What are the main ideas the author is trying to convey in the book?<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The author is trying to convey two main ideas in the book: Your actions are outgrowth of your thought. Be whoever you are, keep your positive thoughts. As a Man Thinketh shows to us that your thought is always your inner-role and outer-role. If you always think about your positive thoughts, it shows your positive result and if you think about negative thoughts, it will show your negative result. Your thoughts become your words and your words become your behavior.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">You shape the word just as much as it shapes you: Good come for good, bad come for bad. We have seen many people coming up good because their thought was good and we see many people coming up bad because they were having bad thoughts. You shape this world for yourself as a good person and again you can shape this world for yourself as a bad person.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><em><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">2. What were the seven main ideas which were personally most important to you and why? List these seven ideas and follow by an explanation after each one as to why it was important to you. Use personal examples from your own life.<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">i. We don\u2019t get what we want in life, we get our habits of thought.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u201cAll that a man achieves and all that he fails to achieve is the direct result of thought.\u201d<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">Someone who thinks of confident thoughts, abundance, wellbeing, and compassion for others become those things and we can only achieve what we are.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">ii. Without purpose leads to worries, self-pity, and failure.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Without a purpose, we drift in life not knowing our destination<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">As human beings, sometimes you see someone living without a dream, what they do in life to follow other people for their daily bread. A life without purpose is senseless. Nothing you do in life is connected. Since nothing seems to be coherent, your mind is unable to comprehend why everything is happening. Anxiety is triggered when a person\u2019s mind thinks their life is in danger so, in the case of purposeless life, your brain translates the lack of connection to be a threat to your life. Anything that doesn\u2019t seem to be a fit is automatically a danger as per year.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">iii. Sickness is a manifestation of thought.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">iv. Circumstances doesn\u2019t create a man, they reveal him.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">We are not at the mercy of our circumstances, we create them.We are born into a small circumstance that we do not choose. Our parents, location, and how we\u2019re raised are a few, but it is our choice of thought that cultivates an unlimited possibility of circumstances we experience later in life. Many people are born into the same circumstances, yet only a few will discover they are master gardeners of their soul and director of their life.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">v. Put first things first.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Prioritize and achieve your most important goals instead of constantly reacting to urgencies.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">vi. Begin with the end in mind.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Define clear measures of success and a plan to achieve them.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">vii. Maintaining a positive mind is the key to a healthy physical body.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Entertaining thoughts that are beautiful, peaceful, happy and harmonious will result in a healthy, vibrant and youthful physical body.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><em><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">3. How will these ideas or lessons help you in a practical way, both in your daily personal life and in helping to create a better world.<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">You are the master of fate: The author says that our mind is a tool, man can either build himself with the help of this tool or destroy himself with the same.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">By the right choice and true application of thought, man can create for himself a beautiful life. A man holds the key to every situation in life and has the power to make himself what he wills.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Your mind determines your health. The author finds out that good thoughts are just as important as good food to maintain a healthy life. He believes that when a man makes his thoughts pure, he no longer desires impure food. Clean thought makes clean habits.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Eliminate doubt and fear. Doubt and fear are the great enemies of success. The first step to success is to have the belief that you can succeed. As Confucius said, \u201cHe who says he can, and he who says he can\u2019t, are usually right.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Dream begets realities: The greatest achievement was at first and for a time a dream. Dreams are the seedlings of realities. You will build your life with the vision that you glorify in your mind.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Calmness: The more tranquil a man becomes the greater his success, his influence, his power for good. The strong, calm man is always loved and revered.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><em><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">4. It shows you can succeed bigger if you dream bigger. It shows your determination in life<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u201cThey themselves are maker of themselves.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">James Allen shows us that; you can be a maker for yourself. They made or unmade themselves; in the armory of thought he forges the weapon by which he destroys himself. What are the main ideas the author is trying to convey in the book?<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">In my point of view: the message was self-determination through normal perception of the body and coming across of the limitless nature of the mind and the spirit. What I convey in the book is this: my ambition and effort is more important in my life.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">Jonathan was long to be in control of his own life and govern himself independently of hegemony. The message is this: what becomes of you is through your effort, not different people&#8217;s thoughts.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><em><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">2. Loneliness<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Sometimes if we feel lonely, we think we have lost everything. What comes in this story is this: Jonathan became successful because of his loneliness and he was different from other seagulls because of his loneliness. This is the example: Jonathan learns to master the art of time flying, he was lonely and I can do this same example as Jonathan.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">ii. Sometime: majority are not always right.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Jonathan refuses to be like other seagulls who fly just to get food. His ambition was to fly higher and learn more technique. This choice of life is very challenging and derided by the whole flock. Sometimes you need to achieve alone without relying on majority thought and that is what Jonathan does.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">iii. Helping others to be better make you better<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Jonathan learned the true act of flying, instead of him taking pride, as a moral duty to go back and teach the other seagull everything he has learned. Helping others does not mean you will lose hope, rather help you achieve higher. Don\u2019t be afraid that someone may be higher than you, always have the mind to help if needed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">iv. The purpose of life is to improve yourself<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Living in this life is about surviving, but about awakening our potential and becoming the best vision of ourselves. Improvement requires dedication, perseverance and courage, but it is the real meaning of our life.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">v. Learn to love and show kindness<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">It is difficult to show love after we have gone through so much hardship, but you can always learn and learn again how to love.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">vi. If you want to succeed, to do something you find impossible or difficult, the trick is to know that you have already arrived or achieved it.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">vii. Have a limitless mind and be teachable<\/span><\/p>\n<p><em><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">3. How will these ideas or lessons help you in a practical way, both in your daily personal life and in helping you to create a better world? If so, why?<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The main values that we can decrypt from the seagull are that falling and hurting is a part of every organism be it human or animal. We need to accept the challenge and move forward with it. It can be a great challenge to me in my life but important as they teach us what it is like to fall and rise after we are presented with failures and complications.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><em><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">4. All they show is limitation.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">This quote got my mind in truths, blindness, and limitation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><em><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">5. Is there anything in the book that you do not understand or are unclear about, or are there ideas which you disagree with and, if so, why?<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">I don\u2019t disagree with anything stated in this book. I understand everything.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">I don\u2019t completely get the complexion of love mentioned in this book. I am unclear about all of the ways love can be shared.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><em><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">6. Did the book contain exercise for the reader to complete? What was the author trying to convey in the book?<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The author was trying to convey the few ideas that face difficulties in human life<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">Desire: \u201cWishing will not bring riches,\u201d said Hill. \u201cBut desiring riches with a state of mind that becomes an obsession, then planning definite ways and means to acquire riches, and backing those plans with persistence which does not recognize failure, will bring riches. According to Hill in this quote, it is about beautifying your desire on the positive mind of getting rich. Sometimes what you wish for, you can\u2019t get but it can be the desire of your positive minds. Faith: Believe that you can achieve your goal.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">Growing rich begins with a positive mindset. Faith in one\u2019s ability to attract wealth is a necessary requirement to attract it. \u201cRiches begin in the form of thought!\u201d insisted Hill. \u201cThe amount is limited only by the person in whose mind the thought is put into motion. Faith removes limitations!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Specialized knowledge: Gain experiences and continue learning. Elkins agreed that knowledge is power, but only when individuals apply what they learn to solve problems in their daily lives. Hill believed successful men and women are committed to lifelong learning. This is particularly important in this technological era where new information constantly changes. Organized Planning: Take action. \u201cOpportunity has spread its wares before you,\u201d said Hill. \u201cStep up to the front, select what you want, create your plan, put the plan into action, and follow through with persistence.\u201d Hill gave us a message to step forward for it. Opportunity was once created before you and getting it, you have to step for forward<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Persistence: Don&#8217;t stop until you get what you want. Successful men and women believe challenges are important directional arrows that lead them closer to their goals. They are not distracted by set-backs and disappointments. \u201cRiches do not respond to wishes,\u201d wrote Napoleon Hill. \u201cThey respond only to definite plans, backed by definite desires, through constant persistence.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Power of the Mastermind: Surround yourself with successful people. Hill described a Mastermind group as \u201ca friendly alliance with one or more persons who will encourage one to follow through with both plan and purpose. Members of Mastermind groups challenge one another to set individual and collective goals. They hold one another to be accountable. Participation in a Mastermind group requires commitment, confidentiality, openness to input from others, honesty, and respect.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><em><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">2. Believe in Yourself<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">Self-Confidence will help you master the six basic fears with which every person is cursed; the fear of Poverty, Ill Health, Old Age, Criticism, Loss of Love and the fear of Death. Learn the difference between egotism and real self-confidence which is based upon definite, usable knowledge.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">ii. Get in the Habit of Saving.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">Learn how to save your money. Habits of saving will teach you how to share your money accordingly. You only succeed in life through saving.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">iii. Be Creative<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">Imagination will build up your mind so that you will receive new ideas and develop new plans which will help you in getting the object of your aim.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">iv. Self-Control<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">It is the \u201cbalance wheel\u201d with which you control your enthusiasm and direct it where you wish it to carry you. This lesson will teach you, in a most practical manner, to become \u201cthe master of your fate, the Captain of your Soul.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">v. Accurate Thinking<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">It is one of the important foundation stones of all enduring success. This lesson teaches you how to separate \u201cfacts\u201d from mere \u201cinformation.\u201d It teaches you how to organize known facts into two classes: the \u201cimportant\u201d and the \u201cunimportant.\u201d It teaches you how to determine what is an \u201cimportant\u201d fact. It teaches you how to build definite working plans, in the pursuit of any calling, out of FACTS.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">vi. Learning by Failure<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">It will teach you how to make stepping way out of all of your past and future mistakes and failures. It will teach you the difference between \u201cfailure\u201d and \u201cdefeat,\u201d a difference which is very great and very important. It will teach you how to profit by your own failures and by the failures of other people.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">vii. Focusing<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">It teaches you how to focus your attention upon one subject at a time until you have worked out practical plans for mastering that subject. It will teach you how to ally yourself with others in such a manner that you may have the use of their entire knowledge to back you up in your own plans and purposes. It will give you a practical working knowledge of the forces around you, and show you how to harness and use these forces in furthering your own interests.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><em><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">3. How these or lesson will help you in the practical ways, both in your daily personal life and in helping to create a better world; if so how?<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">In the first paragraph, Hill argues that thinking is more conducive to success than any other feature, including money, education or specific knowledge about something. Man that \u201cthink\u201d he can accomplish something is already.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">When defeat comes, accept as the signal that your plan is not the sound. Rebuild those plans and set sail once more toward your convicted. Failure is not a man stopping point, it only motivates how strong you are.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">This lesson teaches you how to motivate yourself in dealing with money and desire. Hill 16 principle develop great work in human life towards money<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">In helping creating better world is to accept failure and dealing with money, desire with positive mind.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><em><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">4. Wishing will not bring riches but desiring riches with a state of mind that becomes an obsession, then planning definite ways and means to acquire riches, and backing those plans with persistence which does not recognize failure, will bring riches.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><em><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">5.
