As I reflect on the past year, I\u2019m filled with a deep sense of appreciation for our shared progress, the lives we\u2019ve touched, and the purpose that continues to guide us forward.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">During the 2024-2025 term, we witnessed meaningful highlights that reminded us of the heart of IIGL. Our Book Challenge was one of those special moments. It helped many students reconnect with their studies and also sparked renewed awareness about IIGL&#8217;s vision and impact. It was encouraging to see how a simple initiative could bring momentum and motivation back into our learning community. We also continued our Video Testimonial series, giving space for our members and alumni to share their powerful IIGL journeys. These stories continue to inspire others and have become a vital tool for outreach and connection.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">None of this would have been possible without the strong and supportive team behind the scenes. I want to sincerely thank our Director, Deb Rosen, for her consistent guidance and encouragement, and extend heartfelt appreciation to Vivian Muciri, our immediate past president, whose leadership continues to inspire me. I\u2019m also truly grateful to each of our Board Members for their commitment, collaboration, and the energy they bring to every conversation and initiative.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">As we begin this new term, my goals are centered on deepening connection and expanding our reach. I hope to:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Continue to create awareness for IIGL on a wider scale.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Connect more meaningfully with students to understand their unique journeys.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Most importantly, encourage steady progress in studies, as this is the core of our leadership development.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Serving in this role is more than a title; it\u2019s a calling to be part of something greater than ourselves. I come from a Kamba community, and I know how to speak Kikamba and some Luo. I have three younger sisters and a little Joy, Sandy and Gladys. I currently live with my uncle and grandparents in their rental house. I would describe myself as being very introverted and quiet. I\u2019m also very independent. I really don\u2019t like working with partners, unless they\u2019re my friends or I feel comfortable around them.
