Please describe your vision of a world that works for everyone.

The world that work for everyone is a world where peace, harmony and unity is key to everyone, most of the world we are living there are challenge in peace and in we experience war all over the world, we have seen countries uniting to fight terrorist and this cause life, people have died in the hands of terrorism and creating instability in many countries almost many countries have been affected with terrorism in one way or the other, if we have people respecting each other, then such issues will not be heard, we need to be more loving, caring and protecting one another.

What do you see as the most pressing problems facing the world today?

The most pressing problem in the world is global changes, we have affected our environment in many ways, we have destroyed our forests, and we are experiencing environmental changes, in this regard we have seen rains do not rain the way it used to do, this affects food planting and production, we have seen most of the country not having enough food which is nowadays a national disaster and we have to do something to change such ways, we need to plant trees when we cut one, having noble praises and award to those who preserve the environment, we also need to educate people the importance of planting trees and maintaining our environment so that we can safeguard our world and avoid global warming.

How do you feel these problems could best be solved?

This problem can be solved by educating people on the importance of keeping our environment safe, planting trees cut one plant three, and also we need to put measures for those who are cutting trees without legal approval they should be prosecuted and be fined, we need to be environmental, friendly and we need also to get an alternative so that we do not cut trees for firewood but preserve them to help us get rains, and avoid soil erosion which is causing poor food production.

Profile

My name is Richmond Kebwao, I am a married man with one wife and four children who are adults and independent.  I have experience of 20 years of welding and this is what I do on a daily basis, this is the work that as helped me to educate my children and also uplift me in my life, anything I have achieved it is through my welding skills, I have my own workshop which I have employed six youths on a permanent basis and I am the one who has trained them, when I have a lot of work, we also hire people to assist in my work

I am having a dream of starting a technical institution for welding, most of the young people who came from poor family ends up in streets and commit crimes because of idleness once I start my institution it will be offering free welding skills which can make them self empowered and reliant. I have already trained 15 youths in my workshop and they are doing very well, I need to have a registered institution that can offer certificate, or diploma in welding, this will make this young poor men and women be very important people in the society, an empowered society makes life easy and safe, most of the crimes committed is due to lack of employment and idleness once people do not have job, they tend to turn in to crime since they have needs to cater for, so as a community we have to be very vigilant on this young people and try to create employment to them, so that they can make a living out of it.

This study will help me be more enlightened and empowered in my community and working area, it will make me be a good ambassador in my region to empower other people on good skills of leadership and governance, by being a student in this great institution it will help me also network with other student globally for better skills exchange and cultural believes which will make me understand other people’s believe and way of leadership, once I have international skills I will be able to be a trainer of trainee (TOT) in my work place, church where I attend and in our community.
