As a Man Thinketh

Nadia Echchikhi (Morocco)

n.echchikhi@gmail.com

Here are some highlights from an impressive recent Introductory assessment:

Calmness of mind is one of the beautiful jewels of wisdom. It is the result of long and patient effort in self-control. Whenever I think about calm and a peaceful mind, meditation comes to my mind. I believe that the times I meditated or focused while praying were the moments when I could truly connect with myself. During these times, I could reflect on how connected I am to my ideas and decide how to approach the most difficult problems in my life. I began to see them as challenges or steps toward a better period in my life.

The body is the servant of the mind. It obeys the operations of the mind, whether they be deliberately chosen or automatically expressed. Indeed, everything that comes across our mind can become a reality. I think about illness and how it reflects what we think about ourselves. I am no expert in science or medicine, but I have witnessed many cases where people attract sickness because of their thoughts. However, I can give an example from my own life. I remember when the Corona virus first appeared, it was all around the world, but only those who were constantly thinking about it; even though they took all the precautions got sick. I have no explanation, but talking about myself, I was like, “Yeah, the pandemic is here, so what? I will only wear my mask, wash my hands as recommended, and that’s all.” Trust me, I never had it, even though it was around me. This is not the only instance; I was near people with tuberculosis, hepatitis, and even respiratory illnesses but never got them. In my mind, I focus on the best, not the worst.

I completely agree with the statement that we are what we think. In the future, I envision myself becoming the person I truly want to be by actively cultivating positive thoughts. I know that my mindset will be the key to achieving personal growth and success. Instead of letting self-doubt and negative thinking take over, I plan to nurture a mindset full of kindness, self-love, and optimism. With time, I believe I’ll notice that my inner transformation will directly impact how I see the world and how others perceive me as well.

As I reflect on the future, I see that developing a noble and Godlike character won’t happen by chance, but through consistent effort in thinking positively and aligning my thoughts with higher ideals. I anticipate that the more I consciously choose to think kindly and nobly, the more these qualities will naturally shape my character. It will be a continuous journey of refining my thoughts and building the person I aspire to become, not just through actions, but through the way I think and approach life’s challenges.

The idea of my mind being like a garden resonates with the future I’m aiming to create. I understand that cultivating positive thoughts is an ongoing process. In the future, I’ll be intentional about planting seeds of growth, self-improvement, and gratitude. I know that, just like any garden, my mind will require consistent care, attention, and effort. There will be moments when negative thoughts try to take root, but I’m determined to replace them with empowering beliefs that support my growth and vision for the future.

Looking ahead, I see challenges and circumstances as opportunities for learning and growth. Instead of resisting or resenting difficult situations, I aim to approach them with an open mind, ready to discover what lessons they have for me. Each experience, whether positive or negative, will help me evolve into a better version of myself. I believe that the more I learn from life’s lessons, the more resilient and adaptable I’ll become, ready to face new challenges with wisdom.

The connection between the mind and body will continue to play a pivotal role in my health and well-being. I know that the thoughts I harbor can directly influence my physical state. In the future, I plan to keep my mind focused on health and vitality, visualizing myself as strong and capable. I believe that by maintaining a positive mindset, I will continue to enjoy good health and avoid unnecessary illness. The mind-body connection will be a powerful tool I’ll use to create the reality I desire.

Lastly, I am confident that I will always try to lead people to adopt the same mindset, at least those who believe in me, remembering that change starts with ourselves and spreads step by step.

What Others Are Saying

Why IIGL?

Udeme Idem (Nigeria/USA)

Demsydem08@gmail.com

My endorsement of IIGL is predicated on several compelling reasons:  First, IIGL has cultivated a cadre of global leaders from diverse backgrounds, encompassing both males and females hailing from underrepresented demographics, including impoverished communities across Nigeria, Uganda, East Africa, South Africa, and extending globally, including the United States. Over recent years, IIGL has consistently facilitated transformative experiences, enabling individuals to evolve into significant contributors to their respective community development initiatives. Next, my personal journey has been profoundly altered since my enrollment at IIGL as a student; I have acquired extensive knowledge and undergone considerable growth, making it difficult to reflect upon my former self while marveling at the individual I have become today. The International Institute for Global Leadership has played a pivotal role in my accomplishments. I have transitioned from a state of depression, lack of focus, and disorientation to an individual who excels in her professional and personal endeavors, as I diligently pursue a PhD in the United States. Furthermore, IIGL has been instrumental in supporting my academic trajectory, as the director provided invaluable recommendations to bolster my scholarly pursuits. Absent the assistance I garnered from the International Institute for Global Leadership, I would not find myself in the United States today, actively pursuing my doctoral studies. Lastly, IIGL has consistently offered tuition-free education to underrepresented, underprivileged and educationally disadvantaged individuals such as myself. They actively encourage each of their students to attain their utmost potential, both in their personal lives and professional trajectories, as well as within the communities they inhabit.

(Udeme is the Board Vice President and a Level Six Student).

I am a married man with one wife and four children who are adults and independent.  I have experience of 20 years of welding and this is what I do on a daily basis, this is the work that as helped me to educate my children and also uplift me in my life, anything I have achieved it is through my welding skills, I have my own workshop which I have employed six youths on a permanent basis and I am the one who has trained them, when I have a lot of work, we also hire people to assist in my work I am having a dream of starting a technical institution for welding, most of the young people who came from poor family ends up in streets and commit crimes because of idleness once I start my institution it will be offering free welding skills which can make them self empowered and reliant.

Nadia Echchikhi (Morocco)

With over a decade dedicated to UNHCR’s mission, my expertise lies in executing Registration Standard Operating Procedures with a steadfast focus on transparency and fairness. At UNHCR, the collaboration with inter-ministerial bodies has honed my ability to advocate effectively for refugees’ rights, ensuring their access to due processes. Since I have been working for the UNHCR for 12 years and this makes me think to improve my leadership skills. Mainly, because nowadays I’m a manager and a leader in my role. Hence this opportunity will give me further help to boost my career.

Make A Difference

Dream Team 22

Please join Dream Team 22 as our goal is to have 22 people contributing $22 per month.  We understand that money is energy and that to sustain and build IIGL we need a lot of people pouring their energy into this endeavor on a regular basis. We also know that not everyone can afford to commit $22 a month – especially our students, who live in countries with economies in which this amount can be equal to a weeks’ salary. So we are offering two options for those who wish to become a part of the Dream Team. One can commit to a $22 a month contribution or to spending 22 seconds each day holding the vision of IIGL becoming financially sustainable by the end of 2025!

Please join the Dream Team and help us create an energetic foundation to support the transformational work of IIGL! You can really make a difference in the world by making a modest contribution of time or money.  To make the $22 a month commitment or a one time donation, click the link below.  To become a member of the Dream Team 22 by committing 22 second a day to help us hold the vision, contact Deb for details:  drosen2@wi.rr.com
