Our most constant relationships, like marriage, require our most constant deposits. With continuing expectations because old deposits evaporate.<\/p>\n<p>Really seeking to understand another person is probably one of the most important deposits you can make, and it is the key to every other deposit. Keeping a commitment or a promise is a major deposit; breaking one is a major withdrawal is the idea that will help me in my daily personal life. In fact, there&#8217;s probably not a more massive withdrawal than to make a promise that&#8217;s important to someone and then not to come through. The next time a promise is made, they won&#8217;t believe it. People tend to build their hopes around promises, particularly promises about their basic livelihood. This statement reminds me of a saying in my country Ethiopia that means people prefer that the child they gave birth to lost than the promise they made is lost; it shows the value they give to a promise.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cInside-Out\u201d means to start first with self; even more fundamentally, to start with the most inside part of self, with your paradigms, your character, and your motives. It says if you want to have a happy marriage, be the kind of person who generates positive energy and sidesteps negative energy rather than empowering it. If you want to have a more pleasant, cooperative teenager, be a more understanding, empathic, consistent, loving parent. If you want to have more freedom, more latitude in your job, be a more responsible, a more helpful, a more contributing employee. If you want to be trusted, be trustworthy. If you want the secondary greatness of recognized talent, focus first on primary greatness of character.<\/p>\n<p>There are so many interesting statements included in the book. Some of them among the many are written as follows:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is no real excellence in this entire world which can be separated from right living.\u201d David Starr Jordan<br \/>\nThis statement of David Starr Jordan has got my attention in that we began to realize that if we wanted to change the situation, we first had to change ourselves. And to change ourselves effectively, we first had to change our perceptions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe significant problems we face cannot be solved at the same level of thinking we were at when we created them.\u201d Albert Einstein<br \/>\nThis statement by Albert Einstein got my attention because the problems we face cannot be solved at the same level of thinking we were at when we created them because they don&#8217;t have the capacity, knowledge or skill to solve them.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThings which matter most must never be at the mercy of things which matter least.\u201d Goeth<br \/>\nThis statement explains we should have to prioritize things which matter most and it clearly shows the way of finding out things that matters most.<\/p>\n<p><strong>(Fana is a Level Two Student).<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>What Others Are Saying<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Why IIGL?<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Eusebius Tobechukwu Okorie (Nigeria)<\/strong><br \/>\nEusebiustobechukwu@gmail.com<\/p>\n<p>I had an amazing time as an IIGL student.
