Helping others improves both the individual and the community. When farmers share knowledge, everyone benefits. Another key idea is that the past does not determine the future. Farmers can improve their situation through learning and action.

As an extension officer, the lessons from this book can be used to solve real-life problems in farming communities. Many challenges in agriculture are not only technical but also behavioral. Farmers may know what to do but fail to act due to fear, habits, or beliefs. One common issue is late planting. Even when farmers know the right time, they delay due to lack of preparation or uncertainty. By teaching the importance of decisions and planning, this problem can be reduced. Another issue is low adoption of new technologies. Farmers may resist improved seeds or fertilizers because they fear loss. By addressing beliefs and showing successful examples, adoption can increase.

Group work is also important. Farmers working together can access markets, reduce costs, and share knowledge. Encouraging cooperation meets social needs and improves outcomes. Record keeping is another major challenge. Many farmers do not track their costs and income. By linking this habit to real benefits, more farmers can adopt it.

Finally, continuous improvement is key. Agriculture is always changing due to climate and market conditions. Farmers must keep learning and adapting. In conclusion, Awaken the Giant Within provides useful ideas that can be applied in real life, especially in agricultural extension work. By focusing on mindset, decisions, and small improvements, farmers can achieve better results. As an extension officer, applying these lessons can help create lasting change in communities.

A few years ago, I was stuck running a small farm in Uganda, facing low yields, constant money worries, family pressures, and a deep feeling of being powerless against bad weather, market dips, and my own doubts. I felt like life was happening to me, not by me. Then I got access to this book, Awaken the Giant Within. Through Tony’s powerful stories and practical tools like raising my standards, linking pain to old limiting habits (procrastination on farm planning), and pleasure to massive action (diversifying crops, monitoring fields daily). I started making real decisions. I got to know that I Need to challenged beliefs that “farming is just survival,” redefined my identity as a capable agri-preneur, and took control of my focus, emotions, and daily actions. This clarity has enabled me to align my actions with a bigger vision, making my leadership more purposeful and impactful. For instance, I thrive better now in leading my team, where I notice a shortfall, instead of complaining I think of a way out, which has been amazingly helpful. Taking my leadership role with more responsibility to ensure my dreams are driven with relentless and consistent effort not waiting for things to happen on their own, by that I am contributing my little quota to make the world a better society.

Participating in the International Institute For Global Leadership (IIGL) has been a transformative experience that has reshaped my outlook, strengthened my leadership capacity, and deepened my sense of purpose. I now view people and situation not just from my own perspective, but the situation, what created it and how better to manage it. I am also willing and have started to work more on believe system, instead of blaming my country, I look more inward on what I can do. Like James Allen said in his book; “As a Man Thinketh,” “People are anxious to improve their circumstances but are unwilling to improve themselves; they therefore remain bound.” Learning, unlearning and relearning are vital keys for me, difficult but necessary.

My IIGL studies have been more than an academic exercise; they have been a journey of transformation. Therefore, my leadership journey so far has been one of clarity, intentionality, growth, and collaboration. I am becoming the kind of leader who not only drives for results but also inspires people and builds unity across board, at home in my family, my siblings are more united because I engage with them more driving the ideas of love and unity in family settings from their perspective of reasoning, instead of judging, I now reason; at my place of work, I ensure my part as team member of any work schedule is done without delay in order to satisfy all stakeholders thereby achieving the companywide goal.
