Paul Adedayo – Assessments

As A Man Thinketh
Assessment by Paul Adedayo (Nigeria)

1. What idea is personally most important to you in this book?

Vision, dreams and ideas
I once wrote in one of my articles that this world belongs to the dreamer, no matter the family background, the geographical location or the colour of our skin, the only stamp that stick to our name is our vision and the beauty of our dream.

Permit me to quote the author “As the visible world is sustained by the invisible, so men, through all their trials and sins and sordid vocations, are nourished by the beautiful visions of their solitary dreams” This little but mighty book has given me a new perspective about the role of vision in mans’ life, there is no home in the world where electricity is mention without reference to Michael Faraday likewise the Wright Brothers in the world of air craft though these people have drop their breath and their physical appearance is no more but the beauty of their vision stick to their names to this generation even to the generation yet to come.

The God our creator had a vision of creating man. We are God vision evidence. I believe every man permitted to be born into this world must have a vision to fulfill their destiny, in other words any man without vision, dream or come out with lofty ideas does not qualify to live in our world.

While going through this book particularly this section I was prompted to go back to my manufacturer on the drawing board of life (Bible) to redefine my vision on earth. I was able to locate it, I am so sure of it and I believe I am going to save my world, “Indeed the dreamers are the world Saviour.”

Purpose and action
I must commend on the job well done by the author of this powerful book in this section, truly he has dealt with these topic in this section. It’s very important to know that ideas are given by God through our thinking but every idea without any sense of purpose with a good action steps end up like illusion. “Aimlessness is a vice, and such drifting must not continue for him who would steer clear of catastrophe and destruction”

But a good step and action with sense of purpose make man a high Flier achiever.
When a man receives vision ideas or dream from inside the action is on the outside, we can’t conceive an idea and not act on it. I love the way the writer (James Allen) put it “you can not travel within and stand without” Acting on those lofty ideas, dreams are what bring the good fortune to us. I have leant to take action on every conceive ideas or dreams. Though our family background may be poor even the condition we may be may be unfavorable but playing that music in our mind gives us edge to dance in the public.

2. Can you relate the ideas or concept in this book to your personal circumstances in life such as your relationships, your beliefs, your goals, your value etc?

We are about to launch the first editor of our magazine “SUCCESS MAP” (link to the future) when I read this book, base on the resources and the time there was no way we could have launched this Magazine but the principles and power force I got from this book cumulated with my faith to look above and beyond the physical helped to accomplished this task. The principles of the book were a catalyst that builds up my confidence to stand against all odds.

I understand from this book that man himself determine the circumstances around him. Our life may not change if we refuse to change or develop our self. Every thought that goes in and out of our mind with our action is naturally yielded into reality.

If I had accepted failure in that launching there was no way we could have recorded success in that event. Thank to God and the writer of this book (James Allen).

3. what are the most important new ideas or concepts you learned from this book?

Effect of thought on health and body
Every ideas written in this book has been of great value to me, I can’t say one is more important to me than the other, I will only commend on the effect of thought on health and body.

The effect of thought on Health and body is a very crucial aspect in this book. Here, I realize that the body work as the agent for the mind, whatever the thought from the mind the body expressed it at the command of the mind or it automatically act.
At the mistakes of bad thought the body quickly react negatively to it, for example disease and decay but “at the command of beautiful thought it become clothed with youthfulness and beauty” Our thought is the medicine of our good health if our thought is not pure our body will also be un pure, if our thought is not dwelling good our body will also be sick.

4. Has this book challenged or changed your thinking in any way?

Doubt and fear
“Doubt and fear should be rigorously excluded. They are disintegrated elements, which break up the straight-line effort rendering it crooked, ineffectual and useless. Thoughts of doubt and fear can never accomplish anything they always lead to failure. Purpose, energy, Power to do all strong thought cease when doubt and fear creeps in”

The above quoted lines have indeed challenged my thought, when I discovered it through my reading I screamed because this very point has rendered many people unproductive in their various field of endeavour, even some are render aim-less because of fear of taking step on their chosen career and vision.

When fear and doubt creep into our life every thing we know, our sense of purpose gets off, our value becomes irrelevant again and Life becomes miserable. The wise book says, “God has not given us the spirit of fear but of sound mind..” I have learnt how to confront doubt and fear opposition in my life and to be of good courage in daring every challenges of my life. I most say that I have been greatly challenged by this section.

5. Are there ideas in the book that you totally disagreed with?

I will say every individual is entitle to his or her own opinion, base on differences in our perspectives on any idea conceived but to me all ideas shared in this book are destiny moulding tools for aspiring leaders in political, religion, educational or vocational setting

6. What did you find more helpful and least helpful in this book?

Thought factor in the achievement

I must say leaning is a continuous process in life the knowledge of today will only be helpful for today it may not be valid for tomorrow, I have gotten many tools in my hands my understanding re-engineer on thought factor in achievement.

This aspect stroked my mind, I read to understand in this book that no one can help our thought to achieve success except if we are willing to act with our body. Thought can be viable but yet still unproductive when man do not know where when and how to act and applies his thought.

I also understand in this book that a man future is at the mercy of his thought, that is what we become today or in the future is the product of our thought, life answer to the law of ‘karma’ what we sow is what we reap.

We automatically become what we allowed to take over our thought that is our thought is the driver while we are the passenger, no wonder Dr. Mike Murdock says “we move in direction of our dominant thought” The possibility of getting things right or wrong in life is rooted in our daily thinking, failure and success lies in our thought, I once heard some one saying man is the sum total of his thought.

Until our approach to our thought change we don’t have a secure future, the writer stated it clear that “A man can only rise, conquer, and achieve by lifting up his thoughts. He can only remain weak, abject, and miserably by refusing to lift up his thoughts” That is just the simple truth about the whole scenario.

I found it difficult to identify the least helpful ideas in this book because all are inspiring and motivating

Thought weeding
Among others I have found how to weed my thought it was very interesting to me when I discovered it through my reading section. A man’s mind is a garden that requires a thorough weeding to destroy the unwanted harvest that can prevents the main seed sown to bring forth good fruits. Every seed allowed to be sown in the mind produces after if kind in due time, this means if we sow positive thought we reap good fruit, or if we sow negative thought we reap negative fruit. Knowing this makes me appreciate the writer says that we are the “master gardener of our soul” that is whatever happen in our lives is the out come of the seed we have permitted to grow

7. In 50 words or less, please describe the main idea the whole book is trying to convey?

From page one to the last page of this book I have been able to understand the usefulness of mind, how mind can create life through a productive thinking this simply shows that a man’s mind is a manufacturing plant, either for good product or bad product all depends on the type of raw materials (thought) that goes in.
Also its able to spell out the path of acting in bringing to reality conceived ideas, dreams and vision.

Jonathan Livingstone
Assessment by Paul Adedayo (Nigeria)

1. What ideas were personally most important to you in this book?

Persistence: I must confess that by reading this book my understanding is now refreshing more on this subject, breaking all odds and not minding its consequence. I will like to share part of the experience I had on the project I am currently working on in my country. I had done so many things repeatedly without looking back but in some stages I still get discourage but now I have made a strong decision to do it consistently without looking back or discouraged any more

Courage: Among other things, courage has been my watch word in daring every steps of my life, after reading this book with the experience of Jonathan I have regained a new strength to be more courageous in doing things and taking the appropriate steps that will effect a change on my generation, infact I have gotten more power to be more brave to dare every situation and damn every consequence in achieving my vision dream and aspiration.

Right Decision: The decisions we take determine the “great shame or great honour” we get. One right decision we take today can save our entire generation, but one wrong decision can destroy the entire lifetime work and generation. Truly the beginning of every glorious future is never an easy stage, everything looks impossible for the first attempt, the first step usually look like hell, but the decision to start it and keep at it make us excel at it.

My life is an example of this subject; I must say my life would have been miserable if I had taken the wrong decision of following some of my friend to engage in some ungodly deal. Thank God today I am celebrating the triumph of the right decision I took and the destiny of some people were saved by that decision.

This book has given a new light on how to make a right decision and stand by it without compromising step.

Focus: During the course of reading this text I saw a new light on how to be more focused in my pursuit. Pursuit without focus ends up in a trash. Focus is like a wheel screen and any vehicle without a wheel screen while on motion will end into a great disaster.

Jonathan Livingston knew he was on a journey to achieve greatness, he never allowed his wheel screen to be broken he kept at his pursuit until he achieved it. Through his experience in this text I have gotten clear new ideas and perspectives about being focus to achieve my greatest goal in life.

2. Can you relate the ideas or concepts in this book to your personal circumstances in life such as your relationship, beliefs, your goals, your values etc?

To be sincere everything that happens to Jonathan Livingston Seagull has happen to me. Firstly, I grew up without any parental care ‘outcast’ no family, no brother nor sister. I managed to finish my college without any assistance, I went back to continue my high institution education some years after my college.

In spite of all these challenges, I knew inside of me that there is a place for me at the top, while battling with life I caught a vision to develop youth through magazine publications, books and seminars. Though it took me sometime to realized it, but with God’s grace, favour and my being focused, diligent, determination, consistency and mentoring advise of my mentors, the first edition of our magazine titled “SUCCESS MAP” anchor word is the ‘link to the future’ is out now we are currently working on the second editor to God be the glory.

3. What are the most important new or concepts you learn from this book?

Life is in phases and at every new phase we need to get new idea and wisdom to run it; I learnt how to set a new goal for my dream at every stage. (When Jonathan got breakthrough in flying in seventy mile per hour, he desired to go be beyond that, he moved as far as one hundred and forty mile per hour, he never stopped there until he achieved all he could). This gives me a clear understanding about the race of life that success is not a destination it’s a progression never to relax and settle for few achievements but strive for the ultimate goal and get perfection.

I have also discovered through this book that living for what to eat does not add any value to life, but living and aiming at making impact gives life value and add meaning to life. This simply means there is more to life than eating; my life is a proof of God’s existence. By making maximum impact in life with a difference is the evidence of my living on earth.

4. Has this book challenged or change your thinking in any way?

Yes, my eyes are now vividly open to understand that in every situations of life, failing once does not necessarily mean failure, but to learn more and design new ways and techniques to tackle the initial defeat. No one is a failure but turning back completely without trying again is known as failure. I have made up my mind that irrespective of the shame failure might bring to me at every point I will never compromise nor quit at every point of failure instead I will increase my determination to do it more and more until the success is visible in my life.

I have also learnt not to make an ordinary success but success with a difference. (Jonathan didn’t just fly, he was able to fly with a difference among his peer)

5. Are there ideas in the book that you totally disagree with?

Truly speaking, all the ideas embedded in this book are very okay and useful to aspiring world leaders, I can recommend it all for any aspiring youth around me. Infact they are leader’s moulding ingredient

6. What did you find most helpful and least helpful in the book?

There are no ideas shared in this book through the seagull experience that are not helpful to me in running my vision and in handling leadership baton. I will grade them as follows:

Desire: Some one said “what you don’t desire you don’t deserve and what you don’t deserve you don’t get” whatsoever we become in life desire must come first as the foundation. Every other principle will only enhance it, it must set the phase there is no luck in the school of success every outstanding achiever we see today have one time had that trademark (desire). Even the success of our vision is subject to our desire. Jonathan had desire not to be an ordinary seagull but an extra ordinary seagull His desire with his passion helped him to achieve it all. In this text I now understand the role desire play in our vision

Passion: First and foremost is the passion to fly higher than others. Every thing I have become in my life came through my passion. In this book I have learnt to double my passion at every thing I am passionate about. I also understand that we all have what to make us outshine in this world, we can only succeed at it, if we are able to increase our passion. This means “it’s our passion that releases our portion on earth”

Learning: The acquisition of skill in any field of endeavor comes though learning. Learning gives understanding and understanding gives power to display skill. I discovered and concentrated myself on this aspect in other to develop and enhance my skillful production in the pursuance my vision and dreams. Learning extra skills give us an edge over our peers, when we know what others don’t know we gain their audience. Perfection also comes through learning, after reading this book I can now confidently speak on this subject because I have being truly impacted by this book.

To be sincere all the principle I found in this little book can’t be under listed, I can’t tell you one is least helpful because they are practicable and if applied they help in getting the desired result.

7. In 50 words or less, please describe the main idea the whole book is trying to convey?

In summary, the whole idea I was able to capture is all about discovering where our passion lies and taking steps to follow it with absolute determination, commitment and persistence without any barrier of limitation that may stand against it. Also, consistency in learning to make perfection, we can be an icon in any field, dedicated learning brings out the true action in us. Lastly, every happening about our whole being is nothing but our thoughts, we become what we think. There is no limitation any where the only limitation to every world of success is us. If our thought is to achieve the greatest success in life we will definitely achieve it.

Reading through this text I will say my life is operating in a new dimension beyond the way it used to be, I am now moving in higher frequency of boldness and courage to dare the future without looking back. Many of my friend surprised of my courageous steps because I am empowered, I have gotten my confidence back and I am sure of the future. This book has added unquantifiable value into my life, infact, I have now re-branded my decision to become a true influence on people who comes my way rather than obstacle on their path.

New Dynamics of Winning
Assessment by Paul Adedayo (Nigeria)

There are many factors in life that affect one success, it could be people around, it could be events, it could also be a statement from somebody, in my own case this great institution IIGL has affected my life for good. For providing a practical life changing books that has without doubt changed my life. Among the book that has changed my life is this book New Dynamics of Winning.

Out of the wealth of wisdom in the book I have written the following appraisal…

1. What ideas were personally most important to you in this book?

The Drive to Win (The mind set of champion)
The future begins with a sense of foresight and the action taken towards realizing the picture seen at the first sight. There are various steps to be taken to actualize the future pictured which are preparation, hard-work and Careful decision-making.

Every outstanding success is a product of desire and action, though disappointments may come in the process of achieving the set goal but every disappointment is for an appointment.

There is no need to quit at every disappointment but to re-design a new goal and break it to meet the resource at hand. “Stair-step method”

Paying the price
Life is simply a personal adventure which is the price to pay for the ultimate result. No unserious mind brings any result, but hard-work, commitment and calculative steps,

The price for success is commitment; commitment does not necessary mean hard-work but putting the whole body and soul to it is what makes the result outstanding. Denis Waitley painted a very good picture in his book as I quote “If the commitment is there the achievement will follow”

A continuous success circle needs a proactive and constant or continuous leaning. Having the knowledge of rising after every fall.

Setting a standard for individual success can not be excluded in any success journey; excellence in life is a matter of choice of standard chosen.

2. How can you relate the ideas or concepts in this book to your personal circumstances in life such as your relationship, beliefs, your goals, your values etc?

Visualizing Victory
Victory cannot be guaranteed if you don’t continuously see yourself winning. That is the truth about having all-round success. Success is all about foresight, what you can see you can secure, what you see and believe is what you naturally become. The power of vision and sight controls the totality of our being but it is not enough to visualize victory without putting hands to work. That is taking the appropriate steps towards accomplishing the mental pictures seen. Taking steps is not even enough but understanding and knowing the devices that is well strategize and helpful to reach the desire goal. In my little quest for success I have learnt to understand that success can not be real in ones live if the eyes do not glue to a specific pursue. My life wouldn’t have taken a desire shape if the power of focus is not in place.

3. What are the most important new or concepts you learn from this book?

The Quality of Leadership
One of my greatest mentors in the world, Dr David Oyedepo said “leadership is commitment in action; you are either burning with passion or walking with vision. Moving on a mission if you don’t belong to any of these categories of life is a burden.”

I understood very clearly while reading this book that leadership is a responsibility seen as an opportunity in other words leaders don’t live a life of luck but a life of LUCK Labor Under correct knowledge.
Leadership is being courageous to stand for something worth having
Leadership is using strategies to organize a team work to achieve a specific goal
Leadership is appreciating always every bit of effort of the team member.
Leadership is listening to team members’ and gives the right to lead them.

Fame Fortune and Integrity
I leant in my little life that integrity in purpose is the hallmark of every successful achiever; success becomes feasible when consistence becomes the way of life. Every action taken daily should be thoroughly evaluated to enjoy a smooth journey in the quest for success.

Most aspiring leaders don’t live the life of what they preach; this is a question to ask so as to live the actual symbol of our identity in our way of life and in our actions.

The coachability factor
“Losers let things happen, winners makes it happen”

* Discover your limit and your potential, without discovery no recovery until discovery is made by one success is not sure

* All outstanding leaders have their root in leaning no leader can successfully lead without leaning. Though it is good to listen to yourself and trust in your judgment but it is always good to be a leaning leader.

* Every aspiring leader should be a wise and wide leaner in all fields.

* Get a mentor by an outstanding individual who will be ready to hear you out before you get into bottled neck.

* “School is never out for the winner, education is a life long process” Enroll for what interest you to acquire the skills you desire.

* Net work with winner; I got an understanding that association is not for socialization but for acceleration. Any one who desires to get the best need people of like mind to climb on.

4. Has this book challenged or change your thinking in any way?

The Olympian Within
Success always begins with the desire to reach a particular goal, but the fact remains that every accomplishment in life must begins with a genuine purpose and must centre on affecting lives not gathering possession and amassing assets. You have to grow into perfection; Rome was not built in a day, imperfect situation or default time in any pursuit helps you to know your weakness and to build strength to be able to move to the next level and become the high performer, but if any one refuses perfection at the first stage of a career or pursuit the person is not planning to move to the next level of that pursuit.

Also being positive, in action, in word and in belief; Apart from my findings in this book I have come to understand that affirmative talk and belief helps in realizing a dream faster than you can ever think.

5. Are there ideas in the book that you totally disagree with?

Total no

6. What did you find most helpful and least helpful in the book?

Self Confidence and Self-Transformation
I discover in my little experience that been confident is one of the qualifications for success. There is nothing being done at the best that does not require confidence, when this factor is lacking doubt and fear sets in and every thing attempted may not yield desired result. Permit me to quote James Allan the author of as a man thinketh in is hearth “Doubt and fear should be rigorously excluded. They are disintegrated elements, which breaks up the straight-line effort rendering it crooked, ineffectual and useless. Thoughts of doubt and fear can never make anyone accomplish anything, doubts and fears always lead to failure. Purpose, energy, power to do, all strength ceases when doubt and fear creeps in”

Here are some major points inspired through this book New Dynamics of Winning that can help in building up confidence;

Focus: when an eye is focused on a particular object every other thing becomes irrelevant and cannot hold us back in achieving the desired goal.

Self assessment or evaluation: at every point of our life there is a need to do self assessment to weigh the actions taken toward making success.

Always prepared for a change: you have not done it well does not mean you cannot do it right again at every time after self-evaluation there is need to change some areas that are not done right and take a new step or a new diction with an absolute determination to breakthrough.

Preparation: the level of preparation determines the level of success you will attain in life. In any project set out to pursue there is a level of our preparation to give us the courage and confidence stand against all odds of life.

Get the knowledge and the fact: dreams and visions without application of knowledge is like mental illusion but the acquisition and it application makes the pursuit colourful.

Mind factor: Every thought that goes in and out of the mind be it negative or positive determine the breakthrough will get, learning to handle the thought in the mind is the beginning of unending success.

Self Talk: What other say about us is just their perception but will say about our self matter most.

Strength through Mental Toughness
I understand from this book that a step taken to pursue a goal distinguishes us from the crowd. There are procedures to success, you can’t walk into success you only work into success. the desire to succeed trigger up from inside, mind devices the way to achieves it and hands work it out, nevertheless what happen at these stages the joy of future drives us on and helps to accomplish it.
Secrets of Greatness

* Give yourself a mental toughness to build your strength for un-explainable success

* Always set a goal and to develop more on it after been reaching the set goal as Motorola company did.

* Learn the up-rise and downfall of every successful man ever lived to build the stronghold of continues success.

* Discover your weakness and work on it

* Join the leagues of achiever whose dream and vision is similar to yours but never being associated with the people who have unresolved problem or being frustrated by lack of success.

7. In 50 words or less, please describe the main idea the whole book is trying to convey?

It’s one thing to preach the word; it is another thing to devote your entire life time to living it.

The true secret about success is that success comes from happiness and happiness is a product of love. That is loving what you do. Love is the result of passion generated through the discovery of yourself and your potential. I cherish the way Denis Waitley described it in this book “winning is taking the talent and potential you are born with, developing it and using it fully to toward a purpose that makes you feel worthwhile.

In conclusion, I will say that your wealth is not in your qualification it’s in your “callingfication” located and pursued to the fullness.

Psycho-Cybernetics 2000
Assessment by Paul Adedayo (Nigeria)

1. What Ideas were personally most important to you in this book?

Self Image: The Key to You Personality
I will start by making reference to the author’s word that say’s “Each of us carry a mental picture of ourselves” That is, we are what we think we are. No one has access to our minds, no wonder the Hebrew text says “as a man thinketh in is hearth so is he” what people say about us are just mere expressions of their opinion, its never a reality about us.

Mans’ personality is a thing of the mind which automatically affects our outward look negatively or positively. The limit of man success lies in his mental image, that is to say our perception determines our distinction in life. If we are not doing well in a particular pursuit it is traceable to our believe system about that pursuit, we can as well do very well only if we change our mental picture, permit me to quote the writer “any one can start a new and self fulfilling life by changing his self-image”

2. Can you relate the ideas or concepts in this book to your personal circumstances in life such as your relationships, your beliefs, your goals, your values, etc

Imagination and Visualization
While working on this assessment my computer system developed a problem and got crashed to the extend that I could not retrieve any information from it, all my personal documents, office documents and other things went off just like that, every thing looked like the whole world was falling apart on me. In the office my boss had asked me for so many data and reports documented in the computer I could not give any. My personal program schedules plan and some important document that I have no idea of how to re-write them. But my confidence came alive when a little idea dropped from this book stated bellow, seeing the end from the beginning. I viewed this event like it never occurred, I started all over again till I saw the end.

The power of imagination
The starting point of every successful journey begins with imagination that is to set a goal for our success which visualizes works that will to become reality. “Beliefs are powerful, they created commute, order our live and define our capability but, your imagination is even more powerful, because it can change your belief” I strongly believe that our life dance to the tune of our imagination, nothing happens to us by chance any thing that happens to any man’s in life either positive or negative has one time passed through the passage of our imagination by the right brain of our brain.

Visualization
It true that imagination plays a vital role in our success but visualization can not be put aside, imagination only last for a while but visualization is sticking to the picture seen in the first place. I can as well say visualization is the fuel of an engine and no vehicle engine works without fuel that is just how visualization is to our dreams.

3. What are the most important new ideas or concepts you learned from this book?

Fake it until you make it
Wahoo this is a the very important aspect that I love so much, I will say it is the most important aspect in this book. I understood from this book that their two types of mind the conscious mind and the subconscious mind.

The conscious mind is the owner of imagination every creative and positive idea is created from the mind even negatives ideas came from it. Also there is subconscious mind which is the servant to the conscious mind. It automatically acts on every thought effectively at the command of conscious mind. This two minds work as the mechanism for our success or failure.

With this understanding I vividly understand that there is nothing called misfortune in life, every result gotten by individual is a product of our conscious mind executed by the subconscious mind. The author painted a beautiful picture here “your perception of what is real is entirely a function of what you imagine to be real” so our destiny is at the mercy of our mind and our imaginations.

4. Has this book challenged or changed your thinking in any way?

How to Reprogram Your Success Mechanism
The level of success we achieve is determined by the level of mind set we have. The writer painted a good graphic picture here that “success is instinctive, but sometimes we block the instinct” any body can succeed if he has the guts to, nothing can be so calamitous like not having a prepared mind to forge ahead. Success does not answer to luck and chance it only answer to the brain programming through our mental picture, that is why someone said “the future you can not picture you can’t feature in it”

I understand from this book that “self image has nothing to do with reality. It was something that has been learned and can be re-evaluated and changed any thing that can be challenge can be relearned with a new data” I quite agreed with the writer that we can recreate a new self-image program.

Every change that affects our life depends on how we value change that is without desperation we can not experience reformation.

I got empowered by the principles of this book titled CRAFT to recreate a new self-image. The word craft is an acronym in this book gives us a better understanding on how to reprogram our self-image.

C-Cancel: negative image come into our mind but the truth is what we don’t permit has no right to remain. Whenever it comes we should cancel it out of our mind.

R –Replace: necessary things to do to help our mind after the canceling process has taken place is to replace with positive image and data.

A-affirm: affirm the new image to yourself. I am a Hebrew book student and I understood from this ancient book that There are two ways to life, the Hebrew text says “life and death are in the power of your tongue” and “I have laid before you life and death therefore choose life and live” any time we confess positive we get it in return.

F-Focus: focus on the image of the successful you. I agreed with the saying that the brain works in pictures, what we don’t see you can’t experience. When we visualize victory it comes automatically.

T-Train: train yourself for lasting change. James Allan said “you can not travel within and stand without” the process of change is reinforced by acting on what is seen about yourself. No one is a custodian of knowledge, no matter the big picture we visualized about ourselves without train is like illusion.

5. Are there ideas in the book that you totally disagree with? If so, why?

Well I will say NO

6. What did you find most helpful and least helpful in this book?

Breaking Away From Our False Belief System
Sometime we are being imprisoned by the false believes and many destinies have ended in grave based on their false belief system “what you believe conditions what you can do” The truth is that our mind system is dynamic there is nothing that can not be change irrespective of what people might have said about us that we grew up to believe, I will say it is just their own view about us it is never a reality. We can change it and prove them wrong by using the principle called ‘CRAFT’ to erase that the old tape from our brain and start with the new tape we want.

SEEDS
I have learnt how to use SEEDS to view Situations, Evaluate the problem, Emotionally change to suit the situation, Do what is necessary to comfort the situation and Self esteem.

SMART: our goal setting is the bedrock of our success without a concrete plan the destiny of any dream or vision may be heading for a crash. I enjoyed the ellipsis meaning of the word SMART of the author which is bellow:
S-specifies to what your goals are
M-measurable, measure your goal after choosing the direction you whish to go.
A-action-oriented, having a goal is not the big deal but the action steps taken towards it that makes it reality.

T-time conscious with your goal

SUCCESS
In my own meaning through the insight I got from this book I will define success as the transformation of imagination into reality. Transformation is a change from one position to another, life is dynamic and before a man can fit into it, he needs to understand the principles that govern the transformation. Through this book I fund the acronym principle of Success very helpful to live an unending life of success.

S-sense of direction,
U-understanding,
C-courage,
C-charity,
E-esteem
S-self-confidence
S-self-acceptance

I will conclude this section without exaggerating that all the principles are vital keys of success and no one is rated least.

Success Through A Positive Mental Attitude
Assessment by Paul Adedayo (Nigeria)

1. What Ideas were personally most important to you in this book?

The Mind, Not Necessary the Whole Body

Everything we see on the surface of the earth came into existence through critical use of the power of the mind. The computer with high speed of 186300 miles per second was created by the use of the mind. The mind: is capable to do so many things we engage it to do, I once wrote an article titled “Mind the manufacturing plant of great invention” Every thing need to make life better and to live it to the fullness is embedded in our mind but we do not make the mind to work to it capacity. I enjoyed the author’s philosophical statement which says “whatever the mind can conceive and believe the mind can achieve it with PMA”. We are more than a body with the brain, we can do more than what we think we can. The writer says “you can do it if you believe you can” there is nothing that is not achievable every thing is possible if only we can position our mind better to achieve our aspiration.

I still strongly believe that every greatness is traceable to our mind through conceived ideas, no wonder someone said “the owner of an idea is the ruler of the world”. Milo in this book was confined to his bed as result of illness but in never got defeated by this limitation, he made use of his mind to create an impact and unending wealth for his family. Nick Vijuvic is also a good example. He was born without hands and legs but this predicament never tied him down not to achieve his dream and aspiration. His world is rejoicing for him being born.

I understand that there is seed of greatness in every human being permitted to be born in to this world, the seed can be sow, nurture and be trade for whatever we desire. Every resource needed to fulfill our purpose in life is rooted inside us if only we can seat down to find it out. Bok Edward was able to locate his own and he became a celebrated personnel in his lifetime.

This idea drives me on my feet to think more, exploit my mind more, dream more and to take more risk. I do imagine if Nick and Milo can dream and achieve so much I have no excuse not to make impact in my world.

2. Can you relate the ideas or concepts in this book to your personal circumstances in life such as your relationships, your beliefs, your goals, your values, etc

If You Don’t Have Money Use OPM

I will say this is one of the great secrets I have been searching for in books and am happy that I found it. The secret helped me in actualizing my dreams. I‘ve been thinking tirelessly on how to finance a particular project which I started some years ago but it seems there was no way, just by laying my hands on this book I got the gut to approach my banker for credit facility, I gave him my term and conditions he agreed to give the cash credit but he objected one of the condition, I quickly agreed with him because it favours me too. Not only that the next edition of our magazine was about to come out all other things have been done only to settle the printer but the money was not forthcoming I discussed with one of the team members he offer a suggestion to meet a new printing company for a deal, I keyed to his advised and I took a giant step, to God be the glory the negotiation resulted into a big success.

3. What are the most important new ideas or concepts you learned from this book?

Clear the Cobweb from your Thinking

From this section I understand that it’s true that cobwebs are the negative assumptions that rob us of our success. When a negative assumption is made a logical reasoning must be engaged to conclude on a false premise. We can make a worthwhile achievement but the fact remains that our reasoning must be on the positive premises. I agree with some one who said “To make a worthwhile achievement thinking does…” But our thinking must be logical and must base on positive premises.

Another area that thrills my thought and very important to me is the word ‘necessity’ is it a necessity to achieve greatness in life, is it of necessity to remain poor or is it of necessity to do something good or is of necessity to do evil? Think of it we have a choice to make.

4. Has this book challenged or changed your thinking in any way?

To be factual I have been greatly challenged by this book, firstly is through the story of the little boy called S.B. Fuller, This boy was not content with his family circumstances and through his mother words he was able to break the jinx of poverty in his family. I love his mother advice and the perception his mother created for him “We shouldn’t be poor S.B…. we are poor-not because of God…. We are poor because no one has ever developed a desire to be wealthy” these very words set my mind on fire to develop a new approach of thinking of changing my world with a foot print on the face of the earth.

Secondly, I was challenged by the principles called Positive Mental Attitude (PMA) and Negative mental Attitude (NMA). After reading this principle with understanding I concluded in my thought by asking myself that can an unhappy man with negative attitude affect his world? The response is no, I appreciate the way it is being written here “You can’t be unhappy with your world and change it” no condition can put limit or determine man’s destination; even physical disability does not mean your limitation if PMA is employed.

Thirdly at this section, I understand that there are books and there is also an ancient book that gives birth to books which is the manufacturer manual of our lives. I love the way the author of this book make more references and recognized this ancient book and it principles I mean the Bible. I am so much challenged and encouraged to consult my manual.

Lastly, the power of prayer and the recognition to the Almighty the Divine Intelligent that was mention repeatedly, I so much embraced this. The truth is, no matter the viability of an idea, learning or training may be to a child without God is like raising a smart devil. Recognizing God as the totality of our life is what makes live yield into a total success for us.

5. Are there ideas in the book that you totally disagree with? If so, why?

Absolute no

6. What did you find most helpful and least helpful in this book?

Attract-Don’t-Repel Wealth

It is so amazing to discover wealth principle in this book, the presentation of this wealth principle is so beautiful that it can not be compared with other books presentation. This section open my eyes to see how valuable my thoughts are, now I understand vividly “that a man thought is the foundation upon which all else is built”. Wealth without begins within but there are certain principles that accompanies our thoughts to become viable which I equally got through this book, firstly, setting a goal through planning and writing. Secondly, taking the appropriate steps, Thirdly, going the extra mile. Fourthly, periodic checking to avoid losing focus.

And something More
I learnt to understand that the reason why many people remain stagnant in one position is as a result of discontinuity in their quest to make success. When a proper finding is made with a divine direction to embark on a pursuit any obstacle(s) encountered on the way is to make us strong and better. Obstacle or Failure does not mean failure when you try again it only implies to do something more. I enjoyed Euclid’s who say “The whole is equal to the sum of all the parts and is greater than any of its part”. You do not succeed at the first try because you do not know it all, if you had known the whole process to success you could had made it once. The case study of Alexander Bill Graham and Philipp Reis gave me a very good insight about success journey, Philipp Reis could have made history on early telegram invention if he knew it all, he couldn’t because he failed and did not press on, Bill pressed on until he got the secret and made the history. This story is a food for thought for all

Creating opportunity from Problem….
From my little understanding I grew up to know that challenges in life are designed to make us better. Whenever I am faced with challenges my moto is always “without adversity there is no advancement” and it has been giving me courage to move forward. I was so touched by the story of Charlie Word in this book, in spite of the challenges he was going through he embraced it and turned it to a fortune, that what is challenges does to life. I remember the story of Gold, Silver and Bronze my mentor told me, these three elements are found in one source but they created differently in value haven pass through fire. The Bronze settle for average because it can’t stand the text of fire, Silver also park along side because he can’t bear the fire any more but Gold withstood the fire to become a first class resource. Every obstacle or opposition is for our uplifting, but seen an opportunity ahead of the opposition maximizing it by feet on grand is what gives us the edges.

7. In 50 words or less, please describe the main idea the whole book is trying to convey.

Every positive thought that is permitted to conceive in the mind can be achievable through positive mental attitude. This book has able to demonstrate practically teaching on how we can achieve any conceived idea through a positive Mental Attitude PMA

Giant Steps
Assessment by Paul Adedayo

1. What Ideas were personally most important to you in this book?

Change Is a Must
Everything in existence has the ability to change, especially man. We have the ability to change by nature also to change our environment and our status. A man’s change emanates from his belief on the area that needs change physically, financially, or academically. “The resources we needed to change anything in our life are within US right now” but this change comes if only there is a desire for it.

I appreciate the author changing techniques called NAC of change even though he did not mention the spiritual way of dealing with change. The spiritual ways of making change is the outstanding way of making a long lasting change in life. As I have said the change start from our belief, the fact remains that every physical thing has its root in spiritual realm that is the spiritual realm controls the physical realm. So every desire to make a change must be laid on spiritual foundation. In spite of his non-spiritual explanation, his NAC techniques are good to deal with the non-spiritual of physical change.

2. Can you relate the ideas or concepts in this book to your personal circumstances in life such as your relationships, your beliefs, your goals, your values, etc

Make That Move
* Nothing good happens by accident, having a good dream without a decisive step makes no greatness. Nothing can be so painful like an unrealized dream.
* A simple step can become something very great for us.
* Age is not a barrier to our success it is just a thing of the mind
* We can be successful by increasing our positive emotion daily
* Feel good at any moment of our life even at a painful situation

These principles have helped me to accomplish more success in my office. Not too long ago, my boss disengaged her appointment with the organization. I immediately seized the opportunity and drew up my own plan with action oriented steps to take up the management of the place, though we were just three key officers with about nineteen junior staff in my department and now left with just two key officers. Today things have dramatically changed. The step I made to take-up the managerial position of my department has created me a niche within and outside my organization. My managerial skill and the leadership styles applied are unique and excellence. I have received many congratulatory words, appreciation from the board of director for my excellence performance and exceptional skill posses. Thanks to almighty God for the great achievement.

6. What did you find most helpful and least helpful in this book?

To be sincere this book has added value to me, in my work life and in the pursuant of my vision, I cannot find any least helpful techniques in this book but I will grade the most helpful one accordingly as follows,

* Dream: The starting point of our future, which results to our destiny, is by dreaming what to become in life.
* Decision: the quality of your achievement in life lies in the quality of your decision, “our decisions-not the condition of our life determine our destiny” your can have a lofty idea without making any impact in life. Ask your self how quality is your decision towards actualizing your dream?
* Seed of greatness: every man permitted to be born into the world to live has equal percentage of greatness deposited inside but we do not get the same level of result base on our consciousness and attitude towards this greatness in us
* Taking the giant step: the quality of success story records by man is traceable to his consciousness and step taking. A beautiful dream without a right step is like a flight of the imagination.
* Develop a goal setting strategy: by defining your goal, streamline it, and give a timeline.
* Creating a success habit: while imagining one at the centre of success creates a positive or habit that will speed the success to become reality.

Keys To Success
Assessment by Paul Adedayo (Nigeria)

1. What Ideas were personally most important to you in this book?

I can confidently say here that success is obtainable, achievable and even enjoyable to those who strongly desire to have it. There is no man who desires success who does not have his platform to get it, that is why Napoleon Hill came out with his principle of Definiteness of Purpose which stands as the back bone of success among others. The fact remains that success is real and operates on principle. I quite appreciate Napoleon Hill on how he presented this principle in this book. To begin with some of his views about success which I got from his book.

Mind the valuable secret for utmost success: every greatness begins in the mind as a matter fact no one succeeds without the consent of the mind. The thought produced by the mind stands as the power that creates desired wealth. I so much appreciate the way Hill painted the picture here “our real wealth is the intangible power of our thought”

Alertness of opportunity: here is a crucial one I learnt to understand that there is gold everywhere we are standing per time if only we can see it with the our eyes and our thought.

Decision making capacity: I enjoy this very point so much with an understanding that our decision have the capacity to put our life on motion, with this thought in my mind I concluded in my mind that no decision no destiny.

Success consciousness: when definiteness of purpose is operated upon success conscious fall in line. Your insight comes up, the thought from the mind receive power, ideas are born daily, and courage is spring to dare any steps. While others complain about an ugly situation an opportunity is seen. Creativeness becomes your life style. Success is not in view until your entire thinking and body system is restless and desperate to achieve success. Every bit of steps taken is not just for the sake of taking steps but well calculated and action oriented to achieve the ultimate goal.

Creating a plan: I read in the wise book that “can any man who wants to build a tower not count his cost” prior to any step taking a working and realistic plans must be on sketched to enhance easy flow of success for any pursue.

Creating opportunity: At every step of our life opportunities exist. We are short of success not because of the geographical boundary but because we are shortsighted. Because our mind is not functioning the way it ought to be, I cherish the way Hill put it here “the only limit they have are those within their own mind… our real wealth is in the intangible power of thought”

2. Can you relate the ideas or concepts in this book to your personal circumstances in life such as your relationships, your beliefs, your goals, your values, etc

Promptness of Decision
I will say this book is an angel in print, to be sincere I was on the voyage of taking a very a drastic decision in my life when I picked this book and started reading the chapter three of this book. It was about 1;05am in the midnight when I open to chapter three of this book, although I was contemplating on my decision but immediately I read the this quoted sentence I got a sense of direction for myself “In the fast moving world those who do not move quickly can not keep up with the parade… even if you have the vision to recognize it thought a fast decision on your part it will gone” I must say that I had a miracle, my eyes opened to recognize which area to follow, the steps to take and a quick decision was reached for me. Thank to Almighty God who gives Hill the inspiration for this great work and for this miracle on my path.

Effective speech
This area sensitized me on what I had already known before, the wise book says “how forcefully are right words”. Not just speaking but right words, that is the timely words that people need for there liberation. I like the way Hill explained it here “… the Destiny of nations have been changed and defined by the power of those who know how to speak effectively…” while I was still on this book I met a young man who has an ambition of leaving the country to settle abroad, I asked him why he said to me that from the look of things that it seems there is no future for him in this country. I got angry from inside me my reply to him was his liberation. I got an understanding that when you have the solution to people problems you get their audience. I tried to paint a picture that his prosperity is not abroad but from above. I opened up opportunities that he has the chance to venture into, I gave him the example of the people who had been there and how they got there. I made a practical statement that struck him and conveyed to him the conviction of my enthusiasm “impact is all about affection towards that which you find yourself doing, the fact remains that you can impact the people you don’t love… I concluded with him that I’ve made a decision that the day I will leave this country to settle in another county would be the day God should call me home” At the end of my short conversation with him I could see his countenance changed and his old concept about the country changed. The second day he called me on the impact that single conversation has made in his life.

3. What are the most important new ideas or concepts you learned from this book?

MASTERMIND ALLIANCE
“You will not succeed if you can not convince other people to cooperate with you and if you do not live in accordance with strict standards….” Reading this little sentence liberated me from my unknown bondage of my ignorance though I have read so many books on team work but is like I have not read any after reading the mastermind alliance I quite agree with Hill that “The value of the wealth that comes with success is traceable to the lesson acquired with it”

Basically what spring up my liberation is from the concept of mastermind alliance, this greatly challenged me to go back to my drawing board to work more on how to be more efficient and effective in my leadership acquisition and being a good team maker.

4. Has this book challenged or changed your thinking in any way?

Use Applied Faith
This subject is simple but so broad. There is no way you apply the law of faith without understanding the place of God. We can only demonstrate unshakable faith on the premises of our love for the infinite intelligence and you can’t love him without being spiritual. The wise book says “for by him all things created that are in heaven, and that are in the earth…” Having this understanding we discover that nothing is achievable without his hand in it. There are parameters which allow the faith to work effectively;

* Cultivating faith in our mind
* Avoid doubt and fear in your mind
* Replace fear with hope
* Making the move while faith in action

5. Are there ideas in the book that you totally disagree with? If so, why?

It would be a big lie if I say yes though our response is base on our view; to me this book is more than affecting my life it has transformed my life in a unique ways that I can not explain.

6. What did you find most helpful and least helpful in this book?

GOING EXTRA MILE
Success in life is not by chance but correct positioning through commitment, diligence and going the extra mile. I learned so many things in this chapter even though I possessed some character attributed by Hill in this book. The truth is no one knows it all but through constant learning and continuity we become better. I must say that the level I have attained in my organization is not by chance. Presently am overseeing a department in a consulting firm by virtue of my commitment and going extra mile on the job. Though I have so many things at hand yet I still give my excellent services to them. Above all one of our clients actually took interest in my incredible services and [he] personally gave me some work to render for his firm. Part of the tools that I found so good that have helped me so far on my job that Hill also mentions here are;

* Go extra mile: going extra mile not for the sake of getting personal thing in return but for fulfillment in your purpose.

* Enthusiasm: Having the mind to do things against all odd

* Creating an indispensable atmosphere around your job not only your area of your specialization

* Self-improvement: Daily work on yourself for the benefit of knowing more than your peers. Someone says when you know what others don’t know you get their audience

* Pleasing attitude: Truly gong extra mile increases your chance of gaining acceptability with people in spite of that cultivating a good relationship is also very important.

* Self initiative: Make things happen instead of waiting for things to happen also create opportunity where others think nothing could happen

* Self-confidence: Always stand to convince others of every idea introduced and steps taken.

* Overcoming procrastination: Greatness has this as a trap, to join the league of achievers we need to avoid procrastination with all possibility.

I love this formula written here by Hill q1 +q2 +ma= c it created a very good picture to me.

Q 1= is the quality of service rendered
Q 2= is the quantity of service rendered
M A= is the mental attitude in which it is rendered.
C = is your compensation

While meditating on this Hill’s formula I got an understanding that while people fail is because they made the compensation the first in their pursuit. In every human pursuit there is always a constant C for your compensation but when it made the first in the jeopardize others.

Control Your Enthusiasm
I learnt one great lesson from the ancient book of Greek that says “seeth a man who is diligent in his work he shall stand before kings and not mean men” stand before the king simply mean stand out in a crowd. I conclude in my view on this subject that there is no great accomplishment that does not demand enthusiasm. Enthusiasm is the power that makes things work. Nothing compared like the power of enthusiasm in the service or pursuits rendered. Flourishness comes when there is zeal for accomplishment.

Self-Discipline
No matter how talented a child may be if he lacks self discipline his gift may not see the light of the day. Discipline is the hallmark for greatness. Every other principle in this book finds their root in the self discipline. Life become a burden when discipline is not enforced “Discipline is the channel through all your personal power for success must flow”

Time Factor
I found this area very interesting among other principles tagged ‘the big four’ under this section. I belief that life is market and the only currency allowed for trading is TIME the big question is how do we value our time?

7. In 50 words or less, please describe the main idea the whole book is trying to convey.

So far so good on this book I am more than inspired by the 17 principles of success recommended by the author. The principles are meant for success-oriented people to carve an niche in any field of endeavor.

Real Magic
Assessment by Paul Adedayo

I will start by giving profound gratitude to the author of this book. Among every other book I have read so far this one has touched my area of interest thoroughly with a unique point of view. To be sincere I have rated it the very best.

1. What Ideas were personally most important to you in this book?

Creating an Inner Path For Real Magic
Every day and in every area of our life we need a miracle, even the ancient Greek book attest to it that “He daily loaded us with good things” miracles are good thing and each day we should be expectant to have it, any day we do not experience a miracle we should know that we have denied ourselves of miracle. But I got to understand through this book that miracles operate on a platform of our IMAGINATION. Miracles can happen to any man but through the imagination from our mind, that was why the oldest book says “As man thinketh so is he”. If I may say man is a product of his imagination. I quite agree with Henry Miller who says “the world is not to put in other, the world is other incarnated it is for us to put ourselves in unison with others” now it’s true that we are left with choice to put ourselves in order through our thinking.

Get Purpose
The staring point of every high flier begins with the sense of purpose to life, many people take life with levity that is why they are unable to be in-charge of their life. The author painted a good picture here that struck my thinking “… you came from what we called nothingness (no boundaries, no rules no limit no form) to somethingness” the question I pose to you is ‘why’ would you come from formlessness without forming something but show up in a human body to live for a period of time and then go back into eternity, or formlessness? With this picture in my mind I came out with a thought that man’s purpose determines his portion of greatness in life and it takes a purposeful approach to command unlimited, result in the race of life.

Ready For Change
A genuine change is conceived in the mind activated in by proper planning and sustained by positioning to learn more. Nothing changes until there is a resolution from the mind to change. I saw a very good picture while going through this book “the ability to create a real magic involve first being a student …” This is a very good graphic illustration of change, no wonder Isaac Newton says “if I have seen beyond my peers it is because I am standing on the shoulders of those who have gone ahead of me” Every tool needed to make the desirable change is available, it only takes the readiness and positioning to learn.

Creating a Miracle Mindset
This is one of the crucial aspects in this book that need a thorough examining for a life of unlimited real magic. I believe miracles don’t just happen, miracles occur on a platform until the platform is well cultivated the real magic is not experienced, I believe Fourteen key for creating a miracle mind-set or platform by Dr. Wayne are best platform to operate a life of miraculous.

Fourteen Key for Creating A Miracle Mind-Set Or Platform
• Reserve your judgment and disbelieve.
• Create a real-magic zone in your mind
• Affirm yourself as a no limit person
• Develop a new mind-set toward the concept of intuition
• Discover the secret that sits in the centre and knows
• Learn through knowing and trusting rather than doubting and fearing
• Affirm that your intention creates your reality
• Experience surrender satori
• Learn to act as if the life you visualize were already here
• Live according to your spiritual self first and your physical self second
• Study the paradox, “you can never get enough of what you don’t want.”
• Ask nothing of anyone and practice unconditional acceptance
• Begin to develop authentic power for yourself
• Practice daily meditation.

2. Can you relate the ideas or concepts in this book to your personal circumstances in life such as your relationships, your beliefs, your goals, your values, etc

Miracle is real and it happens daily for a conscious mind who takes notice of the spirituality. Having the understanding the consciousness of the present of the Divine intelligence we will begin to experience the real miracle, the oldest Greek book says “ He daily load us with blessing” if we don’t experience miracle in our life daily then we are not operating or well position ourselves for it. Based on the principle of this book coupled with my understanding of spiritual life I have enjoyed enormous daily miracle and divine guidance.

3. What are the most important new ideas or concepts you learned from this book?

Real Magic and Your Relationship
I found this section very unique and interesting, I got a new insight that “the true measure of how your life is going is in how you function with other people” Also the beginning of any man’s miracle of success lies in his relationship with the people around him, the immediate family, even his coworker. A well laid relationship yields into a quick success and “the ability to create a real magical relationship in your life begins and ends with you.” There are basis where this real magic is being displayed in the relationship which I understand in this book and well explained with very good graphical examples, they are as follows.

The Mind: Real magic can be only obtainable when mind is redefined and understands its uniqueness as a spiritual being residing in the physical body and connecting it with the flows of the thought.

Thought: The flow of thought from the mind automatically produces either a miracle or otherwise. Also our thought about other people’s behaviors around us influences the real magic in our life. In spite of the behavior and the action generated by the people around us it should not be held against them instead show love from your mind. Remember you are the architect of your thought.

Purpose: I quite agree with the author’s notion that “The quality of our lives is directly connected to the quality of our relationships to the people in our lives” which stand as the backbone of our purpose. We are here on earth for a purpose, getting your life to this purpose is crucial because it is the only place where you can begin to manifest miracle but the truth here is if our purpose is not centered on affecting people around us we have no worth in live.

Love: I got an understanding that the ingredients that form the basis for real magic operates dependent on one another. Love is essential to our achievement, not for the sexual relationship only but it goes beyond that, love is simply all about giving and adding value to life where love does not exist that will not attract giving, love is selfless love is demonstration of God’s awesomeness on earth and God is love.

4. Has this book challenged or changed your thinking in any way?

Spirituality
Before I laid my hand on this book I was reading a book by Mike Murdock one of the spiritual leaders titled the Holy Spirit this book has given preamble of being spiritual, immediately I finished with the book I took this book call the Real Magic it widen my understanding about being spiritual and the consequence of being non-spiritual.

I adore this quote by the Bhagavad-Gita that says “we are born into the world of nature our second birth is into the world of spirit” Every happening on earth exist in the spiritual realm before the physical stage, that is why when there is doubt in our belief it occur exactly in the physical. God is spirit and can only relate with him based on spirit, the ancient book of Greek told me that “no canal man receive things of the spirit” with this fact coupled with the author’s view about the real magic I got a clear understanding that man can create the real magic in his mind if he decides to be spiritual.

5. Are there ideas in the book that you totally disagree with? If so, why?

Absolute none

6. What did you find most helpful and least helpful in this book?

Real Magic and your Prosperity
Indeed this chapter is a light on my path concerning the subject of prosperity. I understand that no man is born poor; our birth is equal without any extra attached wealth to it, but why are some having more than others? I read from the wise book that “the wealth of the earth is for all” but the wealth is not equally displayed, which there are “whys” to this predicament. This book provided an answer for the ‘why’ questions;

* We have every thing to order our prosperity but change the inner picture of your image
* Treasuring the inner picture … never let the picture get blurred because inside lies your prosperity
* Trust the power of your mind
* Condition your thought to generate a prosperous thought
* Develop a service mentality
* Make giving your life style
* Allow the flow of joy at all times

Law of Attraction
Assessment by Paul Adedayo (Nigeria)

1. What Ideas were personally most important to you in this book?

RESET YOUR VIBE WITH POWER OF SPOKEN WORDS
“…. Life and death lies in the power of your tongue….” Apart from the natural implication of words, I understand vividly that everything in existence is a product of words. The physical or natural even the spiritual takes order from the spoken word. The destiny of an individual, even a nation has been reposition for better by the attraction of the words generated by the vibe possessed while horrible wars, death and destruction has taken over the destiny of nation even as individual. This simply means we are create or destroy by what we say. Your vibe creates, the type of word altered out from the mouth matter to your life. I cherish the way Michael .J Lousier painted the picture “your thought are made up of words eg WORD _THOUGHT (Make up of the words) __FEELINGS (positive or negative vibe) “

ERASE DON’T, NOT AND NO
“Positive and negative emotions cannot occupy the mind at the same time. One or the other must dominate. It is your responsibility to make sure the positive emotion constitute the dominating influence in your mind” by Napoleon Hill

From this book I understand that our mind naturally internalizes the exact thing we use it to do especially when using the words like DON’T, NOT and NO. The moment these words are mentioned there is natural energy that activates it into action in our mind but we can control it by asking a question to turn it to what we actually want. This approach will help to immediately erase the natural energy that spring up what we don’t want See. See how it being illustrated in this book “When you make a statement containing the words don’t, not or no, you are actually giving attention and energy to what you don’t want. Simply ask yourself, so. What do I want?”

INCREASE ATTENTION VIBE
Attraction needs energy to draw near whatsoever the mind desires. The natural law of attraction will only attract the desired object and it can be faster than you ever thought if only you increase the magnetic power of focus. Magnetic reaction power only attracts an object when they are North Pole and South Pole. Well it is a scientific proven theory, and it is a fact when it comes to human application of reaction towards the law of reaction in natural sense. Going by the author’s explanation giving increasing attention vibration, I presume that our desires simply represent the North Pole magnesium while energy and focus represent the south pole magnesium. The law of attraction can only be perform when the two conditions are available for reaction. And the attraction is discharged quickly when there is increase in the focusing magnesium.

2. Can you relate the ideas or concepts in this book to your personal circumstances in life such as your relationships, your beliefs, your goals, your values, etc

INFORMATION THE WINGS OF HIGH FLIERS
One great lesson my mentor taught me and asked me not to ever play with is information and this book also makes mentions it. To attain and maintain we need to ride on information that is why someone said, “if we do not get the details we may be detained”. Relating this vital tool to the law of attraction, I got an understanding that you cannot attract what you don’t have knowledge of. Our desire can only be swift on the wings of information. The truth here is that we are in the world of information and every reaction revolves and changes based on the information we get daily. No knowledge is wasted irrespective of the field we are in any information we get elsewhere can equally help in one way or the other to make our desire come faster.

I like the way the subtopic of this book titled “Make yourself an attraction box” explains the attractive box base on the information you hear daily. See details on page 105.

3. What are the most important new ideas or concepts you learned from this book?

AFFIRMATION CONTROL THE ATTRACTION
This is one of the new thing I just discovered while reading this book. I got an understanding that when we say positive affirmation it naturally attract positive result but with my new understanding with this book it does not work that way. There are conditions to it before it becomes what will affirm. That is the result we get based on our affirmation is conditioned by our feeling when making an affirmative statement, when we affirm positive our feeling must equally be positive to balance the result. The danger of it is when using positive affirmation with negative feeling it will attract negative result. ”the law of attraction responds to how you feel about what you think” our thought must be positive, feeling must be positive also the affirmation must be positive to attract the desired result.

REMOVE THE DOUBT/RESISTANCE
The more our limiting belief continue over and over in our thought the more doubt comes in also the more stagnation keep us out of manifesting our desire. Practically saying until hindrances or doubt resisting your manifestation/allowing are removed no breakthrough will be recorded. The oldest book made me to understand that “For a great door and effective is open unto me and there are many adversaries” going by this understanding of this statement and my understanding with this book I conclude that our adversaries represent our doubt, fear unknown, which emanate from our limiting belief. Doubt, here must be totally war against to enjoy a full manifestation of your desire. Having strong desire is not enough to have a breakthrough if doubt is not cleared off the way desire may not manifested as expected. Strong desires with no doubt hasten accomplishment.

4. Has this book challenged or changed your thinking in any way?

OBSERVE THE EVIDENCE
Finding proof of your desire helps reduce doubt, this stands as one of the core tools I found very interesting. Close Observation of your desire need to be carefully done. The reason for this is to help destroy unlikely doubt in an attempt to get the desired result. Also observing the prove of your desired result help to appreciate the good thing that has come your way, not only that, it also prevents our negative vibration because whatever your negative vibe respond to may likely reoccur again. “Remember, the law of attraction does not care whether you are remembering, pretending, creating or worrying. It simply responds to what’s in your vibration bubble”

APRECIATION AND GRATITUDE
The basic law of life that I have lived to enjoy in my life is appreciation. This is not very common in most books I have read and it is a basic law of positive return. By locating this law in this book it has reignited me to do it more.

5. Are there ideas in the book that you totally disagree with? If so, why?

Just as this book has taught its principles, we are what we think no more no less, if I will disagree with any of the ideas in this book, it is based on my perception about the idea but I will say I have no disagreement with any of the ideas.

6. What did you find most helpful and least helpful in this book?

ATTRACT POSITIVE OUTCOME
To start with I will say there is law of attraction operating daily in our daily activities. We attract whatever takes our attention, energy, and whatever we focus on. Nothing by passes the science of nature. The law of attraction is simply the law of nature.
The qualities of vibe operating in your action replicated in the outcome of your life either positively or negatively. I adore this statement by Brain Tracy “You are a living magnet; attract into your life; people, situations and circumstances that are in harmony with your dominant thoughts. Whatever you dwell on in the conscious grows in your experience”. I once said nothing happens to any man without the permission from his mind. You reflect the inner feeling or thought by the action taken.

7. In 50 words or less, please describe the main idea the whole book is trying to convey.

The way we respond to events in our life has a direct proportional influence on our dream and desire. The negative vibe will only attract the negative to us, likewise the positive vibe will have positive influence on our desire or aspiration. This book has broken down and addresses the way to handle the vibration that generate through the event of our life and how to attract the best in to our life.

What You Say When You Talk To Your Self
Assessment by Paul Adedayo (Nigeria)

1. What Ideas were personally most important to you in this book?

DEVELOP THE GIANT WITHIN YOU
One thing I know that I have used and it has worked for me like fire and being mentioned in this book is self-development. It’s important to take this subject with all sense of responsibility. A gift is not yet a gift until it well refined and polish through the stage of self-development. You may have a gift that can launch you to your world but that is not enough, the question is how do you display skillfully to deliver maximum profit the answer lies in the amount of self development programs you engage in. Remember you can be better than the leader in your field but it subject to self development.

Let me give a brief story of myself, I grew up to know that am a stutter, in fact my dad often abuse me, when I happen to stand in front of him explain things I was always unable to fully express myself because of my condition. It got to certain time in my life when I was so passionate to make a different in speaking, I made a resolution within me to become a good speaker, I went through so many developmental programs to enhance my fluent speeches today am much better than those who has no barrier with their speeches. Thank God for this but the bottom line is I went through fire to be refined.

2. Can you relate the ideas or concepts in this book to your personal circumstances in life such as your relationships, your beliefs, your goals, your values, etc

SIMPLE WORD, IMPORTANT RESULT
We cannot tell how our lives can be change base on the little word we hear or say to ourselves, every thing we say has the potent of becoming a reality. During the course of reading this book I got an inspiration from the wise book in the proverb of King Solomon at the chapter 18 of verse 20 that says “a man belly shall be satisfy with his tongue” this words struck me like fire and coupled with this section of this book I realize that a little statement made from our mouth consciously or unconsciously, positive or negative can change our lives, it only depends on which angle we say it. I love the way this quote from this book “Your success will always depend on what you think what you tell yourself most”

3. What are the most important new ideas or concepts you learned from this book?

FIVE MECHANISMS THAT AFFECT OUR SUCCESS

These things I know for certain that it daily affect our live and success, this book painted the right picture of how it work either positive or negative against us. These mechanisms are

BEHAVIOURS
Doing the right thing certainly will earn us right result, knowing the right thing is not enough but it is doing it is what count. I have one understanding in my search for a better life that our success is at the mercy of our attitude and behaviors toward our pursuits. The author painted a picture about a student who knows that without him attending lectures daily his chance of making it is slim likewise our success without well constructive planning and dedication is liable to failure. Every thing we get out of life depends on our behaviour to the course of life, if you succeed or fail is your fault. Our action is spring up by our feeling.

FEELING
A man’s action is condition by his feeling; automatically our result or performance will depend on the feeling from our inside. “If we feel good or positive about something, we will behave more positive about it. Our feeling will directly influence our action” though your feelings are influence by your perspective.

ATTITUDE
This stand as the bed rock of our achievement, every thing we desire fall in line base on the kind of attitude will possess. Our attitude is our viewpoint about issues in our life, if we can foresee success we can get. That is all it takes.

BELIEFS
I love the way this subject is painted here in this book. The attitude we display is subjected by what we believe. This reminds me of my little age as a child when I was in the college, I so much believed that I will succeed one day. I had it in mind that one day I will stand speaking to a large number of people in a congregation. I tell you it happen now just because I held on to my belief. One thing I known for certain is that our destiny takes order from what we believe. Take it or you leave it, it is real.

PROGRAMMING
We are what we think we are, what people say about us does not matter to our life if we do not program it in our mind. We can be as successful beyond our imagination but how do we reprogram every negative word spoken against us. Though every programming is stored in our mind for reproduction of anything we choice to be. Permit me to quote the wise book as spoken by The Messiah in the Mathew 12:35 “A good man out of the treasure of his heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil thing” our mind is a computer which stores every information that it get from any angle. If you need success then program success if is otherwise program it is all your choice.

4. Has this book challenged or changed your thinking in any way?

PROGRAM YOUR SUCCESS

You will become what you think most; your success or failure in anything, large or small will depend on your programming – what you accept from other, and what you say when you talk to your self.
– Shad Helmstetter

I have read many books and head many teaching and philosophical words that has thought me many techniques about success combined with the principles of this book, after merging every thing together I discovered that all results to the power of our thought. Nothing fail until your thought fails and no success until your thought produces success. Man’s success largely depends on programming that is stored in his mind. With my many years of study on the subject of success I conclude by saying that a man mind is the miracle ground where success manifests. Failure is not a misfortune neither success is a chance but it spring up from what we resolve to get from our mental mind. The truth is we can be what we programmed in our mind.

5. Are there ideas in the book that you totally disagree with? If so, why?

Just like the concepts in this book that deal with our belief, my belief about this book is that it a book that all positive thinkers should read and the concept are very good. I have no disagreement with any of the idea in it

6. What did you find most helpful and least helpful in this book?

IT TAKES THE ATTITUDE TO RULE THE WORLD
How does a man succeed without positive attitude towards his goal? The fact here is that no matter how you strive to become better all effort will prove aborted without a good attitude towards that which you are pursuing. The writer made a statement that is still making to pondering “Our attitude is the state of mind we live in … it propel us forward towards our victories or bog us down in defeat, it make us rich or poor, happy or un happy, fulfilled or incomplete. They are the single most determining factor in every action we will ever make”

GIVE LIFE TO YOUR SELF
It is normal that negatives programming may stand to weigh us down, instead of absolving it say something that will motivate you by given life to your self talk. Tell your self of great thing you want to accomplish, tell your self how you feel about the future. Motivate yourself within and create a better future .

7. In 50 words or less, please describe the main idea the whole book is trying to convey.

You are what you think you are or what you tell yourself to be no more no less. This book has preached a good gospel of reprogramming a positive belief and to delete the old belief which was program into us by the people around us. Also what we said to be with our mouth. I love the way the author painted a very good picture about the power in our mouth it has brought a miracle to my path.

Goal Setting 101
Assessment by Paul Adedayo (Nigeria)

1. What Ideas were personally most important to you in this book?

Structure Your Goal with What, Why and How

WHAT – The quality of question asked determines the quality of answer you get. Destiny answers to goal setting, until you are able to ask yourself ‘what’ you have not arrive in life and no matter how big your aspiration or dreams are, it remain a day dream without facing this fact.

WHY – Our goal in life needs ‘why’ question which provide an answer to the benefits that we tend to get from our quest. Nothing motivates a man like the benefit that await him from his quest, our perfect leader Jesus Christ understood this that was why he said “…For the joy set before me I endure the cross..” Probably He may have rejected his mission to the cross without viewing the benefits he for the future. Why am I on this course? All aspiring leaders, visionaries, dreamers and goal getters need an answer to this question.

HOW – No pilot will enjoy a successful trip without his map at hand, ‘how’ question is the map that gives a pointer to where you are going. This is very import, any journey worth of going needs a viable strategies before embarks. How you are able to put this in place gives you a better chance to succeed without struggling. Many succeed without sweat while some struggle to make a living, succeeding with ease is subject to strategic planning made through planning work by answering ‘how’.

2. Can you relate the ideas or concepts in this book to your personal circumstances in life such as your relationships, your beliefs, your goals, your values, etc

Carve Your Niche with Your Tongue

This is an insight I drew from the page eight of this book, Napoleon Hill said “you will not succeed until you are able to convince other people to buy your vision”. In the process of sharing your dream there must be clarity of statement of what you share about your dream. Until your dream is well stated and you are able to say it no body will buy into it.

3. What are the most important new ideas or concepts you learned from this book?

Goal Setting Is Your Priority
Part of the prerequisites that form the foundation of every success is your consciousness toward achieving a definite goal for your life either personal goal, organizational or what have you. The fact I have gathered so far in my quest for success journey is that there is no valid contract in business of life without your acceptance. You can only get what you bargain for nothing more.

Any journey without a map outline, which stands as a goal, will ultimately suffer frustration. Going by Gary definition of goal “Goal is an end which you direct special effort”. Effort directed on a particular thing without knowing the end may not give desirable result. I appreciate the three element of goal setting by Gary that forms the foundation of good goal setting, these are;

• An accomplishment to be achieved
• A measurable outcome
• A specific date and time to accomplish the goal

4. Has this book challenged or changed your thinking in any way?

IT IS YOUR CHOICE
No one succeeds by chance; your success is as a result of the choice you choose. I love the way Garry painted this section “As your birthright you are given your greatest power- the power to choose. Every moment offers you a choice…” Every single moment of choice we choose count on us. The fulfillment of a man’s vision, goal even our destiny is liable to the kind of choice we choose. All power in heaven and on earth belongs to Almighty God but the power of choice resides in our hand. So it is our choice to succeed if we choose to succeed.

GET THE FACT AND FACE THE FACT
“The truth will prevail, one day or another and usually sooner than later. It is better to face fact at the planning phase, and to convince others to do the same. This is not for the sake of building character or maintaining mortality. This is a matter of survival. Whether or not you face it truth will create consequence”
The above quoted lines made me to ponder on the reality that we must face the fact to activate our dream and aspiration. Every journey has it details attached to it, having gotten an answer to the what, why, how, questions then we need to face the reality of the fact gotten from these question we asked. The truth is you can’t run away from the fact, if you do you will still come back to meet it.

5. Are there ideas in the book that you totally disagree with? If so, why?

Agreement comes through understanding; when an explanation is well stated and clear it becomes accepted to those who has the same mind. All the ideas are well stated and clear to my understanding.

6. What did you find most helpful and least helpful in this book?

PLANS IS IT
To make a speedy accomplishment in life planning is it. There is no great accomplishment that is not attainable with viable planning. Planning is the road map to accomplishment. I appreciate the planning step written here by the author, it has helped me to perfect my personal planning.

The first step written by the author in this book to actualized a great result begins with knowing the purpose of a course, the truth is when the purpose of a thing is not known abuse is inevitable.

Secondly, to make fit plans in circumstances surrounding, the flexible of our plans to change per time is what determine outstanding result we command life is dynamics so every thing around us should be condition by the change even the plans will make yearly for our self need timely review to fit in to circumstances of the present. The fact I got from this is that our plans skills and strategies for today will be obsolete for tomorrow. That is why we must fit our plan into circumstances suit our goal.

Thirdly practicing spontaneity at all time, Sensitivity is key to life of unending success.

Personal planning, the quality of success we command in life is tied to the effective planning we make.
• Never stop planning.
• Always write down your plans.
• Do your investigation.
• Always be prepared.

Get buy-in: I got a light from the quoted lines below, it blew up my thinking “the way to establish by- in is to create a sense of ownership in the affected individuals there are two ways to create a true senses of ownership. You can incorporate some individuals into what you create or you can incorporate some of what you are creating into the individual”

• Create a contingency plans
• Don’t forget Murphy’s law
• Lastly use SWOT Analysis

DEEP YOUR FEET INTO SUCCESS
There are many laws that pave way to our success in this book, the fact remain that if we do not apply them into our life we may never succeed. I cherish the two principles below,

• Act like a leader; no matter how you strive in life if you don’t have a mindset of a leader you can never become one. The wise book of Ezra 10: 4 “… This matter is in your hand…” if you succeed or fail is in your hands, one thing I got to understand is that if you don’t act like a successful man you may not become one.

• Practice Speed, Simplicity and Boldness; this part of this book sensitizes me on the observation I have done on the successful people. I have met in my life, I discovered with my observation to success in life you must be bold and confidence to dare any course of pursuit without it things may not work as expected.

7. In 50 words or less, please describe the main idea the whole book is trying to convey.

Among all the books I have read on this subject this one is difference it has presented the effective way of planning and setting a better goals for every path we choose to pursue. It states very clear that planning is a necessity, it is a must before any course is embanked on. I so much enjoy the way all the ideas and principles are deeply analyzed to suit all purposes.

Comment
To enjoy a successful trip on success journey all the principle in this book must be embraced. The ideas are inspiring, motivating and light. Though the pages are not voluminous but it very good

Unlimited Power
Assessment by Paul Adedayo (Nigeria)

1. What is the main idea that the author is trying to convey in the book?

I will start this assessment by saying; you can be whatever you think you can be only by changing your belief that you can be whatever you think. Unlimited power resides in us only if we know and employ it, to work for us in the direction we want it to work, Anthony made this clear in his statement “the power to magically transform our lives into the greatest dream lies waiting within us all … . “He went on to define the meaning of power that “power is the ability to change your life, to shape your perceptions to make things work for you and not against you. It’s the ability to direct your own personal kingdom, your own thought processes, your own behaviors to produce the precise result you desire” Through the lines quoted I got a light which has made me enjoy so much help from this book, base on the subject it focuses on. This book focuses on how we can use the unlimited power of belief and modeling leverage a platform, the power of state and many more to change unwanted situation of our present circumstances to the desirable result.

2. What were the seven ideas which were personally most important to you and why? List these seven ideas followed by an explanation after each one as to why it was important to you. Use personal examples from your own life.

I got seven secrets which I titled Giant Secrets from this book. I have observed closely in many great men I have met on my journey; I discovered they are common secrets in them. No one ever succeed in life without these secrets I have tested them and I know they work, irrespective of the background they are coming from nor the geographical location, age, and qualification:

PASSION: The highest qualification for success which I have found in this book is passion. No one ever succeeded without something boiling and burning in him to make a difference. I so much appreciate the way Anthony explained in this book that there is no greatness without a passion. I believe we all have a call to make a difference and it is only the passion that gives birth to that portion of difference.

BELIEFS: Going by the author’s view on the subject of beliefs, they are performed, reorganized and approached to percept the filter action of the communication within ourselves in consistent manners. Read this “Many people are passionate but because of their limiting beliefs about who they are and what they can do, they never take action that make their dream a reality.” Let me ask you this- Do you believe what you are passionate at? Our beliefs form the bases for our triumph in life. To be candid, my life is a product of believing in my vision. I have got recognition in so many places I have stood to speak because of the conviction in my belief.

ACTION: Having a good vision without action is like illusion. Things took a dramatic step in my life while reading this book. I decided to implement many projects with an active step. Our consulting firm is opened for operation, our magazine is now re-branded and with a set of new staff running with the vision.

RESPONSIBILITY: This is a big one; I agree with Anthony here that “those who take responsibility are in power those who avoid it are disempowered”. I wrote this assessment at midnight when majority of my mates are sleeping and snoring responsibility in action. I became a central attraction in my office by this virtue. I can not deny the fact that my life is positioned on the fifth gear ever since I embraced this secret.

MODELING GOOD: This is one of the great secrets I exploited in this book. It has awaken my inner drive to pursue those who have the virtues that I desired most and to maximize the modeling secrets for my own result. I have been privileged to stand to share inspirational talks in so many gathering. I have a mentor whom I pattered my oratory after. Anytime I stand to speak I demonstrate in the congregation the way he does and I tell you I could see the same result he commands around me too.

CLARITY OF VALUE: I was sharing this secret in a gathering and I said “There is nothing people can say that can change my mindset or to change my word. The truth is that I value seeing a trace of change on people around me. That is making a maximum impact in my world. Reading this secret has given me a new strength not to relent seeing the practical change in the live of the people around me.

COMMUNICATION: My joy is full today because I am amazed at myself. I was called to give a talk today before I continue this assessment, believe me, I never had any preparation before I got the call but every one in the gathering was fascinated by the inspirational talk I made. Communication controls the essential path of our success. Someone said that you cannot succeed in life until you are able to convince people I guess by your communication. It is not all about communicating only to the people but also to oneself. I talk to myself every day through meditation.

3. How will these ideas or lessons help you in a practical way, both in your daily personal life and in helping you to create a better world? If so, how?

God has been the ultimate source of my help, but I must also say that my life has been position on a speedy gear in my accomplishment via the inspiration drawn from this book; most especially the one I titled the giant secrets. While I was on this book, my confidence was renewed to take many steps on my dream and on many abandoned projects. I must say every thing is working perfectly for me with ultimate result.

4. Quotes: Are there brief quotes from the book which really got your attention? If so, please list and comment on them.

“The more resources you develop the more power you have; the more strength you feel, the more you can tap into; even greater resources and even more powerful state”

“The power to magically transform our lives into greatest dream lies waiting within us all…. Power is the ability to change your life, to shape your perceptions to make things work for you and not against you. It’s the ability to direct your own personal kingdom your own thought processes, your own behaviours to produce the precise result you desire”

“If you are not powerful, don’t pretend as if you are powerful”

“People are not lazy. They simply have impotent goals, that is, goals that do not inspire them” flout

“If you will win a man to your cause, first convince him that you are his sincere friend”- Abraham Lincoln

Comment: I have got more strength from this book especially through the first quoted line that sensitized my mind on the power I could become through this book. To be sincere, this book is indeed “unlimited power”

5. Is there anything in the book that you do not understand or are unclear about, or are there ideas which you disagree with and, if so, why?

I think no, although may be because it took me so much time to finish this book and I followed each lines carefully to get it right. I have no doubt or disagreement of any kind.

6. Did the book contain exercises for the reader to complete? If so, did you complete all of the exercises and did you find them helpful?

Yes, I did. To be sincere, this book opens me up to recognize my weakness on goal setting. Time to time, I do set goal but I neglect the aspect of giving time limit to the goals set but while reading and completing the exercise on the “limitation disengage’ in chapter 11. I realized my weakness here, and am awake to make sure every goal I set has a time limit.

7. Was there anything you read in the book that you would like to comment on that was not covered in the previous questions? If so, please comment.

“If you would win a man to your cause, first convince him that you are his sincere friend”- Abraham Lincoln

Just immediately I finished reading some parts of this chapter, I got home from the office, one of my protégée reported her junior to me how she flouted her instructions. She complained bitterly about this matter, while she was explaining this to me, I gathered all I have learnt in this book in my thought. I spoke with her in other to establish a good rapport with her. I gave her many examples about my personal leadership attributes to the people around me including my junior colleagues in the office.

The next time she called it was to tell me how these principles have helped her confront the challenges. Besides from her own story, I have been trading on these principles to influence people around me but I never got the details, now I believe I am equipped on the principle from this book.

The Power of Intention
Assessment by Paul Adedayo (Nigeria)

1. What is the main idea that the author is trying to convey in the book?

“Your free will can either move with universal spirit and it’s unfolding or away from spirit when life appears to be a struggle”

From my understanding on this book, I discovered through the author illustration about the subject matter “The Power of intention”, that the intention is a field of invisible and formless that manages the visible. The intention is a universal force energy that manifest in zillions of ways in the physical world. Every part of our being from soul, thought, emotion and the physical body that we occupy is part of this intent. Intention determines every thing, is every where, intention is omnipresent. Intention is a force that appears to be everywhere, an omnipresent which qualifies the Almighty Divine Intelligent. The intention is God who created every organs of our being and knows the functions of each. This book simply explains how we can co-create our world with the power that governs the universe.

2. What were the seven ideas which were personally most important to you and why? List these seven ideas followed by an explanation after each one as to why it was important to you. Use personal examples from your own life.

Ideas from this book inspired me alot but I found these seven faces of intention in the chapter two of the book, it’s helpful because it clearly divine the way the almighty divine intelligent work.

Seven Ways Intention Works
One thing is certain about life that I observe to be, I discover that you can’t create anything in your world except you co-create with the intention. Your world is not your world until you recognize the power of intention. I got the better illustration of this in the Greek book that “except the Lord builds the house the labourer builds in vain” we can only gallantly excel in life if we co-create with the energy force that is in operation in the universe. But to really appreciate this force that represents the power of intention we must understand how this force works. These seven faces of intention in this book clearly show me how intention works and is applicable to us to co-create our world.

The face of Creativity
This gave me the magnitude of the power of intention. While reading this book I got an inspiration on the creative power of creation that the intention creates us out of His desire to make a man in His image so we can also re-create things we desire. Every thing on the surface of the earth past through the intention to our mind until we understand the creative power of intention we cannot create our world. My Greek book of Job 32, 7-10 tells me that “…. Multitude of years should teach wisdom. But there is a spirit in man: and inspiration of the Almighty gives them understanding. Great man are not always wise neither do the aged understand judgment. Therefore I said, hearken to me I also will show mine opinion”. I also got this from this book that “The secret to manifesting any thing that you desire is willingness and ability to realign yourself so that your inner world is in harmony with the power of intention” These two quoted words from my Greek book and this book gave me a clear understanding that until the intention shows us the mind for creativities we can not be creative in our world.

The face of kindness
One of the fastest ways to get exactly what we are looking for is to sow the same seed in kind to people around us. God creates us because of His kindness unto us, to create anything in life we must equally show that kindness to the people around us. “These people are all part of God’s perfection … when God brings a child into this world, the perfection that He seeks is in the way people react to this child” The truth of all is that we hold the perfection of other in our kindness.

The face of love
“God is love and he that dwelled in love dwelled in me “I did pondered on this words and realized that if we show love to people around us we are indirectly exercising our godship position to people. Recently, I invited a lady to a conference. She could only attend the last section, after the end of the program she told me of her present challenge in her office, I penciled down all problems the solutions to the challenges, I used these to counsel her. She looked at me and told me how magical those advices and the clue she got from the conference have solved her problems. I can say this is one of the loves God wants us to express to people around us. Today I could see a smile on her face.

The face of beauty
the beautiful thing we enjoy on earth came from a beautiful mind of the carrier. The beauty of our life comes from our inner beauty of our maker. This book has helped me to appreciate the beauty images I see daily. In fact every time people come around me now I see the image of God in them. God is beautiful and every creature He created is created in His image, when we see the white we see the image of God, the black we see the image of God, we are beauties of God image represented on earth.

The face of expansion
When I was a little boy I used to think of God omnipresent in the universe. My imagination about the universe was so short never known I could take advantage of the power of intention to establish my world. Now I have gotten a better understanding about this subject, that I can harness the power of intention through my relationship with the Almighty divine intelligent to expand my world.

The face of abundance
I grew up to understand that the Almighty dwells in abundant and He gave it all to everyone permitted to live on earth, my Greek book told me that “God has given us every thing pertaining life ….” Likewise this book sensitized me on the availability of God abundance to us in the universe, his abundance is limitless but it only takes our mind to see it and conceived it before we can have it. I enjoyed the personal story of the author how he uses his eyes of the mind to harness the abundances into his life, which is just how it works.

The face of receptive
One thing this section taught me is that the power of intention is open to any one who truly seeks the power to advance his life. We can not realize the full potential deposited into us without the power of intention at work to guide us.

3. How will these ideas or lessons help you in a practical way, both in your daily personal life and in helping you to create a better world? If so, how?

Basically, I understand that without the knowledge of God who created everything in the universe my journey is limited. By exploring on this book, I got a tip that spring my appetite to begin a deep search about the power that govern the whole universe as to enhance my world to become whose God wants me to be. “You cannot know the meaning of your life until you are connected to the power that creates you” Sow I understood that I can not graduate from searching the knowledge of divine guidance, I can only progress because the knowledge of Him is so deep.

4. Quotes: Are there brief quotes from the book which really got your attention? If so, please list and comment on them.

“You can not know the meaning of your life until you are connected to the power that create you”
Those who have failed to work towards the truth have missed the purpose of living”-Buddha
The truth is that the power of intention is real, God is real if we can harness the truth about this power of intention then we are ready to advance the purpose of our living. Putting these two quotes together I simply understand that God is the truth to seek after.

5. Is there anything in the book that you do not understand or are unclear about, or are there ideas which you disagree with and, if so, why?

Nothing

6. Did the book contain exercises for the reader to complete? If so, did you complete all of the exercises and did you find them helpful?

Yes, there are many exercises in this book especially in the part II, they are practical exercises. To be sincerely these exercises really help me.

7. Was there anything you read in the book that you would like to comment on that was not covered in the previous questions? If so, please comment.

Will and Imagination
Your will is so much less effective than your imagination, which is your link to the power of intention. Imagination is the movement of the universal mind in you. Your imagination creates the inner picture that allows you to participate in the act of creation. It’s the concept of spirit within you, its God within you. Your imagination is the invisible connection link to manifest your own destiny. With these little definitions on will and imagination it gives me a clear picture about co-creation with God that is we can participate in creating our future and see what lies ahead of us with God.

Leadership For Dummies
Assessment by Paul Adedayo (Nigeria)

1. What is the main idea that the author is trying to convey in the book?

The primary main idea the authors is conveying in the book “Leadership for Dummy” is how to primarily practice leadership principles without hitch or glitch, to be responsible and accountable in our daily activities. The belief of an average man living in this world is that leadership tasks are insurmountable and because of that they dare not try to accept responsibility of taking any leadership position. Apart from this, it also stated the difference between leadership and management and what the leadership stands for likewise what the management equally stands for.

2. What were the seven ideas which were personally most important to you and why? List these seven ideas followed by an explanation after each one as to why it was important to you. Use personal examples from your own life.

Passion to Lead

Every French soldier carries a marshal’s baton in his knapsack – Napoleon Bonaparte

Leaders are not born leaders are made, leadership is not only to lead, leadership is commitment in action. Leadership is responsibility and accountability. Leadership is foresight and active step to create desire in reality. I quite agree with a man that said leadership is not about caring title but caring a cause. With my few journey on the subject of leadership I discovered that leadership is not to lead people, leadership is passion to make a difference, passion to bring about change where change is necessary.

I have done so many researches to understand why some leaders fail and while other succeed. Many view points and opinions has being thoroughly criticized to find the true bases for the causes of success and failure of a leaders, this book has help me to come into a conclusion that for any leaders to succeed seven things must present for an effective and efficient leaders, they are as follows:

Vision
An overarching idea doable dream, a mental image of where you are leading the follower to, that is realistic. Vision is an essential aspect of leadership that gives direction to people. I discovered vision at the early age of my life, I noticed that it is the currency of life, is usable and obtainable anywhere in the world and it can take a man to any where he may think of. My life as a person wouldn’t have been what it is today if I had not discovered my vision in life. Vision guide my way of life and help me to keep in touch and maintaining my relationship with God.

Mission
A statement that summarizes goals that help to accomplished, fulfill the vision. Having discovered my vision in life, a statement was carve out to summarize and to create a path to accomplish my vision

Direction
A chargeable goal or set of goal that responds to the current situation or best information; the path from where you are now towards accomplishing the mission

Goal
An intermediate step that responds to the current situation that, when taken with other goals accomplishing the mission. Many things were set to do by my vision but a step by step approach were position to enjoy the fulfillment of the whole vision in a grand style

Legal Cooperation With Others
This point is best explain in this book by Robert Easton, Chrysler CEO, who said nobody can know everything and nobody can do everything… in other word without a legal cooperation with other you go nowhere as a leader. As a leader of our organisation I indeed know that the foundation and the speed of accomplishment we have enjoy so far wouldn’t have been possible without harnessing the potential of other by legal cooperating with them as team.

Sense of Listening
One of the central components of leadership is listening, there is need to gather many information about the people to lead the course to pursue and the environment to operate. Listening helps work to develop a more organized system for extracting information by having your group make regular presentation to you, in writing and orally. As person this area as being my strength irrespective of my ideas I give everyone an opportunity to express their ideas and if it potentially proven we develop on it. And move with it.

Place the Needs Of Others Above Your Own Needs
This very one is very important to pay more attention to has a leader. Many a time we need to show the humility of our service to the people we lead. This is so essential to gain full possession of the leadership skill. The need of our follower must be our priority any day any time. I initiated of weekly meeting with my staff immediately I became the head of my department, to mend the gap of communication between the management and staff. This platform gave me the true picture of individual need per time. Timely need has been provided via this platform for many staff to benefit from management.

3. How will these ideas or lessons help you in a practical way, both in your daily personal life and in helping you to create a better world? If so, how?

Vision, mission, dream and goal, are mention in this book I have position my life to live a vision driving life and to lead with excellence, exceptional in my leadership skills. That is what I work towards daily as I set out for any assignment and in pursue of my vision and dreams. Not only to behave it , also to influence people around me to be vision oriented and vision driving as the way of life.

4. Quotes: Are there brief quotes from the book which really got your attention? If so, please list and comment on them.

Every French soldier carries a marshal’s baton in his knapsack – Napoleon Bonaparte

“Giving your group a very strong vision is always important so that they have a constant sense of mission and expanding sense of possibility”

“Before a group can be enter the open society, it must first close rank”

Also the different between leaders and managers which are listed bellow help me to ponder and to understand the task ahead as a leader.

Difference Between Leaders & Managers

* Manager plan leaders create a direction
* Manager set goal leaders create vision
* Manager organized people leaders makes alignment
* Managers do thing right leaders do the right things
* Manager manage thing leaders leads people
* Manger manage resources leaders develop a potential

I have been on this journey of leadership for few day, reading this book is just like a refreshing of something I have done practically. To be frank every idea are very clear to me.

6. Did the book contain exercises for the reader to complete? If so, did you complete all of the exercises and did you find them helpful?

No, there are no exercises for the reader to complete; though I believe leadership is daily practice for those who can take responsibility, so all the ideas are daily practice exercise for me.

7. Was there anything you read in the book that you would like to comment on that was not covered in the previous questions? If so, please comment.

Slogan your vision into compact word
I leant one new thing from this book that I would never forget, which is turning a vision into slogan that enables you to talk about the vision daily. The vision slogan keeps the leader in remembrance of where his or she is going to and help to stick to it.

Leading with someone else’s vision
This area sound a bit very interesting to me, reading this part in the chapter four of this book gave me a very good idea on how to harness the vision of others in our leadership skill. I love the example of Jerk maple that owns the vision for the America police in New York but was harnessed by the mayor and the police chief.

Leadership and information
The most essential part of leadership skill is decision making which pave way for a creative planning in an organization. Decision making processes are enhance by the large number of information at the dispose of a leaders. I like the author of this book put it “the better informed you are every step of the way, the greater the like hood that you will make the choice”

Nonviolent Communication
Assessment by Paul Adedayo (Nigeria)

1. What is the main idea that the author is trying to convey in the book?

Communications form the essential aspect of human life that dominates the whole activities of human life, either verbally or nonverbal, formal or informal. We all communicate to live when one stop communicating then it means we are not living again, we can’t do without communication. A good communication involve the sender, encoding that is the symbol that carry the messages, decoding and the receiver

The whole ideas of this book are base on non verbal communication NVC, which describe how we can reprogram and relate to people base on their analysis by us. “Analysis of other are actually expression of our own needs and values” we make moralistic judgment of people and behaviors that fail to support our value judgments… by comparisons, denial of responsibility and alienating communication. Our attention is focused classifying, analyzing, and determining level of wrongness rather than on what we and other need and not getting.

2. What were the seven ideas which were personally most important to you and why? List these seven ideas followed by an explanation after each one as to why it was important to you. Use personal examples from your own life.

These seven ideas which were personally most important are parts of the nonverbal communication components which are:

Observing without evaluating: A view week ago, I had an observation about my spouse it was so glaring to me what was happening in our relationship, I made an attempt to my observation but I never conclude in my opinion if I had done that it would have being serious case between both of us. Thank God I understand this tool and its application.

Identifying and expressing feelings: my observations about my spouse and the relationship made me to identify the source of our challenges expressing it in form of sharing my view gave both of us an edge to confront the challenge together.

Taking responsibility for our feeling: rather than concluding and blaming her on the observation I took responsibility of sharing it and sensitizing her on the need to confront the opposition together.

Requesting that would enrich life: This form the basis of communications in the sense that what we request of others is the meaning actually received. Do the people responded to our objective. And our objective does it change people to response to the way we want them to.

Receiving empathically: This is understanding and sharing someone feeling and experience, This reminds me when meeting with a young lady some years ago that was having pains of not giving the course apply to study in an institution instead given another course to study. She was grieved I could see it in her but no one to share with, immediately I understand this feeling, I began by calling her the professional in that field and break down the edge she has in that field and told her my story about the same challenge, at the end of the whole discussion she felt good for the first time. That is what empathy does.

Connecting compassionately with ourselves: we are compassionate with ourselves when we are able to embrace all parts of ourselves and recognize the needs and value expressed by each part. We want to take out the desire to contribute to life rather than out of fear, guilt, shame or obligation

Expressing appreciation in nonviolent communication: Appreciation is a another way of showing gratitude to people and as it help to win people to your side at all time not only keeping people to you but give you a sense of good judgment about people, I appreciate Sam Kem the way he stated it here “the more you become a connoisseur of gratitude, the less you are a victim of resentment, depression, and despair. Gratitude will act as an elixir that will gradually dissolve the hard shell of ego-you need to possess and control- transform you into a generous being. The sense of gratitude produces true spiritual alchemy, makes us magnanimous large souled”.

I had an humble testimony from my sister through a former colleague of my. Through our working together I had so much opposition from her but instead of getting on fire with her I over looked all and concentrate on the good things she does and every bit of her good is always followed by my appreciation. Years after she met my sister which he never knew she was my sister one day they were discussing and my name was mention she began to say so many good things about me imagine someone that was opposing me while we were together but she realized every bit of my way of appreciating her when she does good.

3. How will these ideas or lessons help you in a practical way, both in your daily personal life and in helping you to create a better world? If so, how?

We live in a world that communication order our life, we can’t do without communication, to be adequate in our relationship, we need these seven ideas which are: Observing without evaluating, Identifying and expressing feelings, Taking responsibility for our feeling, Requesting that would enrich life and Receiving empathically others are Connecting compassionately with ourselves and Expressing appreciation in nonviolent communication. Though few of these tool I know but not in details, now I understand in details the better way to relate and communicate with people around. Because a man success is measure by way he relates with people around him.

4. Quotes: Are there brief quotes from the book which really got your attention? If so, please list and comment on them.

“Anger, however co-opt our energy by directing it towards punishing people rather than meeting our needs instead of engaging in righteous indignation”

When we become aware of our needs anger gives way to life-serving feeling

When we hear the other person’s feeling and needs we recognize our common humanity.

Humanity has been sleeping –and still sleeps- lulled within the narrowly confining joy of it closed love. -Teilhard de Chardin

The more you become a connoisseur of gratitude, the less you are a victim of resentment, depression, and despair. I must confess the first time I picked this book I dropped it because it looked unusual to what I read and what I hear daily not knowing that is the foundation of my day to day life. The next time I picked it up again I told myself to read it with uninterrupted concentration. It is a book that every leader must read to be at best performance and to work in good repose with people.

Goal Mapping
Assessment by Paul Adedayo (Nigeria)

1. What is the main idea that the author is trying to convey in the book?

The greatest gift in us that makes us to be unique than the other lives on earth is the gift of setting direction for our life which simply mean the goal setting. Many suffer set back in life because they neglect the greatest gift that power of achievement and success. I love the way Tony Wilson put it “there are only two true states in nature, green and growing or ripe and rotten choose which you which to be.

The writer did very good job on this book, the whole book conveying the right message that I believe we all need this time. It all about practical and personal approach of setting goal to achieving the true success without waiting for the game of luck and chance. Goal setting is the ability of a man to think and device his way to success. I love the way the writer painted here “lasting success is never an accident- it’s on purposed, and Brain Tracy also quoted in this book that “Either learn to set your own goals or you are destiny to spend the rest of your life working for someone who does” How we want to enjoy success in life is basically a function of how effective our goal mapping look like.

“A thought captured on paper and reviewed regularly is held as a goal for subconscious to pursue; it moves to another level of power. Like a magnet the thought start to attract the various elements require for the goal to be achieved” This is one of the crucial area that every goal getter must hold very strong. Many visionary suffer slow motion in their pursue because a proper documentation of the intentions were not made which lead to shadow pursuit, to gain a acceleration in any pursuit of life this subject must be fully embraced.

2. What were the seven ideas which were personally most important to you and why? List these seven ideas followed by an explanation after each one as to why it was important to you. Use personal examples from your own life.

The seven principle of LIFT by the author here are very important to me in fact I re-titled it personally to be SEVEN PRINCIPLES OF CHANGE

Raise Your Awareness: this form the foundation of a new beginning for every visionary leader. All what I am today was traceable to this principle, the personal picture paradigm and viewing the picture from the past. The farther we move is determined by what consciously control our mental imagination. Being the CEO of my organization is not by accident is by looking within myself for what I can offer to my world this form my awareness in my mind that the phase for my pursuit.

Develop Possibility Consciousness: One of the greatest secrete that has given me proves is this Principle, I believe everything is possible. We sprang up a project which its estimation cost was in tune of millions, physically looking we were not having the money in the account but I saw us working in the reality of this project, now we have executed the first leg of the project, that is the kind of possibility mentality.

Find Balance: I love this “By achieving balance across all major area of life you achieve synergy of self. Synergy meaning that together the whole is greater than the sum of its part is a naturally occurring dynamic” I was confronted with a challenge of unbalance life before. I have had some relationship that could not last because I didn’t balance my social, mental and my working life together. It done on me to learn how to balance all when I lost someone that I love so much this experience was an eyes opener to me on this subject.

Be Purposeful: This is another boom purpose that terminates fear; if you don’t have it, you can’t run the race to the end. My life is full of purpose; I get motivated when I receive call or messages about what I do. It makes me feel good and have sense of purpose to get committed to it.

Becoming Full Response-Able: This principle taught me great lessons, the word responsibility mean response to the ability and that is the power to choose your response. There is always an in build ability in us if only we can response to solution will be birth value will be created and fulfillment will come fourth. Never put blame on nobody there is solution within you, when you response to your ability.

Maintain a Positive Focus: This is simply what focus does when we maintain focus, thought is energy and energy never dies it simply change vibration and form. Maintaining a positive focus allow you to maintain a state of the mind where supper-conscious begins to bring you insight and idea from ocean of collective consciousness.

Involving To Evolving: one thing I believe is that a tree does not make a forest, success is about people and people run after success. You cannot run anything successful without masterminding on other people skills and expertise. I love the way Eric Hoffer put it “in time of change, the learners inherit the earth while the learned find themselves beautifully equipped in to deal with a world that no longer exists” that is just it. The little I ever know is as a result of getting involve with people of like minds and in a little while before I realized it I have acquired so many skill and experience that have made me become amazement to my world even to myself either.

3. How will these ideas or lessons help you in a practical way, both in your daily personal life and in helping you to create a better world? If so, how?

Now I am sensitized on why some people do not set goals,

* People don’t set goal because they don’t realize the important of setting goals
* They don’t know how to set goal
* Fear of rejection (creativities and ideas reside in people’s minds but are trapped by fear or rejection. Create a judgment and you’ll unleash a torrent of creativity- Alex Osborn )
* Low self esteem (low self is made up of your negative animal instincts completely out of balance and in self-sabotage. It projects fear into future and worries about something that is groundless)

You never know what you can achieve until you try. Reach for the star and you may only get to the moon but it is still a great step up. May be you’ll reach the star next time

Now I have I understand that goal mapping is as essential as food we take daily. Now, all my personal projects for years to come are thoroughly and well mapped for execution.

We have two sides to our brain. Our left-brain is generally logical, analytical, mathematical, and think by using words whereas our right brain is emotional, lateral, intuitive, and thinks by using picture. To create maximum power in your goal-setting it requires setting your intention in thought and feeling.
