent Communication book I realize that I am suppose to be a symbol of giving without necessarily expecting to receive. When we give from the heart we do so out of the joy that springs forth whenever we willing by enrich another person’s life. I feel so happy when I am in the position to offer an assistance and I always pray to God to make me a blessing unto others and be an instrument of change by affecting lifes positively. Avoid example was a boy of seven years old I saw in may church limping and walking with stick. I have always been a secret admirer for this little boy because he is so full of life as a child not until when I saw him limping with one of his two legs. I went to the parent of the boy and asked for what happened to his leg and the mother said that he was playing with his brother’s when one of them pushed him and broker his bones. I asked if they have taken him to the hospital but she said no that they have only taken him to the traditional bone doctor. I now asked her if she does not mind if we take the boy to a specialist in government hospital. There is a popular government hospital that is saddle with the responsibilities of treating people with bone related issues popularly known as IGBOBI in Nigeria. I offered to my car and to be the driver even offered to pay part of the money needed as I do not have enough as at that point but at least God used me to motivate her into taking the boy for proper treatment. I feel now when I seethe boy in church because he is no longer walking with stick but his tow legs. I am so happy for him. In all I see myself to be a giver and I still pray for the grace and enablement to do better by God’s Grace.

ii. Observing with Evaluating:
It is imperative to clearly observe what we are seeing, hearing or touching that is affecting our sense of well being without mixing in any evaluating. It is quite interesting to me because I am a very principled person and I don’t do what I cannot take unto others. I think very well before I say a word out of my mouth. There was a day I took my car to an automobile workshop for some repair, this happen few days ago. I called the mechanic and explain what I noticed in the car that I am not too comfortable with. I told him to check it and tell me what can be done even though I know what he need to buy because I have experience it before with the back tyre at the drivers side. Now it is the back tyre at the passengers side that is affected the checked and told me that a stabilizing rubber that is between the shock absorber and the rod that holds the tyre is bad. I told him ok that how much will it cost. He gave me a higher price other than the amount I paid for the previous one I did and I told him no that I will pay a certain amount. After agreeing, I gave him money and he decided to go and get the stabilizing rubber. Before he left I told him to check and he said he knows it. After a while he came back and went under the car to fix the rubber without jacking the car up to loose the tyre. I observe what he was doing without acting at first but when I noticed that he left the car and was looking for blade I went to him and ask that hope all is well. He replied me that he needs blade to cut the rubber to the size of the car. I now objected that no way that he should not do trial and error. He replied me that he know what he is doing that is his job. He tried to no avail and opted to go and get the smaller size. When he got back I now told him to do the work properly by removing the tyre so that he can fix the rubber well without having to remove on the way and he objected that he would prefer to do the work from under the car and I told him to live my car, I took my money back and l left. I observed him patiently before evaluating him because I have already noticed that if l allow him to do it the way he wants that means I want to spend money for repair twice and I was not ready to do that.

iii. Identifying and Expressing Feelings
The difficulty in identifying and expressing feelings is much and common in families where there is no freedom of communication through your emotions. Most at times there is a distance between a woman and a man in the house that calls themselves husband and wife. I noticed something between myself and my husband for some years now. There is this saying that it is the woman that makes the homes it is the woman that makes marriages works most of the time. It has been a frequent thing between myself and my husband that if I do not start up a conversation he would not talk to me as a husband should do with his wife. I usually try to call him during office hour to find out how he is faring at work and to tell him that I still love him. Sometimes he will pick the call when he is not too busy and at times when he is busy and found missed call he would call back. If he did not call back I will send message instead of calling again and he will acknowledge depending on the schedule of his work. Even when I am coming back from work I call at his office sometimes so that we can be going home together but after sometimes I noticed that he is not too comfortable with I calling to find out where he is, what is doing and with who. At first I usually express my feelings that I don’t like the way you snap at me or responded but now I just tried to be cautious of how I ask him questions so that I will not get hurt at the end of the day and I will not suddenly turn to a nagging woman that I am. I totally reduced the way I used to call him even when I have credit because I will not want him to spoil my mind by making me feel indirectly that I don’t have the right to know every thing about him except if he feels is necessary. So they say that experience is the best teacher. In the first four years of my marriage I used to feel cheated that he is not giving the attention that I needed but now I think I am more experienced. I don’t let it bother me again that he is not engaging me in discussion I simply start on if there is after dinner and if there is non keep mute and we listen to news together, after I must have asked him about his day. But really so many homes are suffering from communication because of deceit. Most couples are secretive which transcend to there relationship with children extended family, colleagues and friends.

I have realized that there are so many times I will express the way I feel about something and my partner will feel hurt. He prefer for me to keep quiet manage and endure it rather than expressing my feelings and is mostly like that with people, most especially when you are saying the truth. Truth is Bitter I have learnt time that the benefits of strengthening our feelings vocabulary are evident not only in intimate relationships but also in the professional world. I am totally convinced that it is best to shame our feelings rather than hide it and be suffering silently inside with good selection of words and proper presentation others which will go a long way in stopping resolving conflict.

Request that which would enrich live it is good to identify your needs and request for the specific things that is needed and not the once you don’t need. For security reasons when indentifying what you don’t want, what you want should also be identified, making requests in clear, positive, concrete action languages reveals what we really want. Depression is the reward one get most of the times for been good sometimes I will sit myself down and ask if this life is really worth it because is full of different negative human beings who are not trust, worthy and they don’t care. One thing is for you to know that what you are doing is bad and you are making effort to stop, it another thing is for you to know what you are doing is dataset able and continue without remorse. Na wa o. it is only God that will continue to help the upright once not to loose it by making mistakes. It is understandable that there are times we simply express our feelings, without making it clear to the listener of the exact thing that we want. Sometimes we are often not conscious of what we are requesting but not in all cases.

Most of the time to make sure the message I sent is well understood, I still tell the person or the receiver to reflect it back and tell me in his own words so that I will be clear the I am well understood even on the phone for clarity.

Expressing genuine requests also requires an awareness of our objective. If our objective is only to change people and their behavior ot to get our way, then we are not pure. A consciousness of this objective is very difficult to maintain especially for parents, teachers managers and others whose work centers around influencing people and obtaining behavioral results.

Another thing about requesting that which would enrich your life that fascinate me is that sometimes when we are conscious of what we want and express our request with care we would get a positive result. So one thing is to know the exact things that will enrich you life another thing is to be able to get them. I believe people can enjoy each other a lot better if they try to remove ego by saying what they would like without bossing others around. When making a request, it is also helpful to scan our minds for the sort of thoughts that automatically transform requests into demands. It is understood that each time we speak, the cleaner we are about what we want back, the more likely we are to get it. We should be patient enough to ask if our questions have each accurately heard. Request are received as demands when listeners believe that they will be blamed or punished if they do not comply only by showing them that we are only requesting and not demanding by indicating the desire for willingness and not force.

iv. Receiving Empathically
Emphatically is a respectful understanding of what others are experiencing. Empathy with others occurs only when we have successfully shed preconceived ideas and judgments about people. The position I occupy at my place of work warrant patience, empathy, sympathy and among others. I occupy the position of executive secretary complaint and job creation centre people that has complaint will come to me after putting it in formal letter to the chairman, they will still engage me in a one on one discussion and I do not have a choice that to listen attentive and console them if need be or assist them which ever way I can.

Even unemployed peoples requests are countless. So I found receiving empathically useful even when I came across it in the book Non Violent communication. The presence that empathy requires is not easy to maintain. The capacity to give one’s attention to a sufferer is a very rare and difficult thing to do either you are in a good mood or a bad mood.

It is often frustrating for someone needing empathy to have us assume that they want reassurance or fix it advice. I have learnt that the key ingredient of empathy is presence. We should be present wholly with the other party and what they are experiencing. This quality of presence distinguished empathy. While we may choose at times to sympathize with other by feeling their feelings, it is helpful to be aware that during he moment we are offering sympathy we are not empathizing. Most of the things I do at work is to allow others the opportunity to fully express themselves before turning in my attention to solutions. I noticed that when I proceed too quickly to what the people are saying it is either I want the person to leave my office because I am busy or I am initiated with what I am hearing and that way I am not conveying my gemlike interest in their feelings and needs instead they may get the impression that I am in a hurry to be free off them or fix their problem which is true in most cases if I am too in a hurry to reply them. But by maintain my attention on what is going on within others, I am offering them a chance to fully emplore and express their interior solve Another thing is that there are times I will be gone through one emotional or psychological pam and some one would just walked in and present an issue that requires full concentration. At that point I usually tell them to check back in twenty nine that I am busy so that I will deal with whatever it is with myself and get back to way because I cannot possibly give what I don’t have which is empathy since I need empathy too at that point. Sometimes I open up to the person and I will end up been empathize too and life goes on.

Connecting passionately with ourselves you are your own best friend. Be pationate with yourself and criticize when necessary. Since we want whatever we do to lead to the enrichment of life, it is critical to know how to evaluate events and conditions in ways that help us learn and make ongoing choice that will serve us positively. If the way we evaluate ourselves leads us to feel shame and we consequently change our behavior, we are allowing our growing and learning to be guided by self hatred. In our language there is a word with enormous power to create shame and guilt. When we communicate with ourselves on a regular basis, through inner, judgment, blame and demand, it is not surprising that our self concept gives in to feeling more like a chair than a human being. Our challenges then, when we a doing something that is not enriching life is to evaluate ourselves moment by moment in a way that inspires change both in the direction of where we would like to go and compassion for ourselves rather than out of self hatred guilt or shame. Then we should try and translate judgments when conversing with others we can train ourselves to recognize judgment self talk and to immediately focus our attention on the underlying needs. We should avoid blaming or hating ourselves when do something wrong because we are not perfect instead we should look at those things we did wrong, out line why we did them wrong and try avoiding the list of why we did them wrong the next time we are re-trying when our consciousness is focused on what we need, we are naturally stimulated towards creative possibilities for how to get that need met. While we are feeling defected because of our mistakes we should also try to forgive ourselves so that we can move on and hit our target without missing.

I believing human beings are always acting in the service of needs and values. When we listen empathically to ourselves, we will be able to hear the underlying need. Self forgiveness occurs the moment this empathic connection is made then we are able to recognized how our choice was an attempt to serve life. The process of our regrets and self forgiveness frees us in they direction of learning and growing. I earnestly believe that a important form of self compassion is to make choices motivated purely by our desire to contribute to life rather than out of fear, guilt, shame, duty or obligation. When we are conscious of the life enriching purpose, behind an action we take, when the sole energy that motivates us is simply to make life wonderful for others and ourselves then the sky will be the limit. In all, with every choice you make, be conscious of what need it serves.

v. Expressing Anger Fully
We are never really upset because of what others day or do. The cause of anger lies in our thinking in thoughts of blame and judgment. I do really get upset seriously when I use my money to take care of some things in the house and end up not getting money to take care of my own privative needs. I will now take it on my husband after series of thinking most especially when he is not showing that he cares when I am expecting that he should give an attention to my needs even if he cannot provide them buy by caring with good and soothing words that will even make me feel goods and not miss those things that I need. To me when anger is expressed positively chances are that one will be belief of whatever it is one has on the mind. I feel it is better to let it out other then bottling what is bringing unhappiness. Even at the place of work it is essential to say what you have in your mind other than reflecting it in your attitude towards work. Like when I am extremely upset I will not be able to do things with a free mind. What I do then is so first of take a deep breath to control the way my hearts is pumping because of anger. After which I will now sit down quietly and identify the thoughts that are making me angry.

There is this saying that the more you hear others the more they will hear you. I totally disagrees because I have practiced it an I found out that some people are just uncaring.

I will continue using the example of a man and a woman. A husband knows that the wife has become his responsibility even though she is working and all her money too is going to the house. Then the husband does not even care to ask how she will make her hair her make-up kit, and some clothe even no pocket money. But he likes her looking good and if she decides to do that from her money without assisting him in some vital project it will be an issue and it has been on an on. What do you expect the woman to do. This has happened to me and it got me very upset that I had unleash the anger on him that when he met me single I was more beautiful than the way I am in his house. I now have pimples easily because of stress but I thank God for his wisdom that I have applied to have a peace of mind when it comes to my needs that are not been met and it still ask for more wisdom.

1. How will these ideas or lessons, help you in practical ways, both in your daily, personal life and in helping you to create a better world. If so how?

I have learned that to arrive at a mutual desire to give from the heart, we focus the light of consciousness on four areas which are observations, Feelings, Needs and Requests. As I keeping attention focused on these daily and help others do likewise, I am establishing a flow of communication back and forth, until compassion manifests naturally. What I am observing needing will just fall in place. I will continue to be of positive impact on to others I have learnt new things in the non violent communication book. I learnt that the non violent communication process which correlate with the concrete actions we observe that affect out well being. How we feel in relation to what we observe. The needs, values, desires that creates our feelings and the concrete actions, we request in order to enrich our lives. That when we use this process, we may begin by either expressing ourselves or by empathically receiving these four pieces of information from others. Using non violent communications in my interactions with my self, another person or a group of people will make me to be grounded in a natural state of compassion. After reading the of non violent communication. I learned to listen for feelings, to expressing my needs, to accepts answers that I did not always want to hear so that I can be fulfilled in my marriage without getting angry unnecessarily even though I am not the over demanding type of woman, not even demanding just when necessary. But I have decided to work harder so that I can earn more money to take are of myself the way I want without bothering my husband. It is also useful for my academic and political growth. I have learnt never to compare myself with others if not one will develop on heart attack. I have a friend that bought a plot of land without her husband knowing and she is building already and I advice her that it is not a good thing to do but she has already made up her minds. Now comparing myself with her will be a disaster for me which I wont do because my own conscience will not allow me to even try anything close to that and I like doing things that will give me a peace of mind. Another thing have learnt over the years and from the book is never to compare marriages because of individual differences just try and manage the one’s we have to be best of what we want through understanding, love and hard work.

I also learn that empathy is a respectful understanding of what others are experiencing. This will really help me in dealing with people at my place of work. That we often have a strong urge to give advice or reassurance and to explain our own position or feeling. Empathy however calls upon. I as a person to empty my mind and listen to others with my whole belief.

That the more I empathize the other party the safer t will feel. Rather than put but in the face of an angry person, empathize. I also learn to focus my attention for feelings and needs and I will no longer perceive some people to be a monster. This is going to be very useful for my marriage because I will now be focusing my attention on his feelings and needs. To bring a conversation back to life, I learnt to interrupt with empathy. Another way to bring a conservation to life is to openly express our desire and to be more connected and to request information that would help us establish that connection.

Developing my self compassion will now be a daily thing which will geared growth rather than self-hatred. I am fond of making myself feel shame but I now know that I am not helping myself. Self forgiveness should not be far from one now because I have known the truth and the truth has set me free. I have learnt to be more compassionate by been able to embrace all paints of ourselves and recognize the needs and values expressed by each part.

“Words are windows, or they are walls, they sentence us, or set us free when I speak and when I hear let the love light shrine through me Ruth Bebermeyer.

Words indeed are powerful are they need to be carefully selected to avoid heart breaks.
“What I want in my life is compassion, a flow between myself and others based on a mutual giving from the heart

Marshall, B. Rosenbergn what I feel about this is that a heart that gives grudgingly will not receive the rewards of giving. One should be able to emulate shunamite human in the Bible.
Do not Judge and you will not be judged For as you judge others, so you will yourselves be Judged Holy

It is a word of wisdom for the fact that we ourselves are imperfect therefore we should not be the first to judge others

“Observe!! There are few things as important as religious as that; Fredrick Buchner.
It is good to first of all observe to avoid mistakes

“People are disturbed not by the view they take of them” Epictetus
Yeah it is true, it is the view, and the effect of those things that got one disturbed.
Let us become the change we seek in the world”. Mahatma Gandhi

Leadership for Dummies
Assessment by Aremu Abosede Oluwaseun (Nigeria)

2. What are the main ideas the author is trying to convey?

The book is trying to convey that natural leaders don’t just happen nor does anyone have a divine right to lead or rule. Leaders have the ability to inspire people to go beyond what they think they are capable of doing, making it possible for a group to attain a goal that was previously thought impossible or unattainable leaders carry their follows along by inspiring their trust, acting consistently and motivating then by words and deeds. He further said one cannot be a leader if he or she is afraid of responsibilities and accountability. Three key leadership abilities were identified which are
(1) Elite the cooperation of others
(2) Listen well
(3) Place the needs of other above your own needs.

To be a good leader one must be able to elicit for cooperation, of others, have the ability to listen well and place the needs of other above your own making sure that you an able to sacrifice for a greater goal. There are leadership myths; one of Atem is the myth of the natural leader. Most peplum believe that leader rule by divine right another myth exists the of natural leader which is refined to sword in the stone doctrine which contend that only one single person, pure of hear and purpose, can draw a sword. Embedded in a stone and be a ‘claimed the new king. The myth has been used for generation to foreclose entire group of people from leadership roles. Another aspect of the book is the issue of command but use the principle of diplomacy in dealing with the followers you don’t command. Command is just the authority to be in the leadership.

Commanders are not fit to be in the leadership position most of the time because of the veto power they use because all they are after is to manage task and people. Leader is an integral component interaction. All leadership position is temporary and a leader gets just so many chances to succeed before the followers works elsewhere for another leader. A leader should be at alert at all times and be able to make good moral decisions. Whatever the decisions is, it must be in the interest of the follower and not for selfish interest. One of the criteria for leadership is to be able to elicit co-operation may begin with a committee that decision on a goal that will benefit the community at large. Another factor that can make leadership inspire is the desire to improve the lot of the people. A leader can decide to help one person a time, group of people or an entire community financially. The author also explain the difference between a hero and a leader, but they are often regarded as the same thing which in most cases they are no hero often becomes a leader having been able to do what people see to be impossible. As it was learnt that leaders do not always emerge naturally, some people still seem to become leader naturally while others don’t. Some of the people that attain the position of been a leader has connection with personality traits which can be develop too.

Similarly with perseverance and handwork, anyone can develop his or her own leadership traits. One does not have to be necessarily higher educated before one can be a leader. Many leader are not schooled leader may have to assume various role to turn a vision into reality. They are bound to face different obstacles and a good leader needs to be able to respond to each problem appropriately. A leader is like the head of a pilgrimage or a journey of discovery. As the head the leader needs to know where the group is going in other to strategies logically on known to get there collectively.

The leaders job is to select and articulate the target in the future toward which the organization should direct its energy. Not only is it necessary for great leaders to live their jobs, but it is very necessary to live the vision serving as the living embodiment of what an enter pries goat are and as an example for those efforts are necessary to get the job done. Knowing why one is be chose to lead very important as the possibility that your selection to a leadership position is not necessarily a reflection of total trust in your abilities to get the job done. Assuming the new position with eye’s open without ego will help you assess situations realistically. There is always a reason for something to happen. Most are times people are been chosen as a leader to see if they will fall, to see the person succeeding or by default. These reasons correspond clearly with transitional leadership situation and hierarchical leadership.

One of the central components of leadership is listening. If you are accepting a leadership position, the first thing you need is a lot of information. A leader should rate himself on vision, creativity and goal your mission is to make your group a winner, not just a contender. As a leader you should be able to ask yourself two questions for a start.

The question of what you are expected to accomplish and what you can accomplish that is not expected of you. That is because mission combines an objective or a goal with reason forgoing there. Clarifying a mission, either by setting a strategy or by finding out why a particular objective was chosen which will help you met the expectation of your superiors. Therefore a mission is in effect the battle plan for accomplishing a goal. The use of SWOT analysis will also enhance performance. In which SWOT: strength weakness opportunities and threats. When they are put on a grid, they give you a power tool assessing your mission. Leaders set out on mission impossible when they are put on a grid, they give you a powerful tool to assessing your mission. Leader set out on mission impossible when they are expected to fail or at least are not expected to have a complete.

2. What were the seven ideas which were personally most important to you and why? List these seven ideas followed by an explanation after each one as to why it was important to you. Use personal examples from your life.

i. What it takes to be a leader.
One interesting thing knows that anyone can be a leader and that leader and that leadership position is temporary. This made me remember when I was in school during my undergraduate days. I was giving a task side a group of twenty. At first I find it very difficult to manage because there were too many things to do at a time. Along the line, it became easy because at the point I had already fine-tune how to go about achieving the task I was given. Even I had to delegate most of the duties to the group member with strict supervision and at the end of the day, the target were met and we were given the highest mark because, we were able to achieve unexpected things, been a leader is quite challenging too because need to have economic power since the followers will be dependent on the leader. Another example was in 2008 in my community. I was saddled with the responsibility of coordinating environmental sanitation programmes. I have also occupied leadership position at one point or the other at the political circle and I performed beyond reasonable doubt to the glory of god I was also the captain of university of Lagos table team during my university.

Leadership is an integral component of human interaction. When I was in the leadership position even as an individual now, I made sure that I listen to people more and I sacrifice a lot even in my family. Taking on the role of parent means accepting a leadership role in ensuring the well being and survival of a baby. It really goes a long way and it’s been from childhood before adult life you were taking the lead as a child all the time. As you learning how to study, you took the lead for learning how to manage your time, how to make the decisions to defer fun in favor of work. You may have been leading yourself but you were still leading.

Leadership is a happy joining of seining who has the desire, training and circumstances to lead, with a group of people that requires leadership. To actually be successful; with the task, a good must be a chief strategist as a strategist, you are sure your goals are crystal clear and well articulated. At this pant all possible hindrance and min – steps should be removed

ii. The responsibilities of a leader
The main responsibility of a leader is to provide the climate necessary for creating growth and success. Many things can be done as a leader, but ultimately, if your groups mission is not successful and you don’t manage to grow something whether it is the skill and knowledge in a group of kids you are mentoring or the profits of a major enterprise then you have failed in your most basic responsibility is simple. But for the group to be successful would be the achievement of the any good leaders. Most leaders are heartless and selfish. An example is likened to political leaders are not true leaders. They are leaders that usesu people for their own selfish interest after which they dump them.

iii. Leadership in Everyday life
Leadership is about embracing responsibility, but not only when it suits you. Some of the toughest leadership challenges are in your own environment.

Volunteering is also an aspect of leadership because it is a way of placing the needs of others above your own. And been an effective volunteer you have to develop listening skill so that you can give others what they really need rather than just what you think you care capable of doing. I was a volunteer for the campaign of total eradication of HIV/AIDS in Nigeria by going an Anti Anti club. Every of the instruction given by the supervisor then was strictly adhere to and I made sure that the group I was delivered the task been given to us. I was also volunteer for the camping of good governance in Nigeria. I have also been a volunteer by impacting table – tennis skills into young children. Volunteerism has to so with time and when you are notable to manage time, their will be problem. Finding time is one of the first test of leadership skills. And one of things I do well as a volunteer and a leader is to improvise for the things that were not readily available and finding time in a busy schedule which often calls for creativity in the extreme it is possible to make time for volunteer work, but you have to work on your schedule and become efficient in using time in other parts of your life. That means that you cannot procrastinate and allow things to build up by sacrificing pleasure for hard work.

Volunteering at the head and heart level means that you are already interested in the existing vision of a better world that excite you enough to make you do commit your time and energy.

iv. Remember, they are not electing you Dictator for life
I am so interested in this because it has a lot to do with me as I occupy leadership position admost everyday and I am a potential governor of a state therefore I need all knowledge about leading people righting without feeling pompous and selfish just because I always find my self in a leadership position does not meas that I will always be the one leading at all times because every leadership position is temporary leadership takes place because of a need, a goal and a person willing to assume responsibility. It is often being in the right place at the right time. When you assume a leadership position you are expected to do things rightly by placing your followers needs above yourself. There are different types of leadership as I have learnt here that circumstances sometimes, require leadership and the right person to leaders available and it is known as situational leadership. Another type of leadership is transitional or hierarchical leadership which it our opposite of situational leadership.
Leader is seen as a transient condition for home reasons.

The situation that requires leadership may come to an end. As it is known that leadership is about helping individual or group of people to reach their goals after which the goal is met, the leader seize to be in the position in most cases and not at all times.

v. Times change and circumstance change it is true that today’s respected leader may be out of touch with the realities of tomorrow. Tomorrow’s struggle may infact be diametrically opposed to everything a lead stood for yesterday. As we know that change is a constant thing in life, even a leader can also change from who he used to be. I am meant to understood in the book that the best place to find out about situational leadership is to read a daily newspaper. The new’s report are full of people who responded to circumstances at exactly the right time to fulfill a leadership role. Situational leadership is all around. To become a situational leader I need to recognize when the time and circumstances combine to require leadership and be willing and able to assume the responsibility of leading and in doing this successfully I must listen, take responsibility for helping others achieve their goals and draw out the group’s cooperation so that the goal can actually be reached. An interesting decision should be taken to safe the lifes of the followers. A story of Chinese man was shared and I gained a lot from it. A Chinese dissident leader was said to go on fighting for what he believe in, even though it will cost him another thirteen years in Jail, he could easily renounce his belifes and live a normal life but by scarifying himself for a cause, freedom and democracy Wenli hopes to inspire millions of ordinary Chinese who may not otherwise, have the courage to fight for political change. In this regard, xu Wenli exhibits heroism. I really learnt many things from this short story and I will emulated the good example

vi. Why Depend teams? No one is an island in life and as such we need ourselves for work to be effective and efficiently done. Building effective team is one of the most important aspects of leadership because it is your team that is going to do the heavy lifting. I have been able to learn how to pass on team knowledge, how to support encourage in order for the work to be done. Team create many more hard and leads and two or more good heads is better than one. Most projects are very complicated and no one person can hope to master all the details of a single undertaking, no matter how smart and intelligent the person is. A good leader may retain ultimate responsibility for a project but most at the same time delegate it is best for each team member to lead each portion of the work in which is most expert and the leader’s role at this point will be to combine all the works together for proper presentation. I have also understood that it is the role of the leaders to plan with the member’s while he must have outline the mission, vision, reasonability and glory. Most at times the leader does more of this and take up the glory more at the came time.

Team members by accepting the responsibilities gain certain rights that don’t exist within command structures. At that point of been responsible, you gain ownership of your work. You and your team are the sole beneficiaries of the output of your work or it can be figurative in that you wind up taking pride in your accomplishments. Ownership is another way of describing acceptance of responsibility and with it go benefit of success and the penalties of failure when you are delegated with duties, you are by definition becoming a leader. The soil of entrepreneurial activity is teamwork because people who have been successful working on a project for a company are far more likely to join together and collectively g out on their own, because they know they have a record of accomplishment under their belts. Team members gain accountability, it team members are accountable to the team. In a command organisation, orders are given from the top down and people are expected to obey, But in a teamwork organisation, a good portion of the decisions flow from the team members upward to the leader, who has ultimate authority. When team members come to the leader with a proposal, the leader is responsible forgiving them a thorough, hearing and asking a lot of questions. There is nothing more destructive to team management than the human need to blame someone when things go wrong. A prospective team member has the right to feel that he/she is accepted into the team not only for the specific talents to be contributed but also as an individual whose personality traits will also amplify and strengthen the team’s abilities. There opportunity blame is not an ideal thing to do in the team accepting the idea of collective failure accentuate the need to forgiving.

vii. When followers Wont follow:- There are times a leader losses his followership because of one thing or the other that is not known to the leader. There is need of knowing why? The prosperity of leaders to want to have things done there own way is one of the reasons why they loose followership. I learnt that as a leader I should be able to ask myself series of questions when things are going wrong. When I begin to see changes in the reaction of my followers towards me because leaders and followers are like parent and children when a child does something wrong the parent need to ask themselves series of questions as to fathom what actually went wrong vision must meet the act of been achievable within the context of the resources. A failure of vision can come about for any of the following reasons that I need to adhere to strictly to be a good leader.

The vision was to limited and was insufficient to motivated people to do great things. If a vision is too narrowly conceived, groups lose their enthusiasm and motivation and they will move on to something better than what you have to offer.

The vision of the competitor supersede your own. Even the best vision becomes worthless when someone else comes up with a better idea.

If the vision is to grand and therefore unachievable. It discourages people and makes them believe that they are wasting their time believe that they are wasting their time building what the Italians call “Cathedrals” in the desert.

It is of great necessity for a leader to be a visionary and may out different strategist of achieving the set back. Failures of mission are failures of planning. A good leader should be able to see ahead of things and devoid anythings that will make them fail. Often leaders develop a sense of mission that blinds them to larger considerations. Good leaders must no why they are doing what they are doing and how it fits within a larger context, so that they don’t in advertently squander resources and lose the trust and confidence of the group.
In a nutshell, I have learnt to always have a sense of purpose to be a self actualize, an achiever and above all a good leader with a sound mind.

viii. Ten characteristics of a true header learning and working more on the characteristics of a good leader is an interesting thing I will like to be part of. Eagerness is one of the characteristics of a good leader that is inevitable because leaders embrace responsibility and they manage people. People who have the potentials to be leaders do not shirk from accepting responsibility which I sometimes dodge. Reading about it a gain have inspired me to be more responsible. Even though is unpleasant because anyone can do the glamorous things but the real potential leader is the person who volunteers for the tasks that no one else wants to do. Henceforth I will be more eager to accept responsibility and be more devoted to meaningful things.

Another aspect is cheerfulness maintaining a cheerful equilibrium in times of trouble helps everyone around. When I am tensed with responsibilities sometimes, I frown a lot and I don’t hesitate to pass bulk. But after reading the book I found out that I still have more work to do to actually be an epitome of a good leader. Honesty is another thing I don’t joke with because the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom and when you fear God, you will be honest if you want to lead people, you will be if you want to lead people, you have to communicate information directly and honestly. You have to keep your people and the people to whom you report to grounded in the reality of your situation. Absolutely nothing is wrong is telling your because even the bible at least that our yes should be yes and our no should be no leaders are resourceful even if the available resources is inadequate. A leader is a goal gather, it interest me to know more that my roles as a leader is to get the resources that will be sufficient for my team to attain its goal, but sometimes the money, the people and he physical resources just are not there and I don’t have to give up “Whao” what a challenges.

Leaders are also persuasive, one will not get followers if you cannot persuade them that doing so in their utmost interest.

Good leader learn how to understand this and they learn early on how to share information and how to co-operate with people who may have something they need. Good leaders know that co-operation is actually easier than coercion. Being co-operative rather than confrontational allows you to operate from a position of strength without having to exert strength leaders are altruistic, courageous, supportive and assertive. All this are of great important to me and I am happy that I know them.

ix. Ten ways to master leadership skills: I do really yearn – everyday to learn more on different ways of mastering leadership skills. It is of opinion that leaders are constantly looking for new and better sources of information every seconds which is absolutely true. Even better planning tools and methods of springs the people they lead. Make new discoveries from every situation and every person you come in contact with working on my preparation is wholesome choosing a cause and making it my own is another skill I found very useful. I choose to be awe advocate for good governance and involvement of women in key or relevant positions in the political offices. Having an open mind is also an interesting skill because your vision is your own but you have to be open to the thoughts and dreams of others who may have ideas similar to yours. If you can see the benefit in someone else’s ideas, your own ideas will become better, more dimensionalized.
Rehearsing of speeches is one kill I have found very useful over the years, far back in my university days when I prepare for seminar presentation all I do is to stand before the wall and be rehearsing all I have to say. I learnt that the more I link myself to the presentation the presentation the more effective it will be for me to be an orator.

When you are rehearsing have someone you trust such as your spouse and critique your delivery. Being disciplined leads to achievement of set objective. This also means to be careful about how you form your teams. If you want your teams to succeed, don’t be biased or partial, strive constantly to find the best team members.

Be time conscious and maters deadline and you have to be the person who sets and enforces the deadlines. Find out the exact time needed to complete a given task and adhere strictly to it.
The biggest mistake most leaders make is allowing a distance to grow between themselves and their followers. Address your Group’s concern swiftly and attend to issues immediately without procrastinating.

Remember to have a listening ear, co-operate with the world around you and always put others before yourself.

3. How will these ideas or lesson help you in a practical way, both in your daily, personal life and in helping you to create a better work if so how?

Indeed the book has inspired me a lot. I have learnt series of things concerning leadership that I know will transform my life tremendously. As it is that anyone can be a leader and knowing fully well that all leadership positions are temporary and not permanent I will make good use of any position. I found myself and build more on the qualities that make up a good leader. I will also be more responsible and responsive to things or issues around me to affect other people’s life positively. Have also learnt that there is need to be involve in more of volunteer work. I should be proactive and be more willing accept any given task.

The three key leadership abilities is now a strong tool for me now daily and to transform the world. Eliciting the cooperation of others, ability to listen well without jumping into conclusion and placing the needs of others above your own needs. The trick to becoming a leader is to be able to elicit co-operation, to listen to the needs of others and put other people’s needs ahead of your own with great consistency. It is known that one of the reasons that entrepreneurial companies end to grow faster than traditional companies is that they are less structured and because they are often short of key people. Too much of the command structure is not about leading at all, but about managing, keeping the enterprises moving in the directions it is already moving rather than finding out whether a new direction should be followed. There should be consistency and focus for a positive achievement.

One should be ready at all times in order to assume the position of situational leader is often ready to take up responsibility at the moment action is required. I have also learnt to be fixing problems rather than fixing blame. Solving problems and assigning blame operate the same way. When you find a problem and solve it, you are completing an online transaction because you have not interrupted the flow of events.

4. Are there brief quotes from the book which really got your attention? If so please list and comment on them.

Unlimited Power
Assessment by Aremu Abosede Oluwaseun (Nigeria)

1. What is the main idea that the author is trying to convey in the book?
The author is trying to explain explicitly what power is all about. He said power is a very emotional word and peoples’ responses to it varied as some people can go to any length to acquire power by force. Power has a negative connotation to some people while others list over it seriously. Power is a constant thing in life and there is a great need for every individual to shape their lives the way they want all else someone else will do that for you. You do what you want to do or you follow another person’s agenda. Anthony Robbins said ultimate power is the ability to produce the results you desire most and create value for others in the process. It is the ability to change your life, to shape your perceptions, to make are different types of power ranging from shared power to imposed power of which the best of it all is to affect other people’s life positively.

It is one thing to have power, and it is another thing to act on it. Action is what unites every great success. Action is what produces results. Knowledge is only potential power until it comes into the hands of someone who knows the exact thing to do at that often we get caught in the mental trap of seeing enormously successful people and thinking they are where they are because they have some special gift, but a closer look shows that the greatest gift successful people have over the average person is their ability to get themselves to take action. For power to be highly effective communication has to be the key. Communication is power. Those who have mastered its effective use can change their own experience of the world and the world experience them. Interaction with the outside world have a take on how successful one will be personally, emotionally, socially and financially.

Even the level of success one experience internally depends on how you communicate to yourself. You are the one who decides how to feel and act based upon the ways you choose to perceive your life. It is important to remember that emotions like depression do not happen to you. You don’t catch depression. You create it like every other result in your life through specific mental and physical actions. The author said it is a great effort to create depression, it is hard work which requires taking specific types of action. People who have attained excellence follow a consistent path to success. It is called the ultimate success formula. The first step to this formula is to know your outcome, to define precisely what you want and take action. The action to be taken should be the one that would create the greatest possibility of producing the excepted result. It is also important to develop the sensory acuity to recognize the kinds of responses and results you are getting from your actions and to not as quickly as possible if they are taking you closer to your goals or farther away.

In the book “Unlimited Power”, Anthony Robins wrote that in every man and woman’s life there comes a time of ultimate challenge a time when every resource we have is tested. A time when life seem unfair some people use such tests as opportunities to become better people others allow these experiences of life to destroy them.

The book also pointed out that it is important to review you outcomes on a regular basis. Sometimes we change; but out outcomes remain the same because we have the same things for our lives. That it is good to ask specifically of someone who has the resources, the knowledge, the capital, the sensitivity or the business experience to assist or enlighten you to have an headway. The surest way to ensure failure is to convey ambivalence. If you are not convinced about what you are asking for, how can anyone else be? So it is better to do it with absolute conviction. As in there should be seriousness from your own side. Be able to show that you are sure of what you want, you are sure you will succeed and you will create value not just for you but for the person you are asking as well.

In summary, the book is trying to explain that communication is very important. That the way you communicate with yourself and the outside world has a great impact in achieving greatness and if you would win a man to your cause, first convince him that you are on his side. Be ready to add value to whatever you want in life and believe in your desire. There is these saying that undertake something difficult, it will do you a whole lot of good unless you try something you will never grow. Communicate positivity to yourself and launch deep.

2. What were the seven ideas which were personally most important to you and why? List these seven ideas followed by an explanation after each one as to why it was important to you. Use personal examples from your life.

A. The seven lies of success.
Being successful in life is part of attaining the purpose of life and I am so much interested in knowing how to be successful in life. The path to success consists of knowing your outcome, taking action, knowing what results you are getting and having the flexibility to change until you are successful. Everything happens for a reason and a purpose and it serves us. A vivid example was when I missed the masters in Sport Administration and Management Entrance Examination. I was very furious when I missed the examination that tears was actually rolling down my face but to my greatest surprise I was told that the questions were pure mathematics and I was highly favored when I was later given an opportunity to write a make-up examination. I was given a question that I found very easy to tackle. So in a way my missing the examination in the first place was for me to write an examination that will be very easy for me to answer. Having ready different examples in the book unlimited power. I realize that there is nothing like failure there are only results and it depends on how you handle the result. Another example of my life is related to my political career. I have contested for councillorship position on two different occasions but have been having result that I do not really want at the time they came but I took it in good faith and I have since been working towards achieving my goal. I am not giving up but also planning against the next election putting different strategies on ground. I am also encouraged with the story of Abraham Lincoln that had different negative results in life but he never for once see them as failures, because if he had seen them as failures he would not have become the President of the United State of American when he did. Belief in failure is a way of poisoning the mind. When we store negative emotions, we affect our physiology, our thinking process and our state. One of the greatest limitations for most people is their fear of failure. I have even come to realize that if one does not try something, one can never move from one position to the other. One would be stagnant and you will not know your stance. Therefore, there is no such thing as failure is only result, you always produce result therefore make do with what you have at hand and see how you can transform it to an ideal result that you want by paying more attention to the things that actually got you derailed from achieving the set objective in the first instance. Then at the second, third or fourth attempt, one will definitely get it right and the story will change for good. So also failure is seen as been a temporary setback in life.

B. Limitation Disengage:
What do you want? As success or failure begin with belief, whether you believe you can do something or you believe you can’t, you are right because even if one has the skills and resources to do something, once you tell yourself you can’t, you shutdown the neurological pathways that can make it possible. If you tell yourself you can do something, you open up the pathways that can provide you with the resources for achievement.

That is very correct because I could remember vividly that I limited myself from been a professional table-tennis player by retiring from playing active table-tennis when I did. I still have some of my set playing the game actively now and they are professionals but badly and I am still aiming for the best.

The main thing I now know is that there are no limits to what you can do. Your key is power of modeling. Excellence can be duplicated. If other people can do something all you need to do is model them with precision and even do better. I have also learnt that success and failure start with having a potent goals and not impotent one’s because if the goals are impotent it will not fertilize and there will not be manifestation of such goals. I realized that the resources one has the more power you are actually developing. As in when you have more resources at hand, you will find out that your human capacity is getting stronger day by day. A key part that really caught my attention here is knowing what you want. The unconscious mind is constantly processing information in such a way as to move us in particular directions. Even at the unconscious level, the mind is distorting, deleting and generating. So, before the mind can work efficiently, we must develop our perception of the outcomes we expect to reach. There is another thing I also learnt here, it is about not been consistent with what you are doing. At a point in my life I got confused of the kind of job that I want until recently that I made up my mind to actually be in the sport sector as an administrator and I am working seriously at it. Unlike before, when I was always going for one oil company aptitude test or the other. So, it is pertinent to know what you want, pursue it and give it adequate attention for your mind to be surrounded by it and it will become achievable. There are so many people that still falls in the category of doing all things. That is jack of all trade and master of none. They are constantly lost in a fog of confusion. They go one way then another. They try one thing then shift to the other. They move down one path and then retreat in the opposite direction. Their problem is simple; they don’t know what they want because I had actually been in that shoe before. Thank God I am delivered now. It is quite simple one has to know the target to be and to hit the target.

C. The following steps or rules are quite useful to me.
i. State your outcome in positive terms.
ii. Be as specific as possible.
iii. Be in control.
iv. Verify that your outcome is ecologically sound and desirable.

D. The Power of Precision
It is possible to get whatever you want. All you need to do is to follow the guidelines for asking intelligently and precisely.

Ask Specifically: Describing what you want to yourself and someone else will give it more light and it will make the expansion of the identified desire to be realized and achievable in class. For example, I said I have decided to be a sport administrator and I am discussing with a banker, stock broker and procurement officer, that means I am not in the right track since it is not the field of sport. But now that I am convinced first, and I am in the field of sport even discussing with administrators in the field. I am actually on the right track and asking specifically.

Ask Someone Who Can Help You: This is very important because no one is an Island. One cannot walk alone you need someone and not just someone but the right person that will actually put you through because even the bible says when you ask you shall be given, seek ye shall found and knock the door will be opened to you. It is ideal to be with someone that is highly resourceful, knowledgeable, enthusiastic and brave. For example, there was a time I had problem with a particular course in my undergraduate days, I had to attach myself to someone that knows more than I do and not someone I am better than and I actually got what I wanted with the score of distinction because I asked someone that was in the position to help me and not anyhow person.

Create Value for the person you are asking: Relating this to symbiosis relationship is the perfect match because sometimes you should have something to offer whoever you want assistant from. It should be give and take kind of thing like adding value to the person. The value you create may only be a feeling or a sensibility or a dream. Show the person how your idea can benefit him or her too. There was a time we needed a loan in my family and we told the person what we wanted it for with interest. The person saw the gain in it for him and also buy the intent of the loan.

Ask with focused, congruent belief: The surest way to ensure failure is to convey ambivalence. There should be no doubt about what you want to do. If you are not convinced about what you are asking of, how would somebody else be? It is quite inspirational to learn that one should be optimistic and add value to whatever you are doing. Event to yourself and to the person concerned.

Ask Until You Get What You Want: The game of politics is a game of number and it is about who get what, when and how. After the last election and I was not picked for the primaries I had to get to start bidding for appointment. The people on ground were more than the available positions and I had no choice than to keep on pressing, asking until I get what I want. I think it is actually important to ask until a positive change take place. As at the time I was asking for appointment, I made sure communications with the right people were regular. There are countless ways we sabotage real communication by using lazy, overgeralized language. It is said that effective communication have to be attuned to fluff when it pops up and know how to ask questions to gain specificity. The closer one is in getting the full representation of the other person’s internal experience, the more you can effect change.

E. Anchoring Yourself to Success
Communication is power. Those who have mastered its effective use can change their own experience of the world and the world’s experience of them. All behavior and feeling find their roots in some form of communication. People who have attained excellence follow a consistent path to success with effective communication which is the unlimited power.

The point here is that most attunes, the records that are not been played are not going to build up and explode. Even Anthony Robbins wrote that nothing has any power over us than hat which we give room for anchor. Anchoring is a way to give an experience permanence. We can change our internal representatives or our physiology in a moment and create new results and those changes require conscious thoughts. I am meant to understand that anchoring make things easier, it is easier to create a consistent triggering mechanism that will automatically cause you to create the state you desire in any situation without you having to think about it. When something is anchored effectively enough, it will be there whenever you want it. Anchoring is a way of ensuring that we always have access to our greatest resources.

Anchors can be created whenever a person is in an intense state where the mind and body are strongly involved together and a specific stimulus is consistently and simultaneously provided at the peak of the state, the stimulus and the state becomes neurologically linked. A vivid example is my involvement with international global leadership school. I ought to have graduated but just because I did not create anchors I found myself been deactivated and I am still benefitting because I will read my books in time, do my assessment send it across and remain focus by putting all that I have learnt into practice in my daily life. So also, I used anchoring during my active days in sport. Then, I was known as clutch player with having a notion of do or die when I am in a match which has made me to go into most resourceful and effective state, from which I usually produce outstanding performance. To me then, all matches are important. I play as if my life depends on the match with full concentration without allowing distractions. Another thing about anchor is that for it to be totally effective, when you provide the stimulus you must have the person you want to help or assist to be fully associated and be in congruent state with his whole body fully involved. Is like a company does not give the workers the room to be fully involved in the business and see it as their own. In this case, the company and the staff would not be congruent. There should be able to be congruency between the company and the staff for high productivity, effectiveness and efficiency.

Another thing I will not forget about this book is how to anchor. I now know more about anchoring compare to the way I see it before. Anchoring works in an instant to summon up your most powerful able to make a decision quickly, effectively and easily, you might select the knuckle of your finger. Next think of a time in your life when you felt totally decisive, step into that situation in your mind and fully associated to it so you feel the same way you did then. At the peak of the experience, while you feel most decisive, squeeze your knuckle and make a sound in your mind like the word Yes. This is entirely new to me and I will give it a trial. Anchoring can be remarkably successful in overcoming fears and changing behaviors. Though anchoring, it is amazing to watch how quickly someone’s state can change from despair or fight confidence.

F. Value Hierarchies: The Ultimate Judgment of Success
One thing I have come to realize is that one need to become consciously aware of the rules we have for ourselves and others or failure. Setting desires is one thing, adding values to them is another and they are intervened values are about what is most important to you. Your values are your belief systems about like executive level of judgment in the human brain. Our values are the things we all fundamentally need to move toward. In fact, most of our values have been subjected to change due to one thing or the other. Our values also change when we change goals or self image. If a goal is set by me to be the next candidate for the House of Assembly position in 2015, I know when I reach that position I will be earning more money, affect lifes positively more because at that point, the resources would be more and I will also be expecting different things from others. The value of how hard I will work from now on will also change for example, I want to be one of the graduate student of international institute of global leadership school soon. All I have decided to do is to change the value I have for it and work more harder for excellence of goal. So also, planning to be the next member of the state house of assembly would change my horizon. What I regard as a nice car will be quite different. Even the people I will be quite spending my time will also change. It will be people that can add value to what I want to become thereby matching up with my new self-image. Instead of going to get a beer with the boys, I will prefer to be in the gathering of men and women of values sipping champagne mapping out strategies of becoming the choosing and preferred candidate. Many people see values in different ways but I believe it is better to discover what really values are and why they are the challenge for most people is that many of these values are unconscious. Often people does not know their values. They do things just because others are doing it in fact they don’t even know why they do certain things, they just do them. Values are one of the most important tools for discovering how a person works. To deal with people, one need to know what is most important to them, specifically what their hierarchy of values is because people feel very uncomfortable and suspicious of individuals who have values different from them. Much of the conflict that people have in life results from conflicting values. This is also applicable to states at the local and international levels. I now have a clear insight on what value hierarchy is all about. Knowing this has now empowered me to resolve any relationship or any internal representation that is causing conflict. Value hierarchy to me is similar to priorities. There is no real success except in keeping with your basic values and setting the priorities right.

G. Distinctions of Excellence Metaprograms
This is basically talking about how different human beings are as fingers are not equal. Human beings are as fingers are different perspective and it is essential to know how to deal with different people and situations. There is a saying that one man’s food is another man’s poison. Therefore, to get the best result one has to apply the right method to get the right result. You cannot put a square peg in a round hole and expect it to fit in it has to be round peg for round hole. People have patterns of behavior and they have patterns by which they organize their experience to create those mental patterns can you expect to get your message across, whether it is trying to get someone to buy a car or to understand that you really love him/her. Even though, the situations may vary, there is a consistent structure to how people understand things and organize their thinking. An example is a man that feels it is good and safe for him to be seeing the child he has outside wedlock in the presence of the woman at the expense of his own wife and children and this same issue, another man sees it as been dangerous and unfair on the side of his legal wife and children because of the woman outside. He believes in sending school fees, feeding allowance to her account and probably see her in school instead of going to see the daughter where the mother is because anything can happen even if he does not want but the woman might want and it would pose a threat to the marriage he has with another woman been the legal wife. Looking at this analogy now you will see that the two men sees this premise from different perspectives and care needs to be taken on the sides of their legal wives to avoid breakage of their marriage. The wife has the wisdom to handle this. I have also learned that at is good to have an internal frame of reference to be a good leader. A truly effective leader has to have a strong internal frame. He would not be much of a leader if he spend all his time asking people what they thought of something before he took any action. A truly effective leader has to be able to take in information and advice from the outside as well as surf them for effective and outstanding decision to be taken that will affect lives positively towards sustainable development. When a leader does not, leadership becomes mehalomania.

3. How will these ideas or lesson help you in a practical way, both in your daily, personal life and in helping you to create a better work if so how?

I have indeed learnt so many useful things and my bowels of knowledge has been lightened up. My wealth of knowledge has been increased and it has added more value to me which would definitely transcend to the way I behave and see things thereby transforming the world around me. So far, t jave be able to learn on how to grow and become empowered through effective communication.

I have also learnt to add values to my desires for it to really, make sense and be achievable and I will be doing more of that now. So also, the issue of setting the priorities right which is the inerrancy of value. I now have new hierarchy of values and these will be usedful in my everyday dealings. I am now going to be putting other people into consideration as we see things differently and since we are not equal there is bound to be conflict. I have learnt how to manage such conflicts in my work place, educational career even my marriage and my relationship with people generally. The world is indeed a global village and there are so many areas in a less developed country like Nigeria that still needs to be touched. With the wealth of knowledge I have been able to gathered so far, I will encourage the youth to take every seconds of there lifes seriously and engage in meaningful things other than been involve in destroying lifes and properties. I will continue in giving motivational tasks to secondary school students undergraduates and even my peers and elderly people towards having a meaning and a peaceful living. I will also spread the news of developing and cultivating good reading habits as it builds humans intellectually and enhance performance leading to human capacity building.
One will definitely be useful to oneself and the society at large when you are sound upstairs because one cannot practically give what you do not have. It is good to have power and use it positively because with personal power you will be able control what affects you directly or indirectly. The people without power simply act on the images and commands that are directed their way. Power today is the ability to communicate effectively and persuade. If you are persuader with no money, you will persuade someone to give you money.

Communicating what you have to offer is what life is all about when you look at it critically. There fore persuasion and communication are very effective tools which I have them now. Therefore the means to change massive numbers of peoples internal representation, and thus massive numbers of people states, massive numbers of peoples behaviors, it is available to me now. By effectively using my understanding of the triggers to human behaviors and the present day technology for communicating these new representations to the masses I will definitely be part of these that will change the future of our world of Jesus Taris.
