Choosing IIGL for me was first and foremost for Community Engagement. This was to join a community of leaders like Micheal and Professionals committed to making a positive impact, fostering collaboration and support young motivated leaders in their quest to make a change in the world.<\/span><\/p>\n

Also IIGL has taught me to explore a range of leadership topics, from innovation and entrepreneurship to crisis management and sustainability in my community and also to boost my career prospects and opportunities for advancement with a recognized leadership certification.<\/span><\/p>\n

In a global perspective, I have gained a broader understanding of leadership in a global context, preparing you for diverse challenges and opportunities, learned from experienced professionals and thought leaders in the field of leadership and Management.<\/span><\/p>\n

One of the things I have observed and learned during my studies is to be able to develop a clear and compelling vision for the future and inspiring others around me to work towards a common goal.<\/span><\/p>\n

Resilience and Perseverance and some of the key traits I have developed. Developing coping strategies, managing stress and maintaining motivation in the face of challenges and setbacks so as to achieve long-term goals and success especially in the North West Region of Cameroon that we find ourselves. We have an ongoing socio-political crisis that has really traumatized and damaged most individuals. People are killed and lithered in the streets at dirt.<\/span><\/p>\n

Integrity and authenticity are some of the traits developed as an IIGL student that have kept me in my job till date. Demonstrating strong moral principles, being transparent and honest and leading by example to build trust and credibility.<\/span><\/p>\n

Collaborative leadership. Fostering a culture of teamwork, empowering others and building strong partnerships to achieve shared\/organizational goals\u00a0and objectives at my current workplace.<\/span><\/p>\n

Emotional Intelligence: Recognizing and managing my own emotions as well as being empathetic and understanding towards others to build strong relationships and make informed decision thus building my community.<\/span><\/p>\n

I\u2019ve learned Cultural Competence given that we work with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures like\u00a0The Long Walk To Freedom: The Autobiography of Nelson Mandela by Nelson Mandela\u00a0and\u00a0How To Make Collaboration Work: Powerful Ways to Build Consensus, Solve Problems, and Make Decisions. by David Straus & Thomas Layton\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Below are some additional skills I\u2019ve learned related to heart centered leadership:<\/span><\/p>\n

Prioritizing Empathy and Compassion by recognizing the importance of understanding and relating to others\u2019 perspectives and emotions and making a conscious effort to approach interactions with kindness and compassion especially as I deal with humans on a daily basis given that I work in a private security company that deals with guards as the human capital.<\/span><\/p>\n

Leading with authenticity as one of my watchwords especially in my interaction with others so as to build trust and credibility. We live in very difficult times where trust is a luxury one cannot afford to misuse.<\/span><\/p>\n

Fostering a sense of community by nurturing strong relationships and a sense of belonging among team members or colleagues to promote collaboration, creativity and collective success.<\/span><\/p>\n

Practicing Mindfulness and Self-Awareness by cultivating a greater understanding of my own thoughts emotions, and behaviors and being more present and aware n daily interactions, to make more intentional decisions and lead more effectively.<\/span><\/p>\n

Cecilia Kithinji (Kenya)<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

I am an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya since November 2008, a Judicial Officer since October 2010 and Mother. I am in leadership, heading a court station within Taveta Sub-County with Taita-Taveta County Kenya. I lead not only the staff within the court station but also the Court Users Committee Members in matters of the justice chain. The role involves a lot of interactions with the staff, other governments departments across, civil societies and special interest groups and individual members of public.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Ghizlane Rahmouni (Morocco)<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

I am 49 years old and a mother of two teenagers. I live in Rabat, Morocco. My background is in marketing and communication, where I worked for 22 years. A few years ago, I decided to change my career and follow my passion for coaching. I now work in this field and really enjoy helping others grow.<\/span><\/p>\n

I am a Moroccan scholar and practitioner deeply committed to contributing to a more just, inclusive, and peaceful world through leadership grounded in empathy, accountability, and a commitment to human dignity. My academic and professional journey has been guided by a profound interest in international relations, humanitarian action, and the transformative power of education and leadership in addressing complex global challenges. Currently, I am pursuing a PhD in Contemporary International Relations at Sidi Mohamed Ben Abdellah University in F\u00e8s, where I am focusing on multilateral cooperation and its role in addressing forced displacement and global inequalities.<\/span><\/p>\n

I am a dedicated and purpose-driven nursing professional with a strong foundation in clinical practice, public health, and research. I hold a Bachelor of Nursing Science (B.NSc) and professional registrations as a Registered Nurse (RN), Registered Midwife (RM), and Registered Public Health Nurse (RPHN).<\/span><\/p>\n

I love to think I\u2019m a storyteller. I grew up in the northern parts of Nigeria but I originate from the central part, Benue state to be precise. Home to one of the largest rivers in Nigeria and infamous for our rich Agricultural heritage. I\u2019m 30 years old, married with two lovely sons. I believe everyone is a story or has one to tell. While I majored in Biochemistry at College, I currently work in a bank at Lagos, Nigeria. So yes, I still dream about my \u201cdream job,\u201d which for me will be to write.
