Man has all the power it takes to create any kind of world he wishes to have and it all begins in his thoughts. And the right thinking can lead us to blessedness in all aspects of life from career to health, its how we think that our lives unfold, and our circumstances are nothing more than a reflection of our thoughts. Our thoughts can influence our character, circumstances, health and body, purpose and achievement. In the book of James 1:6-7 says that “he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea for let not that man think that he shall receive anything of the Lord.”

Creative Imagination: As the author states that “If we picture ourselves performing in a certain manner, it is nearly the same as the actual performance. Mental practice helps to make perfect. I have personally used this method before my interviews and presentations, replaying the events in my mind before, made everything easier from the choice of words to flow of motion, it boosts my confidence and upgraded my appearances compared to the days where I showed up without mental practice.

Cultivating Happiness: I have learned that I can cultivate happiness with my opinions on matters, as the author states “Men are disturbed” said the sage, “not by things that happen, but by their opinion of the things that happen.” Thus I choose to have a positive opinion in all circumstances, having a negative opinion won’t do me any good but only make things worse. I Love this example from the book. It is a fact that you lost $200,000. It is your opinion that you are ruined and disgraced.

The Success-Type Personality: One of the reason I choose to take this course it’s because there’s what I want to be, I put what I have learnt into practice because of what I want to become, because the kind of personality I want isn’t served on a silver platter it has to be cultivated.

Dealing with Aggressiveness: When dealing with aggressiveness the author suggests getting involved in physical exercise like push ups, but also venting into letter, writing and burning it at the end. I personally find it useful, particularly writing whenever I am angry about something. Writing down a letter to that person or about that situation brings about clarity most times and by the time am signing off the letter I no longer feel the anger. The same with physical exercise, for that reason I would personally recommend these practices to anyone.

4. Every night before I go to sleep I would plan my day ahead and then preview it in imagination and to my surprise I never missed a single task on the next day, before this practice I would plan my next day, write down my tasks only getting to the end of the day with only 10% of it fulfilled.

“Stop measuring yourself against “their” standards. Thus it’s very important to understand that regardless of what we see, it’s not worth to measure up to them standards, it’s important to embrace our own selves and accepts us for who we are, we can use the information for motivation purpose but not for self-condemnation.

“Decide What You Want; Not What You Don’t Want.”

A day in life can accommodate a million no of thoughts, I always ask myself this question “if the price of Bugatti and maintenance cost was the same as that of bike would you still go for a bike?” And I would say No, then y spend my time thinking unpleasant thoughts when I could think of lifting thoughts and have better rewards?

“Do your worrying before you place your bet, not after the wheel starts turning.”

As Jesus said in the book of Luke 9:62 .No man having put his hand to plough and looking back is fit for the kingdom of God.
