Please describe your vision of a world that works for everyone.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Just because of greed and the thirst for power, we fight wars. Albert Camus opines that; \u201cWe used to wonder where war lived, what it was that made it so vile. And by Supreme Savings now we realize that we know where it lives…inside ourselves. My vision of a sane world free of war will be ideal for us, our children and generations to come. The consequences of war are devastative, so without wars, governments and citizens will focus on economic, environmental and health sectors thereby making the world a better haven. There will no longer be upheaval in Rwanda, Sudan, Iraq, Afghanistan, 9\/11s, etc.<\/span>
\n What do you see as the most pressing problems facing the world today?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

War is the predominant problem threatening the world today. These wars are either international or intertribal. From South America to Asia and Africa, wars have made people abandon their agricultural and socio-economic activities for asylum quest especially the vibrant generation, thereby giving rise to famine and starvation. This has led to abject poverty and mass suffering. Equally, these wars have given rise to pandemic and endemic diseases due to abuse, abandonment and poor treatment of the vulnerable. Examples are STDs, HIV\/AIDS, malnutrition, cholera etc.<\/span><\/p>\n

Secondly, nature is another pressing problem. Natural disasters like floods, droughts and storms are evident around the world and with catastrophic consequences to human and livestock existence. Climate change is an issue now that every household feel its impacts especially poor farmers in the third world countries like Ethiopia, Guatemala, and Somalia etc.<\/span><\/p>\n

How do you feel these problems could best be solved?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

To help resolve wars and conflicts, we need all hands on deck. A global approach needed to help conflicts. If peoples of all nations can come together on one platform and reason in one direction, peace will be the ultimate results. Diplomacy should triumph over totalitarian rule and there should be the balance of power between the Western powers and the Middle East on one hand, the Capitalists and the Socialists on the other. If these ideological differences are reconciled, the world will give peace a chance, thereby, resulting in growth and socio-economic development.<\/span><\/p>\n

Secondly, the local people have to be sensitized on green revolution in order to help combat climate change. Most of these natural calamities are caused by man and the society. The governments of the world should fully participate and finance this green revolution and not only allow it to NGOs and other environmental agencies. In fact, we need a holistic approach to help solve this global warming and natural disasters.<\/span><\/p>\n

Profile<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Born on June 20th 1983, at Boyo Division and in the North West Region of Cameroon, I am the Benjamin (last) in a family of three brothers and an only sister. I am presently a permanent citizen in the United States of America. I majored in English and a minor in Linguistics from the University of Buea, Cameroon.<\/span><\/p>\n

I have always dreamt of being a civil right activist and as such I have been fully involved in politics in Cameroon while militating for the opposition parties. I believe in youth empowerment and that they should be given a chance to involve in major decision-making both at local and international levels. I have equally been an active member of the Students\u2019 Union (UBSU) which has played a vital role of compelling the school administration to implement good campus facilities for students. I have been involved and held positions in so many club activities and associations like Buea University Literary Association (BULSA), Faculty of Arts Faculty Students\u2019 Association (FAFSA), Boyo Students\u2019 Association (BOSTAS), SOS Students etc. most of which try to help alleviate students\u2019 status and rights.<\/span><\/p>\n

I am in the process of enrolling for a social work program which will broaden my scope in life and give me the opportunity to work with the oppressed and abused. With this, I will be able to champion the course for the socially oppressed and help them regain their rightful positions in the society. I will love to be a conflict mediator and be able to reach out to the international community in a bid to contribute my own quota to those who need aid.<\/span><\/p>\n

I read and write poems, stories, novels and drama on contemporary issues, especially for the deprived of the societies. In my relaxation time, I love watching movies and series that deal with environmental issues. My favorite inspirational book is The Power of Positive Thinking. I watch and listen to music both traditional folklore, Makossa, Hip-Hop, R& B, Jazz, Pop and Country music. I also follow current events in the society and analyze them with friends and family.<\/span><\/p>\n

I love traveling and discovering new places especially legendary and touristic sites. Equally, since the saying goes that \u2018all play without work makes Jack a mere toy\u2019, I love to participate in sports like Athletics and football as my favorable pastime, which not only open my brain but make me keep fit. I love international games especially the Olympic Games and the FIFA football tournament which not only help to blend diversity in cultures but bridge the gap on racism.<\/span><\/p>\n

I have two favorable quotes, which are:<\/span>
\n \u201cThough life treats you unfairly, never be sad for you never know who maybe in love with your smile.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIn life there are no permanent friends and no permanent enemies.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

My life\u2019s philosophy is borrowed from the John F. Kennedy who opines that; \u201cAsk not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
