Giant Steps<\/span><\/p>\n

I think my life started going on the right path from when I joined IIGL. The books are a real friend of mine and I asked if miracles can happen. When I finished each book I am shown one miracle. Let me tell you what did happen after I finished Giant Steps, it may motivate others. The following two miracles happened in unexpected ways.<\/span><\/p>\n

For some years I was separated my deepest relations with my beloved family. Always when I want to plan to do something there is a chain that lags me from doing that. But when I read Giant Steps I found two topics the first one is \u201cDreams of Destiny\u201d and the second \u201cHow you get what you really want.\u201d I realize what makes me happy and what gives me pleasure in doing that. I plan if I do this my future in life will have love and taking care of family. So the first thing I did is called for family like for my father, elder sisters and to my small sister and brother. I started to feel intimate with them and started to feel my family time when I was kid. And the next time I started to transfer some cash for my father based on the topic mentioned; \u201cGuidelines for goal setting\u201d and then I start to practice more. Now I am in good relations with my family within this very short period of time.<\/span><\/p>\n

The second miracle appeared is the thing which takes me to the next level of life. For a long time I was single. But I love children and I spend time with them. But I can\u2019t get my soul mate and I feel it always and ask why? I am a good person, I have enough income to live in a marriage; I have good relations with girls but why it doesn\u2019t happen for me? This is what I always ask myself. As I read Giant Steps I found one topic \u201cYour Personal Compass\u201d within this topic that says \u201conce you have identified your values, you can delve further to uncover a hierarchy in to which they fit\u201d and there are a list of emotional states and rank them. The moment I finished ranking and I found love is in the highest rank then I go back and try to remind \u201cthe ultimate success formula.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

By the next day I was planning to talk to the girl that I met three months before in our office trainings. Since that training she was in my mind but I never talked to her. It is through her confident participation that I was first impressed by her. In my mind there is one plan I had in the beginning of 2014, so I ask one question, if I have such a plan I must be in a relation if I am not in a relation I must create it, if I get a girl that impresses me to some extent and it ran through my mind \u201cwould I ask her out?\u201d Then when I finished the book I started chatting with her. In a miraculous way after a four day chatting conversation on social media I asked her to a spend simple dinner together and she accepted. I drew one positive thought I say to myself \u201chow is she attracted by me?\u201d By the next day we had dinner talking about our personality and about some of our past times. We spent time together and continue like this and now two weeks have passed. We are in a good love mood as a couple and we each feel happy.<\/span><\/p>\n

What I want to say about the IIGL program and about the book is: when we read there are points which impressed us so let\u2019s practice that idea. Reading by itself doesn\u2019t bring change it is the conversation to real life which brings change. When we read do not hesitate saying it is a simple idea rather feel proud. I hope all who are involved through IIGL will achieve a great success if we practice the principles in accordance with our real life.<\/span><\/p>\n

What Have You Learned?<\/span><\/p>\n

I have learned enormously at my study on Global Leadership, at the International Institute For Global Leadership (IIGL). IIGL is known as internet-based education program, which provides a curriculum in consciousness designed to prepare students to become personally empowered, consciously aware, high-integrity, and heart-centered leaders in their communities and in the world at large. This program is targeted at helping people of varied race, culture and background to discover their destiny and purpose in life, in order for them to be committed to changing the world in a positive manner. Whereby, students are empowered and developed to first discover the true identity of who they are. And having discovered who they are, they should allow this consciousness of their \u2018self discovery\u2019 to help them maximize their God-given potentials, in order to attain their desired position of greatness in life.<\/span><\/p>\n

Sequel to the information and the lessons that I\u2019ve received through the life changing, educational opportunity presented by the IIGL founders. Though, the program is known as a tuition free, internet-based education program. But I regard it as been given a scholarship offer in order to become a degree (BSc) holder in an International University, located at Asheville, in USA.<\/span><\/p>\n

Thereby, arranging in sequence the lessons and vital information that I have gotten so far, since I enrolled as IIGL student in the year 2011 up-till date, which are:<\/span><\/p>\n

I have learned how to attain perfection and freedom, through the study of the book \u201cJonathan Livingstone Seagull.\u201d In the study which I\u2019ve been educated on living beyond one\u2019s limit and the limit set for the human race, and thus locating a new level of performance and excellence which positive thinking and right usage of the human mind can make possible. Knowing that, when one can believe with strong conviction that he can become or achieve something. The door to that experience opens automatically; this experience is known as what will reveal one\u2019s real-self to him, which is also known as \u201cKnow Thyself\u201d IIGL slogan. Being made to realize that, a state of perfection is attainable to human beings. In which I could state perfection as the ability to minimize one\u2019s mistake and working on one\u2019s skills, attitude and character, in order to be able to perform better in the assignments of life. While being able to see oneself experiencing freedom first in his or her human mind, which experience will actually lead to experiencing freedom in the physical world; Thereby living a meaningful life of positive impact on oneself first, and on other people as well.<\/span><\/p>\n

By reading, \u201cAs a Man Thinketh,\u201d I was made to realize that every human being is actually a product of their thought(s). And as a result of this lesson and information, I\u2019ve given more attention to my thought-pattern than ever before now. Human beings are designed by the thoughts he or she harbors in his or her heart, because the human faculty has higher tendencies to get inclined towards the direction of his thought, while his or her life-experiences will follow suit. As designed by the deity, human beings cannot live better than his thought-pattern.<\/span><\/p>\n

An Important Message from the IIGL Board of Directors<\/span><\/p>\n

Thank you so much for the positive support that IIGL receives from you on an ongoing basis. We are in serious need of additional support from you now.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the past few years, our budget has decreased considerably as donations have diminished. Since its beginning in 2002, the highest annual budget was about $80,000. In 2014, the total budget was $52,000. We are serving more students with less funding, so this has become a crucial issue. The impact that IIGL has had around the world speaks for itself, but it must also speak to the funding we so desperately need.<\/span><\/p>\n

One of the principles we teach is the importance of setting intentions and goals. The IIGL Board has set a goal of increasing the number of individual donors we have by the end of 2014. This is necessary to keep our non-profit tax status, as well as to increase our funds. In 2013, we had 40 individual contributors but, in 2014, only 25 people have contributed so far. Our goal is to have 80 individual contributors before the end of this year.<\/span><\/p>\n

We respectfully ask that you give back to IIGL by helping us reach our goal. Ask one or two friends or family members to make a contribution of any size to IIGL by December 31, 2014. Most of our individual donations range from $11 – $220. Every little bit makes a difference in so many ways! For example, sending one book to Africa via Amazon.com costs $22 including shipping.<\/span><\/p>\n

Nana Adjoa Sifa Amponsah Sifa (Ghana)<\/span><\/p>\n

It was a Monday morning when Mr Adams, our class six teacher entered, we all stood to respond to his greeting as was the culture. Lessons began as usual. \u201cA doctor, Engineer, lawyer were the chorus answers to his question, What is your dream job? As he walked towards me, he asked what about you Nana? An air hostess. Air hostess? He reiterated. Did I even know the job of an air hostess? No, I had only seen a picture of an air hostess in a book my grandfather bought for me and I felt I wanted to be like her because she was fashionable and classy.<\/span><\/p>\n

As a child who didn’t get the opportunities my friends in the cities had, I made up my mind not to let the next generation be victims of circumstances, so I decided to come up with an initiative called the ‘pupils world’ with the aim of bridging the wide gap between rural and urban education which is currently running successfully with the help of my able team under my umbrella organisation DIF. Due to this project, I travel to many villages and this has helped me to know the basic need of human, food which is mostly produced from the farm. But the question is how do we provide this need when we all want white collar jobs.<\/span><\/p>\n

One afternoon, I stood and watched foodstuffs being off loaded from a Kumasi (city)van in Nerebehi village where we went to do feasibility study on my project. The answer to my \u201cwhy\u201d brought childhood memories where most of my mates and I wanted nothing to do with the plagues of farming.<\/span><\/p>\n

On our way back to Accra at about 11 pm, we witnessed a scene which was reported in the following morning’s newspapers. Apparently the young women we saw that night were arrested for transacting illegal business (Prostitution).To my amazement four of them were university graduates. Immediately I realised education alone could not do the trick as I linked it to the answer I got from the village \u201cthe youth especially the young women don’t want to farm so they go to Kumasi to make a living.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Of course! man must survive but the how for me is the most important, so I decided to tackle the \u201chow.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

In my search to acquire knowledge and skills to make generational impact, I came into contact with Kanthari, an organisation that provides incubator and springboard for social visionaries to transform concepts and conventions. During one of the sessions called concept transformation, I realised I could do more to bring social change in Ghana. With Ghandi’s quote in mind, I decided to be the change I want to see in the world by firstly, changing myself. I have farming experience through Saigramam and hope to get more experience through \u201cLend a Hand\u201d and on Kanthari farms.<\/span><\/p>\n

A Ghana where the young woman embraces farming as a means to sustainable livelihood is my dream.<\/span><\/p>\n

Travelling, reading and cooking are my hobbies. I am always happy when people look at me and say, \u201cbecause of you, Nana, I didn’t give up.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Agboola Oluwatosin Janet (Nigeria)<\/span><\/p>\n

My name is Agboola Oluwatosin Janet.I was born on 17th May 1988 into the family of Mr.& Mrs. Agboola. A native of ARA in Osun State, Egbedore Local Government. Nigeria. I am from the family of 6, three boys and three girls. In which I came out to be the first daughter.<\/span><\/p>\n

I obtained my West African Examination Certificate in the year 2004 June at Rukpokwu International College, Port-Harcourt.Rivers State. I proceeded further to Federal College of Education (Technical) Akoka Yaba Lagos in the year 2008 August; where I obtained Nigerian Certificate in Education. In the year 2013, I obtained Bsc(Ed) in Accounting from the University of Uyo.Akwa Ibom.Nigeria.<\/span><\/p>\n

My personal interests are I love engaging on anything involving psychomotor domain, intellectual skills activities, investing in people through knowledge sharing.<\/span><\/p>\n

My future dream is to become a University lecturer with a difference, impacting knowledge and ideas in people positively.<\/span><\/p>\n

I long to see myself becoming a global motivational speaker in fulfillment of my life career.<\/span><\/p>\n

I also love to own Fashion\/Garment Making factory. Due to the full passion I have for this, I have acquired reasonable knowledge on garment making\/fashion designing but I am still hoping to travel to Bangladesh to learn more on Fashion Designing. Through this my dream of becoming a successful businesswoman will come through.<\/span><\/p>\n

I aspire to attain high level of self-confidence in all aspect of life and as well as fulfilling my purpose of existence.<\/span><\/p>\n

Travelling is part of education whereby people are learned and informed about their world. I enjoy travelling not just for fun aspect of it alone but for learning and exposure. I love meeting people who are goal oriented and success minded.<\/span><\/p>\n

I love reading motivational books and scriptural books for spiritual growth and developments. Some of the books I have read are \u201cThe Confident Woman,\u201d \u201cPower of Praying Mother,\u201d \u201cBecome A Better You By Pastor Joel Osteen.\u201d \u201cThe Battlefield Of The Mind\u201d By Joyce Meyer.<\/span><\/p>\n

I have also participated in few leadership conferences where I learnt basically on goal setting and its achievement. National Youth Conference tagged Understanding Your Purpose in Ekiti State (2013)During my school days I held the post of Social Directress for University Accounting Education Association 2011\/2012(NUAESA).Also I was the General Secretary for Student Union Government in the University of Uyo 2013,academic directress for the Joint Christian Campus Fellowship 2007\/2008 in Federal College of Education Akoka.All these wealth of experience in the leadership has really gave me some level of exposure on the qualities a leader need to possess.<\/span><\/p>\n

I\u2019m a young, energetic and vibrant being. My life\u2019s vision is to help birth changed minds, and a changed people that are conscious of changing and bettering their environment\/world because no nation or continent will thrive without people with the right mindsets. It\u2019s always a great thing of joy for me when I do things that birth solutions that play catalyst roles in achieving an ameliorating world. I believe in doing than talking. I believe in solutions and not plenty emphasis on what is wrong without moving forward \u2013 solutions!<\/span><\/p>\n

I\u2019m a groomed Statistician (The Federal University of Technology, Akure), Alumnus, L.E.A.D Academy\/Thomas Wilson Foundation (Nigeria), Alumnus, LEAP Africa (Nigeria), Alumnus, IHAV Foundation (Ghana, GEMSTONE Ambassador amongst others. All these organizations have contributed immensely to my formative years in the strive for excellence and knowledge. I\u2019m an esurient reader and my choice of books vary between autobiographies, Politics, History and religious books. As for movies, I scarcely do but when I\u2019m triggered to, I always settle for those that brings out the genius in me. I love books, prodding minds, travelling, meeting people et al. Some of the books I\u2019ve mugged up includes; Rage for Change by the LEAP Africa team, Power, Politics and Death by Olusegun Adeniyi, A long way gone by Ishmael Beah, A long walk to freedom by Late Nelson Mandela, A reason to believe by Patrick Deval, There was a country by Chinua Achebe, Americanah by Chimamanda Adichie, Undisputed Truth by Mike Tyson, Accidental Public Servant by Mallam Nasri El-Rufai, I think, therefore I play by Andrea Pirlo, The last 100 days of Abacha by Olusegun Adeniyi, The last Pope and the list continues. Few of the movies I have watched that stirred a thing within me includes; A long walk to freedom, Every child is special, The men that built America[Documentary], Three Idiots, Blood and oil Part et al.<\/span><\/p>\n

Through my wealth of experience, I\u2019ve gotten invites to train teens\/youths. I also played a role as one of the organizers of \u2018Polished Pillars\u2019 in Akure, Nigeria. At 19, I was saddled with the responsibility of leading an organization that comprised mainly of people above 28years in my church for a year. Finally, I also engage young ones via the one-on-one approach. The responsibility wasn\u2019t without its own challenges but I was able to surmount the pressures that arose thanks to elderly guidance. As time phased out, I got more strengthened to shoulder the cross.<\/span><\/p>\n

I belong to a family of nine (parents inclusive) and I happen to be the last child and also the last of the male folks. I hail from the Eastern part of Nigeria that are predominantly Christians. I have travelled a few states in Nigeria and out of the country [Ghana] recently. One of my big Nigerian dreams is to celebrate my 34th birthday (2024) as the Governor of Abia State, Nigeria.<\/span><\/p>\n

In January 2009 we launched a new idea which blends two previous endeavors: The Master Mind Group and the 22 Experiment. We are calling this Dream Team 22 and our goal is to have 220 people contributing $22 per month. We understand that money is energy and that to sustain and build IIGL we need a lot of people pouring their energy into this endeavor on a regular basis. We also know that not everyone can afford to commit $22 a month \u2013 especially our students, who live in countries with economies in which this amount can be equal to a weeks\u2019 salary. So we are offering two options for those who wish to become a part of the Dream Team. One can commit to a $22 a month contribution or to spending 22 seconds each day holding the vision of IIGL becoming financially sustainable by the end of 2009.<\/span><\/p>\n
