Abiola Omodele Daramola – Assessments

As A Man Thinketh

Assessment by Abiola Daramola (Kenya)

1. What is the main idea that the author is trying to convey in the book?

Thoughts are very powerful, a man is actually what he thinks, whereby what a man thinks either makes or mar him, the seed is the thought and the fruit is the act. A good character is not bestowed upon man it is rather an outcome of a relentless attempt towards thinking right. Man is solely responsible to master his thought and to mold his character. Man can only become the master gardener of his soul by continuously tending the garden of his mind, weeding out all the impure and unwanted thoughts, and to developing useful and pure thoughts.

The thoughts that we persist in whether negative or positive will always yield an outcome on our character and circumstances and also on our health. Positive thought yields the fruit of success, vigor and grace while negative thoughts yield an outcome failure and weakness. Thought and purpose are intertwined; your thought should be focused towards your purpose. Whatever I want to achieve or wherever I want to get to in life is only a function of my thought, as long as I can think it, I can have it. He who cherishes a beautiful vision, a lofty ideal in his heart will one day realize it, as long as you can see it on the inside, you can have it on the outside.

In all of human affairs there are efforts and there are results. The strength of the effort is the measure of the result. Chance is not. Gifts, powers, material, intellectual and spiritual possessions are the fruits of effort. They are thoughts completed, objectives accomplished, visions realized. Here ends the summary, with every of life’s endeavor, there quantity of the effort is the quantity of the result, more effort will produce more results, results does not come happen by chance but by commensurate effort, and the reward of great efforts are blessings in all areas. Whatever situation I find myself, to be wise is to be calm, you arrive at the point of calmness having gone through the long journey patience and self control.

2. What were the seven ideas which were personally most important to you and why? List these seven ideas followed by an explanation after each one as to why it was important to you. Use personal examples from your own life.

i. Every act of man springs from the hidden seeds of thought

My thoughts are very powerful because it is what creates my character and my character are the qualities that make me different from others, so my thoughts determines the quality of my life, if I have to improve on the quality of my life then the quality of my thought needs to first improve.

ii. A noble and God-like character is not a thing of favor or chance, but is the natural result of continued effort in right thinking, the effect of long-cherished association with God-like thoughts.

My character which is the quality that distinguishes me from others is not a gift or talent, but it is as a result of my conscious effort towards positive thinking and a continual outcome of positive thinking. I need to work on my thought so that I can keep reaping the fruit of joy and not bitter fruits. As long as my thoughts are pure I will continue to reap joyful fruits.

iii. Every man is where he is by the law of his being, the thoughts which he has built into his character have brought him there and in the arrangement of his life there is no element of chance, but all is the result of a law which cannot err.

I am where I am today as a result of thought, if I am not fulfilled where I am I can alter my thought and it will lead me towards getting to where I ought to be. Being a student of the Global leadership institute is one of the best decisions I have taken in life, the reason being that I have experienced a bit of delay in the area of my career despite the fact that I have a Master’s in Business Administration, i have always believed that there is something more I need to do but not sure of what exactly, but a day came when I was listening to an audio message and the minister mentioned something about Global leadership, immediately there was a click in my inner man and I noted the word inside of me, after listening to the message I went to google the word Global leadership and I found the Global leadership Institute and it is really opening me up to myself in the area of self-discovery , thereby confirming the statement “ Not what he wished and prays for does a man get, but what he justly earns. His wishes and prayers are only gratified and answered when they harmonize with his thoughts and actions.

iv. Men are anxious to improve their circumstances, but are unwilling to improve themselves, they therefore remain bound.

If I do not like where I am right now, I must be able to identify a way out and after identifying, I must be willing to make all the necessary sacrifices required to move me from where I am currently to where I am supposed to be. It all depends on me.

v. Man should conceive of a legitimate purpose in his heart, and set out to accomplish it. He should make this purpose the centralizing point of his thoughts and devote himself to its attainment, not allowing his thoughts to wander away.

Birth your purpose inside of you, devise ways of achieving it by directing your thoughts towards it and give it your all.

vi. A strong man cannot help a weaker unless that weaker is willing to be helped, and even then the weak man must become strong of himself. He must by his own efforts develop the strength which he admires in another. None but himself can alter his condition.

No one can help me to be what I want to be, if I want to be helped, I must first be willing to be helped by developing myself into what I want to be, it is not by chance but by my own effort.

vii. Your circumstances may be uncongenial but they shall not remain so if you only perceive an ideal and strive to reach it. You cannot travel within and stand still without.

If my thoughts are able to go far, the more I am able to go far in the realization and fulfillment of my purpose.

3. How will these ideas or lessons help you in a practical way, both in your daily personal life and in helping you to create a better world? If so, how?

I am to learn from circumstances be it good or bad and as I learn from one circumstance, another circumstance unfolds. I have creative power in me; I must not allow myself to be knocked down by situations and circumstances. I have also come to discover that the desires or thoughts of a man should be at par with his actions, mere thoughts without action will only yield nothing or failure. For example I have seen a lot of projects in the environment where I live in fail as a result of just thinking or desiring it will bring the desired end result without commensurate action or planning, but when thoughts aligns to action the outcome will be outstanding.

As I project my thoughts towards the fulfillment of my purpose, I must be careful to protect it from wandering away towards unbelief, anxiety and fear. My thoughts must be controlled and honest and as I continue in that, strength will emerge. As far as my thought can go will determine how far I can go in achieving my purpose in life.

4. Quotes: Are there any statements which the author made that particularly got your attention? If so, please quote them and comment as to why they were important to you.

“Man is the master of thought, the molder of character and the maker and shaper of condition, environment and destiny.”

Man plays the major role.

“Man is always the master, even in his weakest and most abandoned state.”

I can choose to be a foolish master or a wise master, when I am confronted with situations and circumstances it all depends on me.

“Only by much searching and mining are gold and diamonds obtained and man can find every truth connected with his being, if he will dig deep into the mine of his soul.”

I need to always check myself by regular self-examination by so doing I will able to discover if my thoughts are good or otherwise. To me the best way I can move towards the fulfillment of my destiny is by continuous and honest self- examination.

“He that seeketh findeth and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.”

I can only find whatever I patiently and ceaselessly search for.

“A man cannot directly choose his circumstances but he can choose his thoughts and so indirectly, yet surely shape his circumstances.”

The thoughts of man can be controlled while his circumstances cannot be controlled, however when a man is able to control his thoughts, his circumstances will be subject to his authority.

“Thought is the fount of action, life and manifestation; make the fountain pure and all will be pure.”

The thoughts of a man determines the totality of his life, if his thoughts are pure the sum total of his life will be pure as well.

“He who has strengthened and purified his thoughts does not need to consider the malevolent.”

As long as my thoughts are pure I won’t be able to consider anything harmful towards humanity.

“A sour face does not come by chance, it is made by sour thoughts.”

My outward appearancereflects the true picture of what is on my inside.

“Doubt and fear are the great enemies of knowledge and he who encourages them, who does not slay them, thwarts himself at every step.”

I must always believe that nothing is impossible or can be unachievable.

“Thoughts allied fearlessly to purpose become creative force.”

Fearless action gives power to positive thoughts

“A man can only rise, conquer and achieve by lifting up his thought.”

The rising starts the moments my thoughts begins to rise

“Dream lofty dreams, and as you dream, so shall you become.”

Never stop dreaming, it is life.

“Whatever your present environment may be, you will fall, remain, or rise with your thoughts, vision, ideal. You will become as small as your controlling desire, as great as your dominant aspiration.”

You may be in the valley of life now but as long as you keep thinking high and striving high, soon you will be on the mountain top.

“The more tranquil a man becomes, the greater is his success, his influence, his power for good.”

Calmness is a virtue.

5. Is there anything in the book that you do not understand or are unclear about, or are there ideas which you disagree with and, if so, why?

Kindly give further clarification on the following statements:

Following the inmost desires, aspirations, thoughts, by which he allows himself to be dominated (pursuing the will-o-the wisps of impure imaginings or steadfastly walking the highway of strong and high endeavor), a man at last arrives at their fruition and fulfillment in the outer conditions of his life. The laws of growth and adjustment everywhere obtain. A man does not come to the alms-house or the jail by the tyranny of fate or circumstance, but by the pathway of groveling thoughts and base desires

Jonathan Livinston Seagull

Assessment by Abiola Daramola (Kenya)

1. What is the main idea that the author is trying to convey in the book?

To be outstanding in life or to fulfill purpose in life, one cannot afford to be like the rest, I mean one cannot be ordinary or one cannot keep doing what the rest are doing, you need to put in an extra effort. You need to first discover what you enjoy doing best, and give it your best and keep learning. Keep learning by learning more, as one school finishes, move on to the next. Self Confidence, believe in yourself, never underestimate yourself, believe that you have all it takes to become who you are designed to be.

Look beyond what you are seeing, your eyes will always see the impossible, the unachievable, the unbelievable, if you want to go far in life, then you need to look beyond what you can see, by looking with you inner eye, which is your understanding. The people around may never understand what you are seeing, don’t be bothered about that, just remain focused and you will have it.

2. What were the seven ideas which were personally most important to you and why? List these seven ideas followed by an explanation after each one as to why it was important to you. Use personal examples from your own life.

i. He stalled and fell, unashamed, stretching his wings again in that hard curve.

After stalling and falling, he did not allow the unusual feeling of disgrace and dishonor to distract him from his focus or destination, he continued. I find this very important because in life as we move towards the fulfillment of our purpose, we will get to a bumpy point, which when most people get to, they give up, but one thing I have learnt is that one needs to continue by encouraging oneself. At that point you are kind of lonely and the best you can do to yourself is to encourage yourself as the people that you assume should encourage you will be nowhere to be found. Personally I have experienced delay in a particular area of my life, but I have learnt and still learning not to point fingers at anyone, but rather look inward and take responsibility for my shortcoming and keep moving on, rather than being discouraged.

ii. It was not eating that mattered but flight.

To be outstanding I cannot afford to be like the others, or I cannot afford to make other people’s goal my goal. I need to discover my goal and give it my best. My purpose should be what I enjoy doing and what I am willing to make sacrifices for. I have been trying to keep fit and the norm is to go to the gym which I tried out, but as some point, I realized that I was not committed to going to the gym, the drive was not there, recently I got enrolled for tennis lessons and I suddenly realize that I have been very consistent with my lessons, why, because it is something I enjoy doing, and when you enjoy doing something you won’t mind making sacrifices for that thing.

iii. I just want to know what I can do in the air and what I can’t.

The journey of self- discovery begins with a trial, if you don’t attempt it, you may never be able to discover your true potential, surprisingly, with my tennis lessons I am getting better by the day, I came to realize that if I didn’t give it a trial, I may never have discovered that I can be so good at playing tennis.

I find this statement very important in the sense that as one makes effort towards fulfilling purpose, mistake is bound to arise but as long as you continue trying and trying and giving it your best and refusing to give up, success will be inevitable. Success in life is right behind your several mistakes.

v. There is no way around it, I am a seagull. I am limited by my nature

The quality of a man’s life cannot go beyond the quality of his thought, when a man has a negative thought concerning something, he becomes enslaved to that thing which sets a limit over his life. I have come to discover that when I face challenges and I get a feeling of there has to be a way out of this issue, it usually comes to pass, but when I become negative over that issue, it persist.

vi. He vowed he would be a normal gull, it will make everyone happier

To be outstanding in life, you need to do what the rest are not doing, you need to keep learning because learning leads to new discovery and allowing new discovery to be a way of life keeps you outstanding. You need to go beyond the normal or the usual, when you get to that point, there will be lots of criticism from friends, foes and folks which becomes very challenging but you can overcome the challenges by listening to that inner voice.

vii. One who has touched excellence in his learning has no need of that kind of promise.

Yielding to fear and the thought of failure hinders excellence, I must not entertain fear or be afraid that if I venture into what I have never done before or if I do what is different from what others are doing I may not succeed, I must ensure that I do not have such a mindset. For example keeping fit by going to the gym was working for others, but it didn’t work for me, keeping fit only started working for me when I discovered what works for me

3. How will these ideas or lessons help you in a practical way, both in your daily personal life and in helping you to create a better world? If so, how?

I need to keep investing time in what i enjoy doing best and as I learn, I need to look out for others that I can train so as to disperse the knowledge that I have gained. Learning does not make you weak, it rather makes you better and stronger and above gives you far more advantage than the rest, which is it takes you to a level of distinction and honor.

The place of perfection is not a point but a destination of infinity, I must keep moving towards it, I must ensure not place any barrier of limitation over my life, once I have succeeded in a particular area I must move on to the next, that should not be my final point. As long as I make up my mind towards achieving something, I can get it as long as I remain committed to it.

I need to keep updating myself by embracing other people’s idea, I must never get to a point of knowing it all, where or what I desire to get, has been done by others before, I can always learn from their mistakes and triumph. Love requires a conscious effort from me and I must make up my mind to work at it. As long as I keep practicing the act of kindness the closer I move towards a lifestyle of love. Personally I have discovered that a lifestyle of love requires a lot of patience and self-discipline.

4. Quotes: Are there any statements which the author made that particularly got your attention? If so, please quote them and comment as to why they were important to you.

“We are free to go where we wish and to be what we are.”

We should not allow anyone or anything to hinder us, we should not allow our circumstances or environment to hinder us, not even our culture should hinder us from fulfilling our dream or desire.

“We don’t have to be obey the law if we are not part of the flock”

If I am not part of the group I am not obliged to their rules and regulation, I am unique and I must keep being unique.

“You have the freedom to be yourself, your true self here and now and nothing can stand in your way.”

As long as you do not put a limit on yourself no one can, you may have lost so much time, but wherever you are right now, you can begin the journey towards fulfillment. Whatsoever you believe in go all out for it.

“I want to fly more than anything else in the world”

“The Only law is that which leads to freedom.”

Do not subject yourself to any rules or regulation that confines you, that is slavery, submit to that which allows you to be what you are called to be.

“How do you expect us to fly as you fly”

Be Positive, believe you can and you will

“You are special and gifted and divine above other birds.”

Do away with any feeling of inferiority.

“The only difference is that they have begun to understand what they really are and have begun to practice it”

After you have arrived at the point of self-discovery, begin to run and keep running.

“If you are not a son of the great gull himself, then you are a thousand years ahead of your time.”

Do not give in to distraction, do not allow it to stop you, because you will surely be misunderstood, don’t allow yourself to lose focus.

“You don’t need me any longer. You need to keep finding yourself, a little more each day, that real, unlimited Fletcher Seagull. He’s your instructor. You need to understand him and to practice him.”

Self-discovery is a journey and not a destination, you need to keep at it day by day, the more you do, the more you discover and as you discover keep practicing your new you over and over again and that will lead you towards perfection.

“Don’t let them spread silly rumors about me, or make me a god. I’m a seagull. I like to fly.”

Don’t be carried away by the praises of men, don’t let them idolize you, you are exceling only because you are doing what you enjoy doing best.

“Don’t believe what your eyes are telling you, all they show is limitation, look with your understanding, find out what you already know and you will see the way to fly.”

Focus less on the seen and focus more on the unseen

“You’ve got to understand that a seagull is an unlimited idea of freedom, an image of the great gull and your whole body from wingtip to wingtip is nothing more than your thought itself.”

Your thought is very powerful, your life cannot be better than the level of your thought, great thought, great life.

5. Is there anything in the book that you do not understand or are unclear about, or are there ideas which you disagree with and, if so, why?

Yes. “The trick Fletcher is that we are trying to overcome our limitations in order, patiently, we don’t tackle flying through rock until a little later in the program.”

The above statement is not so clear to me.

6. Did the book contain exercises for the reader to complete? If so, did you complete all of the exercises and did you find them helpful?

No.

7. Was there anything you read in the book that you would like to comment on that was not covered in the previous questions? If so, please comment.

Keys to Success
Assessment by Abiola Daramola (Kenya)

1. What is the main idea that the author is trying to convey in the book?

The main idea the author is trying to convey is that I can achieve success in anything I do, as long as I follow the recommended principles:
Napoleon Hill’s Maxim; “Whatever your mind can conceive and believe, your mind can achieve.” Assuredness of purpose is the preliminary point of all accomplishment, define your objective and start toward them. To achieve lasting success, have a definite major purpose, have a plan for reaching that goal and devote a great part of your thoughts and efforts to that end. Only by finding your own burning desire will you achieve success.
If you know what you want from life, if you are determined to get it to the point that it becomes an obsession and you back that obsession with continuous effort and sound planning, then you have awakened and developed definiteness of purpose.

2. What were the seven ideas which were personally most important to you and why? List these seven ideas followed by an explanation after each one as to why it was important to you. Use personal examples from your own life.

i. Only by finding your own burning desire will you achieve success.

I so much resonate with this idea in the sense that success can only be achieved by me when I am able to connect with the thought or idea that keeps flowing in my mind consciously and unconsciously. That burning desire that keeps me awake during the night. I have always been interested in business and at some point I had just had my last child and did not want to just focus on weaning the child but to engage my mind by doing what I enjoyed doing during my spare time. Somehow, I figured out a way to launch a business that I had been longing to venture into.

ii. Prompted a flow of ideas through my mind

I have been introduced to my other self, the self which has a vision of my innate spiritual powers and will not accept or recognize failure. It is arousing my determination to go forth and claim the things which are rightfully yours. I see this as a wake call that wherever I am and whatever I have been able to achieve, there is still a lot that I can do. I have also been awakened to the realization that no matter how many times I have failed; I still have many chances to be successful as long as I do not give up. I will relate this to a personal experience. Being born and bred in Africa, I have always looked forward to having the experience of studying in the western world, as all of my education was completed in an institution in the Western and Eastern part of Africa. However, because I never relented in my determination to obtain a western education, I had the opportunity in 2016 to take a post-graduate program in Atlantic Canada and currently I reside in the same Province. The thought that is coming to mind is, what if I had given up on that dream? The lesson here is that the earlier a person is introduced to their other self, the self that sees possibilities in all situations, even when oppositions raises its ugly head, this other self refuses to give up. The faster it will be for such a person to achieve great success in their major purpose.

iii. If you can see an opportunity as quickly as you can see the faults of others, you will soon succeed.

I find this idea very important in the sense that it is very easy people, including myself to see the faults of others, so since the amount of fault we see in others is a lot, we should also be able to spot the opportunities around us with the same magnitude. What is also coming to mind is if we are flexible enough to be able to convert the faults into an opportunity, then we will be able to make success out of the identified faults. For example, I have realized that it is very difficult to effect a change in someone else without first affecting it in oneself, so I am learning to work on myself, rather than focusing on the fault of others.

iv. Specialization leads to success.

Your success in life will depend a great deal on your ability to know much about a specific area and to perform exceptionally within it. General education is important because by pursuing it, you will discover your basic aptitudes and desires. Once you have discerned them, you should immediately begin to acquire specialized knowledge in your area of major interest. I resonate with this idea in the sense that it is better to specialize in a major area and them become a guru in that particular area than to be involved in all discipline which leads to jack of all trades. However, it is worthy of note that this idea is not recommending one not to diversify, as a matter of fact, one can diversify into new area of interest as long as there is a burning desire to venture into such, without which sustainability will not be guaranteed. For me, I personally will not venture into an area that does not interest me as the zeal will not be there in the time of difficulty, however if there is definiteness of purpose in the area I am venturing into, come sun, come rain, one will be able to face it.

v. The quality known as faith.

This value makes one’s mind positive and frees it from the limitations of doubt, discouragement, indecision and procrastination. One of the biggest challenge of man is the fear of failure and I will say we all at some points in our journey in life experience this fear. However, it is important to deal with it as fast as it comes, if not it will hinder one from attempting a whole lot of things. I listened to a speaker that says whatever it is you plan to do, do it afraid. From that message, I learnt that a lot of people that achieve success in life, did so by ignoring the voice of fear and embracing the voice of faith. Hence, faith is an action that needs to be performed in the face of fear. What is coming to mind is that whenever we attempt to achieve a major goal, there will be two voices that will be ringing a bell in our minds, the voice of you can do it and the voice of you cannot do it, the one that you listen to frequently will determine if you will be successful or not. Always ask yourself at the end of each day, which voice did I listen to today. As a result of the speaker’s message, each time I tend towards fear, doubt, incompetence, I tell myself do it afraid and I keep repeating it to myself, I have seen a great difference in that attitude as I have been able to gain a lot of enthusiasm.

vi. Turn on the current of your mind to success and refuse to accept the possibility of failure.

According to a saying; “if you can think it, you can have it.” This saying reminds me that as long as I continue to focus my mind on success, as long as I continue to make a step towards success, as long as continue to follow the principles recommended for the type of success I want to achieve, as long as I keep putting in the time and the energy required, as long as I put in extra effort, by going over and beyond, as long I decline to failure with all that is within me, success will be a way of life. The point is success is achieved by proceeding on the journey towards success whenever you get to a bus stop of failure, in other words, in your journey towards success, you will meet failure on the way, when you do, do not stop and never turn back, keep going forward and you will end up at your final destination which is the junction of success. I will relate this to my first example of my desire to have a Western education, at some point I lived in the Eastern part of Africa, which to me was a step above my country of origin. As a result, I applied for a post-graduate program in that country which I completed in 2012, however because that was not my major destination, the opportunity to study in Canada opened up itself and I embraced it wholeheartedly, why, because the seed of the idea had been sown in my heart a long time ago. The whole idea is never to accept the prospect of failure, keep moving towards success and you will get to destination success.

vii. Control your mental attitude

The only thing over which you have complete right of control at all times is your mental attitude, this statement means a lot to me as I have to come realize that the state of my mind at every point in time will determine my win-win or otherwise. The only person who can control my mind is me, no one else can help me to do this hence the power is in my hands. However, it is worthy of note that we are responsible for the output of what we get out of life, as long as we are able to control what enters and comes out of our mind. The scripture says as a man thinks so is he, so think success and you will have success, think otherwise and you will have a different result. The question is how can I control my mind? It can be done by me taking heed to what I allow to enter into my mind. As a Christian, I believe so much in the word of god which is life to me, so I believe in speaking the word of God into my life and situation even in the midst of contrary situations and I have experienced tremendous changes. The scripture says guard your heart with all diligence for out of it flows the issues of life, what this means is that the creator has given us the right, the responsibility to safeguard what goes in and out of our minds.

It is worthy of mention, that some of the ways we can do this is by taking heed to what goes into our mind through various mediums such as what we see and listen to. Our ears and our eyes are major mediums through which things creep into our minds. For example, one of the measures I have taken recently especially with the COVID-19 pandemic that is ongoing is to stay away from listening to news that talks about the intensity of the situation as it has been instilling fear and anxiety into me. I have also embraced the culture of focusing my mind on a scripture and meditating on it continuously. So it is important for everyone to discover avenues through which negativity is introduced into their lives and deal with it immediately.

3. How will these ideas or lessons help you in a practical way, both in your daily personal life and in helping you to create a better world? If so, how?

I will say putting into practice the above mentioned idea in my day to day living. One thing I can say is that it may be difficult at the beginning but as long as I keep at it, I will see a better me. It is also worthy of note that at times when I go off track, I should not give up on myself, I should rather give myself a pat on the back and keep going on. As long as I continue to take a step forward towards my desired purpose, I will get there against all odds. Also I cannot over emphasize my trust in my creator, whenever we are weak, He strengthens us, I will rely on Him for the power to make the impossible possible. The scripture says “I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me.”

4. Quotes: Are there any statements which the author made that particularly got your attention? If so, please quote them and comment as to why they were important to you.

“If you would plant for days, plant flowers, If you would plant for years, plant trees If you would plant for eternity, Plant ideas.”

This statement got my attention in the sense that I became aware that an idea is not just for now but it is something that will outlive the person that conceived that idea.
So if I keep on conceiving ideas, I am actually conceiving something of inestimable value that will be there beyond my existence, this to me is amazing.

“One single idea may have greater weight than the labor of all the men, animals and engines for a century.”

Idea and labor are at two extremes, while labor has no weight, idea carries a whole lot of weight. In fact, the person with idea will be master over the person of great weight, so the question that I am asking myself is, which one of the two do I want to be. I choose to be the master, the one with the idea.

“Where faith is the guide, the individual cannot lose his way.”

The scripture says faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. This tells us that as long as we allow faith to guide us, we are sure of getting to our destination. Faith is the roadmap to that destination I desire to get to.

“Know what you wish to say, say it with all the feelings you command and then sit down”

This quote caught my attention as I am a very shy person, however my daily and ministerial role requires me to give presentations from time to time. As a result, I am learning to prepare adequately for every session of my presentation and present with a lot of confidence and vitality. I am also learning to keep strictly to the allotted time.

5. Is there anything in the book that you do not understand or are unclear about, or are there ideas which you disagree with and, if so, why?

None.

6. Did the book contain exercises for the reader to complete? If so, did you complete all of the exercises and did you find them helpful?

Yes it did, I completed the exercises.

7. Was there anything you read in the book that you would like to comment on that was not covered in the previous questions? If so, please comment.

You can and must make progress on many fronts to achieve personal success such as:
