Please describe your vision of a world that works for everyone.<\/span><\/strong>
\nThere is no best way to live because there is variation in how each individual lives. That being said, the \u201cperfect world\u201d doesn’t exist because we are an imperfect species. However, a world that works for everyone is a world where peace prevails and crime is no more.<\/span><\/p>\n

What do you see as the most pressing problems facing the world today?<\/span><\/strong>
\nThe problems include: Current Global Pandemic; Health and primary education; Inequality Poverty; Gender equality and Climate change.<\/span><\/p>\n

How do you feel these problems could best be solved?<\/span><\/strong>
\nGlobal health is a problem where you could easily make progress. Simply within the workforce. If everyone used their career to switch their focus to global health it would make a huge impact and tremendous progress. We need to think about how we, as individuals, can use our different skill sets to put forth equal effort in tackling the same problem.<\/span><\/p>\n

Profile<\/span><\/strong>
\nI was born in South Africa and moved to the USA to study at the University of North Carolina in Asheville, NC three years ago. I have travelled throughout my life as a result of my father\u2019s career. I am pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communication and Legal Studies. I plan to graduate in 2023. Currently I am the Student Engagement Chair for the Student Alumni Association. I love music and I have been selected for the Asheville Singers which is a vocal ensemble at the University.<\/span><\/p>\n

As a student with a significant amount of social reach, I have a well-rounded skill set in digital engagement and honed abilities in organization and written communication. This enables me to provide new perspectives in the hopes that it will be valuable for future growth, making me an ideal fit for IIGL. My previous roles have strengthened my capabilities in critical thinking and collaboration, including a keen attention to detail and accuracy. My skills include: Adobe Photoshop; Basic knowledge of Adobe Illustrator;<\/span>
\nTransitional support; Project Management; Fundraising; Creative strategies; Leadership Ability.<\/span><\/p>\n

Staring in June, 2020, I worked with UNC Chapel Hill NC COVID-19 Student Response Corps related to:<\/span>
\nState government, higher education, local government and nonprofit <\/span>partners collaborated to develop this program with the hopes of <\/span>providing organizations with additional capacity and students with work <\/span>experience.<\/span>
\nThe focus was on helping public officials accomplish their goals in their <\/span>communities across the state.<\/span>
\nThe mission was to improve the lives of North Carolina residents by working <\/span>to improve their health.<\/span>
\nUNC School of Government provided us with practical and accessible <\/span>tools to help us, interns, understand our jobs as well as re-advise public <\/span>officials.<\/span><\/p>\n

I\u2019ve also been a Tutor with AVID Tutoring since January providing the following support: Apply effective learning strategies to improve students’ study skills and <\/span>retention. Administer feedback to students using positive reinforcement <\/span>techniques to encourage and build confidence. During COVID-19 pandemic, tutorial services were conducted remotely.
