Please describe your vision of a world that works for everyone.

I envision a world of peace and inclusion where there is something for everyone, having the government provide basic social services to the people without discrimination on basis of any criteria.

What do you see as the most pressing problems facing the world today?

I see corruption as a pressing problem which has led to many Africa countries losing a lot of capital, therefore governments fail to invest in better quality public service for the people. This had created social instability and breaking up of civil wars, terrorism, crime human trafficking and drug trafficking, as people strive to find means of survival.

How do you feel these problems could best be solved?

These problems can be solved by educating people to be active citizens capable of monitoring governance and holding accountable their leaders and institutions. Such citizens should be proactive to civic engagement, participate in decision making and political processes such as elections where they can voice their concerns.

In my free time I enjoy working in the garden, taking care of the plants. I watch movies a lot and the best movie I watched was Salt by Angelina Jolie. I am passionate about influencing people to make decisions and implement solutions to solve their community problems. I believe leadership is all about getting people to act on challenges they face rather to wait as victims. The book entitled “Pedagogy of the Oppressed” by Paulo Freire reminds me of how much needs to be done in order to build societies where everyone feels included. Coming from a poor rural community and challenged family background drives me to dream of something different for my children in future. Basic needs such as food, shelter, health, water, education and transport should never lack if we are to groom a better future for our children. Despite all these positive personal attributes, I face some challenges where some of my weaknesses reveal themselves. One being that I am a poor time keeper and always postpone stuff until it is too late. I am still in the process of building my intellect so that I can be able to transform ideas into action and prioritize issues rather than do everything. I don’t not have good social skills and take time to adapt to new environments, hence I sometimes prefer staying in my own safe space. Above all, I value family as the most sacred social institution where character of human beings can be molded for the better of curse to the world.
